Activation of DSO: Message No. RSM096

Hi,
After having deleted a request in the PSA, I can no longer activate the data in the target DSO.
Get the error message:
"Request XXXXX (XXXX) for DataSource X from source system XXX has the status green and a lesser SID (and is therefore older) than the request that you currently want to update into the DataStore object. This is not possible because the sequence of requests has to be followed."
I've tried deleting all subsequent requests in the PSA and the DSO, and then reloading the data from the source system, but still get the same error message with the same request-id.
Anyone who knows how this problem can be solved? The request had only been loaded to the PSA, and not (successfully) to the DSO before I deleted it.

Hi,
The error message clearly tells that the request was removed without turning the status as red.
To resolve the issue -->
1) Copy the request from error message.
2) Run RSRQ and enter this request.
3) Make the status red.
4) Now try activating the DSO .
If issue is still not resolved after this, revert back.

Hi raj,
The error message clearly tells that you are not authorized...some of the authorization object is missing from ur profile...check the missing Auth object and get it add to ur ID.
do the following... try to activate the DSO once again ... you will get the message again
now enter transaction SU53 -- and click ok -- it will display the missing auth object from ur profile.
if it does not display any thing try to run the authorization trace using ST01 transaction ... to get the missing auth object.

Below is the error i am getting while activating the DSO, Even though similar post on this topic, solution not mentioned, any solution greatly appreciable.

Diagnosis
Failed to store data records persistently. Possible causes are:
You tried to save a record that is already stored in the database.
This error only occurs with DataStore objects with option "Unique Data Records".
A unique index was created for the table of active data.
You can check this in the Data Warehousing Workbench by choosing "Display" for the DataStore object and opening the "Indexes" folder.
There is a technical problem on the database.

I am also getting the same error like i have loaded the data into DSO and tried to activate the init request but it has become red and checked in log found that there are some SID Generation errors so please give me the step by step solution.

Activation of DSO failing frequently in process chain..

Hello Friends..
I need your ppl experience and help, in investigating an issue, we have a process chain, in which the activation of DSO is failing frequently, i have checked the log messages..but it gives no clue, it just displays the message that " Activation of M records from DataStore object ZCS_O01 terminated " and even when i try to check process monitor, it displays message " No log entry available for Datastore Object", i have even checked the st22 for short dumps,there also i could find no log entries..
This chain runs for every four hours...but it works fine some times automatically, but fails at least two-three times every day.
So could you ppl please help me...in further investigation..that where should i check...and try to trace the prob..

Hi Raghuram,
It can be due to lack of process or the activation process is timing out. Look for available background process in SM50 while activation is going on.
Also Check the ODS Object Customising settings
ODS-Manage->Goto(menu)-->Customising Datastore-DataStore Specific-> (YOur DSO Name)
and try to increase the timeout time for activation ,,,,,Just optimise these settings according to your system.

my basic objective is to load data covering characterstics and key figures(I have no idea whether to take write optimise or std etc)
into dso
for this I have done the following
1. infoarea
2. info ob cat for char and key
3. info objects 1. customerid --- char (no additional attribute)
2. price --- key (USD)
3. source system
4. ac and DS
5. activated the ds and preview data---- ok
6. created DSO and added the two info objects customer id under symatic key and price under data fields
version showing as in process
then activated and noticed that its not activating and showing as object status not activated.
1. If this is wrong, pl tell me the steps in this regard, if possible step by step screenshots
2. without activation, can I go ahead for the remaining steps

SID Generation Error while activating the DSO.

Hello Gurus,
Am trying to load the data to a dso in FIGL, the data is getting loaded to the dso very fine, this is extracting data of 1700000. But the problem is while activating the dso it throws an error "Activation of M records from DataStore object.
In dump error, DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
SQL error in the database when accessing a table.
So please advice me to solve this problem would be appreciated and reward points.

Hello Arun kumar,
That's easy you have errors in the field 0REF_KEY3.
Since it is a DSO it let's you load everything but in the time of the activation it complains!
The system is trying to generate a new SID for the master data of the InfoObject 0REF_KEY3 with that value (or values) and since it has garbage on it (invalid characters like "!", etc.) it gives you that short dump.
Try to find that record, change it in PSA and reload the request again.
TCode-E3//Rec.Typ-CO
The system don't like that string for generating the SID. Try to eliminate "//" and "." from it. (for test purposes you can simple change it to nothing and see if it passes the load and activate again)
Try to see if you have more records like those and fix them too.
That should work.

In Process Chain Activation of DSO is falling

In the Process chain the activation of DSo is falling but when I go and check the in the Manage DSo.
The Data is activated and available for reporting.
I dont know why in the Process chain the activation of DSO is falling ?

