Adding pages in Tab in APEX

Is it possible to add multiple pages in a tab conditionally ? (This means the tab will open pages based on a condition)

Don't think so. But you could open a page that redirects you to one of the other pages based on a conditiion.

Adding one more tab in apex 4.0??

Hi All,
In my home page, i already have a Tab thats having four different name.When i click on that name its navigating to four diffrent page
I want to add one more tab below the existing Tab,The new tab should contains these there values Home,Report1,REPORT2 when I click Report1 it should navigate to page 3 and similarly for remaining names.
I tried to create a new tab set as well as new tab..but that’s getting added in the same Tab. I have changed the Page template as Two level Tabs also but then also not getting resolved , do I have to set any properties?

Page and Tab create error

I am getting PAGE_CREATE error while adding a new page. On create new page, after filling page name & description it displays the error message below.
I am runing iAS9\Portal 3.0.8.9 on Win NT4.
No installation errors.

Well ... this appears to be a serious problem with the Portal as it renders it incapable of adding pages and tabs. I've tried reinstalling it on 3 different servers, used another instance of Oracle database, and the result is still the same. No installation errors, and suddenly after 7-10 days this error starts appearing.
Am I the only one experiencing this type of error? ...and can anyone offer\suggest ways to fix it?

Adding a New Tab Page in Cprojects 4.0

We have added a new tab page by the method of Global Enhancement to Cproject we are successfull in getting the link in the tab page. But the page we had created thru webdynpro
is not seen in the tab page it gives a blank page. We are using Cproject 4.0 can u help us.

Creating simple jquery TABS in apex

All,
I am creating basic jquery TABS in apex but i realized its just not working as i thought... i really need help on this please?
what i did created in my region i added below code

Safari prefs open Pages in Tabs "Always" not working??

For some reason Safari "open pages in tabs"+"always" setting has just stopped working. Tabs can be created by opt-clicking, or from within the tab menu bar but NOT by clicking on a link in a page - which it used to. I have deleted Safari plist and cache but no luck. I have made numerous changes in the prefs menu and saved and reset and relaunched Safari but it does not work. I used to be able to open every link into a new tab just by clicking but this has just stopped happening and there was no new software added to Safari. Restart of machine does not help either. Any clues? Thanks and cheers! Sam

Reinstalling the same version of Safari would have no effect. What I'm asking is whether there was a change in the behavior of the same version (not the same copy.) If there was, please link to a page that exhibits the change and specify exactly what it is.
It's normal for Safari not to open all links in a new window, regardless of settings. The effect of that setting is to open pages in a new window when the page code calls for them to open in a new tab. That's all.

Problem adding a new tab to e-Recruiting

Hi,
I am facing the following problem in adding a new tab in the E-Recruitment (Manpower Requisition) application. The developer had created a new BSP page of the following information.
Name space: SAP
Application: ZHR_MPOWER_REQ
Controller URL: MPR.DO
A customized element (9001) had also been created with the above information.
I have also created a context ZTEST and a Container Seq '1000' and under the Container Seq, I have allocated a few assignment of Element of which I have assigned the new element - 9001.
Having assigned the above, I am still unable to see the new tab in the link. Please let me know if there are any missing steps.

Alvin, i could not see why you could not see the BSP Page.
Please got to t-code SLG1 and check the log's why it's not coming.

Clear Cache of a Page using Tabs

Hello,
my problem is, that i want to clear the cache of a page, when the user accesses this page by clicking a tab.
So my Page has six items, which are used to search people in a db.
Under the items is a submit button, which submits the values in the items and the same page is loaded with the search result.
But when i go on another page and click on the tab of the "search-page" the result is still there.
Because of the submit button i can not create a process which clears the cache when the page is loaded....

This is not possible using the built in Apex tabs. Apex tabs are meant to quickly switch between pages with all your session state intact.
You can do what you want if you use a List instead of tabs. You have full control over List entries and you can clear cache for the list target page, set other items as needed (you can control the full f?p= URL)

Page with Tabs

I do not use Tabs in the main part of my application, but I have a single page that needs to have them. My page has 3 (form) regions that display different data. What is the best way to set this up with tabs so each region's data is on a seperate tab?

I have asked this before about having tabbed regions to be containers/placeholders to hold and display data but did not get an easy to understand answer. Tabs in APEX appear to only be navigational i.e. allow you to navigate to another page. Some answers went onto point to examples using buttons on regions with show/hide regions code behind them but they are not very well documented nor explained.
Just my tuppence worth.

Adding a new tab in PPOME

We have a requirement like adding a new tab in the trasaction PPOME.
Can somebody share their knowledge on this.

