  • Sun Studio FAQ and Wiki

I've started adding some Sun Studio information to the
OpenSolaris Wiki at genunix.org. Check it out.
    http://blogs.sun.com/quenelle/entry/sun_studio_wiki

    Hi
Yes it's possible. Just make sure that they are installed in different directories e.g.,
    /opt/SunStudio8 and /opt/SunStudio12.
Studio 12 now installs links to /usr/bin (IIRC this is an option during the install). I'd suggest that you not choose this if you plan having multiple compilers concurrently installed.

  • Openssh and dhcpcd updated today - now sftp cannot find local servers

    Hi folks,
I did my update thing this evening 'packer -Syu' and openssh was updated to 6.6p1
    [2014-03-19 18:44] [PACMAN] upgraded openssh (6.5p1-2 -> 6.6p1-1)
and dhcpcd was updated to 6.3.2-1
    [2014-03-19 18:43] [PACMAN] upgraded dhcpcd (6.3.1-2 -> 6.3.2-1)
and then sftp stopped working as it was ok before the updates.
I get error messages like this:
    [dellgx270:steve] /home/steve
    1442 20140319 234019 $ sftp laptop.local
ssh: Could not resolve hostname laptop.local: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer
    [dellgx270:steve] /home/steve
    1443 20140319 234030 $ _
This is how I network my machines. Its much lighter on resources than either NFS or Samba, but is a bit tricky to configure at first go. The Arch Wiki has some older stuff in it and is a bit confusing for first-time users but I also 'googled' other forums and eventually got things configured correctly. Ubuntu flavors work out of the box, but Arch needs some extra leg-work to get things organized.
I tried removing the ~/.ssh/known_hosts files but that didn't work. Since the error was a resolver issue (according to my error messages) I tried using the IP address of the laptop.local machine 192.168.2.10 and that worked both at the command line and via my file manager thunar (I run XFCE on all my boxes because it works well and with a few additions I can get it to do what I want) ...
Problem is, the IP addresses are assigned by dhcpcd (which means they can get reassigned somewhere else) so I would prefer using the host.local names in scripts and bookmarks etc.
Anyone else having issues of this sort? Inquiring minds need to know!

From the Arch Wiki - Networking - Avahi page (this is what I've been using for more than a year):
"Avahi is a free Zero-configuration networking (zeroconf) implementation, including a system for multicast DNS/DNS-SD service discovery. It allows programs to publish and discover services and hosts running on a local network with no specific configuration. For example you can plug into a network and instantly find printers to print to, files to look at and people to talk to. It is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL)."
I don't use hosts file or anything else to resolve the names of the local workstations and/or devices. I have a relatively new Sagemcom fibre router / modem device, and it has been working well since installation ..
What I've been trying to say - as in my initial post - that this worked properly before I did the dhcpcd update. I'll recheck all the settings for dhcpcd, ssh and sftp (and anything else in my networking configurations) to see if anything is in error. There were no .pacnew files created during that software update. I'll post anything that I learn.

  • I cannot download an app from the app store, it keeps loading until it says "You have already purchased this app so it will be downloaded no at  no additional charge", and then it prompt for password and I input it after which nothing happens.

I cannot download an app from the app store, it keeps loading until it says "You have already purchased this app so it will be downloaded no at  no additional charge", and then it prompt for password and I input it after which nothing happens.
I know my icloud has record of my installing this app before, but that was the first install that was failed during that time some other apps also keeps loading without respond whey they updated itself, and this app didn't install before I restart the device. But I don't see this app on my device after I restarted the device so it should have been installed on my device. It seems icloud has created some kind of dead loop that makes it not able to get the correct status about this app on my device.
I have no problem install this app on my other device (iPad) with the same account, but just fail on my iPhone. And it just fine installing other apps...... What happened !!?? @@
    Please help !!!

Someone help! I dont know how to do this and please put the words into an easy way to understand because im young...

  • CS5 Bridge will not open, Air will not install, and AAM Updater will not update.  Please help!

