Add Serial ENET Hardware Wizard Missing Windows 7 64 bit

Installed NI Serial 3.5.1 and there is no wizard to add the serial ENET device.  Tried version 3.6 too.  Any ideas?

Hi bbrady,
Unfortunately, the ENET interface is not supported on 64-bit versions of Windows 7 or Windows Vista. This is documented in the readme for the NI-Serial driver, and here is a link to the document for your reference

  • New Found Hardware Wizard on Windows XP Pro SP3

    hi, can anyone help???
had iphone connecting fine on desktop with Vista, I rebooted yesterday with XP Pro SP3 (fed up with Vista hogging all memory)
Installed and opened itunes and connected iphone and got a "new found hardware wizard" that attempted to find device drivers to no avail, iphone will light up with a yellow ! in device manager for as long as the phone is switched on, as soon as it goes to standby the device manager loses it.
Have tried various USB ports (all 2.0) and have succesfully opened other USB devices plug and play including my ipod video, but for some reason XP pro sp3 and iphone 3G dont want to talk????
    Any suggestions?

Make sure you have the latest iTunes version installed, but at least 7.7. Better yet, reinstall 7.7.1 to be on the safe side.
Also make sure your XP installation is fully patched with the latest fixes for SP3.
If that does not help, consider reinstalling XP, but only SP2, which seems to have no issue with iphone 3G.
XP SP3 tends to be a bit troublesome with certain hardware combinations, but it's a bit hard to say what exactly makes it act up.

  • NI-DAQmx 8.3.0f0 installed but Found New Hardware Wizard shows up when plugging in a USB-6008

I have NI-DAQmx Device Driver 8.3.0f0 installed with LabVIEW 8.2 but when I plug in a NI USB-6008 I see the "Found New Hardware Wizard" in Windows XP.  Since the DAQmx driver is installed shouldn't Windows recognize the device immediately?
I cancel the driver and I get the taskbar message "A problem occurred during hardware installation.  Your device may not work properly."
The USB-6008 does not appear under Devices and Interfaces in MAX.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Ahh, I thought Windows performed an automatic search after cancel is clicked.
I clicked next and allowed Windows to search and it says:
    "Cannot Start this Hardware"
There was a problem installing this hardware: USB-6008
The device cannot start.  (Code 10)
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device but the results were the same.
    Any ideas?

  • Windows hardware wizard

I am new at this but here's my problem. I purchased a ni6601 counter timer pci bus card. I also got an eval version of labview. My intent is to program my application with borland but wanted to see what labview is all about. I installed labview first and then installed nidaq software that came with the hardware. When shutdown, install card and reboot, the windows hardware wizard pops up with found new hardware. The problem is, it can't find any drivers for the unit. I have to cancel the wizard. Looking in device manager, the unit appears with the yellow question mark (win 2k) and says no drivers installed or needed.
Now I go to MAX. My unit is there and the test panels work fine. Go into Labview and the sample programs for this unit w
ork fine too. I have not tried a borland application yet but I suspect it will run too.
Why is the windows hardware wizard coming up everytime I boot and I have to cancel the wizard.

    Hello Mike,
I am suspecting that you are having a Windows permissions problem, and there are a couple of things that you can do to help and determine what the problem might be. First off, are you logged in as an administrator or as a user that is within the administrative group? If not, then please try to obtain the proper permissions so that Windows doesn't restrict what you can access and modify.
If that doesn't help any, then you should try a reinstallation of the driver. It sounds like you went about the correct installation procedure the first time, but something could have gone wrong that we are not aware of. First remove your hardware from Device Manager, and then uninstall NI-DAQ from Add/Remove Programs. Once done, shut down and remove the hardware, a
nd then reinstall. I think you know the procedure well enough, so I'll leave that there.
If the problem is still persisting, please post back with a little more information - what version of the driver, LabVIEW evaluation version, Windows Service Pack installed. It would be nice if you could even try and determine whether or not it is the hardware causing this problem, although I don't highly suspect it, by trying another plug-and-play PCI device - another NI board preferably. Also make sure that there are no conflicts with other devices which might already be installed and showing in Device Manager. If you have anti-virus software running, I also recommend disabling it during your troubleshooting experience as this type of software has caused multiple problems in the past.
I hope that things are working better for you sometime soon. Keep us up to date on your steps.

