Added an SSI menu to a template - now Dreamwever has locked all my pages

Hello - hope someone can help out with this weird thing.
I have built a site here:
http://www.wildernessexpertise.org.uk/
Its based on a P7 template and is about 30 pages or so in
size with more to
be added. I thought is wise to make a server side menu.
The site was working perfectly on the server and within
Dreamweaver.
Then I went and broke it all it seems. I enabled Contribute
compatibility so
that client could edit. I then opened up one of the pages to
make some
changes (from within DW) and all the content has gone - all I
can see is the
blue background, the header graphic and the menu. Looking at
the code its
all still there but...at the top of the page this has
appeared:

I went into main.dwt and pulled this code

out of the nav div and then it worked again.
Then I put it back in and removed the leading slash:

Now I can preview my template and its editable again but the
menu does not
work.
I am very confused and perplexed.

Right, I had sussed rule #1 already but did not know about #2
I'll have to fix that. I there I was thinking I was done for

Adding a dynamic menu to a template

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong please?
I have created a menu, I want to add it to a template (this template already has a dynamic menu which I added to it by the way, in case it's important to the answer).
I have selected the Template and have it ready to edit or do whatever next to it.
I thought the next step was to select "add modules to Template" and then I would get a panel appear on th right hand side with further options to select the menu I want and then go through the insert proceedure.
But nothing happens when I click on "add modules to Template".
I already have one menu on the page, I've done it once already, but for some reason it's not working any more. Or have I just completely forgotten what the correct steps are.
Yes I have researched and googled but I keep getting answers that just tell me how to create a menu or modify a template, or something other than what I need to know.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. So now it's working.
So if you experience the same problem, here's what happened and how I resolved the problem.
I closed the browser, started up again and tried adding a menu to a page using "Add modules to a web page" - it worked, but then BC still wouldn't let me have access to the "Add modules to Templates" button a second time when I tried it with the template - just wouldn't work. So, I shut the browser again but this time loaded the template and tried adding the the module to the template using the button, and it worked.
So I'm guessing that this is a bug that needs to be sorted Adobe?

After deleting FF preference file, Footers are now located higher on all printed pages, causing some one-page emails to extend to a second page.

I upgraded my Mac OS to 10.6.8 to see if that would solve some of my FF hanging issues. It did not. So I decided to try deleting the preferences file as suggested in the Troubleshooting section to see if that would help. Unfortunately after deleting the prefs.js file per the instructions, on all my printed pages the Footers are now located significantly higher on the page than they used to be. They are located about 3/4" up from the bottom of the page, whereas before they were always located about 1/4" up from the bottom of the page. (Thankfully, the headers are in the same spot as before, 1/4" down from the top of the page.)
I don't understand how this happened to the footer placement in deleting the preferences. The placement/location of the headers and footers is not something that the user can adjust in FF Preferences or in the Printing window as a preference. Only the content of the headers and footers can be modified in the Printing window.
I am stumped as to how this occurred. Is there a way to restore the footer placement back closer to the bottom of the page? The higher location of the footer is causing many of my lengthier one-page emails to have to extend onto a second page which is a waste of paper and file space.

Try resetting the Page Margins to what you were using before deleting the prefs file.

Changed web host now email has lost all directories

Recently changed from 1&1 to Bluehost, kept same email address but obviously changed account settings. Now in Thunderbird all the old directories and saved email has disappeared in Thunderbird. Why? How do I get them back? The old host account was IMAP as is the new one. I really need the directories and the saved email, which by now is most likely gone from the old server. Already checked here the 'Moving Your Profile Folder' and 'Recovering a Profile That Suddenly Disappeared' articles and they did not seem to have the solution. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

IMAP is server based. You should have saved copies of your email to the Local Folders of Thunderbird on your computer before switching server. If the old hosting service has cleared the messages off the server there is not much you can do now.
You might contact them to see if the data is still available.

I had to wipe my PC, now itunes has lost all my music?

I had to wipe my PC I had backed up all my files to external harddrive, re loaded them on new PC and discovered when I plugged my iphone in to sync all my music files had dissapeared from itunes. itunes recognised my phone no probs when I plugged it in on new PC.
I thought everytime you plugged the iphone in it says it is making a backup of your phone if so how do I get it back (what really annoys me is that itunes in the first place took all my music file over and put it on to itunes if it hadn't of done this all my music would still be in my music folder outside of itunes).

If I go into "my music" on the pc there is no music as itunes took it over.
there is an itunes folder but I can't access anything in it.
when you say did I restore itunes after the wipe how was I supposed to do that? I just plugged my phone in and it recognised it, its just that if you click on the music folders they are all empty, I didnt have all the music on my phone just some.
I don't ask itunes to backup my data I just noticed it says that's what it is doing just before it syncs.

Updated and now it has lost all my history and bookmarks and won't open

I updated Firefox on 9/18/11. No problems until yesterday 9/22/11. I opened firefox and a window came up saying something like -oops, how embarrassing, we lost all your bookmarks and saved pages. That was bad but then it also wouldn't open anything after that and the rainbow wheel came up and the app did not respond further. I've tried: turning the computer off and on, deleting and re-installing firefox. I called AppleCare and they suggested I call you. I have a MacBook Air. Please help.