All infotypes that are to be added to the transaction, either SAP or Customer MUST have a screen 7000. This makes integration very simple. Another option is to develop a Module Pool with a screen and code to present one or many infotypes, but this is very time consuming compared with simply adding 7000 as a copy of 2000.
In the case of SAP, standard infotypes that must added without an existing screen 7000 a screen 9000 must be created to take the place of the 7000. Screen 9000 is in the customer name space but must be created in the SAP development class. for example 9000 screens has to be created for infotypes 1005, 1037 and 1050. Requests has to be made for development of screens for 1005 and 1016, but due to the special nature of the screens it was not possible.
Entries must be made in T77ID to reflect the additional screen.
Configuration Steps
Various steps must be performed to achieve the requirements, which include:
Removing Tabs
Adding Tabs
Adding Search Nodes
Scenario Scenario OME0 is configured to reflect the requested changes. View T77OMTABUS defines the tabs that are available by scenario per object.
Removing Tabs
Maintain View T77OCTABUS
Add Object and Tab page entries for the correct scenario to remove entries.
Adding Tabs
The first step is to define a tab page in view T77OMTABS. In most cases, this should be an Infotype specific entry that uses screen 7000. For solutions that are more complex a Module Pool can be developed.
Once added, perform the same step defined in Removing a Tab, it will have the reverse effect. Use the Sequence number to determine order.
Adding a Search Area
To add an Area to a Search Node you must customize V77CSEAT. In this case, one entry was added for Object type C to allow for a search on Job Group/Family/Series.

Exporting & importing a page having tabs.

We are having a problem when exporting and
importing a page, which has tabs, and a
user has customized the portlets on one
tab. This looks like a bug,but thought I will
ask here for any workarounds or settings I
might have missed.
Steps to recreate the problem:
- login as portal30
- Create a page with tabs.
- Grant customization privs to
authenticated_users
- create a user(say testuser)
- login as testuser.
- customize the tab, by adding a portlet.
- logout.
- export the page using pageexp.csh
- login as portal30 and delete the page.
- import the page.
- login as testuser and you will see that
the customized tab is missing!
- As a workaround(a bad one..) I tried
to delete the user ( as portal_sso) and
created it again...but the problem still
exists ie the customized tab has
disappeared.
Any help or information is appreciated.

Are you definitely using a 2 Level tab page template?
It can be changed in the display attributes of your page definition. In APEX 4 in the tree view double click on the page name when editing your page in application builder. If your using component view or less than APEX 4 then single click on the page name when editing your page in application builder.

Page Sentry Setup - Oracle ApEx 4.1.1

Hoping someone can please assist or point me in the right direction but I am creating a new Page Sentry setup in Oracle ApEx 4 based on the following link:

I have pretty much just used what has been provided from this link with a few minor changes but my question that I cannot figure out why it is happening is that in MS IE8, when I fire up my app, it all starts up fine and and sets up my APP_USER and APP_SESSION fine but what I have found that, when I go to a new tab in IE8 and start up another session for this very same APP_ID, it is assigning the same APP_SESSION as the previous session, which is not what I am after from the Page Sentry.
Could someone please assist with what I need to change this pl/sql code, so that a new session id is always generated when starting up a new IE8 tab in the same browser window.

If you are using OAM, why would you want each tab to have a different session?

If I'm not mistaken . . . your problem with Apex 3 is now solved in Apex 4 (unless you implemented a broken page sentry function), because the session id in the url is backed by a cookie. If the session id in the url doesn't match the credentials in the cookie, it cancels the session.
At the same time, since browsers share cookies between different tabs, the database can't distinguish between page calls from one tab from page calls from another tab - because they pass the same cookie. This is a browser issue, not an apex limitation. I don't think its possible to have each tab be treated as a separate session, unless you disable the cookie, and that leaves you open to the problems you had with Apex 3.
I keep saying "if I'm not mistaken", and that's because I've got 0 applications under my belt (well, I have a websheet, but that doesn't count). I've been studying page sentry functions on-and-off since November 2011, and got nowhere. Fortunately, I discovered how to do what I wanted to do without using a page sentry function.

When I click on a link in report it opens another report on the same page. Instead I have to open the report in a new page/new tab. Is this feature available in obiee 11g version? If yes, could you please tell me how to make it possible?

Use Action Link...to open link in New Window
1.Go to edit Dashboard...
2.Select Action Link from Dashboard Objects.
3.Click the Action Link Properties and Type your Report Name in Link Text Box.
4.Select New Action Button and Go to Navigate to BI Content
5.Choose your Report from your path and click ok button
6.Enable Open Link in New Window(IMP) and click ok.
7.save and check your dashboard page...

How to count number of documents in a page with Tabs

We have a page with Tabs and sub tabs for each Tab. There is no limit for the Tabs and Sub Tabs. I mean a Tab can have several child tabs and each child tab can have n number of Sub Tabs. We have documents laoded on Tab level and sub Tab level also.
I want to display the count and size of the documents loaded on a page. That is If Page1 has 2 tabs and each tab has 2 sub tabs and on each sub tab there are 2 documents of 10 MB then I should be able to display like this.
Page1 - number of documents: 8 , documents total size 80 MB.
By linking documents table and apges table I am able to get the results by tab not by page.
Any advice is appreciated.
