Activate BI content

Hey guys,
i tried to acitvate the BI content using the activity in SPRO but not even the simulation worked fine.
The job crashed with an ABAP DUMP and the message
Name: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
Exception: CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
method: CL_RSO_TLOGO_COLLECTION
then i did the job in background, it crashed again...
the job-log confuses me:
about 30 lines like this: (just different objects)
DS 0TCTBWOSTYP_TEXT zu QS D07110 doesnt exist;
InfoPackage 0PAK_4D6IR4VL7P5NFFOX9KRJYZ4NS not activated
so, some things seem to be missing or do i have to install those objects manually?
i thought, if i got that right, that the activity in SPRO - Activate Business content would be enough and everything should work fine.?
i hope you can help me out to solve that problem

Guru,
Could you share your experience on how to activate business content in BI 7. In 3.x, I used to activate business content based on infosource then crate ods and infocube based on in infosource. Now in BI 7 infosource is no longer necessary. Please share your thoughts of best practice on activate business content in BI 7.

Hi,
To actiavte the objects in the BI content u can select which ever object u want and then select the collection mode as all the objects before and after....
this will ideally activate all the objects that are required for the functionin of the object that you have selected .......
In simpler way....
RSA1-> Business Contents-> Select your objects-> On the right hand side, select "automatic collection" under "collection mode" and Select "before and after data flow" -> Right Click the selected objects on the left hand side and right click -> Insert Objects for collection-> Once the selected objects comes to the right hand side, select "install" and click "install in background".

Error in step Activate BW content for RCA

Hi Experts,
We have upgraded solution manager 7.1 system from SP06 to SP11.
Facing issue in
Solman_Setup -> Basic Configuration -> Configure Automatically -> Activate BW content for RCA.
This step is going to error and not showing any log details in screen.
also ccms_bi_setup job not getting scheduled in the system.
We have performed below steps already:
all previous steps completed sucesfully.
T-code: RSTCO_ADMIN: showing activation sucessful.
Also downloaded latest version for sap roles SAP_BI_E2E and SAP_SM_BI_PROCESS and assigned to user "solman_admin",which is used for performing solman_setup.
Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue.

Hi,
We have generated the profile and did user comparision as well and status is green.
Also logical system and RFC NONE exist and works fine.
I have already done activation along with replicate in RSA1, but issue remains same.
we are not getting any error details ....so there is no clue what is happening.
When execute this step . one background job starts "SMSETUP: DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP" and getting finished.
below is job log for this.

Activate techincal content

If I just want to activate the SPRO -> .. ->BI Administration Cockpit ->Activate Technical Content in SAP NetWeaver BI, do I need to have the following role assign to myself so that I can activate it?
Role S_RO_BCTRA (for executive user)
Role SAP_BW_BI_ADMINISTRATOR (for the end user)

I have activate it in my Development system and dont see any error.
After activation, a new InfoArea Business Information Warehouse is created wit a list of objects - multiprovider, infocube, virtual cube, query, datasource etc.
Also, a new process chain BI Admin Cockpit is created and schedule.
Everything looks OK.
Now, should I transport these objects into Quality and Production system or should activate them manually in Quality, then Production system?
If transport, how can I collect all of these objects correctly?

You can collect and activate all relevant objects from the technical content by selecting role SAP_BW_BI_ADMINISTRATOR and grouping option set to "in data flow before" in the Data Warehousing Workbench -> Modeling -> Business Content.
Can you explain this a bit more?

I only find the reoport RSBCT_BICONTENT_ACTIVATE. But it does not work for SPP
I geht the following message:
Finished starting the activation. Please check the application log with external ID BI Content Installer (SCM)
But in the sm 37 i don't find anything.

Thanks for the time you took to try and help me out.
I can't access the link (even correcting the double '//' or the space in the link.
I've followed your sugesttion and tested it but didn't work. The hover state is always for the top layer (z order) and the hover state of the image fills over the text. If I put the text over, it covers the image. Grouping didn't make a difference.
Maybe I'm getting your indications wrong, but without access to the file, I don't see another way I could have done it any different.

I activate business content data source in crm 2007 , when i go to RSA3, GIVE the data source and checking data, I can not able to find the data in that ,

Activate Flash Content in IE

Hi,
I have a flash content in my webpage, when viewed online
particularly in Internet Explorer, it prompts for User Input to
activate that flash component. I searched in the forums and there
are few Java Scripts available. Few are only IE version specific
scripts.
Is there a common script / method to markup the webpage so
that IE understands that there is a flash content that doesn't
require user input to view or interact with ?