Thank you. I did just what you said and on my computer(sadly not an MacBook :( ) and I saw my things were still there. I "turned off" the iTouch and everything came back. But I did notice that every once in a while(it has happened 3 times within 15 days) my info(notes/contacts/calendar events/reminders/ and even access to my e-mail's junk folder) disappears randomly. Is there anything I should do to prevent it from doing that?

I don't get this. You were asked if you wanted a passcode. Apple always makes you enter it twice to make sure you got the same code. How can you forget 4 numbers you just entered?

Preventing help files being added to start menu after installing an application in windows 8.1 enterprise

Hi Guys
when we install an Application in windows 8 family, we see that in addition of Application executable file, user manuals (.chm) and PDF & other files related to that App are added to start menu (when we click down Arrow which shows all programs) and
so the start menu gets quit messy.
is there any settings to make only applications executable file be added to start menu & prevent other types of files related to that App being added here?

This issue is related to the programs package we installed.
• An installation package contains all of the information that the Windows Installer requires to install or uninstall an application or product and to run the setup user interface.
• The developer can specify installation context, and based on these properties, Windows Installer automatically redirects the values of folder properties and registrations to locations.
• The shortcut is added to the profile by these context
We could right click these file and could find out they are the shortcut mentioned above.

Menu Widget within Template Question

I've placed a simple Spry Horizontal Menu bar widget within a div called "header." This menu bar has four main list items, and each list item has four sub-items. I have another div called "mainContent." I save this page as a template. I make a sample page using that template, and the page works as expected. So far, so good.
Now, I go into the template file, into the menu bar widget, and I add a fifth sub-item to one of the main list items, using the properties panel. I save the file, and DW asks if I want to update the page I've created based upon this template. I say yes, and it appears to make the update.
Now, however, when I test the page in the browser (FF, Safari, Opera, doesn't matter), the newly-added menu item does not appear. I've tried clearing the browser cache, closing and reopening the browser -- nada.
Am I missing something, or is a Spry widget not able to be used (as in, modified and updated) within a template?
Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Unfortunately you cannot add drop shadows to text in Muse.
You could create the text in Photoshop and import it in, using the "Place Photoshop button" under the file menu. (you would create the, normal, hover, active states in Photoshop layers)

Why does editing the spry horizontal menu on my template alter the spry tabbed panels on my page?

Most of the pages on my site are created using the same template I developed. Today, I edited the horizontal main menu on the template, which changed all the pages on my site correctly, except now all the pages with tabbel panels in the body are showing as a bulleted list instead of tabbed panels. Please Help!?!
In fact, there is no longer any css styles for any tabbed panels any longer...what did I do?

Help changing color of menu in Adora template

I'm a new BC user and have been scouring the CSS stylesheet for the Adora template, but I can't figure out where the color is being set for the main menu. I was able to change the navigation.png image to be solid instead of transparent and that covers the maroon/red color, but you can still see it peaking around the edges in some browsers, or full-on during page refresh, before the png image loads. Additionally, I added a sub-menu and the maroon/red color is back. The site is www.digitalglobesystems.com
Can anyone point me to the location of where the color is being set in the stylesheet? I've done a lot of trial and error with no results. Another thread said the color was set in the spry assets, but I don't see that in my File Browser.

Spry menu updating through template

I've created a number of pages based on templates that I designed. The templates use a horizontal spry menu. Now I want to hook everything up. But when I update the spry menu in the template it has no affect on the template based pages. When I save the template with the changes, I get the dialog box asking me if I want to update all the pages based on the template. So I say yeah update all of the selected files. But it doesn't update them. What am I missing? I had some issues removing the mark of the web code from the template. I got a message saying that changes to the template would no longer appear on child pages (or something similar). Could this be my problem?

Thanks for asking. I have a couple of display issues that deal with spry data sets and a flash photo gallery, but those I can't resolve until I actually publish the site and can verify that the problem exists when viewed live. That way I can also link to the problem so others can see the issue. Those are display issues. The other issue is also a display issue, but it's one that I need to solve before I can publish my site.
I have started a discussion on this problem in the Dreamweaver forum, but since I still have the issue, I hope it's okay if I post here as well. The issue deals with a horizontal spry menu.
I have a page that displays a youtube video. It sits under the horizontal menu. When you try to select something from the drop down menu, the menu appears behind the youtube video (the links are hidden) and can't be selected. Someone on the Dreamweaver site checked out the link I provided and said that they didn't have any problems using Firefox. But I still can't see the menu with IE8 or Safari. Here's the link:

That same person on the Dreamweaver forum suggested that I put the video in a div and give it a z-index. I tried that, but I'm really not sure what value to enter. The menubar has several z-index values ranging from 1000 to 1020. So I've tried the following values 900, 980, 990, 1030, 1040. No luck.