It depends on background job resource availability at the time of DSO Activaton. Also check the settings of the variant DSO Activation process for each DSO activation and make it separate with number of processes to 2 for activation.
Save the changes and activate it. Should work correctly now.

I am not able Activating the DSO

Hi BW guru`s,
I have a problem with standard DSO. I have loaded Transactional Data from Flat File (CSV) to Standard DSO. After loading data I have been trying to Activating the DSO, but I could not able to activate. I could able see the data in NEW Data table. when I am trying to activate, the request ID could turned into red. I do not know why I am getting this error.
These are the Characteristics (National Customer, Sales Organization, Brand, Calyear) and Keyfigures (Sales, Volume) which I used in DSO.
Does anybody help in this and I will assign some good points.

It generally happens......If u have run InfoPackage several time...such error is expected...
Do one thing.....just log out and Log in once again...
Schedule ur load thr' Infopackage....
It will definitely help.....
And yes when you will activate particular request....click the option below the activate button........"dont condense the request...."

Improve the performance of the data activation on DSO.

Hi,
I would like to improve the performance of the data activation on DSO. 1000 records should be uploaded by 10 minutes.
Now it takes 10 minutes to activate data in DSO. And it is strange that it takes long time ( about 9 minutes) before starting activation.
ex :
in the request task log of the activation:
data activation 15:10:00
main process 15:10:01
technical status 15:10:21
But activation is started at 15:01:00 here. (this is started via process chain).
I have no idea why it takes so long time and how I can improve.

Try this also.
1. Remove Bex Reporting check box in ODS if not required.
2. Goto manage ODS -> activate -> activate in parallel -> increase the number of processes from there.For direct access try TCode RSODSO_SETTINGS. Not sure this is possible in your case.

No active correlations for message

Hi,
I am working on a BPM scenario. I Receive 3 different messages which I merge later in the process. I can see that the first received message is processed but the following messages get stuck in the inbound queue with a error message "permanent error in BPM" or something like that. Also I saw an error message which says "No active correlations for message".
My BPM steps seem alright. I activated the correlation in the send step and used it in the receive step. Also defined it in the block as Local Correlation.
sxi_cache status is "0". no problem there.
Do you have any idea what the problem is?
By the way after i tried it a number of times the inbound error throw another error.
"Warning: EM-Memory exhausted: Workprocess gets PR
IV / Permanent error i"

First of all,
Run SWWL transaction in order to delete all the Work items involved with you Integration Process.
Then,
Check your correlation.
If you recieve 3 different messages and you dont know the order they came, the correlation should be
activated with the first message (first reciver step). But in the other two message you need to indicate which correlation must be used. I think you should use a fork with three receiver steps and in these
reciever steps you need to activate you correlation and use the correlation.

I am having the same problem, and my computer is authorized through my Adobe ID and I cannot open any books. I tried downloading a book from the university library, using my ID, the book is in ACSM format, and I cannot open the book because it keeps telling me

Error Message for currency (0Currency) during activation of DSO

Hi guys,
data which is transfered from datasource to dso contains an value " * " for currency which is unknown for some key figures.
During the activation of the data in DSO an error is appearing: No SID for value " * " of characteristic 0Currency found.
Is there some solution for that error available?
I checked the values for currency which are stored in 0Currency master data. There is one value for empty currency.
I thought one solution is to remove the " * " currency in ERP, then the currency will not have the " * " value and no error would appear in BW.
The other is to create a new InfoObject for currency and add the value " * " in master data. Then with the assignment of the new currency InfoObject also an error should not appear.
Any ideas about that?

I think this has nothing to do with TCURR because there is the currency conversion maintained. And for SPRO i don´t have authorization and I think that an currency with * would not make sense to enter it via SPRO as a currency code.

Error while activating in DSO, FIGL, only some months

Dear Colleagues!
I have an activation problem in an ODS, three differnt months loaded isolatedreturns with error when I activate. The error only occurs in June, July and august of 2004. 2005, 2006, 2003, 2002, 2001 and the rest of 2004 loads and activates fine!

How do I check the fiscal year variant? By the way it is only for 2004 (june, july, august). The other years transfers and activates ok.
In my transformation 0FISCVARNT is filled out by the R/3 field FISCVAR. I can try to set it to contant value K1 and load again to see if it will activate.

ERROR: The object is locked by user RFCUSER.
We tried to go to sm12 to see the List.
We have two entries in the list related to that DSO.
Please suggest.

Hi Maxban,
There are two options for you.
1. Wait till the lock is released and repeat your DSO Activation step.
2. Delete the lock and repeat your DSO Activation step. To delete the lock on an entry, select the object in SM12 > Lock Entry(Menu) > Delete. If you are not authorized to delete the lock, get it deleted from your Basis team.
Waiting or Deleting your lock entry depends on your data load priority.