Activate the Content Server for purchasing

Hello,
I want to activate Content Server for PR/PO/RFQ?RFQ/SES/GR/SA/Contract.
Followed the below mentioned step:
1. Configured the "Content Server" using transaction OAC0
2. Created new document class using t-code OAD2
3. Created / Activated new document type and associate the document class (T-code OAC2)
4. Link Object type / Document Type / Content Repository and Link table (t-code OAC3)
But still unable to see the "Store Business Document" navigator enabled in the Services for Object icon for PO (ME21N/ME22N/ME23N)
Can anybody tell me if some thing i've missed out here?

Sap R/3 4.6C - CS630 (patch-lvl15)
We do not use SapDB or MaxDB to store the document on the content server, we store the documents directly in the file system.
Our Content servers run on win2003 servers.
In my company we've currently got 15 different content servers in 10 countries.
We've got one content server and one cache server at each location for one SAP system. One physical server has 2 content servers and 1 cache server. One for our SAP production system and one for our SAP Quality test system. They use the same cache server (first we created 2 cache servers, but it was not possible for SAP to destuingish between the two, so both cache servers got used by both SAP systems)
We have also implemented a couple of add-ons:
1. Conversion and viewserver (by Seal AG). conversion server converts office documents to pdf when documents are released. Currently use only 2 conversion servers, planning to increase when the volume gets larger.
Viewserver adds stamps on pdf-files when you view or print a document.
2. Document Distribution Manager (by CENIT AG). Makes it easy to schedule prefill of cache. Also possible to move documents from one storage category to another. And Rules for transfering documents from one site to another can be made (Ex. "not allowed to move files larger than 20 MB between <certain> sites")
Perhaps I could be of assistance?
BUT, anyway, the reason I post this is because I have problems upgrading my CS630 (lvl15) to CS640 (lvl6).
Asked SAP via an OSS, and they said it was like a regular patching (stop webservice, copy *.dll files, and restart webservice). But when I try this, I can't get contact with the content server via CSADMIN in SAP. I get "HTTP error: 500 Internal Server Error"

Activate Business Content PP

Dear all,
We want to activate the Business Contents for extraction of the SAP module PP. For example we have already activated DataSource 2LIS_04_P_COMP and so on. Right now we are unsure which RMBW-programs and additional jobs have to be activated. Does anybody have a guideline something like this to install these Business Contents fore using PP-extraction?

Activate web content on android also triggers navigation bars

We are about to insert an animation i a folio.
It works beautifully on iPad.
But when testing on android, tapping the frame with the web content, activates navigationbars and stops the animation?

So you think it's the same for HTML content as well as HTML articles?
The only way to know what will work it's to test it on the targeted device.
I think that it's still a good idea to know more about this issue because the Android/Amazon devices are the new frontier for publishers.

Activate Business content - "In dataflow afterwards" or "Only necessary" ?

Hello experts,
I would like to activate the business content for 0FI_GL_1 infosource. I am not sure which method to follow. Can you please advice?
Method 1
AWB --> Business Content --> From the left most frame Clicked on "Object types"
In the right most (3rd) frame set the grouping to "In dataflow afterwards"
In the second frame expanded the "Info sources" and clicked on "Select objects"
In the popup window, searched for "0FI_GL_1" and clicked on "Transfer Datasource"
And then choose "Install" from the right most frame
It activated lot of unnecessary stuff like Infosets, Multi Provider etc
Method 2

Installing the BC is depends upon your requirement.Please see the folowing information regarding BC installment.
In Data Flow Before
If your start point is an InfoCube, all those objects that are in the data flow before the InfoCube, and are therefore necessary for providing data to the InfoCube, are collected. This includes, for example, update rules and InfoSources. So that these objects can be activated, all the corresponding objects required for these objects have to be collected in addition. For activating an InfoSource, InfoObjects may also be necessary which are not contained in the InfoCube and have therefore not yet been collected. However, for these additional objects, the objects that come before them in the data flow are not collected.
In Data Flow Afterwards
For example, if your start point is an InfoCube, all those objects that are in the data flow after the InfoCube, and are therefore reporting objects that serve to display the data stored in the InfoCube, are collected. This includes, for example, queries and Web templates. So that these objects can be activated, all the corresponding objects required for these objects have to be collected in addition. For activating a role, additional workbooks that are based on other InfoCubes may also be necessary. However, for these additional objects, the objects that come after them in the data flow are not collected. These additional workbooks cannot be used for reporting unless they are transferred from the Business Content by some other means.

