Active network mobile turned off on lumia 525

I just happened to update my phone to windows 10 phone preview and from then on my phone is not detecting the sim card.. even the sim settings is un-clickable... ?

There are many known and unknown issues with the Preview Builds .. so there isn't anything that can be done other than providinfg the feedback to Microsoft. If you have read the terms before enrolling yourself, this is made very clear.

  • My airport doesn't manually shut down: airport icon is off, but activity monitor shows lots of packets still flowing. Its not my activity- all updates turned off. Virus?

I'm running a Macbook Pro circa 2007 with OSX 10.6.8 and Firefox 27.0.1, and just had a circumstance that really puzzled me. I have a Hughesnet satellite modem with wireless router that I connect to via the airport, and I use Little Snitch software in the demo mode so I know and have to approve which software can send info through the internet connection., but the demo mode had just timed out and terminated and within a half hour of that the computer fans started speeding up to max and the CPU got blazing hot (+200 degF).
Worried, I looked at the activity monitor and it was showing lots of internet activity even though I wasn't doing anything on the internet at the time, and I have all my software updates set to manual because otherwise they would use up my allotted daytime bandwidth and leave none for me. I'd already completed manual software updates during the nightly free time recently. Fearing my computer was hijacked & out of my control, I turned the airport off to terminate the internet connection, BUT IT DIDN'T TURN OFF, and though the indicator in the top right of the screen said it was off, packets were still streaming back & forth like crazy on the activity monitor, and the poor thing was still overheating. So I rebooted the computer, and when it came back up there was no internet activity, and things started cooling down, back to normal again.
Though I'm no techie, this seems to me like my computer has been hijacked by some virus that has taken control of the airport and is feeding me lies about the internet connection status, so that it can use my computer for sending out its own messages. Has anyone heard of a virus that prevents the airport from being turned off, and what should I do about it? I'm afraid to back up my data with my time machine, though its been months since that was done, for fear I'd overwrite a virus-free state of the time machine files with a virus laden one, but I also hate to do something to clean up the machine without backing up my files, and lose a bunch of data. Is there virus protection software that could surgically search out and remove only the virus from my machine and leave most everything else untouched?
    Any advice is welcome,
    Christina

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try Changing the Airport Channel
Open AirPort Utility, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder on a computer using Mac OS X.
Select the device you’re setting up, and then click Manual Setup. Enter the base station password if necessary
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
Choose a new channel from the Channel pop-up menu.

  • Can I use GPS while the data and cellular networks are turned off?

Here's the deal: I am traveling on the Alaska Highway from Alaska, through Canada, to the lower 48 states. AT&T has advised me that while I am in Canada I will be charged 79 cents a minute for airtime and 2 cents per kilobyte for data. Ouch. Given this, I intend to turn my iPhone on "airplane mode" while in Canada, so I don't accidently fetch mail, or do some other thing which would load data at the cost of 2 cents per KB.
BUT! I would like to be able to take pictures with my iPhone 3G and have them tagged with location by the GPS. Everything I have read indicates that GPS is turned off when the phone is in Airplane Mode.
So, my question is: can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone? With the new Places feature in iPhoto, I'd really hate to have 2,000 miles worth of photos and no location data to go with them, ya know?

Tamara, thank you. Of course I already did that, and no, they are not geotagged. Which is why I specifically phrased my question, "can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone?"
In other words, is there SOME WAY--ANY WAY--to turn GPS back on, like you can with Wi-Fi? Or maybe there is some way, any way, to turn off all the cellular functions only, while leaving the GPS receiver on?
I am aware of the "Data Roaming" setting in the Network settings. I have always had that turned off, but I cannot experiment with that setting, as I am not in an area where roaming would occur.
I'm just hoping to avoid a surprise huge bill due to GPS grabbing some data or relying somehow on the cellular network, and am hoping to know if anyone has any experience with these issues. At 2 cents per KB, an average email would cost $1 to download. I have no idea what kind of data flies back and forth when GPS is used, or if the ONLY data received by GPS is from the navsat system. I seem to recall that iPhone GPS also relied somewhat on cellular data, though for photo geotagging it probably shouldn't have to.
I apologize if I was not clear in my questions.
Thanks so much for your help!

