ActivationAgent in bpel.xml and Quartz Scheduler

Hi,
i have added to bpel.xml to schedule my BPEL process.
<activationAgent className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent"
partnerLink="FileFtpInboundPL" heartBeatInterval="10">
<property name="schedulerCallout">DefaultSchedulerCalloutImpl</property>
<property name="endpointScheduleOn">0 1 * * * ?</property>
<property name="endpointScheduleOff">0 2 * * * ?</property>
</activationAgent>
Can anybody tell me like
what is role of quartz scheduler in this case?
Is this above code related to quartz scheduler?
what is the BPM concept befing this scheduling property?
Thanks inadvance. It would be great help.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
Yes,bpel.xml is replaced by composite.xml but i was talking about sceduling the BPEL processes through bpml.xml files.
The example of which is given in following URL but is related to 10.x version and not 11G:

    I went through the old documents but they talk configuring on OC4J and to configure bpel.xml but i don't see any bpel.xml in SOA11G. Also the application server used now is Weblogic 10.3.1.

  • Fault Bindings using BPEL.xml

    Hi
    I have a peculiar problem with fault bindings. I have a webservice from target application hosting two different operations. I need to have the fault policy being applied to one operation and the other operation should not have any fault policy defined on it.
    I tried in the following way.
    Approach 1. In Fault Bindings.xml i have added the entry for the operation for which policy needs to be applied.
    This is working fine as expected.
    Approach 2. I have added the entries in bpel.xml and fault-bindings does not contain any entries related to this operation. In this approach the problem am facing is for both the operations the policy is getting applied.
    I need to go with the second option as all my bpel processes have fault policies at the bpel level instead of domain level.
    Can any one give me some clue on this
    Thanks
    Vamsi

    Entries in BPEL.XML file
    <faultPolicyBindings>
    <partnerLink faultPolicy="EAIFaultPolicy"/>
    <name>BSNLUpdateCollectionStatus</name>
    <portType xmlns:CollectionProvCreateSO="http://siebel.com/asi/">CollectionProvCreateSO:BSNLUpdateCollectionStatus</portType>
    Entries in Fault Binding.xml has been removed for this
    One observation i had is both the WSDLs has same SOAP Address location but the operation names are different.
    Does this have any impact for this kind of behaviour
    Thanks

  • Creating a Web Service to handle flow between BPEL process and XML Gateway

    I am new to Web Services. I have never created one, yet I have the task of designing the following for a project.
    Any help as to what steps I need to take would be very very helpful. There is a lot of information on XML, SOA and WSDL out there that it can get very confusing, and sometimes you just need someone to point the way
    What I need to do is create a Custom Send and a Custom Receive Program (both web services) handle the message flow between an Enterprise BPEL processes and a Deployed XML Gateway.
    BPEL compresses this XML business object document (for faster transmission), and sends remotely to this Custom Receive web service, which in turn calls a decompress java program and then send the document to the XML gateway inbound web service.
    The Custom Send web service does just the opposite. It needs to take the business object document from XML gateway, call the compress java program and then send to the Enterprise BPEL.
    In a nutshell...these Custom Send/Receive Web services handle the message flow between the Enterprise BPEL process and the Deployed XML Gateway.
    What I need help on...
    -Creating this in JDeveloper- where do I get started?
    -How does a web service receive a compressed file sent to me via BPEL? Does it just sit there waiting for it?
    -Is this a synchronous or asynchronous design?
    -Will this be 2 web services (Send and Receive) or do I make 1 with 2 functionalities
    -How do I call the java compress/decompress program within the web service? (this java function is already created and ready to be called)
    -Is this decompressed business object file an XML schema and an XML message? Or just a message?
    -I need to send this to the XML Gateway Web Service to load. How does that work?
    -I have a Generic XML Gateway WSDL file...I assume I need to take all the info I get and map it to this template? Is this true? How do I do that?
    Like I said, any help would be appreciated. Links answers to my many questions would be fabulous.

    If you are talking about simple XML transformation of the SOAP payload between the client calling your service and the final destination of the message you are routing, the ESB approach may be a better fit.
    If you have more complex transformation in mind, with major processing and rework of the message in the intermediary, you may be better of with using the POJO approach. Write your service and embed a callout to the other service in your implementation. If the two services share the same Java Model, you may even be able to re-use the same Java Bean.
    To get SOAP Element instead of Java bean, you just need to use the noDataBinding option with either genProxy and topDownAssemble (or assemble). See the WS-Guide [1] for details. Chapter 18 will give you all the details about the different WSA command line parameters.
    Hope this helps,

    None of those roles are intended to be granted to application users. Those are instead to limit various operational / support responsibilities. For instance, if you have "operators" for your production environment who are responsible for starting & stopping servers vs "Administrators" who are performing configuration changes, etc.
    The SOA* versions can be used to separate even further - an "Operator" ( with rights in the WL console ) can be distinct from a "SOAOperator" ( with rights in the SOA /em ), etc.

  • Quartz Scheduler in Oracle SOA 10g clustered environment

    Hi,
    I was able to successfully test the usage of Quartz scheduler in our Oracle SOA 10g dev environment. Our dev is single instance where as our Test and Prod are clustered. I would like to know if the scheduler works in clustered environment. I wasn't able to find any documentation specific to Quartz for Bpel. If it can be done can you provide some guidance.
    I really appreciate your help
    Jagan.

    Jagan
    The schedulers do work on cluster environment. The trick is that every node has its oc4j containers, so you will need to deploy the scheduler process to every node in the cluster.
    Suppose you have two nodes, and have a requirement to run certain process every two hours. You schedule the process in DEV environment to run every two hours. But in cluster you will specify to run every four hours on both the nodes. In simple explanation, node 1 will fire the process at 0,4,8, ... hours and node 2 will fire at 2, 6, 10, ... hours. So, the result is that your process is still running every two hours.
    Hope this will help ...