    Hi Jay,
Be aware that "Freeze Header Rows" and "Freeze Header Columns" apply only to rows and columns that are Header rows or Header columns. You can have up to five Header rows, Five Header Columns (and five Footer rows) on a Numbers Table.
"Header rows" is a special designation. Besides being able to be frozen, Header and Footer rows are not included in formulas referencing whole columns, making it possible to place formulas such as =SUM(B) at the top (or bottom) of column B without causing a self-reference error, These designated rows are also not included in sorts of the rows in a table.

  • SOLVED: 1030NR - SD Card Reader launches Found New Hardware Wizard when media is inserted

I purchased the HP Mini 1000 1030NR a few days ago and have been very happy with it so far.  Last night I attempted to use the integrated SD card reader to view some photos from my digital cameras SD card.  When I inserted the card into the drive, Windows did its normal hardware initializations.  It should have detected and installed the SD Card Reader automatically, but instead I was presented with the "Found New Hardware" wizard.  Every attempt to install the driver automatically via the Wizard failed.  Every SD card I tried in the reader produced the same results.
After spending 2 and a half hours online with HP support, their eventual resolution was to do a full System Restore.  As owners of the HP Mini 1000 will know, this process is made difficult due to the units lack of a DVD-ROM drive.  Furthermore, the problem here is clearly a missing driver.  Doing a System Restore as suggested would be like swatting at a fly with a cinderblock.  It may resolve the problem, but there is a much more straightforward way.
The problem is that due to the nature of the XP installation on the 1030NR,(scaled down for performance/size reasons), the linkage between recognized hardware and the internal Windows driver respository has been broken, at least as far as USB devices are concerned.  I found this out after the same HP support technician suggested I uninstall all of my USB Root Hubs from Device Manager and reboot.  Those never came back either.  Fortunately I had created an XP restore point beforehand and quickly got my USB ports back.  Of course, my SD card reader still didn't work.
The solution is to restore that linkage between recognized hardware and the internal Windows driver repository so that the operating system can "find" the USB drivers and in turn, install the necessary software components for the SD card reader.  Instructions for doing this are as follows:
    1.  Insert an SD card into the SD card reader.  The "Found New Hardware" Wizard will appear.
    2.  Check the radio button to not allow Windows Update to search for software.  Click Next.
    3.  Check the radio button to "Install from a list or specific Location (Advanced).  Click Next.
    4.  Check the radio button to "Search For the Best Driver In These Locations.  Then click the checkbox "Include this location in the search."
    5.  Click the Browse button and navigate to "C:\Windows\inf"  If you cannot navigate to this folder you may type it in the box manually.  Click Next.
    6.  Follow the remaining on-screen prompts to complete the software driver installation.  You may receive an error code at the end indicating that the device could not start.  Disregard this for now.  Once driver installation has been completed, reboot the computer.
    7.  Once the system is back up, the "Found New Hardware" wizard will probably reappear.  If it doesn't, make sure the SD Card Reader has a card inserted in it.  Cancel the Found New Hardware wizard and click Start - Control Panel - System - Hardware tab - Device Manager and look for entries with either an exclamation point or a question mark.  You'll probably see the SD Card Reader with an exclamation point and an "Unknown Device" with a question mark.
    8.  For the SD card reader, right click on it and select "Update Driver..." from the list of options.  Follow steps 2 through 6 above to complete installation.  At the end, the card reader should be functional (you can see it in Windows Explorer, etc.) but you'll still have an "Unknown Device" in Device Manager.
    9.  To resolve the "Unknown Device", once again go to Device Manager, right click on the Unknown Device entry, click Update Driver and follow steps 2 through 6 above.
    10.  One final reboot and the SD card reader should be functional and no ? or ! warnings/errors should be present in Device Manager.
The reason for this issue in the first place is most certainly due to the way Windows XP is configured on the HP Mini 1000.  Although this solution works for the 1030NR, it should also work for models in the same family that contain the 2-in-1 SD card reader.  HP really needs to provide an official fix for this issue, preferably a "patch" that re-establishes the linkage between recognized hardware devices and the internal Windows XP driver repository.  Their official support suggestion of doing a complete System Restore to solve the problem is impractical, heavy handed, and may in fact not solve the issue.
It took me nearly 5 hours total to resolve this problem.  I hope this post saves somebody both time and trouble.

