Actionscript created in CS4 not Working in CS5.5 Trial?

I have an interview coming up and decieded to improve some older works to present. The files I am using were created using my schools computers and CS4 Flash and actionscript 3. However, since I do not have a copy of Flash myself, I downloaded the trial of CS5.5 to work with, but the first file I started editing (a simple game where I was going to fix an audio loop) is no longer working as I had previous left it.
The main error I notice is my score counter which is meant to update every frame by 1, but currently I've been seeing it go from 0 to 4 to blank and then resetting.
I did not edit this file since I submitted it, but there are a few errors happening when I run it using CS5.5 Flash. I have my older swf file on my laptops desktop and it runs perfectly. Is this a common occurance with bringing CS4 files into CS5 and CS5.5?
Is there any other information I can give to help?

I've posted to this forum before with questions related to code but no one could help me unless I posted at least the pertinent snippets of code, if not the entire code, so they could see and troubleshoot. If your code is all located on frame 1 and is not too long it would be a good idea to post it to see if other viewers of this post can help.

Dreamweaver CS4 not working under MacOS 10.9

on starting DW CS4 it asks for Java Runtime engine 6, but Mavericks has Java v.7 installed. Since Java 6 was part of the OS of previous systems, I cannot install it seperately, besides it would probably cause conflicts with OS 10.9. Do I have to trash my DW, or is there a workaround.

Want to open Kodak Photo CD files (.PCD) in Photoshop CS5. In CS4 i copied file "Photo CD.8BI" from an older version into the File Format folder. This does not work with CS5. Any fix?

I have several old Kodak Photo CD with PCD image files. I am now using Photoshop CS5. Some years ago while using Photoshop CS4 I copied a file: "Photo CD.8BI" from an older, CS2, version to the Plug-ins/File Format folder of CS4. This does not appear to work with CS5. Any fix?

It can be made to work, but you have to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5, and as I recall there's an additional DLL called pcdlib32.dll that's needed from the old installation.

Photo Edit in CS4 not working

THE SETUP
I have LR 3.3 and PS CS 4 Version 11.0.2 on a Mac running OS X.6.7.
My "About Lightroom" screen reports the presence of Camera Raw 6.3.
In my LR preferences under "External Editing" tab, I have the option to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS4" as PSD / sRGB / 16 bit / rez 300. There is no "Additional External Editor" present.
I have installed in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS4/File Formats the Camera Raw Plug-in version 5.7. When I choose Photoshop>About Plugin>Camera Raw I see that CR version 5.7.0.213 is present.
THE PROBLEM
When I select photo(s) [CR2 file(s)] in LR3 and choose Photo>Edit in> none of the external edit-in-Photoshop options work. First, I get a message saying "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 6.3 for full compatibility."
I resent this suggestion, since that version of Camera Raw only works with CS5.
When I click "Open Anyway," PS opens and loads, but that's it. None of the images from LR appear.
I get the same (non)-results with all of the options (edit in CS4, HDR, panorama, smart object, etc.) under "Photo>Edit In." Photoshop launches, but no image appears.
The only way I can get a photo to open in PS from within LR is to choose Photo>Edit in>Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS4, and then when the warning dialog comes up about the Camera Raw plug-in version, click "Render in Lightroom." When I do that, LR renders the image and it opens in CS4. But that doesn't help me do what I really want to do, which is to select bracketed exposures in LR, merge them to HDR in CS4, and save them back to LR.

Lr 3.3 and CS4 are not fully compatible so your experience is the result of that.
You will have to bite the bullet and upgrade to CS5 if you dont want to "Render in LR".
I've worked for quite a while with LR 3 and CS3 and experienced similar problems - the only way out is that you select "Render in LR".
It's not such a big deal. When you select "Render in LR", Lr creates the psd that then opens in CS4.
With CS5 it works this way: The RAW file opens in CS5 but when you save in CS5 a psd is generated.

My Eye Dropper STILL does not work in CS5 while using Lion with one monitor. How can i fix this?!?

This is my first post because i have grown very disgruntled at the fact that my eye dropper does not work my Premiere CS5. I would use the Ultra Key a lot but now I obviously can not really use it too well because of no eye dropper. I saw that this problem existed after the Lion update but this really should have been fixed by now. I am using only one monitor also. Is there a way to fix this or is this still known to be broken? I paid good money for CS5 and would be very upset if the only way around this is to pay MORE money to upgrade to CS5.5. Thanks.

Thanks for the response Stephen! I find this very bad on Adobe's part though if they do not feel obligated to fix CS5 for Lion. Eye dropper is a major part of Premiere and i am going to be very dissapointed if they do not fix that. With the amount of money the Suite costs, they definitly should make sure it runs well for quite a few years. I would expect a copy of CS4 to be able to work too. If they do not fix CS5 all because the OS has changed basically tells me that every 2 years or so, they stop caring about their product.
Sorry i sound so bitter about this but it has really hurt my workflow. Ultra key is great and something that FCP does not have so it has the edge in that respect, but now i can not even properly use it. I have to go into After Effects with the same clip, use that eyedropper to get the correct color # and then copy and paste the # into Ultra Key in Premiere which is very very annoying and slows down my system quite a bit.
So basically, they are probably not going to ever fix this? Thanks again

Javascript that worked in CS4 not working in CC

I wrote a Javascript tool that creates perspective grids in Photoshop a while ago. It works fine in Photoshop CS4. However, I've been getting a few emails complaining that it does not work in CC. I've checked the CC release of the Javascript in Photoshop reference guide, but it appears that nothing has changed relevant to my code since CS4. Any idea what's happening in PS that is causing this script to fail?

