Action to: Print current document to PDF Printer "As Image" with Specified DPI

I FREQUENTLY do the following task on documents.  I would LOVE to have an action that did it for me.  Can someone help me create one or point me to someone who can?
Version: Adobe Acrobat X Pro.  Windows 7 64-bit
With current PDF file open:
2) Print
3) Select PDF Printer
4) (Under advanced printer settings) choose "Print as Image", "150" DPI.
5) OK
6) Save file AS the original with _printed appended to the filename.

Image 2: After selecting the PDF Printer and pressing "Advanced"

The forum added some nice links and i found my answer here http://forums.adobe.com/message/1179199#1179199 - changed the registry key permissions and it's working like a charm. Thank you.

I can no longer print any document in PDF format. Not sure why? When I try to print, the document saves to my hard drive as a PDF and will not allow me to print? Never had this issue before. Any thoughts?

Print to file is in the main print dialog (on Acrobat 9.x) as opposed to under Advanced

  • Print BDS document(in PDF format) from SAP R/3

    Hello ,
I have a requirement to print BDS document(in PDF format) from SAP R/3 without user interaction.
In simple way, if I execute the program - PDF document will get printed on local default printer.
Please help me if anybody worked on similar requirement.
    Thank you very much,
    Liliya

    Hi Liliya,
First you should create a smartform for BDS  Layout and give output parameter like this..
      wa_param-langu     = sy-langu.
      wa_param-no_dialog = 'X'.
      wa_param-getotf = 'X'.
wa_param-DEVICE = '     '.                               " (here you can give the path of your printer)
      lv_output_options-tdnewid = 'X'.                      "Print parameters,
      lv_output_options-tddelete = space.                "Print parameters,
      lv_output_options-tdnoprev    = 'X' .
lv_output_options-TDIMMED    = 'X' .               " it will give the immediate output of form in given output device
I hope it will help you.....
    Enjoy...

  • Adobe Pro - will not print word documents to pdf.. keeps crashing

    Hello,
I have Acrobat Pro and when I try to print Word documents it says printing... and then crashes. The window to select the name of the pdf to print to never pops up. The Word program crashes and reopens. The print icon appears on the system tray and just says spooling.
    I am using Word 07.
Acrobat Pro was working fine to print PDF's on this version of word for a few months then for some reason it just stopped.
When I print PDF's from existing PDF's it works fine.
I have tried to repair the program but it did not help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Miguel

If you are having problems creating a PDF, there are two steps you should do FIRST
Go to the appropriate vendor web site and apply all updates to the program you are using (several recent messages have concerned problems with MS Office conversion, with the response that different versions of Office have different BUGS that must be fixed by a download from Microsoft - and MS Office products are not the only ones which may, from time to time, need to be updated to work properly)
Apply all updates IN NUMBER ORDER
    Acrobat Update http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows

  • When I Print a Document to PDF and Save a PDF the format displays differently.

We use PDF with Microsoft Dynamics GP. When we Print a document to PDF the format of the form is fine. When we SAVE a document to PDF the format is off. We believe we have ruled out application issues.

We are opening the document with Adober Reader. The same Application was used for both documents.
This image was printed from the Application to a PDF and opened in Adobe Reader.
This is the same document from the same application, but when we SAVE to a PDF the format of the gridlines is off.

  • Can't print pdf of 92x92 inches with 1200 dpi

I'm unable to print a PDF to 92x92 inches with 1200 dpi Windows 7 64bit.  I can print the document 600dpi . I've looked the event viewer of print service (print processor existed with error code error is logged)
I can print the same document without any issues in Windows XP
    Steps to reproduce the problem
    1. Open the notepad
    2. select file - print and select 'Adobe PDF'
    3. Select preferences and make sure the page size is set to 92x92 and 1200 dpi
    4. Print the document
    notice nothing is saved /exported