C:\Windows is the default folder for the Windows XP installation on the 1030nr.  Unless changed during installation, all PC's (not just mini's) that have XP installed will have this folder present.  As for the inf folder specifically, this is hidden from view in Windows Explorer unless you tick the option to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" from Tools - Folder Options - View tab.
Still, you shouldn't need to "see" this folder for the above instructions to work.  When running the "Found New Hardware" wizard, you can just type the path in manually at the appropriate spot.  If you truly do not have a C:\Windows\inf folder, then it sounds like something is wrong with your Windows installation and a full System Recovery may be the best option.  It might be a good idea to contact HP support first before donig that though.
Does your Mini run Windows?  If not, unfortunately the instructions I laid out above will not help you.  I believe the "other" Mini's run some HP customized version of Ubuntu Linux.  For that OS, you'll need to obtain a driver specifically for it to get the card reader working.  Try the HP site for a download for the SD card reader or contact support.

  • Missing *.inf driver for 2605dtn and windows 7 64 bit

missing *.inf driver for 2605dtn and windows 7 64 bit
I just piurchased a new HP laptop with windows 7 64 bit installed.  I do not have any windows 7 disks.
Where do I obtain the necessary drivers for this printer?

    HI RandyJohnson,
You do not need to download drivers for this product. Print drivers for your product are available within the Windows 7 operating system. Use Devices and Printers, formerly known as the Add Printer Wizard, to obtain the Windows 7 update. For more information,  go to Install the Printer Driver through the Windows 7 Operating System (c02536257) (in English).

It is not clear to me what your issue is with not being able to sign in to your Adobe account to find the serial number.  You should still be able to sign in and find your serial number if you registered the software.
If your first PC is a Windows machine you might be able to extract the serial number from it using the Belarc Advisor

  • Serialized install of Presenter 10 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit with Office 2013 32-bit fails

I used Creative Cloud Packager to create a serialized install of Presenter 10 32-bit for use on Windows 7 64-bit that have Office 2013 32-bit installed. The package created fine, but when I run the setup.exe that CPP generated, the progress bar moves along then undoes the changes and finishes. The Presenter didn't actually install and I get no messages about why it has failed.
Is there any way I can determine what is causing the failure?
I have manually run the full installer and it does work as it should. The problem is only when I create the serialized installation with the CCP.

    Hi There,
If you have Office 32 bit, and OS 64 bit then you need to add Presenter 32 bit media as "Offline Media" .
Please find the below steps to create a package for Pn 32 bit and OS 64 bit :
    Launch CCP.
Click on Create package and click Next.
Give the name of the package , location to save it , License type as "Serial Number License" , Select "32- bit Package if your OS is 32 bit or select 64- bit Package if you OS is 64 bit" .
Click Next and Enter the serial Key for Presenter 10. Click Next.
    Click "Offline Media" .
    Click on Browse .
Browse to Presenter 10 Installer and select "PresenterWin32" and click Ok.
    Click on Extract.
Select Presenter 10 and click Done.
    Click on Build .

  • Recognizing hardware from a Windows virtual machine hosted on Linux

    Hi,
I would like to isntall windows in a virtual machine run from linux, and run my labview vi's and do aquisition from there.  I tried once using a virtualized Windows XP 32-bit on ubuntu 64-bit, with Virtualbox, but the windows installation didn't recognize my PCI-MIO-16E-4 card.  Maybe its because I didn't have the linux drivers installed.. I don't know.  Soon I will begin using a the 7853R FPGA with the PXI-1036 Chassis, and would prefer if my virutalized Windows installation could see this hardware.
Has anyone gone through the steps of using NI hardware from a virtual Windows installation?  Either Virtualbox, Xen,  Vmware, or whatever..
    Thanks,
    -Sidney

    Hi Sidney,
I see that this thread is a bit old, but I still have something to add. I know for a fact that VirtualBox, VMWare and VirtualPC won't let a guest OS see any real PCI card installed on the host computer. However, you might have better luck with Xen. There are options in Xen which allows you to pass PCI devices forward to guest OS's. People have gotten pretty far with using PCI forwarding that they have even managed to run Windows Vista with full hardware acceleration with Aero as a guest operating system. The only requirement is for your CPU to have virtualization support, i.e. the vmx or svm flag. The only catch is, Xen is significantly harder to set up.
I haven't tried this myself, and I am not from the LabVIEW group, and I am by no means authorative on this topic (don't let my signature fool you).
If you manage to get this to work, we would be interested to hear from you!

Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.