I've changed the script. I now create my path layer using the below function. However, even after explicitly changing the ruler units to PIXELS, the paths I create all seem to be measured in POINTS. Even if the original ruler unit is PIXELS this still happens. Is there any way around this (that is backwards compatable)?

CS4 not working with snow leopard

Has anyone had any issues with CS4 Extended after upgrading to SnowLeopard?
After upgrading to Snow Leopard osx10.6.8, my CS4 will not open. It crashes about 30 sec after i try to open it. I have tried restarting, but with no luck.
Does anyone have any advice for what i can try to do to get CS4 back up and running?

Try this
1. Quit Photoshop CS4
2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
3. Start Photoshop CS4. Photoshop CS4 a new preferences file.
Also repair your permissions with the disk utility.
If that does not work, create a new user account log in to the new user account launch Photoshop CS4.
If it launches then your user account is corrupt or you havde a conflict you will have to find the conflict can be a file in your preferences folder or a login item or fant cache issue etc.

Blending mode in Adobe Premier Pro CS4 not working???

in Adobe Premier Pro CS4, the "multiply" blending feature is not working properly. When there's no video underneath the "blending" layer, it SHOULD not show anything, but instead the clip instead just shows up.

Well, the problem is that you're assuming that the "nothing" in the gaps in your PPro sequence is "something," when really, it actually IS "nothing"...
OK, existentialism aside, when you see black in the Program Monitor that results from a gap between two clips, from a digital standpoint, there really is nothing there. Empty spaces in a PPro sequence are actually a fully transparent layer, created by an alpha channel that encompasses the entire frame. Since the Multiply mode is expecting RGB values to operate on, when it doesn't encounter any (due to the alpha channel) the effect is just ignored--that's why you see the clip with the Multiply mode when it crosses those gaps.
You can correct this by filling your gaps with "real" black, either from an imported graphic or from the black video generator in PPro. Simply edit a bit of it into the gap so that there are no holes, and your multiplied clips will disappear.
And for that matter, it's never a good idea to leave empty holes in a Premiere sequence; it's often the cause of rendering and exporting headaches.

Labels and ratings not working in CS5.1

I cannot get Bridge to allow me to set ratings on a server. Files on my desktop seem to work fine. If I drag a folder TO my desktop, then BACK to the server it also seems to work.
Other than that workaround (which isn't viable as some of the files I need to access have TB worth of images in them), here is what I have tried:
purged the individual cache folder
reset the preferences on restart
purged the cache on restart
deleted the plist file
checked my permissions (set to read-write)
I am running OSX 10.6.8 and using Bridge CS5.1 (have also tried CS5 and CS4 to no avail)
and no matter what I do, I am not able to to apply a rating in the Essentials view. It also does not work by keyboard command (command +5) or by pull-down Label menu.
CS4 will allow me to choose a rating, but as soon as I navigate out of the folder and return, the ratings are gone (even though they did show up in the metatdata view)

This probably means you do not have permission to write to the file on the server. First place to check is write privilages.

PDF created on MAC not working on windows 7

PDF created in Indesign CS6 on MAC is not working properly in Indesign CC on windows 7. I'm using PDF2ID to convert pdf. I'm sending pictures to show how it looks like in InDesign after convertion and in the Adobe Reader. And convertions took so long or crashes my InDesign... What can I do to fix it?

Edit in adobe photoshop cs4 not working

I have Lightroom 2.3 & Adobe Photoshop CS4 installed.
The "edit in adobe photoshop cs4" function is not working for my RAW files (DNG). When I select "edit in adobe photoshop cs4", Photoshop is started up, but it doesn't load anything. It is working for other formats like JPG/TIF/PSD, as an -EDIT version though.
Anyone any idea? Thanks in advance!

Normally, when this happens it's because the version of Camera Raw installed with Photoshop doesn't support your camera. You haven't mentioned which camera you are using, but it's probably worthwhile downloading the latest version of Camera Raw (currently 5.3, but there's a release candidate of 5.4 available from http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Camera_Raw_5.4

Full screen mode PDF created on Mac not working on PC?

I've created a PDF presentation on a Mac in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional with about 80 pages. I've set it to open in full screen mode when viewed, which works fine on Mac when tested. When opened on a PC however, in my clients corporate environment, it does not work? Has anyone else come across this problem or have any suggestions to remedy it? Could it be something to do with the system it is being opened on blocking full screen mode?

It appears Fullscreen mode is based on OS Specifications So you need to reopen on a PC version of Acrobat and set it again.
Looks like they could have both settings in both programs that is a Line that says set full screen mode for Mac PC Unix Linux set for all.

Canon Lide 30 and CS4 -- Not Working Correctly

I've read everything I can find here and still have not found a solution to the following:
I've moved from a G5 to a 2.66 Quad -- PowerPC to Intel. Running 10.5.8 and CS4.
File>Import does not list the Canon Scanner.
Have done everything I've read about:
Uninstalled and re-installed Canon Drivers.
Have Canon Plug-In in CS4>PlugIn>Import/Export
Have Twain from "Goodies" in same folder.
Repaired permissions.
Shut down and started up, again.
The scanner will work using CanoScan and I can set it to open scan in Photoshop.
VueScan works -- I'm using trial version as a test.
Can anyone get this to work through the Import menu?

This is driving me nuts.

the Cannon plugins are probably written for PowerPC. and the default is to not install the TWAIN.plugin its in the goodies folder.
Keep in mind Photoshop has no scanning ability, It uses the plugin to access cannon's stand alone software.
it seems a bit silly to tie up a $1000 application to use a $50 scanner. not many of us use Photoshop to scan with we all use stand alone software I just happen to use VueScan.
