  • How can I update Acrobat Standard 7 to Acrobat Standard 9?

How can I update Acrobat Standard 7 to Acrobat Standard 9?
    Thank you!

You can purchase a single upgrade to go from Acrobat Standard 7 to Acrobat Standard 9. For further details, check out the Adobe Store.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard -vs- Adobe Acrobat Pro (for large PDF files)

I need to make a PDF from approximately 600 photos. Is the application Adobe Acrobat Standard competent to achieve this task? Or is it preferable to purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro and why?

Neither has particular limits relevant to this.
If you are making for professional publishing, Acrobat Pro contains print production tools.
However, be aware that YOU DO NOT LAY OUT DOCUMENTS OR MAKE BOOKS IN ACROBAT. Sorry to be emphatic, but some people have received the view that it replaces Word, InDesign, Publisher or whatever. It doesn't.

  • Upgrade from Acrobat Standard 7 to Acrobat X Standard

I have two Acrobat installation disks: Acrobat 6 and Acrobat 7 standard (the latter an upgrade) with serial numbers.
These were originally installed on an XP Pro machine, but now I need to transfer to Windows 7 (Professional, 64-bit).
I'm having trouble discovering with certainty whether the Acrobat X Standard editon upgrade will 'work'. It would appear that I would need to install 6, then 7 and then the X upgrade.
Can anyone kindly tell me whether I'm likely to encounter problems with this process?

You don't need to install previous versions when installing an upgrade
version. You do need to have the serial number of the  full-qualified
earlier product (and possibly those of any upgrades in between). If you
have those, it shouldn't be a problem.

  • How to uninstall Acrobat Standard X while Acrobat is running (Silent) - Property to handle this???

We have several thousand customers where we need to remove Acobat Standard X from the computers to install an update.  However, some customers may leave the product running even if they aren't using it.  Now if you run the uninstall with a /qb you get a prompt saying that the application is running, there is an option to ignore, but I can't seem to figure out how to "click" that using commandline options.  There must be a property that handles that, right?  Thanks.

Sabian, I know how to kill a process running that isn't my problem (In fact personally I think it is easier in PowerShell than what you mentioned), I'm trying to have as little impact to the customer as possible.  My comments above were purly to point out Adobe has some work to do with their MSI's, if this isn't possible, since other software companies can clearly get around this problem with no ill effect.
Here is one solution for anyone else wondering what can be done:
Create a pop-up/message box as part of the deployment stating they need to close out of Adobe or it will close in a specific time frame.  Once the OK button is clicked or the time expires, it forces a kill command (In PS that would be Stop-Process), then go onto the install.
The only problem with this is first customers will contact the helpdesk because even with an e-mail lets face it, people don't read their e-mail. Second, there is potential for data loss if people choose to ignore the message.  (If they choose to ignore it, well that is on them in my opinion).  Thanks.

  • Adobe Reader 8 compatible with Acrobat Standard and Pro 7?

Our organization has Adobe Reader 7 deployed to all users. Some users also have Acrobat Standard 7 or Acrobat Pro 7. We want to upgrade all users to Adobe Reader 8 (or maybe 9) but do not want to upgrade Standard and Pro users yet.
I have not been able to find any information about compatibility issues with Reader 8 and older versions of Acrobat, but last time we did an upgrade in similar fashion we experienced issues. Any insight?

Thanks for the reply. I stumbled across something today after posting. I had already known that If the ARX user also had one of the other products (AAXS or AAXP), then they would get the dialog box. Here is what I just figured out: if the user uninstalled ARX and re-installed (still having both ARX and AAXS or AAXP in the end) then they no longer get the dialog box. It seems like perhaps its an issue the AAXP and AAXS are overwriting something in the registry.

  • Where is the download for Acrobat Standard 9?

I can't find a download for Acrobat Standard 9.  Acrobat Pro 9 is on the direct download site but not the standard version.  I have a valid serial number but it doesn't work on the Pro download.

This is correct there is a separate Acrobat 9 Standard installer.  If you choose the download option at the time of purchase then please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1006208?tstart=0&promoid=KBHJQ for information on how to download Acrobat 9 Standard from your account.

  • I need to download Adobe Acrobat Standard X

    Hi all,
I have recently had to re-install windows on my laptop.
My laptop came with Adobe Acrobat Standard X pre-installed. I have the card with the serial number on it that came with the laptop.
I now need to download Adobe Acrobat Standard X onto this laptop.
I don't have a previous adobe account, and also don't have a download history for this product, since it came pre-installed.
How can I download Adobe Acrobat Standard X?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Sam.

Dell were really useful for everything *but* this.
I got my answer from the live chat feature from Adobe.
I was pointed to this page where I could download the correct previous version of either Acrobat Standard X, Acrobat Pro X, Acrobat Standard XI or Acrobat Pro XI.

  • Is it possible to install and run Acrobat Standard or Pro on a Surface Pro 2 tablet?

Does anyone know if is possible install and run Acrobat Standard or Professional on a Surface Pro 2?
and, if is possible to use COM automation to fill AcroForms?
    Thanks and regards,
    Adolfo

Does it run regular Windows 8 (allowing you to install the same apps as older versions of Windows in the desktop) or does it run Windows 8 RT, where only apps from the Windows Store are allowed? It looks like regular Windows 8, in which case you can try out the free trial of Acrobat Pro.
If it works, the Acrobat SDK (separate download) has all developer information on Acrobat, and you need it (give up any idea you will find code ready for use on Google...)

