Adding more than one song to a slide show in Elements 11

Most of my slideshows are longer than one song and I get tired of it just repeating. Can I have more than one song in a slide show and how do I do this?

I like to use different songs for different parts of slide shows and also to edit out some of the extra verses in some of the songs I use, so what I do is to use Wavepad (free download) to edit the desired songs. I save each one in a separate file (adding a descriptor such as "short" to the original title). Then, I open a new file in Wavepad, save it as the name of the slide show (such as Graduation Medley), then copy & paste each song from its respective file, in the correct sequence I want them to play into the new file. Be sure to save at the end, in between, all the time.
I go back to iTunes and import the new file into the Library. Then I go back to iPhoto, select the relevant slide show, click on the Music button and select that file for my music for the slide show. I then go to the Settings and click the button that says "Fit photos to music".
You can also create a playlist from the edited files and add the playlist as specified in the other posts.
When previewing the slide show, if the music for the 2nd section starts too soon or too late, I adjust the time for a couple of beginning section's slides, add an extra one in, or maybe even reedit the music.
Hope this helps.

  • More than one song in a slide show?

    Hey,
i was organizing a slide show on my new mac book pro and i was trying to put more than one song in my slide show. is this possible? i realize that u can loop the same song but that is pretty tacky for a slideshow if you ask me. plz help as soon as possible because this slide show also has a deadline for tomarrow. thanks.

    Michael:
Yes it is. You need to create a playlist in iTunes with the songs you want and then in iPhoto select that playlist. Just be sure to click on the playlist icon and not on any of the tracks in it.

  • How do I add more than one song to a slide show

What if I have a long slide show (300+) and want to have two or three or ... more songs on it? Any one know how I would do this? PS - This is my first ever post on a forum.

Create a single track out of the multiple songs using audio editing software. Try audacity (free) or if you have a mac, use garage band.

  • Using more than one transition in a slide show

Is there any way to use more than one transition in a slide show?
    Thanks,
    Steve G.

I do not yet own iDVD8 but I do know that transitions w/in iDVD6 are applied globally (same transition for each image).
The only way around this that I know of is to use another app like DVDSP (which allows you to change individual transitions and durations as well).

  • Can you have more than one theme in a slide show?

I am creating a slide show for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary but do not want to use the same theme throughout the slideshow.  I have not been able to figure out how to change themes after a series of pictures.  Is there a way to do this?

Chop the project into several different slideshows with different themes, export them as quicktime movies, and reassemble them in imovie.

  • More than one song in slide show

Can you help me figure out how to put more than one song in a slide show? It seems that I can only put one song and it keeps repeating itself. Help?

    Hi Mommy tbone
Welcome to apple discussions. According to apple's help menu you can do this by creating a custom playlist and then using it within iDvd. But in practice (personal choice only) I avoid iTunes completely due to DRM issues I've experienced in the past when playing a dvd. And that includes making a playlist within iTunes. Hence I prefer using QT Pro to meld audio tracks together (that or iMovie 6). I've even been known to first burn an audio track to CD and importing the audio directly into either iMovie or iDvd. I then use the new track in iDvd's audio drop well. So in a nutshell, those are the approaches that are available to you. Feel free to choose any of the above or whatever works best for your iDvd project.

  • Using more than one song in a slideshow

Hi, has anyone figured out how to use more than one song in a slide show to play on the appletv?
I set it up in Iphoto, but it seems to only allow me to choose one song. I'm having a party and want to have my slideshow play continuously, but would like to have a bunch of songs cycling thru.
    thanks,
    Jeff

In the slideshow settings, choose music and choose a playlist.
In itunes, add as many songs as you want to play to the playlist.

  • More than one song to slideshow

Is it possible to add more than one song to a slide show in iPhoto for the iPad?  One song get's very boring after a while.  It's easy on the macbook but can't find a way on the iPad.

You can't do it via the Photos app itself, but a workaround is to start music playing in the iPod app itself first and then start a (non-music) slideshow in Photos.

  • Adding Artwork (More Than One Song At A Time)

I'm adding artwork to the songs that iTunes couldn't find automatically. Is there a way to add the artwork to more than one song at a time? It would be way easier if I could just add the artwork to an album all at once. I tried listing the songs in "Album List" order and dragging the .jpg into the blank artwork icon, but it didn't take.
Please tell me that there's a way to do this; it's a hassle having to add artwork one song at a time!
    Thanks,
    -Adam

At the Artwork box at lower left, click the text above the box so it shows "Selected Item".
Select all the songs for one album then drag the artwork to the artwork window or Copy/Paste it into the Artwork box.

  • Slideshow music. More than one song

So I have Ilife 08' I would like to make a slide show. I added a few photos to a new slideshow. Then I clicked the music icon and added a song. Yay for me so far.
Now I wish to add more than one song. So I clicked the Settings icon which is so conveniently placed to the music icon. So I had two options for music playing
    A) Repeating music, music track repeats
    and
B)Adjust slides to fit length of music.
Now, I want to put more than one track. How?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Create a playlist in iTunes and then select that playlist from the Media pane in iPhoto. Just click and select the playlist icon.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Can't gift more than one song at a time

Does anyone know how to gift more than one song at a time (not an album, but non-contiguous songs off one or multiple albums)?
I tried adding them to my wishlist so I could add in several, but I already own several of the songs and you can't add songs you already own.
Of course, this would be resolved if they would just bring back the shopping cart, but for now, I have no idea how to accomplish what should be a very simple task.