We have an GIS application from which we print data(vector and raster)  to PDF.
Vector - Lines, Polygons, Points, Text. . ..  etc
    Raster -Images
Customer requirement is to print the data to PDF with 1200 DPI.
Initially we taught this is the problem with our application and after analysing the issue we found problem is with Adobe PDF printer driver (simple workflow to reproduce issue is print the Content of notepad)

  • Very slow printing to default Adobe PDF printer

I have a 150 page FrameMaker document (with lots of linked Illustrator CS4 files) that is taking 7 MINUTES to print to the default Adobe PDF printer. In contrast, an old QuickSilver / Interleaf document that is 200 pages long and contains even more graphics embedded as huge TIF files, takes 20 seconds to print to the same default Adobe PDF printer.
I have tried all the suggestions I can find on the web, including Adobe forums, but nothing works. Can anyone suggest why printing from FrameMaker 9 to Adobe PDF is taking such a long time? It would appear to be a FrameMaker problem, since every other application can print to the Adobe PDF printer without any problems, and so can FrameMaker... but only at a snail's pace!
I am using TS2 (FrameMaker 9 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended) on a 3.0 GHz Quad Core PC running Windows XP Pro.

    My computer
    Windows XP Professional
    Version2002
    Service Pack 3
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 3.00GHz
    2.99GHz, 3.25GB of RAM
Using Acrobat 8.1 Professional. (Haven't upgraded because I saw too many posts with people having problems.)
Using Adobe Design Premium CS3 (I use AI files, we always have for any vector files and way to many to change over to EPS.)
We have also been changing over from Interleaf. I really like FM except for this problem. Very glad to get out of Interleaf.
We also used InDesign for a while and there are no problems printing to pdf.

  • Why can't I print a document created on my MacBook Air with Pages via a wired Lexmark X2650 printer?

I am unable to printe a document I created on my Mac with Pages via a wired Lexmark X2650 printer. Of course, I have already confirmed that it is correctly set up and connected. Why?
    Thank you.

TextEdit is an application on your Mac.
Type TextEdit into Spotlight (magnifying icon top right on the menubar) to quickly locate and open it.
It is the basic Text/Word Processor (but actually very capable) that comes with all Macs and a good place to test differences if you hit a problem.

  • Printing Problem to Adobe PDF printer

When I print to my Adobe PDF printer I comes out unreadable, but if I copy the unreadable text and paste into word I can read it.
Unreadable text in Acrobat is in Courier, and readable in Acrobat is in Vernada (that's what is shows in word).  Does anyone have any ideas?
    Version Acrobat Pro 9.4.5

I talked with Adobe and they showed me an option for fonts (listed below).  Uncheck the hightlighted option.
    And now it prints correctly.

  • I want to have a unique reference appear on the footer of each printed version of a pdf printed from my website - is this possible?

I want to have a unique reference appear on the footer of each printed version of a pdf printed from my website - is this possible? If so which version of Adobe do i need?

If you want it to maybe happen some of the time, if people use the right browser and software and system, you can use JavaScript.
If you want it to happen reliably, you need server software to add the stamp before the file is served, integrated into your web site's CGI/ASP/PHP or whatever. Probably not an option with shared hosting.

