Adding html

I'm trying to add html code that locks the body to a fixed position on the background. When I add the html as an object it just shows up as text on the site. I've used this code successfully with other wysiwyg site builders. Is the add html object in muse just for embedding content like video, maps, etc ?

When you say the body, are you referring to content- images, text, etc? Or the actual page? If you are referring to content you can pin them without needing to insert html. As far as the other goes, it should work. You might want to post the html so someone can take a look at it.

Adding HTML code corrupts (and destroys) site

I was informed by Apple support that iWeb does not support adding HTML to your page (even though I did so in the Forms widget), and that the code corrupted my page (causing all kinds of font issues, blurry images, and wacky layout errors). They said I would have to rebuild the page from scratch (I have already spent hours building an intensive website that is now useless). I am skeptical that all these iWeb problems (font changes, wrong colors, layout chaos, blurry fonts, etc.) are caused by HTML code, so if anyone has any more info I would appreciate it. I am ready to throw iWeb in the garbage and go back to Dreamweaver MX!!! Thanks.

not totally comfortable posting links to the site (its a business site and not mine)... if you search around for iWeb problems you will find many people having the same issues... when i tried fixing my original page (after deleting the page with the problematic code) the problems still occurred... when i redid the page completely the problems stopped happening (at least for now)... I was told by the Applecare person that the code had completely infested/corrupted the entire site and that it could not be fixed... that I would have to completely recreate the site again... what doesn't make sense is that such a glaring, fundamental problem on such a basic program goes ignored by such a powerful, inventive, flourishing company... disappointing to see all the issues/bugs that get officially ignored on these forums...

But, can you try to use http://drmtest2.adobe.com:8080/Content/anonymous.f4v with locally hosted OSMF player? This content doens't require user/pass info.
I'm wondering that Google TV's flash player doesn't support prompt dialog.
http://drmtest2.adobe.com/AccessPlayer/player.html requires flash player 11. That's why it won't be loaded with flash player 10.x.

Adding HTML content in text frame

I'm a little bit frustrated when adding some copy to edge. In order to add a simple hyperlink for example in my paragraph of text, I need to use the replace text field where I can add the <a href..>
and change it over before it's viewed.
Is there any plans on making this easier? Or is there better workaround?

This is no longer available based on the base code changing and no longer allowing it. Other might have suggestions on how to make so that works again but way I know handle this is through "menus". In menus you can add hyperlinks to other stuff.
Well I thought it changed back in later versions 11.1.1.3.04 (I know not much use if you are on earlier versions) :- 9475065 – Users cannot use HTML commands in data form and task list instructions.

Adding HTML content in Planning Webform Instruction box

Hi,
I am working on Planning 9.3.1, we are migrating the application from planning 3.5.
One point i noticed todays is "Adding Instruction to Webform".
In my Old system- i can add HTML content to set the instruction more user friendly or even i can add url inside the instruction box by href fucntion of html.
In System 9.3.1- when i just copied that html from old webform Instruction box to new system webform Instruction box, it is not displaying in correct format.
Any idea and any thought , how can manage to add html inside the Instruction box.
Ex: Tax Percentage Input: This form is used to enter applicable Federal and State taxes 
The above text display on click of "View" as the font ,bold etc defined above in my planning 3.5 webform but same content is not working in 9.3.1
Is that feature has gone in system 9 onwords...

Safari adding .html to all attachments

I have used Safari for a couple of years now, and as of yesterday, all attachments I try to download now have a .html extension added to it,
i.e. doc.html, exe.html, jpg.html thus being unable to open the files
when they have been downloaded. I have tried downloading the same files
using AOL, and FireFox and .Mac and no problems whatever.
The attachments sitting in the e-mail just shows the .doc, or .exe or .jpg
but while downloading, Safari adds the .html extension.
Any help will surely be appreciated.

This problem began happening to me today. I tried resetting cache, closing Safari and reopening, looking for DeBug settings. Finally, after I reset Safari by choosing Safari > Reset Safari... then closed out the browser and opened it up again, the problem went away. Hope it works for you!

Adding html to a page

I'm uploading a website to my own domain. It is a partially commercial site, and I have applied for, and received acceptance to the Amazon.com Associate program. They supply the html.
HOW the heck do I add that to my page(s) without having to manually add it to the page, (which, when you save or update your pages, and republish "to a folder", the html disappears and you have to add it manually again.

Well, the answer is that you currently have to add it manually unless you consider using something like iWebEnhancer or MassReplaceIt. In any case you will still need to "post-process" your html files after iWeb has published them depending on how often your pages actually change.

Missing Horizontal Rules After Adding HTML Code

Hi iWeb Users,
I added PayPal links to my site and on two of my For Sale pages the horizontals rules are missing from under my page headings. I have attempted for several days to correct this problem but I am unable to because I only have a basic understanding of HTML coding.
I would greatly appreciate any help in fixing this small problem. Instructions on how to add the ~HR~ tag so the rule underlines my page heads is all I need. Help!!!