I am having several problems with CS5, and as best I can tell they all seem to be related.  I purchased CS5 about a month ago.  Photoshop has opened and ran fine.  However, recently AAM notified me some several updates available.  When I tried to update them they all failed.  This lead to the discovery that Bridge will not open at all, Air installs but with an error and cannot update itself or applications like Adobe Help, and since the AAM updater ran it now thinks everything is up to date.
I have search endlessly for every piece of information I could find on this issue.  As well as, sat on the phone with tech support for hours.  As best I can tell, (and really I have no evidence to support me), it seems to all be related to a permissions issues.  However, I have tried everything the forums suggested with no luck, and Tech Support ended with me doing an Uninstall and reinstall (twice), while repairing permissions in-between.  I am about at the end of the road with this issue and would greatly appreciate any additional suggests you could offer.
    Some additional details.
Running a MBP i7, 8GB RAM, and MAC OSX 10.6.4
    Bridge Issue,
When attempting to launch Bridge it simply returns an error "This operation could not be completed..."  I tried the option click and reset method, no luck.
    Air Issue,
Kind of works, but at the same time doesn't.  In that in one of the previous installations programs like Adobe Help would not run.  Now Help does run, however, when I go to update Air it says it completed successfully but then immediately gives me an error saying "~this may not be allowed by the administrator..."  I also cannot update Adobe Help, it just sits and says preparing to update.
    AAM Updater Issue,
This appeared to work fine until I attempted to install an update.  It downloaded everything and then failed on the install.  However, now it thinks everything is up to date, but nothing is.

Well despite not getting much love on this forum.  I was able to correct the problem.  I tried every solution that google would produce on these issues.  Ultimately it came done to permission issue.  I was lead to this fix by a person on flickr that suggested permissions as the cause.  However, his solution was to modify the permissions in the home directory root and apply them to every subsequent folder in the home directory.  Although quick and easy, I felt this would lead to more trouble then it was worth.
I did some more digging and what I discovered is that all the permission of the Adobe folders in the home directory library (not the HD library) and the application folder did not match all the other folders in those areas.  Some of the files in some of the folders did not match either.  So I made them match (the ones that matched I left alone), and everything seemingly went back to working normally.  It was a bit of a pain going folder by folder.  Fortunately there where not many of them.  About 8 in total, plus the internal folders.

  • OS X 10.5.8 Running VERY slow since installing Safari and itunes updates.

Installed latest Safari and itunes updates today. When my OS restarted the install took a really long time and since then the computer is so slow its un-usable. Its a Macbook Pro, 2.6 intel dual thingy (the model just before the uni-bodies came out).
I have down the PRAM reset and tried launching in safe mode. Neither or these made any difference.
I then started with an install disk installed and while holding down C. Again, it took a long time to boot, but once in that mode I launch the various utilities etc. So I opened disk utility and verify and repair disk...but it found no problems.
Perhaps I should have repaired disk permissions?
Also I thought this might be a lose ram issue or something. I don't have a screw driver to open up RAM slot and re-seat it, but also in 'about this mac' it can see the ram...?
I am very frustrated right now! What have i done to my computer?!
It was running 100% fine until I did this software update.
...and when I say it is running slow, to give an example clicking Apple/N in finder takes maybe 5 for that window to appear followed by another few minutes of the whirling wheel of death. Then I can click on the next item (apps for instance) and go through a similar wait.
    argh!

No very clear idea of why it is behaving like that Samuel, but in 95% of cases it is some third party add-on, not yet updated for Safari 5, that is the cause.
Please peruse the following, particularly with respect to Open DNS settings:
    Some general advice on updating:
It is worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, as they have all been extensively beta-tested, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first to an external hard disk. Ideally you should always have a bootable clone of your system that enables you to revert to the previous pre-update state.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site.
The Combo updater of Leopard 10.5.8 can be found here:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Full details about the 10.5.8 update here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3606
More information on using Software Updater here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24901?viewlocale=en_US
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.5.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications and turn off energy saving and screensaver.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them compliant with the latest version of your operating system. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 4.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed an OS update and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party add-on.
Additional tips on software installation here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106692
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
    • /Library/InputManagers
    • ~/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

  • Have a membership Adobe says I have a free membership , trying to re-load and/or update INDesign CC - Keeps Asking for serial

I Have had a paid membership for over a year, Adobe says I have a free membership , I have PAS and AI installed and updated - When trying to re-load and/or update INDesign CC - Keeps saying my trial is over and is asking for serial number. I have uninstalled Indesign and the Creative Cloud desktop App.
Running on a PC, Windows 7 Professional
    Any suggestions.