  • RejectedMessageHandlers property, can we use it 2 times in bpel.xml file

    hi'
    I have a XML file to read, if the file is incorrect then I am calling another BPEL process to catch the error by the below code
    inside the bpel.xml file
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <BPELSuitcase>
    <BPELProcess id="TestFileRead" src="TestFileRead.bpel">
    <partnerLinkBindings>
    <partnerLinkBinding name="ReadFile">
    <property name="wsdlLocation">ReadFile.wsdl</property>
    </partnerLinkBinding>
    </partnerLinkBindings>
    <activationAgents>
    <activationAgent className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent" partnerLink="ReadFile">
    <property name="portType">Read_ptt</property>
    *<property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">bpel://default|GetRejectedMessageBPEL|initiate|payload</property>*
    *<property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">file:///abc/test/fail</property>*
    </activationAgent>
    </activationAgents>
    </BPELProcess>
    </BPELSuitcase>
    Now what I want to do is, I also want to move the rejected file to different directory something like this,
    *<property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">file:///abc/test/fail</property>*
    however If I put both the property inside the bpel.xml file then only one is working which is the later one i.e. it simply ignores the first one. My requirement is, I also want to move the rejected file to different directory, please tell me how this can be achieved, where I want to move the error file to other directory and pass the error details to other BPEL process.
    thanks
    Yatan

    If that is the case...
    do what you are doing in second BPEL in first BPEL catch block and use the property to move the file to folder.
    Ohhhh... Sorry.... It will not go to catch right....

  • Quartz Scheduler

    Hi all ,
    We have a requirement to implement Scheduler to our BPEL Processes ,
    Can any one help me out in this .
    Any document for Quartz Scheduler .
    Thanks,
    Karthik

    The pdf document from Oracle suggests putting the scheduler on Admin server, maybe because the developer was using SOA Suite for developers.
    However, if we have Admin Server and SOA Server separate (typically the case in an organisation), then is it advisable to deploy the scheduler on SOA Server instead of Admin server. Has anybody faced any issues.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Quartz Scheduled Application not working. Please help...

    Hi All,
    I have deployed a WAR file which has implemented Quartz Scheduler to run a job.
    There were no errors in the whitelist scan, but while deploying I found an error in the server log as shown below
    "BEA-000903 [Net]" "Incident Error"
    I could not make out what the error was, but I am using a listener class to run the scheduler as below in my web.xml.
    <listener>
      <listener-class>com.crmit.scheduler.QuartzSchedulerListener</listener-class>
    </listener>
    Can anyone please advice??
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Can you please check your service logs to see what errors are reported in the logs. The Logs can be accessed using Java Service Console,

  • Deployment Queries related to Quartz Scheduler for SOA 11g???

    Dear All,
    We are using Quartz Scheduler for SOA 11g and have queries on its testing:
    1. Can we change the cron expression(say, previously cron expression was with the interval of 15 minutes every hour and we are changing it to 5 minutes every hour) in the scheduler table after we deployed the scheduler application? Should this require redeployment of Scheduler Application or the scheduler java class needs to be be run again to trigger the newly updated cron expression. Or, Will commiting the scheduler details table alone update the application to schedule for every 5 minutes in an hour?
    2. Also, if we are trying to schedule a new application(say, previously only 2 of our applications are scheduled and trying to add newly built application in the Scheduler table), will commiting the table alone will schedule the new application or require redeployment of Scheduler Application or the scheduler java class needs to be be run again?
    Please share your thoughts!
    Thanks in advance

    Were you able to control the frequency from the table. Can you please share the detials..

  • Eclipse BPEl Designer -Changes to bpel.xml not saved

    Hi
    Is it possible to save changes made to bpel.xml file while using Eclipse? I was trying to set up preference properties in that file.
    Any say?

    According to our experience, JDEV BPEL Designer encoutered the same problem, you'd better modify the bpel.xml descriptor using external editor such as ultraedit, and save it.
    Modification of bpel.xml works fine for the first time, but often rolled back to the former edition once I restart the JDEV designer. Guess it is a bug.

  • Setting Preferences in bpel.xml

    Hi again, in the bpel.xml you can configure preferences
    for setting value pair properties that are defined in the deployment descriptor of a BPEL process and can be accessed at runtime by the BPEL process
    eg
    <BPELSuitcase>
    <BPELProcess id="test" src="test.bpel">
    <preferences>
    <<property name="myConstant">50</property>
    </preferences>
    </BPELProcess>
    </BPELSuitcase>
    Is there a way this can also be done at the domain level,
    where you can set preference values that can be accessed by all deployed processes? We are basically want to set global runtime "constants" which can be altered and maintained from the BPEL console for all deployed processes.
    thanks
    -Sean

    Thanks Edwin.
    I have a chicken and egg problem here in that I want to set up a list of global values
    that apply to all deployed processes. So I run something like
    ora:doc("http://www.bpel.com:9700/wscommon/globalparams.xml", "/configuration/MaxValue").
    This works fine, however I need to hardcode the full url of the file which is deployed to
    get it to get it too work.
    Is there a way of either accessing this domain wideglobal file relatively such as either
    -ora:doc("/wscommon/globalparams.xml", "/configuration/MaxValue")
    -ora:doc("../wscommon/globalparams.xml", "/configuration/MaxValue")
    -ora:doc("%hostname%/wscommon/globalparams.xml", "/configuration/MaxValue")
