Adding small image to all shapes

I have created some oval domes, by making the shape and adding background via swatch. As you can see i have added a small bird image to 1st one, but need to know how to add to all at same time.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to add a small image to each oval all in one go?
Do I have to convert the shapes 1st and if so to what?
Regards Budgie

budgie,
As I (mis)understand it now, you do have all the ovals with the background text/images (which may have been created in the way suggested in my post #2), and you wish to have the bird image on top of each, in one go.
In that case, you may, having create the bird image and placed it on top of the first oval:
1) Select the bird image and Effect>Distort & Transform>Transform, then insert the horizontal centre to centre distance between ovals as Move Horizontal with the desired number of copies (2 to correspond to the image);
2) Repeat 1) only with Move Vertical by the vertical centre to centre distance and the desired number of copies (1 to correspond to the image).
This should create copies of the bird image on top of the other ovals. You may Object>Expand Appearance to get individual images.
I managed to add bird via "stroke" as suggest above,
I am unsure about the meaning. My suggestion was (before adding the bird image) to Direct Select the Clippings Paths (the oval paths) and give (all of) them a stroke in one go.

    Thanks leroydouglas.
Wow, looks a bit too tech for me. I tried the template method but it does not really suit my needs.
My old iMac on OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) - which is now gathering dust, always had the small photo image at top right hand corner of e-mails. Not sure how it got there, must have been in the set up by my son. I recently up- graded to MacBook Pro and iPad, so the iMac now hardly used, but I recently "lost" all my contacts on the iMac AB and now the image no longer appears on e-mails.
So, I thought all I would have to do is include the image on my own AB card on the MacBook Pro, but alas no success. I really don't think I want to go through with all the detail supplied. I thought it would be another chacteristically simple Apple "Drag & Drop" exercise.
    Thanks for your troubles Leroydouglas.

  • Adding an Image on top of Zoom area

    Hello everyone,
I'm a brand new user of Captivate and I'm working with version 4.  I'll do my best to not get on your nerves with all the newbie questions!
Current issue - I'm working within a single slide and have a small segment highlighted with the Zoom function.  The Zoom is working great, but there are multiple items within the Zoom box that I would like to highlight/indicate for the viewers.  I want to use a basic arrow to point at the icon I'm referring to in the audio, so I've tried adding an Image of an arrow, but it always appears behind the Zoom box when I Preview or Publish the project.  I've tried using both jpeg and bmp formats for the image and see no difference.  I've also tried to work with the Order of the Image and Zoom, setting them to 'Step Back, 'Bring to Front', etc, but it doesn't make a difference.
Any suggestions on how I can get the image to show up on top of the Zoom box?
Side question - I had to find an image of a basic arrow on the web, as all I could find within Captivate 4 are the Animated Arrows.  Does Captivate have good old basic arrows and pointers?  If so, where might I might find them?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Slideshow image resizing when adding new images

I am creating a series of slideshows on multiple pages. I created one slide show using the "basic" slideshow and resized it to the dimensions and settings I wanted. I have many pictures all of different proportion, therefore, I selected the "fill frame proportionally" so they would all fit the dimension I set. I wanted to use this first slideshow as a template for all of the rest. I added images to this first slideshow with no problems. All of my different sized images scaled or cropped to fit within the dimension I set. The problem comes in when I do two things: 1) When I add other images of different dimensions to this same slideshow gallery, they come smaller that the intended dimensions I set previous. I check the setting and it is still on "fill frame proportionally" similar to the first batch of pictures. 2) The second issue is when copy this slideshow as a template to other pages. When I try to replace or add to the slideshow gallery, the images come in cropped or smaller rather than filling the frame. Again, the settings are still the same from my very first slideshow that worked just as i intended.
I could resize all the images to all the same dimensions using another program like photoshop, but that is another step that is very tedious and it would seem that it should be something built into Muse.
Is there a way around this?. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just one of those glitches that happens with Muse? I appreciate any help that I can get.
    Thanks!

Hi, I got it to work like this:
Using background colours in Photoshop so that all sizes are the same in pixels. Then manually adjusting thumbnails by double-clicking on them so that a red square appears.

    Hi there Elsemiekagain,
I had to fiddle around with my slide show to get it to work. That is, it worked at first, then went funky, and I had to fiddle. So much fiddling that I can't possibly know what actually made it start to work again.
And to some degree, this is the way that I find Muse to be in general. That it requires finessing to get it to work as expected. This adds a good deal of time to every development project, though I am getting better at this with practice and experience.
Most of it is not even things that could be easily put in words as instructions, as many are nanced. But in fairness, this version of Muse is a complete code re-write this year. So we do need to cut Adobe some slack, and give the team time to iron things out.

  • How do I create a new image composed of a number of smaller images?

    Hi,
    I'm attempting to work with the assorted image APIs for the first time and am experiencing one main problem with what I'm trying to do. Here's the scenario;
I have an image file (currently a JPEG) which is 320*200 pixels in size, it contains a set of 20*20 images. I want to take such a file and convert it into a new JPG file containing all those 20*20 images but in a different grid, for example a single column.
I'm currently having no problem in working my way through the input file and have created an ArrayList containing one BufferedImage for each 20*20 image. My problem is that I just can't see how to create a new file containing all those images in new grid.
Any help would be much appreciated and FWIW I've included the code I've written so far.

