Adding a page to an Acroba Pro Document

While it should be possible to add a page to an Acrobat Pro document, the menu key is not easy to find. Insert, extract, replace and delete are readily available under the Documents tab, but there is no key to add a page to the document. How do I add a page in the same format and composition as the preceding and following pages of the same document? Thanks, John

Hi Bill,
Thanks so much for your reply. Unfortunately I did not communicate my
question very well. I know about Document>Insert. All I wish to do is to add
a blank page to my document. From page 100>101. Or between page 25 and page
26. If I can deleted a page,
I should be able to add a blank page. Yes? No? John

  • Adding landscape page into a portrait oriented document

As mentioned in the title, I have a portrait oriented document and would like to add a (big) table into this document. Because the table is too big in portrait, I'd like to change one page to landscape mode so I can add the table.
Is this possible without having to install the old iWork '09 or making converting the table to an image?

    Hi Eendj3;
Pages (v5.5.1) lacks many features including this.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • I recently accepted an automatic update to pages on my MacBook Pro. I can no longer open pages or documents created through the older version of Pages......Any suggestions?

I recently accepted an automatic update(January, 2014) for Pages on my MacBook Pro. I can no longer open Pages or documents created with the prior version. Any suggestions as to how to correct this problem?

Open Activity Monitor. Select All Processes instead of My Processes at the top and then reorder everything by highest CPU usage. Take a screenshot and post the image here.

I have a large document which keeps repaginating and adding blank pages. I can no longer use the print preview at all. I have tried all the usual fixes. Nothing works. Can anyone help?

Is your printer selected? <br />
Is '''Print to File''' selected, where the web page is being printed to a file and not being sent to your printer?
    See the screenshot below.

  • When printing from Preview, the document prints with large print and many lines added and pages added

When printing from Preview, the document prints with large print and many lines added and pages added. Why does this happen?

Thank you!!! That was the problem--scale was set at 200% (don't know why)--when I reduced it to 100% it printed perfectly.
Thanks again for helping me resolve this problem.

  • How can I use two different page orientations in the same document?

I am trying to have both portrait and landscape page orientations in the same document.  Pages doesn't seem to like this.  Is there a way?

I tried to comment on another thread about this same issue, but the thread was closed.
In the other thread; however, some asked why rotating one pages was necessary, and if they knew then maybe there would be reason to create the function.
Well, I don't know about why anyone else needs it, but for me it's for the papers I have to write for my masters program. The professors like to have the rubric attached to the bottome of the document so they easily grade and keep things organized. They of course give directions on how to easily change the orientation of the last page in Word, but not all of use Word, or even want to use Word. Maybe I need to ditch Pages and go to Word? I'd really hate to do that!
So, come on Apple, let's get this feature added, stat!

  • How to insert page numbers in a PDF document?

How to insert page numbers in a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.2?
    Thanks.

    OK, I found it myself:
    1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
    2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.
    That is!

  • How to keep the SAME position of layout on left & right pages when adding a page?

A little background first before I ask the question:
I've been converting a PowerPoint document to the InDesign format, and adding pages as I go through by duplicating a page in order to keep the top description text in the same position at the top left hand side. The document is over 110 pages- more pages will be added soon, and some pages deleted. Basically the presentation will be printed as a book, and the client we are designing this presentation for sent us the master pages for the layout.
The issue I'm now having: I had to delete an odd number of pages which caused a shift of the layout of pages throughout the document after the pages I deleted. I figured that the right hand page was not aligned the same as the right hand page, so I measured in the same distance from the left edge on both pages and made the adjustments. But then when I added a page, the alignment shifted again.
Is this an issue with the master pages? Or is this another issue? Any idea how to fix this so that the pages are aligned the same whether I add or delete a page? I've included two screen grabs to better illustrate what is happening:
I would be very grateful for any help you may be able to offer on this, thank you in advance.
    Vera

Those are your margin guides, and your client evidently expects the margins to be larger on the outside of the page than at the spine. Putting the text frame that says Main Building... on the master page will not only save you having to enter it each time, but will let you put it where it should be and have it stay there when pages switch sides. Your images are going to seem to shift, too, unless they are centered on the page on the horizontal axis.
I'm sensing you really have little or no experience using ID, and some basic training would probably help you quite a bit. I'll recommend Sandee Cohen's Visual Quickstart Guide to InDesign -- best book out there for beginners.