  • "Activation Required" after turning off

So I turned my phone off and turned it back on as I was told that would help with the slowness but the moment I turned it on it said "Activation Required." It only shows the screen with the wire attaching to iTunes.
Is there any fix or reason for this?
    Thanks

That symbol is the "connect to iTunes" symbol.  Not sure what caused it, but you need to connect it to your computer and iTunes and it should pop up saying "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.   You must restore this phone..."  Then, you just restore it (hopefully you have a backup to restore from!!!) and it should work as normal after that.

  • Mac wireless network never turns off

I have an odd thing going on with my MacBook Pro. I turn it off, like completely off, and put it in my briefcase and go to work. Yet when I get there, people with WiFi-enabled computers can see a WiFi network with my name on it! The computer's off. What is going on?

I believe you when you say it's off, looks off, should be off, but on the other hand, even if say the Wireless card somehow had power by itself, (maybe jarred loose a bit or something), I don't think it could advertise itself without the CPU, RAM, & HD all having power, all be up & running, (maybe a low power state?), and even the OS loaded! Somehow... no real idea how, but I think it's only partially shutting down.
When you turn it on at work, does it start up normally with the gray apple and so on? How long does it take to start up?
If you pull the Battery, how long does it take to startup after that?

  • What causes 8310 network to turn off

It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while I'll notice there are no e-mails and the signal display is no longer visible. When I check the network connection (AT&T), it's off. What might be the cause for this?

This has been an issue for quite some time across all devices and carriers.  As long it's not happening that often I wouldn't worry about it.  Just turn it back on.  Do make sure that your device's OS is up to date.  Check with your carrier for the latest handheld software for your device.

  • Network Card turned off and Power regression issues.

    Hello,
Can any one please help me setup wifi/ethernet on my Thinkpad t420? It has Intel Wifi Link 1000 BGN. If i am not wrong it is suppose to work by default. How and what modules do i have to load to turn on my wifi card? I know how to make wpa_supplicant work.
Their are power regression issues with linux kernel. How can i make pacman to not to upgrade to latest kernel releases?
    Thanks.
PS:- I have done research but couldn't come find an answer. Sorry if this question has been asked many times.

Check http://intellinuxwireless.org/?n=Downloads for intel wifi drivers
Pacman should not syncronize system wide missing packages unless specified with the -u [OPTION] on the -S [SYNC] argument, see the man pages on pacman.

Also make sure you have done all the stuff on wireless setup in the beginner guide, it is very comprehensive

  • Mobile turn off itself, redlight still beeps

Hey guys ! I need some help here. I have just bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 and I have  a problem with it. Sometime when someone call me, the screen goes totally black, but the red light still beeps. I can’t do anything while  the screen is black. It stays black for a while,5 or 6 second and the  screen  is back again This is  very  frustrating .Can anyone figure the problem ?

    keep trying it again.
Plug the USB cable in the device and then run the cmd line file and see what happens.
This process is pretty good at saving devices. Be patient and try it with the battery in, and with the battery out.

  • Desktop turned off but wireless connection stay active?

I have a Linksys WRT54G Broadband Router and have it connnected to my Cable modem thru my desktop. My question is this I thought my deskptop would always need to be on for the wireless connection to stay active but I turned off my desktop and I still have a wireless connection with my laptop. Is this normal? I do not know much at all about networks. If it is normal why did I need to do all the setip stuff on the desktop? Thanks for any info on this.

OK, that makes more sense. It's not going through your desktop at all. So it doesn't matter whether your desktop is turned on or off, or even if you've sold it on eBay.
Well, it doesn't matter until you want to use it. Then it does...

  • Does turning off Cell Network Search effect my voice calling?

You can find out the answer yourself.

  • Can't turn off data roaming for my Samsung mini

I am traveling in Germany and when I arrived I was able to select no data roaming for my trip, but now it has reactivated and I can't turn it off. Any ideas?

I sure hope that this is not impacting your trip while in Germany! There is the option to turn of Mobile Data altogether: Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks>Mobile Data (OFF) if the phone will not allow you to "Deny data roaming access". Once you have landed in the United States, you will want to turn Mobile Data ON. Keep us updated!