Any and all advice is welcome.

Do you have different versions of the graphic novel pages, or is there just one version of the page? If there is one version, can you crop into the page without losing anything important?
I would guess that there is one version, and that cropping into the page will lose something important. If that's the case, here's how I would handle it:
Make a stage that is 14:9. The size doesn't matter, but 1400x900 could be a good starting point.
Put down a background texture that fits well with the look of the other images. Make that fill the 1400x900 stage.
Place your page graphics so that they are within the center 1200x788 area of the stage.
Set the stage scalemode to "noBorder".
You now have a layout that will work on all devices, as narrow as iPad, and as wide as iPhone 5. All without any code. On the widest devices you'll see a bit of your background pattern to the left and right of the page graphic. On the narrowest devices you'll see a bit of background pattern above and below the page graphic. But you won't lose sight of anything important.

  • Adding Border Image

  • Dividing One large Image to many smaller images

    Dear Java developers,
I have 1 Large Image, and I want to divide it
into many smaller images, But I don't see
any Java API to make it...
    Anybody can help me ?
    Thanks in Advance,

I'd guess using BufferedImage and subimages thereof is faster than filtering it. Although it depends much on the implementation of the original image source, and its caching strategies. But it's pretty certain that when you are creating a BufferedImage which is appropriate for you current color model, you avoid most conversions which may be needed when rendering directly from an image source.
Having said that, the image source and filtering way may even use more memory and cpu than the buffered image way. At least temporary. But the image source is allowed to release almost all memory associated with the image, down to retaining only the original URL.
    In simpler words:
    - With BufferedImage you can be quite sure how much memory it will need. Add up the space needed for the Raster and auxiliary data and there you are. It won't change much over time. But it's not present in JDK 1.1.
    -- Simple, predictable and modern.
    - ImageSource is pretty much opaque in how much memory it will use. However, it's interface allows dropping most resources and re-creating them on demand. Of course, you'll know what it does when you're implementing it yourself. Which I tend to do from time to time.
-- Complex (flow control), opaque but present in JDK 1.1.
Your mileage may vary. There would be no challenge in programming if there were no tough decisions to be made ;-)

Images are static.  They don't resize to fill the browser viewport without special scripts or coding techniques which can create other problems.
The best approach is to use small image slices or tiles and repeat them horizontally, vertically or both with CSS.

  • Scan large image with small image.

Is it possible to take a large and a small image, and check if the small image is somewhere in the large image.
Perhaps with some sort of precision so it doesn't have to match 100 %.

Or... Perhaps some code-example, You are probably not fully aware of how difficult this is. It's impossible to post an "example snippet": it's no Hello World kind of thing.I agree. In fact, I'm guessing OP isn't up to speed on "Image Processing". If so, I'd recommend OP studies Image Processing for a good 6 months to a year before even attempting this project.
links to tutorials, source-code etc. would be nice! The Quantitative Imaging Group of the Technical University in Delft are among the top of their field:

I'm sure they have some interesting reports/publications on their website.Yeah, and you can search for pattern recognition or image matching or something and find stuff on Google. It's not the most complex thing in the world, but you have to understand some core fundamentals. i.e. if you're right out of high school you'll need possibly months of study before succeeding.

  • Apple TV Upsizes small images

    This is driving me nuts.
I used to sync iPhoto to my Apple TV and all was good. Images from my iPhoto library looked fine on the Apple TV.
Now I'm using Aperture, and most images look fine - except for the smaller 640x480 pics. Apple TV is trying to display those full screen on my HDTV, and the upsizing makes them unviewable. I don't remember this being a problem with iPhoto.
Is this a problem with Apple TV?
Is this a problem with the conduit between the iPhoto/Aperture and Apple TV?
I'm guessing the iPhoto conduit had a different upsizing algorithm that looked a whole lot better on Apple TV, and that Aperture uses a different algorithm.
Is there any workaround to this? Is there a way to force Apple TV to display the image in its native resolution instead of trying to make it full screen?

Trouble is we don't really know what iTunes does when syncing images to AppleTV - does it send the originals, does it resize up/down to a standard size for AppleTV playback?
I can't see any reason why AppleTV itself would treat a 640x480 image differently if it came from Aperture vs iPhoto. It may well be that either iTunes treats them differently or as you say the conduit between the apps and iTunes behaves differently.
It's also possible a recent iTunes update has dumped a decent interpolation/resizing algorithm for something far worse.
Why not just import a few images into iPhoto too and compare those synced from iPhoto to those from Aperture? That should indicate if there's a difference between images from the apps currently.
I just converted some 3:2 aspect ratio images to 720x480 and 640x427 and imported them to iPhoto as well as the original RAW image - synced all 3 to AppleTV and the low res ones actually don't look too bad even compared to the original.
