Added podcasts disappear from ipod's podcast folder, HELP!!

I've have a G4 ipod and i updated all my Itunes ad ipod a while back and have been using the new pocast features, but when i conected to a older version of itunes on another computer my pobcast folder turned into a normal playlist and wont change back so all my podcasts are fine but not in the podcast folder. how do i get them to go back into the podcast folder, please help me out.

It sounds like you use the Sync function to update your iPod (that is the best way). There is a setting which controls which Podcasts stay on your iPod, and it's this you need to change.
Connect the iPod to your computer. Highlight the device <your iPod> (left hand side bar) and then click on the Podcasts tab. On that tab, change the various options to the one you want. It probably says "Keep all unplayed episodes" which means it will remove a Podcast from your iPod when you have listened to/watched it.
Change these settings to (for instance) "Keep all episodes" or "keep last x episodes". (I'm currently using my laptop which does not have my iTunes installed so I may have the actual wording wrong - but I hope you get my drift.)

Try this, hold the opt + cmd key when opening Iphoto, Check all the boxs to rebuild your library. Go get a beer (it could take a while **took mine 4 hours for 6543 photos**), if the rebuild is done. Quit Iphoto, launch Itunes (make sure all your ipod photo sync prefs are right) , and pray. It worked for me. Finally.
Exporting 6500 photos, re importing them and creating albums.... umm I don't have time years to do that, especially when it shouldn't be doing this.
Btw, I had the same problem, and NOBODY responded.
Look at my posts, you'll see. All of the postings I replied to are steps that got me on the right path, to making it worse. This is about as frustrating as it gets. I too called apple. I was on the phone with them for FIVE hours and no one there could help me. They said, "We'll get an engineer to help you, and get right back to you" I haven't heard a thing. VERY DISAPOINTED in apple care.
Anyway, I wish you luck. Don't count on anyone or anything from here, just takes time away from our short lives, a and replaces it with angst. Same with Apple Care. Im glad I paid for that nonsence, NOT! At least I will get a battery change out of them, but thats about it.
If worse comes to worse, sit back relax, and be thankful your ipod isn't floating in Mississippi. It could be worse.

Looks that something has gone wrong with the reset as you still have Firefox profile folders with a date/time stamp that a reset creates, but are using a regular default profile. 
Such a new default profile is likely to have been created because of a problem with the profiles.ini file (if profiles.ini is missing the Firefox will create a new default profile).
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
You can look at the time stamps or check the name of the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You may have transferred all your songs, but your iPad is seeing the library as a different entity.

Did you use spotlight to search? (I'm assuming you have a Mac as given above despite this thread being in the Windows forum). How long have you used iTunes on this computer? Is there a backup to your library, perhaps an only copy of it on a machine you've "retired". Is the media present in the media folder? (Yes, you've answered that earlier.) If so then the media files should have absorbed all the tag changes that you made and reimporting the media into a new library might not be a complete disaster, though playlists, playcounts, ratings etc. would be irretrievably lost.

You're using iPhoto 6?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/">iPhoto Library Manager</a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Previously synched audiobook disappears from IPod

I downloaded an audiobook purchased from Audible through Amazon last year. At that time I synched it to my IPod. Now it has disappeared from the IPod, but still shows up in ITunes. How do I get it to sync again? I tried syncing only what was checked and being sure that the audiobook was checked, but it still didn't sync although my checked music, podcasts, etc. did. What else should I try?

Yeah I'm running into the exact same frustration. It seems like iTunes keeps losing authorization to play my audible book (despite me giving it a user name and password) and at first, it synchs as expected. But then, several synchs later, it seems to deauthorize itself and although the book is still in the audiobooks library it removes itself from my iPod Touch. At least, until I click on the book in iTunes and, again, authorize this computer again. Frustrating, to say the least - maybe someday the book will actually be on my iPod when I plan on listening to it?

Photos disappear from IPod

When I synch new photos onto my 32g the albums previously loaded disappear. Sometimes they disappear spontaneously after the auto synch when I attach the IPod to my Mac. Is there a way of preventing this?

I have one folder of folders of photos loaded onto my ipod. When I go to the itunes page and open the Sync photos page, there is a line at the top that says "Synch photos from:" and a selection box. There is a check point to the left of the title which I assume is checked to confirm that I want to synch photos from the folder selected.
What happens if I want to add (choose) another, different folder from my Mac? Does that "uncheck" the folder already synched and installed on my ipod?
Thus far I have found nothing that provides an opportunity to "save" on itunes or the ipod, inspite of fearless experimenting with various inputs to try to raise the possibility.
Yes, I have downloaded and read the User Guide and in fact have had my first PDF of it disappear from my computer without permission to parts unknown in spite of Spotlight; another first since acquiring the ipod.