I cannot tell you how to resolve this, but I can tell you what happened to me since I made the mistake of buying a year's membership.
Like you, I noticed that despite paying the fee and it leaving my account, I still only had access to the trial versions of the apps. I read around and some people commented that it took some time for the billing team and other teams to co-ordinate information at busy times (though it seemed odd a company of Adobe's size would have this workflow) and as I could still make do with the trial apps, I waited.
Eventually, with the trial days going down to the low digits, I contacted Adobe "customer support" to ask how I could rectify the problem. They cheerfully told me that I had not purchased a subscription from them, that I was not on their records and with this the implication that my expectation was foolish as I didn't own their product. I supplied some bank information to show I had paid and they had taken money, but I just got the same poorly worded response telling me records had been checked and there was no way I had been charged. The issue was closed and it was clear to me I could not change their mind despite having evidence that clearly indicated Adobe had charged me the exact payment for the service I was asking about.
As some weeks had gone by I resolved to contact my bank, but the birth of my Daughter in late October meant I forgot to do so. My mistake, I know, but I think understandable. I noticed that in late November another charge was taken from my account (and I checked to see if I could access the apps but I was still being asked to provide a serial number I was never given (or needed if other people are correct on this). I contacted my Bank and asked them to prevent any more charges and also to begin the process of charging back the money for a service I never received. I sent them the correspondence I had with Adobe, in which they said I had never purchased the service, as well as copies of my account to go with the data they had access to. My money was refunded before Christmas, which I was very glad to see. I thought that it would be the end of it for a while and resolved to cancel. However under my account details it still shows I only have a free membership! I cannot cancel something I do not have!
I have now received a letter from my bank indicating Adobe have contested my charge back, and they have supplied documents that show I have signed up for and paid for the year's service. There is no indication of them acknowledging that despite the fact I never denied signing up, they failed to provide the service I paid for! Just that they want the money back!
So now I am in a situation where I cannot cancel and will continue to be charged for something that I still cannot access! I will continue to see if I can fight with the aid of my bank, but its a rather distressing that a company can  hold you over a barrel for something you never got, even by their own admission.

I did the update for GarageBand for iOS, but when I try to restore my purchase it tells me there is no purcahse to restore, but prior to the update I had purchased the additional instruments and used them...

I was able to fix it. Here's what I eventually did:
Deleted everything that even remotely looked like it belonged to Garage Band: the application, the application support folder, the Garage Band loops in the Library/Audio folder, the software update receipts (both in Library/Reciepts and in /var/db/receipts).
    Restarted the computer.
Reinstalled Garage Band from the iLife '11 DVD.
Upgraded to the latest Garage Band using Software Update.
Open the loops and click to download the additional instruments.
This time, Software update had a "Additional Instruments" upgrade available, and everything seems to have gotten installed.
One warning: Reinstalling Garage Band from the DVD trashed my installation of iPhoto (even though I unchecked iPhoto in the install options). I had to repeat this process with iPhoto (toss the app, reinstall from iLife DVD, upgrade iPhoto in Software Update) before it would work again.

  • Call function module in backgrouns task and in update task

Hi Gurus,Pls crear me on the " <b>Call function module in backgrouns task and in update task</b>".
how it works and waht is the link with LUW  releated to these .
also heard that commit work statement aslo linked with this.
Pls clarfiy me with expalnation of code.

