  • How to add srt directly to itune without convert the video?

    Dear Sir/Madam
I recently add a movie into the itune. Since the movie is speaking in different language from english, I find myself very hard to understand. The video does have an srt file for me for subtitle but without convert the movie, it wont allow me to add the subtitle to the movie. I dont like to convert the movie because it always make the resolution fall and look really bad from the orginal. Is there any way that I can add the srt file to the movie in itune ? Please help me out...

  • Add .srt subtitles

I'd like to add .srt subtitles to a .avi movie. Anyone know how to convert .srt to a Premiere Elements compatible format? .. or would Encore be a better way to go?

    Steve,
Encore can work with true Sub-Titles (and also Closed Caption, which is similar, though different), and can use most common Sub-Title text formats.
For specific Encore questions, including Sub-Titles, the Encore Forum is a great place.

  • Is possible to add .srt subtittles to a movie, so then i can turn it on or off by pressing the "language button"?

Hey!, I really like to download live performances, or simply just movies that are not available on itunes, and i like to have them in order, with all its stuff, but some of them need subtittles, and i want them to be exactly like the other purchased movies i have.
I want to be able to activate and desactivate the subtittles, i don't know if this is possible, so i wanted to know, because everytime I try to find more about my question, i just get info that is only for people that has mac computers, please help!, Thanks!

I developed a Mac App called Subtitle Writer. That's for adding SRT subtitle to Mov, M4V, MP4 and 3GP movies. It's available on Mac App Store.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/subtitle-writer/id889582450?ls=1&mt=12
With Subtitle Writer, it’s a snap to add subtitle track to your movie and video. Of course, it’s working for iPad and iPhone movies. You can easily watch multi language subtitled movie on your Mac, iPhone and iPad. It’s not hard coded and no video quality loss. You can turn the subtitle on or off. You can even extract the subtitles to a SRT file by using SRT Extractor on Mac App Store.
Visit http://www.finalsub.com/subtitlewriter.html to learn more before you buy it.
-Mov, m4v, mp4, 3gp are supported. iOS video format supported.
-Soft coded subtitle. No video quality loss.
    -SRT file needed.
-Multiple subtitle tracks burn to video at one time.
-Choose language for Quicktime X auto language detection.
    -Mac OS 10.9 or above.
-Use Quicktime X to toggle CC on on Mac to see the subtitles.
-Turn on Closed captions on iPhone and iPad to see the subtitles.
-You can Download SRT Extractor to extract the subtitles from video.
-You can download SRT Edit to make new SRT file or edit an existing SRT file.
    Important Notice:
-This Subtitle Writer Version 1.0 only support Quicktime Player X. Quicktime Player 7 is not supported to see the subtitle track.
-If you want to add subtitle for iOS compatible video, make sure your video format is ready for iOS devices. If not, please use video converter to make it iOS compatible. Then add subtitles to the video.
-On iOS device, please turn the Closed Captions on by Settings->General->Accessibility->Subtitles & Captioning ->Closed Captions+SDH.

  • How to play .srt subtitle files in movies?

On my iMac when I use VLC it automatically picks up the .srt file in the folder with the same name as the movie. Does AppleTV allow me to play an .srt file too? Thanks.

    No it won't do this.
There is clearly a modicum of support for subtitles built in, but I think they have to be encoded in the actual movie file.
Might be worth doing a search for subtitles in this forum.
From memory very few Apple store items include subtitles.
VLC is a non-Apple application, and AppleTV pretty much does things 'Apple's way'. In other words there are strict specs for video files (essentially low quality MPEG4, or better/good quality h264 files). These specs largely relate to the modern h264 codec which is more efficient than MPEG-2 used for DVDs,
I don't think you have an AppleTV based on the question, and if you find VLC does the job thenn a more versatile option might be a Mac Mini if you already have lots of video with associated .srt files.
Afraid I don't use subtitling myself, hopefully someone who does will be able to give some useful advice.
May I suggest you Google an application called Handbrake which is a useful video file converter that can convert video files to AppleTV format. I believe it has some kind of support for embedding subtitles (though not from separate .srt files) but have never tried this personally.
There are also many open source/3rd party apps that act as media centres such as XBMC for the XBOX (originally), plex and so forth - I don't know if they have decent subtitle or .srt support but it might be worth you having a look.

  • I want to add subtitles (srt files) to my movies ....

I want to add subtitles (srt files) to my movies and watched by apple TV. If I upgrade to QTPro 7 can I burn the subtitles to my movies (mkv, avi and mp4 files).
In the QT I have the subtitles option is always OFF, and if I watched in iTunes I have a ballon for CC and undetermined subtitles, but I just can watched them in iTunes if I go to Apple TV this option is not avalilable.
I want to add the srt file to my movie in order to watched any place with this option ON.
If I move to QTPro can I recode the file?
I use to have mkv, avi and mp4 files and the srt file for different languaje subtitles.

  • Can one add subtitles to Itunes downloaded movies without CC?

I recently downloaded a movie in french on Itunes that did not have closed captioning. Is there anyway I can add (french) subtitles to the film? I am learning french and I need to read the titles to fully understand the dialogue. Thanks!

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes, then select library.  Your library is stored in your Home > Music > iTunes > iTunes Library.itl file
iTunes can be picky about mp3 formatting and not all mp3s files are created the same.

  • Add fixed .SRT subtitles to a video?

    Hi guys.
Is there a way i can add a subtitle .srt or any other format (fixed) to a movie using premiere elements 8?
    I really need that feature!
    thanks

    Thanks for the reply.
Um using right now two softwares.
Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 8 and Premiere Elements 8.
Cyberlink Power Director Ultra 8 supports it, but doesnt support Italic or Bold the .srt file must be edited before use it.
I burned lots of mp4s with embedded subtitles on it.
Since i have problems using both due to shared files used by them, gonna uninstall APE8.
    Sorry Adobe maybe next time!
    Thanks.

  • Greek Subtitles to an iTunes Movie

  • I have purchased many movies on iTunes, now they are adding closed captioning or subtitles to those movies, BUT can not reload them so I can view those subtitles.  I am mentally disabled and need the subtitles.

Hello,  To start off, I have been a member of iTunes for awhile and have been content with them, until now.  I am legally disabled due to a head injury that happened when I was a teenager.  I am everyday functional, but I do need closed captioning(cc) or subtitles to understand the movie or TV show.  I have purchased lots of movies and TV shows from iTunes.  As any new business does, iTunes has updated itself and added features for their customers. They figure out what the consumers want and like.  I started to realize that iTunes added subtitles for the deaf and disabled, but as I was told by Apple there was nothing I could do about reloading those already purchased movies, to include the cc or subtitles.  Since then, I don't use iTunes and it's a real shame because I love electronics and it's technology.  I wish Apple would work with the consumer.  Why can't I reload the iTunes movies on my PC (Win7) with the subtitles, which they now offer, but didn't when I purchased them?  To me, that is wrong to do that to a customer.  Now that they are including cc/subtitles , everyone is able to enjoy iTunes and not be excluded.   Someone__please explain this to me.  Thank you for reading this.
    Carrie-

Untill the movie studios agree to allow past downloads of movies outside of the US, you aill always have to have a copy of purchased movies on your computer. If not, you will have to buy them again if you delete them.