I just reinstalled itunes on a computer that had a bug and was cleaned up and cleared out. When I reinstalled itunes and it sync'd all my songs disappeared from my ipod. how do I get them back

That is correct.
You should use your backup copy of your computer to put everything abck on the coputer, then you would sync them to your ipod.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer, njot good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

Album art disappears from ipod touch

Album art for both complete albums and single songs often disappears from the device when uploading new music. However, the art work still appears when you look at the individual songs; i.e., when the device is connected to the computer, you open iTunes, highlight a song and click Apple-I > Artwork.
Also, song order for albums and playlists often gets thrown out of whack. Songs ends up alphabetized.

I just thought about if the music file recognize the song on iTunes store OR every song file that you have album art on then that should be no problem, the only problem is when some of the music/song which is not from iTunes store or they don't have any information for the song, so that will not have album art show up on any of your ipod device unless you add the album art yourself on iTunes when you import song into your iTunes from the file in your computer.

Some of my music has disappeared from my ipod classic (160GB) for no apparent reason, ANY IDEAS WHY THIS WOULD HAPPEN?

Sometimes the database files or the files themselves become corrupted. Usually in this case, it is necessary to either resync the content via iTunes or restore the iPod to factory settings in iTunes.

Drafts are Disappearing from Apple Mail Drafts Folder

I am using Apple Mail wil my Mobile Me and an IMAP Gmail account.
I create, save and close a draft and it then disappears from my Drafts folder with no sign of it anywhere. To date I have lost many emails and countless hours of work rewriting emails. This is more than frustrating.
Is there a way to recover these missing drafts?
How can I stop this from happening in the future?

Very Strange Problem TV Shows Disappearing from iPod

I have been buying TV shows for awhile. Then I started purchasing "HEROES" one episode at time. They are on my iTunes but the keep disappearing from my iPod if I have watched them. None of the other TV shows are behaving this way. I am perplexed. I don't even know where to begin to look. It is only one show out of many. HELP

After upgrading to iTunes 7.0.1.8 ~300 oldest songs disappeared from iPod

After I upgraded to 7.0.1.8 and synch'd my 60G iPod about 300 of my oldest songs disappeared from my iPod. I received a message that I had used my 5 allowable installations for the song. But I only have a 60G iPod and a Nano, and I have never allowed anyone to use my computer. So, how do I get these back on my 60G?

Thank you for describing the problems so well. I also have been going nuts trying to restore my Itunes Library to its original (or acceptable) condition. I have a 5th gen 30G Video with about 4250 songs on it. After downloading 7 I found that every song in my Library had been dulplicated or triplicated. Then, a day latr, when I had downloaded album art, I discovered that every other song in any album I had downloaded (from Itunes or my own cd)prior to perhaps version 5 or version 6 could not be found. Luckily, I had an generation 4 Ipod with the original Library and I was able to download that to my external harddrive. I have spending pointless, arduous hours pointing Itunes to the correct file. Its faster to re-download the CD. Of course, I can't do that for any music I had bought from Itunes directly. Its weird because the name of the song is in Itunes, just the file can't be found. And why every other file? When I go into earlier (6 and before)Itunes Libraries, the music files are missing from them. Where did they go? When I try to sync my Ipod with Itunes, it takes forever because Itunes is searching for the missing files. I have tried to ask Apple support directly but I have gotten no response. Almost all messages disappeared from Mail's Sent folder

A friend of mine running OSX 10.4.11 with all Apple updates on an Intel iMac about a year and half old, is having problems with Mail. She seems to have lost all her Sent messages from before Jan. 24th. As she put it: "Came in on 1/25, to find only three message left in my sent messages" dating 1/24." She's using an IMAP account, and a broadband Ethernet DSL modem.
Personally I rarely use Mail, preferring Mailsmith/POP, so am not that familiar with the app - or with IMAP. After looking up Mail Help I suggested she first rebuild the Sent folder and instructed her how to do that over the phone. It went through it's paces but didn't improve the situation. Sent mailbox still only contains messages dating from Jan.24th. There should be several years of Sent messages in that box.
Then I had her try the next thing on the Help page, which was reindexing Mail, done by quitting Mail, removing certain files from the ~/Library/Mail folder, launching Mail and waiting for it to retrieve stuff from the server. That didn't solve the problem either. The other mailboxes seem to have all their messages intact, and the Mail app seems to be working normally otherwise. She hasn't done a backup since the problem occurred, but restoring from that would eliminate all the mail she has received since.
I'd greatly appreciate any other suggestions on how to get her missing messages back.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will pitch in. In my friend's case it isn't a dot mac account.
Could it be related to the allocated space on the server being too full? There are several years of email stored there and it's an office, so I imagine there's a lot of mail. Not being very familiar with IMAP I don't know if the stored mail could get messed up if there isn't much room left on the server.