In Data Flow Before and Afterwards
For example, when using an InfoCube, the objects necessary for activating the InfoCube are collected together with other objects that are required for activating those objects collected as well. This includes objects positioned both before and after the InfoCube in the data flow.
With the InfoCube, all incoming data streams and the evaluation string are activated. Both are then completed with data streams, enabling a complete evaluation in the workbooks.
Collection Mode
Collect Automatically (default setting): The data is collected directly when the objects are selected.
Start Manual Collection: The data is collected only when you click on the Gather Dependent Objects icon.
Set the collection mode to Start Manual Collection. You can then select all objects without having to wait.

How to activate business content extractor for masterdata in ECC 6.0?

Hi Experts,
I have a small problem with the extracttor 0PS_RESPNO_TEXT in ECC 6.0?
If i try to open it in RSA2 / RSA6, it says that active version not available. When i check in the developement system, i have it as modified version.
For this problem, I hope activating this in Development and transporting to Prodction should fix.
As far as i know, activation of sap delivered extractors can be done through SBIW or RSA5. But i have not done this before.
Can anybody please help me with step by step procedure to activate this and also what are the precautions and checks that need to be preformed?

It depends on which BW environment has an RFC connection to the ECC environment you're activating the DataSource in. Typically, environments are paired, similar (but not always) like the depiction below:
ECC Development <-> BW Development
ECC QA <-> BW QA
ECC Production <-> BW Production
Best Practices suggest that a DataSource be activated and put on a transport in the ECC Development environment. Upon activation of the DataSource in ECC Development, replication of the DataSource in the BW Development environment can take place and Best Practices suggest putting the DataSource on a transport in BW. As the ECC transport is promoted throughout the ECC landscape, the BW transport is promoted throughout the BW landscape in order to keep them in sync.
So, if the envrionment that you've just activated the DataSource has an RFC connection to your BW Production environment, you can replicate in BW Production and if that's your standard practice, then that's the way your should do it. It's typically, however, not considered a Best Practice to be able to create, update or delete in a production environment.

How to activate business content for 0TCA_DS01

I need to set up authorizations in netweaver BI using the following objects:
0tca_ds01
0tca_ds02
0tca_ds03
0tca_ds04
0tca_ds05
I've looked at trxn RSA5 in our HR system, but I'm not able to identify the datasources that feed the 0tca_ds0* objects. What are the HR datasources for these objects?

I put my thoughts in here..
For any Analysis authorizations (HR & CO) currently available -prerequisite is extractor available in R/3.
To my knowledge the only available extractors for HR are
0HR_PA_2 HR Structural Authorizations- Values
0HR_PA_3 HR Structural Authorizations - Hierarchies
and the relative DSO for aforementioned DS are -
0PA_DS02 and 0PA_DS03.
I would like SAP to answer the same.
CO -
the datasource available is 0CO_OM_CCA_USER1.
A complete scenario is available. Transfer the content objects: 0CO_OM_CCA_USER1 (DataSource and InfoSource), as well as the DataStore objects including update rules 0CCA_001, 0CCA_002, 0CCA_003.

Process to activate BI Content

Hi All
I'm having issues while activating BI Content InfoObjects. Kindly endorse if the following steps are correct?
1. We have activated DataSources (RSA5) in Source System
2. We then transferred Application Hierarchy (RSA9) in Source System
3. In BI System (RSA1) under Modeling - DataSource, we replicate repository
However, no data source is shown.
We have BI_CONT 7.05 as an add on in our source system
What could be the issue?

Thank you for your replies.
I tried activating all data sources through the provided abap code, however the issue remains exists. When I simulate installation of the following InfoObjects, the program shows errors:
InfoObjects:
0CCA_CHA01 CCA: Characteristics
0CCA_KYF01 CCA: Key Figures
Errors:
Data source 0CRM_BPSALESCL_ATTR not maintained (and many others)
However, I 've checked the data source in source system and found activated. Also in BI system, I checked the same through RSDS which says its available in source system.