  • PDF: Unable to print a document as PDF from APEX when using the BI Publishe

    Hi,
From an APEX application, I am unable to print a document in a PDF format when using the Oracle BI Publisher.\
    Here is the configuration:
    1) Server A is W2K3 and hosts the Oracle BI Publisher server, with IP address ip01.
    2) Server B is a OEL5.2 and hosts the database server of the APEX application, with IP address ip02.
    3) Machine C is a W7 desktop from which through an URL both the APEX applicationn and the BI server are accessed, with IP address ip03.
    4) The APEX application is configured with the following to use the Oracle BI Publisher:
    - Printer server: Advanced (requires Oracle BI Publisher)
    - Printer server protocol: HTTP
    - Printer server host address: ip01
    - Printer server port: 9704
    - Printer server script: /xmlpserver/convert
    - Network services are enabled (at least I did get any warning/error message)
From C, I access the the APEX application through its URL, if I try to download a page by selecting PDF in the download section of the interative report section for that page, I am unable to open if and get the error:
<file>. pdf file can not be opened because the file type is not supported or because it is damaged (because, for example as an e-mail attachment is not sent and correctly decoded)
Yet, still from C, I am able to open any other PDF document.
The same way, still from C, acessing the APEX application through its URL, I have a query report defined with a PDF output format. Then, when I test the report (Test Report in the Report query) for that query, I get the error:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.
At first sight this could be a wong entry in the priinter configuration for APEX. But with this address, through the URL I can log in to the Oracle BI Publisher server.
Does someone has an idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks for any tips.

How are you trying to print to pdf?
Don't go via PostScript or Acrobat Distiller, which are old deprecated technology.
    You use:
Menu > File > Print > PDF (button bottom left) > Save as PDF…

  • Printing Word document as pdf files whilst  retaining active internal links

    Hi,
I have a Word file (Word 2004 for Mac Version 11.3.5) with active links to various sections within the document.
However, when I print this as a pdf file all the links become inactive. Is anyone aware of a way to prevent this?
    Kind regards,
    Damon

I tested this problem and got some interesting results. First of all, I created a document in Word 2004 (11.3.5) with two links, one to an external web site and the other to another Word document on my Mac. I then printed the file to pdf and opened the doc in Preview. Neither links were active, although as you have seen they look like a hyperlink. Opening the same document in Acrobat 8, the external link works but the internal link is still not active.
Next, I printed the Word document via the Adobe PDF 8.0 driver. The same result occured as above. The external link was active in Acrobat but not Preview, while the internal link was no good for either application.
I did some searching. Mactopia has no mention of this problem. There is a posting on Macosxhints with the same problem, but no fix. So unless someone else out there has an answer you may be out of luck for your internal link...

  • Printing a document to pdf - words disappear

HELP ...........When I print a document from word, myob or any other program to a pdf, it does not print the hole document.  There are random words or paragarphs missing.  If I uninstall and reinstall the original software this issue goes away.  However as soon as any updates come through I am back to these incomplete pdf.  Sometimes I have had to uninstall and reinstall twice a day.  Has anyone got any ideas.  Is there any sure way to stop my program updating or any other solutions out there.

Use ctrl-D to check for font embedding and let us know the result. Also indicate what job settings file you are using.

  • In windows 8 I can't print to an Adobe PDF printer

Upgraded to windows 8 (forced to) and reloaded Adobe 8.  Even though it created the printer (PDF) it returns a printer error everytime you try to print to it.

Did all the updates thru 8.1.7.  Now it tells me to print the document I need to activate Adobe which I did when I installed it.  Under the Help screen the activation tab is greyed out.  If I did de-activate it on my old laptop I don’t think it would change the state of this tab.

  • Now I can't print to the Adobe PDF printer

At the same time I started having problems updating Acrobat (see my post yesterday, please), my Adobe PDF printer disappeared from system preferences. I've added it back using the help>repair option, but the printer no longer works.
Every time I try to print, the printer pauses, then when I restart it and try to resume the document I get an error...
    Operation could not be completed
    Client-error-not-possible
I've done a complete uninstall/reinstall of the whole Design Standard CS3 suite 3 times now, including removing my prefs and serial number (so starting from scratch), but this error, and the Acrobat updating problem, won't go away.
Please can someone help me on these?
    Thanks, Nige

Try going to Printer Utility and deleting any reference to the adobe Pdf Printer Driver.
Then you find file anlocate all versions of PDF Printer. remove all traces of version Previous to this version.
Now open Acrobat and got to help menu repair and replace and have it repair the Printer Driver again.
Note: PDF Printer does not work within Acrobat nor Reader. only with other applications. (Or at least I've never been able to have it work within Acrobat/Reader.)
