Acrobat X - Word with linked Excel-Sheets is blank

Hello Acrobats,
the following problem occurs using MS Office 2007 on Win XP with Acrobat X PDF-Maker:
A MS Word document has a linked Excel-Sheet inserted.
The PDF maker is used to create a PDF with no tags or PDF/A specification.
With Acrobat 9 no problems occured.
Now, with Acrobat X the following happens: The part, where the Excel sheet is positioned, only a black frame is shown with a "play"-button (as shown below).
Does anybody know how to avoid this problem?

Hi ,
This is a known issue and this will be fixed soon in the next sub-release of Acrobat X . Till then ,as a workaround , you can copy paste the contents of the 'linked' file to your word file ,instead of linking the file , this will produce an equivalent PDF .

  • LINK Excel.Sheet has issues with Non-English Office

    In non-english office when we issue
    LINK  Excel.Sheet.12 command, the range parameter is causing "Error! Invalid Link" error (¡Error! Vínculo no válido in spanish).
    Example if we do:
    {LINK  Excel.Sheet.12 C:\\Temp\\Text.xlsx  Test!R1C1:R2C2 \a \f 4 \h}
    We get invalid link error (in spanish).
    But when we remove the range parameter:

    It works. This of course by default links only the first sheet by default. Anyone knows if this is a bug in Office for non-english? We are using Office 2010.

  • Importing Word Files With linked Excel files

    I have a word document with linked excel files that appear as linked images in word. When these images are clicked it opens it up in Excel where I can edit them which is fine. However, I would like to import the word doc into adobe indesign with editable tables - not images. Is there a way I can do this?
    Importing, exporting, converting. Nothing seems to work besides manually bring in the separate excel doc in one by one but that will be very time consuming at my end.

    AFAIK, that won't work. InDesign doesn't support OLE.
    You may need to convert those Excel tables to Word tables before placing into ID.

  • Problems creating a PDF from Word containing a Excel sheet

    When I want create a PDF (Acrobat 8 or 6) in Word 2007 it always happens that the excel sheet in the word document is a solid black box instead of the excel sheet in the created PDF. Anyone else had that problem and who can help?

    if you have acrobat 8 pro go to tools advanced editing and select the touch up object tool and click on the black box and hit delete

  • Problem with Protected Excel sheets through OLE

    Hi Friends
    We are facing the problem with the protected sheets in excel, when we are accessing worksheets via SAP.
    We can insert the values in the protected sheet and we can do other manupalations, but when we are trying to do the autofit for the protected sheet via SAP, then its throwing an error while making it as Visible in SAP ECC 6.0.
    Though it is valid, because even when we do in the excel itself, it wont allow the user to shrink the columns, but this one is possible in ECC 5.0  and we can make excel is visible on the screen.
    I would like to know is this SAP Version problem or anything else apart from this? and I would like to know is there anyway to unprotect and protect the sheet through ABAP program with out a password. Now my clients wants the autofit though its protected.
    Please give me any suggestions.

    its bug with ECC 5.0. If we want to make it auto fit we need to unprotect, then auto fit.
    Later we can protect again

  • Problem in Sending mail with attachment (Excel sheet)

    Iam using this FM   SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1  for sending mail with an attachment (excel sheet).
    the application is running fine , mail is going to other system .   but the excel sheet attachment contain only few rows  not all.
    and the body of the mail is not displaying .

  • Linking excel sheet

    Hello All,
    i have generated a report where in i get the glcode and the gl description
    from the cube into my report.
    now i dont want the description which has from the r3 to cube.
    i want to maintain an alternative description for the glcode at query level,
    not cube level nor r3 level.
    Ex. Report is as follows
    glcode gldescription
    531   salaries
    532   distribution
    i want to change salaries to salaries hr department
    i want to change distribution to distribution hr department.
    that means i want to maintain alternative description, the very important
    point being, at the query level.
    How can i achieve this.
    Plz suggest solution.

    You can maintain alternate description at the query level through a VBA Code
    In the excel sheet, lower pane...right click -> view code -> write code here to replace your old description with alternate description
    This will happen in runtime

    I have a large excel sheet having 50K rows and I am constrained to not use more than 250 MB of Heap space.
    Using Apache poi API the creating new WorkBook Object itself gives MemoryOutOfSpace Error

    Please suggest some solution/work around. I am open to use some other API as well but preference lies for Apache poi.

  • Grid line problem with linked Excel files

    I am trying to import and Excel spreadsheet to InDesign, but even when I clear grid in Excel it is still imported with grid lines.  I can't figure out how to clear them off while still having the spreadsheet correctly linked. This seems like an issue with a simple solution (I hope), I just don't normally need to use Excel for anything :/

    when i open the winshuttle from icon, i dont get any prompt/no information.

    We solved the problem by going into the performance settings and disabling the "fade" functionality in Windows. To get to the screen to make the changes in Windows, open the Control Panel and navigate to "System". Open "System" and click on the "Advanced Settings" tab. Next, click on the button marked "Settings" in the "Performance" area. In the "Visual Affects" tab, clear the checkbox for three "Fade... " options.
    I tested this successfully, even for users who have no administrative rights on their computer.
    Please try this solution and see what results you receive. The strange thing in our situation is that the OS image used for laptops does not suffer the problem with Bex and WinShuttle as does the OS image used for desktop computers.
    BG, are you from the UK? I ask as I watch a few UK television programs, and I notice they use "sorted" in the same manner us Americans use "taken care of" or as us Southerners say "figured out".

    Open the file you want to attack in an iPad program that will open it (Docs 2 Go for example). The program should have a share icon somewhere. Click on that and then select email. Without a little trickery I don't know how to attach more than one item per email.

    While performing the testing we have received complains that the export to the excal sheet is not working and the page is coming blank.

    Yes, this is happening for all workbook and also Web Query functionality which allows us to automatically refresh reports in Excel is not working, its not displaying the data. only the headers are displayed.
    And we are using the certified version and it is wokring before we apply these patches