The line on the For Sale page?
I suspect that you may have accidently deleted it, to put it back open one of the other pages, click on the line in that page. Then Copy it, open the For Sale page and Paste, the line will land in the same place on the For Sale page as is was on the other page.

Adding HTML inside a cell with PDV

Hi all,
I got a small problem here: I need to add some HTML code around the data in a PDV cell. The PDV is rendered using a JCO.Table.
Within the beforePdvExecuteSource(IDataViewer) there are already some methods which change the content of a field but there it's always about adding a link into the field which can be done with IFieldInfoItem.setDisplayType(TableColumnType.LINK).
Any ideas how to do so?

Right click the worksheet tab name and select View code to open the VBA editor
Copy the code below and paste into the VBA editor.
Edit the line with the comment to the required range where you have the "w" and where the scanned codes are to go.
Close the VBA editor (Cross with red background top right)
Save the workbook as Macro Enabled workbook.
Ensure Macros are enabled in options. See Help fot how to do this. Option to "Disable all with notification" should be ok.

Adding HTML into the library in 'Code' view

Adding an object into the Library from ‘Design’ view works as advertized… however I’m looking to add HTML into the Library that is not ‘seen’ in ‘Design’ view… for example… some of the META tag data in the Header section.
In my reading… I have come across references that this can be accomplished…but I’m being frustrated by the fact that while in ‘Code’ view the MODIFY/LIBRARY/ADD OBJECT TO LIBRARY…. The “Add object to library” is grayed out.
I’m about down to thoughts like “you can’t get there from here”… or … “you ain’t smart enough to figure out how to do it”.
Is this ‘doable’?... and if so… what are the proper sequence of steps.

HT1338 Safari/Bonjour won't save .wav files to desktop without adding .html

I use the Dragon Dictate 3.4.0 with the Dragon Recorder app on my iPhone 5 (iOS7.0.4). This app allows for me to use a wifi connection to upload dictation (.wav) to the Mac. The instructions using Safari and Bonjour are simple to follow. However, when I right-click to save the .wav file Safari/Bonjour adds the extension .html to the file. This makes it unable to be read as a .wav file by Dragon transciption. I don't have this problem when following the instructions for using an alternate browser, in this case Firefox. The problem with using Firefox is the number of steps involved. It should be less cumbersome and using Safari/Bonjour would make it so.
Why is the .html extension being added to a .wav file when asking Safari to save it?

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Importing/adding html files with bookmarks to project/TOC

Overview:
I've been importing some old html files that have a massive number of bookmarks/anchors in them (few hundred html 'pages' some of them mini help document libraries) in an effort to move the manuals into RH format. Using RH11
Problem:
when I import them all the bookmarks are showing up under each topic page. Second, when I add a folder into the TOC or auto generate a TOC it pulls each bookmark as a page (see screen shot). Any way I can get around this issue? I can manually add (drag/drop) the 'updates' page here into the TOC and it doesn't pull the bookmarks as pages. However i'm interested in knowing if I can simply not import the bookmarks or exclude them from populating as pages in the TOC. This seems to be new to RH11 (i've used RH9 without this issue in the past, on a similar project).

Note that when you choose to auto-generate a TOC, you have a choice as to whether to create links to bookmarks. Look at the dialog below:
My guess is that in the older version this option wasn't enabled when you auto created a TOC and you really didn't pay attention to the way it was set in the new version.

Adding html to an iWeb site published on .Mac

I run my music blog entirely through iWeb and .mac, but unfortunately, in order to get my site onto a listing of music blogs, I need to post some .html on it. I tried opening the files on my iDisk but I don't think I was doing it correctly; if anyone could either explain how to do this, or point me towards a thread that does, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

I use the iWebMore tool which basically post-processes the iWeb produced html to insert your own specific html. Read the manual page, at first it seems a little confusing but in reality it couldnt be simpler.

Adding HTML to a "start" page

Hi,
Opening iWeb, I am now getting a template "start" page as if it's my first time,
so somehow I've lost all of my preferences after juggling a recent upgrade
(am I correct that this would be the "com.apple.iWeb.plist" file?).
I'm wondering if there is a way of copying the HTML of my current website
(previously made in iWeb) and somehow feeding this info to this new start page?
Would I have to make a simple "first time" page and somehow change or substitute
its HTML so that it would look like my uploaded website and then be able to continue from there?

after juggling a recent upgrade
Upgrade of what? And how? You site is contained in the Domain.sites2 file that is located in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.
Did you do a system upgrade? Did you do an erase and install installation? If so they you've lost your domain file and will have to rebuild the site from scratch. Chapter 2.3 of the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the published files in the reconstruction of the site.
If you didn't do an erase and install or upgraded iLife the try the following after making sure you have only one Domain.sites2 file on your HD:
1 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
2 - reboot.
3 - launch iWeb and see if you get your site back.