    Hi sridhar,
the explanation already given is correct and good. Small add-on:
All functions called during one LUW with addition IN UPDATE TASK are stored together with their actual parameters in a temporary memory area. The moment a COMMIT WORK is issued, the functions are released to be executed by a so-called update task which is running in the background. This explains why functions called in update task never return anything, no SY-SUBRC and no export or table parameters If a function called in update task raises an exception or runs into an error the calling user will get an express message informing about this. Also, all database updates done by this update process are rolled back to keep consistency.
This proceeding helps to keep database tables consistent and allows the user to keep on doing his work before all database updates are complete. You may have seen messages like "material will be changed" after saving. If you open the same material immediately, you'll get a message "object locked by...<yourself>". This means the update task is still running.

    Clemens

  • [Forum FAQ] DNS Dynamic Update Troubleshooting Guide

    As we all known,
DNS Client service and DNS Server services support dynamic updates. With dynamic updates, the DNS client computer is allowed to dynamically register and update this resource
records based on their fully qualified domain name by default. However, in some scenarios,
    we may find that
the DNS records are not updated.
To analyze this issue clearly, this kind of issue is divided into two parts in this article:
Non-AD integrated zone with DHCP and DNS unintegrated
AD-integrated zone with DHCP and DNS Integrated
Next, we begin to troubleshoot this issue from the above two classes separately.
Non-AD integrated zone with DHCP and DNS unintegrated
    1. Check if Dynamic Updates is enabled or not
If you have encountered this kind of issues, firstly, Please check if dynamic updates is enabled in DNS server or not. You can right-click the domain in the
Forward Lookup Zones, then select Properties. In the dialog, click
General tab and choose Nonsecure and secure
in the Dynamic updates box, then click OK. Please refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2
Figure 1: Check DNS Server Settings-1
Figure 2: Check DNS Server Settings-2
    2. Check DNS Suffix
Besides, since all computers register records based on their fully qualified domain name, and the fully qualified domain name is based on the primary DNS suffix of a computer appended to its Computer name. We also need to check the DNS panel of Advanced TCP/IP
    settings in TCP/IP properties.
Just as Figure 3, if Register this connection's address in DNS is selected and
Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration
is not selected. This default configuration causes the client to request that the client register the Host resource record and the server register the PTR resource record. In these scenarios, please make sure the primary DNS suffix portion of a computer's FQDN
is the same as the name of the Active Directory domain to which the computer is joined.
Figure 3: Check DNS Client settings-1
You can run “ipconfig/all” at the command prompt to check the Primary DNS suffix. From Figure 4, we can see that the Primary DNS suffix is blank.
Figure 4: Check DNS Client settings-2
To set the Primary DNS suffix, you can follow the steps below (Figure 5):
    Right-click
My computer and then click Properties.
    In the
System Properties dialog, click Computer Name tab and then click
    Change….
    In the
Computer Name Changes panel, click More…, then you can type the domain name into the
Primary DNS suffix of this computer and then click
    OK.
Figure 5: Set the Primary DNS Suffix
After set the primary DNS suffix, we can see that the Primary DNS suffix is demo.com in Figure 6.
    Figure 6: Primary DNS Suffix-demo.com
    If both
Register this connection's address in DNS and Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration are selected. You need to check the primary DNS suffix and connection-specific DNS suffix at the same time and make sure that
the connection-specific domain name of this connection is the DNS suffix for this connection appended to the computer name. In the picture above, we can see that the Primary
DNS suffix and Connection-specific DNS suffix are the same.
AD-integrated zone with DHCP and DNS Integrated
    In some cases,
this issue may happen when the DNS zone is AD-integrated and DHCP server is configured to register and update the A resource records and PTR records on behalf of the DHCP-enabled clients.
    1. Check if secure dynamic updates is enabled or not
As everyone knows, DNS update security is available only for zones that are integrated into Active Directory Domain Services (we
can see the difference from Figure 7 and Figure 2). Since secure dynamic updates can prevent unauthorized computers from overwriting existing names in DNS, generally, we recommend
using only secure dynamic updates for AD-integrated zone.
For AD-integrated zone, we can check if secure dynamic updates is enabled in DNS server or not firstly.
You can right-click the domain in the Forward Lookup Zones, then select
Properties. In the dialog, click General tab and choose
Secure only in the Dynamic updates box, then click OK. Please refer to Figure 7.
Figure 7: Check DNS Server Settings-2
    2. Check the DNS configuration and options settings on DHCP server
    We need to make sure
that DHCP server is configured to register and to update client information with its configured DNS servers. You can check by right-clicking the
IPv4 under your domain and choosing DNS in IPv4 properties.
    By default,
    the
Enable DNS dynamic updates according to the settings below and
the Dynamically update DNS A and PTR records only if requested by the DHCP clients box is checked.
You can also select Always dynamically update DNS A and PTR records box so that the DHCP server
always registers and updates client information with its configured DNS servers. (Figure 8)
    Figure 8: DHCP Server Settings
In addition, you need to check that the configuration 006 DNS server option in DHCP option is correct.
You can check that by clicking
Server Options in DHCP console. If the setting is incorrect, you can right-click the option and then choose
Properties, then you can remove the wrong DNS server and add a correct one. (Figure 9)
    Figure 9: Check DHCP Options
    3.
Check if the DHCP server is added to the DnsUpdateProxy security group
Furthermore, as the DHCP server becomes the owner of the name since the DHCP server performs a secure dynamic
update on that name, only that DHCP server can update the name. We would make sure the DHCP server is available. If the DHCP server fails, even other DHCP servers are online, they still have no right to update the client’s record because the other DHCP
server are not the owner of the client name.
To solve this, it is necessary to add the DHCP server to the DnsUpdateProxy security group in AD. You can follow the steps below to achieve that: (Figure 10 and Figure 11)
    Open ADUC, click
    Computers under your domain.
Right-click your DHCP server and select
    Add to a group tab.
    Enter
DnsUpdateProxy in the object name box and click
    Ok.
Figure 10: Add DHCP Server to the DnsUpdateProxy security group – 1
Figure 11: Add DHCP Server to the DnsUpdateProxy security group – 2
After that, you can find that the DHCP server (In this demo, the DHCP server is W2K12R2) is a member of the DnsUpdateProxy group. (Figure 12)
Figure 12: DHCP server is a member of the DnsUpdateProxy group
    4.
    Check the
    Credentials configuration for DNS update
    Furthermore, if
a domain controller is running on the same host as the DHCP server and secure dynamic DNS update has been configured, you need to configure
    Credentials for DNS update.
    You can
    open DHCP console tree, right-click
IPv4 and then click Properties. In the IPv4 Properties
    dialog, click Advanced, click
Credentials, type the credentials that the DHCP server supplies when registering names using DNS dynamic updates, and then click
    OK. (Figure 13)