  • How do I customize Adobe Acrobat Standard DC or Adobe Acrobat Pro DC to do what I'd like?  Actually this a multiple-question inquiry.

Note, I was unable to find a "How TO", Tutorial, or FAQ relevant to the following questions.
For instance, how do I easily append to an existing PDF with minimum clicks (which I could do with an earlier version of Acrobat Standard)?
I'm using a 30-day trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC to scan documents and in certain situations, append to existing PDFs.
I'd prefer to trial the Adobe Acrobat Standard vs. Pro DC because that's what I intend to purchase.  I'd prefer to not get accustomed to Pro if Standard is very different.
    1.  After selecting Edit > Preferences and specifying certain defaults, most take effect as suspected but some do not, like the one's I'm going to elaborate on below.  Why?
    2. Alternatively, is there a Tool or a way to create a local customized Profile and default to that Profile to avoid having to repeat the following steps?
This should not be confused with the online Profile (or Communities Profile) whereby one states one's Name etc.
    File
    > Create
       > PDF from scanner
         > Custom scan
           > Color Mode: Black and White
           > Append to existing file
             > Browse
               > Select file
                 > Scan
This is a cumbersome task to repeat each time I'm ready to scan.  Using an earlier version of Acrobat Standard, I'd simply double-click the PDF I wished to append to,
Acrobat would default to the appropriate scanner, and know that I wished to append to an existing file without me having to select that option.  Presently it doesn't appear to be that easy/simple.
Perhaps it is (or can be with guidance).  Please assist.
    3. Please find attached the following snapshots/images... CORRECTION, IF ADOBE SUPPORT CONTACTS ME ABOUT THIS, I'LL GLADLY FORWARD SCREENSHOTS.
Meaning, there does not appear to be a way to include screenshots on Forums.
3a See Error.  Is there a way to get a more accurate description of the error (i.e., turn on debugging etc.)?
3b When Creating a PDF, the prompts still seen after clicking "Configure Presets" and changing Color Mode from AutoDetect to Black and White.  Why?
3c Custom Scan Input, where I changed Color Mode from AutoDetect to Black and White and why I must also tell Acrobat to append AND to browse to a pre-defined default location?
    4. Must I be "Logged in" to use the product?  The first time launching it, I was prompted to login using the credentials used to create the account and download the product.  Now when using the product it appears to be automatically "Logged in" or online.  I would prefer to use it in an "offline mode" if there is such a thing.
    5. Once the product is purchased, what are my support options?  Can questions be answered or issues resolved with a phone call or are they limited to the Acrobat Forum(s) and/or Adobe Communities?  Even after clicking "Ready to contact us?  Start here." I'm only given the Forum option (over and over) vs. Chat vs. Email Support etc.
If I've posted these inquiries to the wrong Forum or Discussion, if prudent, please collectively relocate them.  Regardless, please advise.  Thanks!

  • Why does Acrobat Standard 6.0 recognize scanner but Pro 9 will not?

I am running both programs on an Intel Mac (same machine), 10.5.8 Progam.  My Acrobat Standard 6.0 pulls in the scanner immediately, but my Pro 9 will not recognize the scanner.  Is there something I have to do to get the Pro 9 to recognize the same scanner?

Thank you so much for your patience and expertise.  You spent a lot of time
on this with me.  Maybe Adobe will fix the problem in the future!   Good

  • Can Acrobat Standard append to an existing file when saving?  Can Pro?

    Hello all,
I'm wondering if Adobe Acrobat Standard has the function to save to an existing file. I don't mean append two PDF's together after they are already created. I mean I already have a PDF document which I need to add lots of additional pages to. So when creating additional PDF's, I want to be able to tell Acrobat to add those files to the end of the document I already have.
PrimoPDF has this feature which would be a real time-saver in my line of business. In that program, you simply choose the same filename when asked to save the document. It then prompts you to overwrite or append-to the existing file. For business reasons, it would be very advantageous to use Acrobat rather than Primo. Does anyone know if Acrobat Standard can do this? If not, does Pro do it? Thanks for your time. I appreciate any feedback I get.
    Chris

Never tried that... you might read in the Acrobat Pro User Guide Online

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro?

I am updating a project, that I did not original work on, that was developed using Acrobat 7.0 and Distiller 7.0. It added the ability to save report files in PDF format and to digitally sign them. Besides the files generated by the SDK there are other files that were generated and edited by Acrobat 7.0 and Distiller 7.0. Files ending in .js looks like I just need a text editor and .api is generated by the SDK. Then I have files templates BlankPageDoc.pdf, BlankPageDoc.ps, TempDoc.pdf that were generate by Distiller. Then I have another file with the extension .joboptions that I don't know how it was generated.
So do I need Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro to update this project for 8.0 and 9.0? I know I need Adobe Acrobat Standard to run it but will I need something in Pro for development?

Pro certainly includes various tools not found in Standard that you may find useful.

  • Can I create a custom-scripted dynamic stamp in Acrobat Standard or do I have to buy Acrobat Pro?

I am researching options for the company I work for to take it's invoicing system paperless and I need to know if I can create a custom-scripted dynamic stamp in Acrobat Standard or is that possible only in Acrobat Pro?

You can create a custom dynamic stamp in Std. and Pro. and you can use the dynamic stamp in Reader as well. Here is an infographic on Creating a Custom Dynamic Stamp in Acrobat XI.