  • Change page size in Acrobat Pro 6.0

Hello, I'm wondering if there's a way to change page sizes in Acrobat Pro 6.0 for Windows. We are receiving manuscripts which have been assembled from various documents. They're going to be printed at 8.5 x 11, but sometimes some of the pages are 7 x 10. Is there an automated way to change all the 7 x 10 pages to 8.5 x 11? We don't want to have to do each page individually because there are too many of them.
    Many thanks,
    Coral

You could try printing to a new PDF with the PDF printer, setting the page size to 8.5 x 11 and setting the page scaling option to 'Fit to Printable Area'.  This will hopefully leave the existing 8.5 x 11 ones about the same size (it may shrink them slightly) and scale the other sizes.

  • PDF file size in relation to number of pages of the exact same document

PDF file size of a document for one page is 28kb. PDF file size of a the same document for two pages (1st page and 2nd page are exact same document), also 28kb. Shouldn't it be 56kb??

First of all, you can't use Adobe Reader to add, delete or duplicate pages in a PDF file (unless you use a template object), so you're either using Adobe Acrobat, or some other application entirely.
The size of PDF files is not linear, ie if you have 1-page file and it's 1 MB, then duplicating it will results in a 2-page file of 2 MB, or a 10-page file of 10 MB. Many items in a PDF document only need to be saved once (such as font information, image information in some cases, etc.), so the change in size when adding additional pages is sometimes very small. At other times it can be very big, though. You can have a 100-page file that is 1 MB and then add a single page to it, with a new font perhaps, and the size will jump to 5 MB, just because that font is very large...

  • Use 2 page layouts in the same document?

I would like to have one page of my current document in portrait layout, while the rest is in Landscape. I've added a page break, but can't get the single page I want, to turn vertical, without turning all the others. Is there a way to do this?

PeterBreis is right. Do like this (tested several times when need was):
    1. Create the whole document, and let that special page blank
    2. Based on the same template, create that unique page according to your wish
Now, if you need a printed stuff, insert the specific page when need be. If you need a PDF, export the PDFs (there are 2), import the large file into a good, realiable and free app like Combine PDFs or iCombiner (do not know which one is best, both seem to work fine), delete the blank page in the big file, insert the isolated page in the same place, re-save with a new name, and you are done.
It is not, I admit, very smooth and clean, but it works fine. Named apps may be beautifully used to cut, merge, combine any PDFs, including by combining various sizes and orientations. As long as Pages (and other similar apps) does/do not have this feature, use the additional 3rd party apps, they work fine.

  • Pages won't sync any documents correctly in iCloud

I have a macbook, an iPhone and an iPad. The Pages in macbook won't sync any documents correctly in iCloud. It shows me my documents saved in iCloud in Pages, but I can't see any documents in another devices.
Also I can see my documents which are created with another devices in iCloud, but when documents are created or edited from the iCloud they will not be shared with the iCloud or other devices. If a document already in iCloud is opened and edited on my computer it will disappear from both the computer AND iCloud. Numbers and Keynote are working %100, and I don't have any problem with them.
Please tell me what should I do.
    Thanks
    Ben

Thanks, I had a similar problem in that my files on Pages for iPad, iPhone and iCloud would not sync with Pages on my Macbook Pro. Deleting the "Ubiquity" folder and rebooting made everything work together properly.
I use Pages everyday for work and this has been a big help for me.
    *Edit*
This also solved the same problem I was having with Numbers.

  • Recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. What now?

Pages question: recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents intermittently
won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. On the other Mac (running Lion), saved a copy of a document with a new name and sent it back to first computer. At first it would open, but now it as well as multiple other Pages documents won't open. What now?

    yes;
I got Pages to work now- there were two versions, one Universal, and one Intel- by moving the Universal to trash ( although I can't delete it) and moving Intel version to iWorks folder in Applications, it is now working. Doesn't explain why it didn't work though- the other MacBook pro 17 inch that could open all the Pages documents also has two copies of Pages as I see now....
I still however can't open Numbers documents on the MacBook pro 15 inch.... it is a Universal version of Numbers.

  • Edit an index page for a scanned OCR document

We have documents that we will either scan or have sent to us in scanned PDF format.
What we need to do is reorder the pages, apply OCR to these documents, fix up the OCR, generate an index page for the document, then trim down the generated index to just the topics of interest and merge together items that are synonyms or otherwise related phrases for the same topics in the index.
Acrobat Pro seems to do most of this, except for generating and editing the index page.
Which Adobe tools will we need for this job please?

A set of pages, usually found near the end of a book that list "important" concepts found in the book along with the page numbers where these concepts are mentioned.
Spontaneous human combustion ... p234, p1056, all of chapter 26
Only in a PDF these should be links not just to the page but the place on the page where the concept is mentioned.
So the work flow would be:
    Scan document.
    Run OCR.
    Fix the OCR.
Extract Text and generate automatic Index page.
Trim down the words listed in the Index page and glue it to the document.