It is, indeed, frustrating, and seems short-sighted on Apple's part. Imagine a shop owner saying, "You can buy anything you want for yourself, as many as you like, but if it's a gift, you can only buy one."
I did receive a nice response from Apple confirming that this is, in fact, impossible to accomplish:
    Dear Michael,
Welcome to iTunes Store Customer Support. I am Animesh and I will be assisting you today.
Thank you for your interest in giving an iTunes Store or App Store gift. I understand that you would like to gift multiple songs from different albums. I understand that this is important for you.
Michael, please note that you can buy a song, an album, a video, an audiobook, a TV episode or season, a movie, or an application for anyone who has a valid email address. However, there is no such option to gift multiple songs at a time from different albums. You are required to gift them individually, also the Wishlist feature is for personal usage and not gifting.
I can realize that it must be difficult for you. I have felt the same way in the past when I've found myself in similar circumstances. I have found in situations like this that voicing your opinion is a good way to get the "ball rolling".
Please know that Apple takes the feedback from our customers very seriously. This is the reason for our feedback page - to create a forum where our users can vent, praise or share whatever feelings they have to allow us to meet your needs, and grow as a company.
I took the liberty of submitting your feedback to Apple on your behalf. I would also encourage you to share this link with all of your friends and family who wish to submit the feedback, and have them all submit the same request.
Here is the link for you.

I know sometimes it feels as though submitting feedback will not yield results, so I will also invite you to check out the following link. This is a letter from Apple's CEO addressing customers who purchased an iPhone very early on at $599, then the price went down to $399 shortly after. Mr. Jobs heard our customers and Apple responded accordingly.

I hope that you will consider sharing your thoughts on the feedback page.
Michael, we very much appreciate your concerns, and if there's anything else I can do for you, just respond to this email and let me know. Thank you for supporting the iTunes Store.
    Sincerely,

  • Can more than one song be selected for slideshow on IPhoto? If so how

Am trying to put together slideshow of granddaughter's birthday party but want to use more than one song as have a lot of photos.

Thank you for sharing your expertise. I have taken that and tried to create a document on how to do this. You will see some different/additional comments. My idea is to share it with everyone once it is finalized. I am about ready to try and walk through all the steps for real but would ask you to read this over before I commit several hours more to this project. Any comments are appreciated. I am concerned about steps 9 through 13. Not sure i have it right. Any comments will be appreciated. Maury

How to create a Slideshow on DVD
    with music
    using iPhoto and iTunes
    as input sources
    1. Select, crop, and fix slides needed from the iPhoto library. Put them into a newly named folder. (Not a slide show.)
    2. Import this folder into iMovie using KenBurns ON.
    3. Add any necessary transitions between various segments of resulting movie.
(This should be the finished visual project. Using this write down the exact timing needed for stop/start each segment and the total length of the movie.)
    4. Go to iTunes and select various tunes/songs/music desired.
    5. Go to Amadeus and open a new file. (This single will end up the same length as the visual project).
    6. Open JACK to connect iTunes to Amadeus.
    7. Choose a tune, find the correct snippet of music and adjust to stop/start times from 3 above. Move your snippet to Amadeus. Use cross fade so one snippet will blend into the next one. Load these in the correct order of the slideshow segments.
(Note: Music purchased from the iTunes Store is "protected" in ACC and will no render into another format. This means it cannot be used in this example. A major inconvenience.)
    8. Your result will be string of snippets strung together in proper order and in total making up a single file the same length as your slideshow.
    9. Paste this new music file into the iMovie.
    10, Close iMovie.
    11. Open iDVD, select your theme and leave the menu window open.
    12. Open the iMovie project file (Control-click on it and select Show Package Contents) and navigate to the Shared Movies/iDVD folder.
    13. Drag the .mov file in there into the open iDVD window being sure not to drop it into any menu drop zones.
(You'll know if you are in a drop zone (if there are any) since a text link appears with the same name as the movie file you're dragging.)
(This allows iDVD to do the rendering thus eliminating two renderings on the same file which reduces image quality......)
14 Save the project to Disk Image instead of burning directly to disk.
    15. Open the disk image and launch DVD Player.
This will let you check out the finished project with DVD Player before committing to disk. You'll be able to check out the audio sync, typos etc.
    16. When you are ready to burn to disk use File>Disk Utility.
(See: Burning a disk image file on a CD or DVD in Mac OS X.) The first step, saving to Disk Image is the encoding process and takes the longest time. Often it will seem like it's hung on the audio encoding but let it go on and on, as it often is the longest part of the encoding process.
    17. This should be the finished product.
    18. Snail Mail DVD to adorable grandchild and wait for parents to call saying it made them both cry. (Of course, this implies you are a grandparent.)

About item 16, is there any way to tell the difference between "hung up" and "encoding" while it is going on?

  • More than one song for one slideshow?

Is it possible to play more than one song, or like a playlist, for a slideshow? I have tried selecting a whole playlist and it shows how many items are selected, but after the first song plays it plays again and again. My slideshow is over 1,000 pictuers long and I do not want to continue to play the same song over and over, is there any way to do this?

I have play lists that I select and that play with slide shows - This may be one of these things like saving photo edits that seem to randomly work and ramdomly do not
At one time it looked like selecting multiple songs would work but it seems not to but, at least for me, selecting a play list does work.

  • Setting Equalizer for more than one song at a time

Is there any way to set the equalizer setting for more than one song at a time. For example, if I have a classical music album with 10 songs, can I set the equalizer for "classical" for all 10 songs at once? It's a pain to have to do it for each one individually. I tried using the "shift" key, but to no avail.
    Thanks,
    Joe The Author

highlight all the songs you want then right click and go to get info. in the options tab at the top there is an equalizer preset option.
