Activation of Acrobat Pro XI error with valid serial number?

During activation of my Acrobat Pro XI the error message appears:
"Serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer"
When I scroll "Product" pop-up menu, there is not Acrobat XI Pro...

You have purchased (or received) an upgrade. You must now prove you own Acrobat 9 or Acrobat X, by giving the serial number of your older (qualifying) product.

    Pam, Thank you!  the problem is not finding the serial number.  I have that by looking up my registration.  The problem I am having is when running set up for the program you get to the serial number screen.  I enter the serial number as emailed and verified by my account, then proceed with the 'next" button.  That is when I receive the message, invalid serial number not a valid serial number go back and reenter.  I try to reenter and still the same message. 
    Any other suggestions or do you know how to actually speak to a representative?  If not it is time to scrap my new Adobe purchase and go back to Nuance's programs.

    When I install Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 x64 I recieved the error message invalid serial number.  I have called  and verified that the number is valid.  This serial number is part of the CS 5 Design suite.  The application will install in the trail mode but will not license.  I have used the CD and downloaded the application from the adobe web site.

    OK I have figured it all out.
    You buy Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design premium Student and Teacher edition.
    You go to the Order Fulfillment page http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/order_fulfillment.html
    You click on "Get you serial number"
    (log in if you aren't already)
    You enter all the information and attach your student ID etc, selecting your product as the design premium, and you get a support request raised. Within a few days you get a serial number for CS5 Design Premium (mine took 7 minutes to get).
    But you need to repeat this process, entering all the same information, but choose Acrobat 9 Professional as the product. It then sends you a serial number on the second case you raised.
    By this time, I had installed Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, so I entered the serial number in and it all worked, then I clicked on Help - Registration and it all went through okay.

    I bought PSE 13 in box with a CD. It has an activation code but it says to get a serial number on www.adobe. When I open my account, it says add a new product then enter code, I enter the 24 digit code (alpha and numbers) i have on a card in the package but it says the number is not valid.     Thanks, unfortunately, I already followed that procedure as it was written on the box containing the disk.
    A card inside the box said : obtaining the serial number : 1) go to ... www.adobe.com/go/getserial (OK done) 2) use the code joined (a code included is written "ACTIVATION CODE") 3) note the serial number that will appear 4) use the serial number.
    The procedure shows : Register your product at Adobe (OK I clic) then it opens my account, it says (plus) + Register new product : (OK, I clic)   then appears : "Enter your product serial number,  since I dont have the SERIAL number, that I'm supposed to receive, I enter the Activation code : 55Y3- C4A2 etc   maybe the problem is this, but I doubt : there is a 4 digit like this : 78O(O with a cross bar)D and next - 6F80 (look like zero, without the cross bar)- then 4 other digits.  then it shows in blue color : Please enter a valid SERIAL number.  I have tried 0 (zero) and o (letter O) nothing works.  What I dont understand is that it is supposed to give me the serial number and why is it asking me ? I tried different manners
    . I tried to get support on the week end it said mondy to friday, OK I treid this afternoon it was written : no chat available)

  • Acrobat Pro reinstall won't accept serial number.

    I have an iMac running Yosemite. I had to reinstall Adobe CS3 suite on a partition because I have some files that I need to keep the older software for, but when I open the program Acrobat Pro after the install, which went OK, it says my serial number is not valid. I also entered the serial number for the previous version of Acrobat Pro, and the serial number for CS2, but still get the same message. All the other programs opened OK and accepted the serial number, and I have reinstalled before on both Snow Leopard and Mavericks with no problem.  Any thoughts on the problem would be appreciated.   • Adobe Acrobat Pro-7 Re-installation - Lost Serial Number

    I've had Acrobat Pro-7 for years.  I don't use it often, but when I do, it is invaluable.  Recently, I had to run the "re-installation" routine, found in a separate folder for that purpose.  After re-installing the program (which was successful) the program now puts up an error box stating "No valid Acrobat serial number found.  Acrobat will now quit".  I have my serial number, which is also available on my Adobe Account, but I have no way to enter it.  How can I start Acrobat in a way that will allow me to activate it or enter my serial number??  I no longer have the original media from the purchase done years ago.     I am trying to move a fully licensed/registered version of Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium to a new computer, but since it was an upgrade from CS 4 Design Premium the installer says that it cannot find the software that allows it to be an upgrade.     Please contact Customer Care at 8008336687 and they would be able to unlock the serial number for you.
    Since you said you owned a previous version and you lost the serial number, you can log on to your Adobe account online and check for purchased softwares.
    Else if the software was registered the support agent would be able to retrieve that information with the email used to register the software.

    I see that the number in my Adobe Account is a MAC serial number – I purchased both the Mac and Windows versions of the program. I tried to enter the serial number of the Windows version into my account and it says it’s already registered.     Must have been a font or something causing the problems, as opening in safe mode allowed the software to install correctly.

  • Problems activating the Acrobat Pro part of the CS 4 software.

    I am having problems activating the Acrobat Pro program which is part of the Academic Version of CS4 -Design Premium that I bought. Once I finally got most of CS4 activated (and that had several problems as well!), I just kept getting the request to fill in my serial number. Each time I tried using the only Serial Number I had been issued, I would see imediatly a red "X" to the right of the "incorrect" serial number, along with a message that my time using the software had expired.
    I have called and E-mailed Adobe several times now, and tried all of Adobe's suggestions: removed certain files, uninstall everything and the reload from the begining, do both, etc. So far, nothing has worked. As I said all the other probrams are now activated, but the only thing activated right now is my level of frustration with Acrobat Pro. Can anyone help me on this? I would really appreciate it.

    You do not activate Acrobat from the suite. You activate another program in the suite, then Acrobat should be activated. If you are having a problem, then I recommend de-activating, uninstalling everything. Run the CS4 clean script: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
    But on the offhand chance it is a license problem you can try this first: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html