I have created one STATIC DNS Entry, for Example "ROSE" and
    1.                   Open
    the DNS snap-in.
    2.                   Right
click the individual record (ROSE) and open the Properties dialog.
    3.                   Uncheck
the Delete this record when it becomes stale option
    and click OK
    For
the moment the time stamp will show as BLANK
    Then
I logged in to server "ROSE" and restarted DHCP Client
Service on server or restarted server, the time stamp is automatically setting as current date and "DELETE THIS RECORD WHEN IT BECOME STALE" check box also selected automatically
and gets deleted after a week or so when the scavenging runs
    Is
there any way to avoid the static entries become dynamic automatically.
Domain Controller or DNS OS is Windows server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2

  • Provide ALE and IDOC Faqs and all Transactions

    Dear Experts,
I am new to ALE & IDOC.
Please provide ALE & IDOCs FAQs and all Transactions?
    Thanks in advance.

    <b>FAQS</b>
    A L E
Q: Our IDOC remains in status 51 ( not posted) while testing ALE setup by passing DEBMAS02 Idocs. The message 'Field KNA1-BRSCH is not an input field'. This is the Industry key. What are we missing?
A: Go to IMG - menu path IMG->LogisticsGeneral-> Logistics Basic Data: Business partners->Customers-> Control->Define Account groups and field selection for customer.
Select sold-to or ship-to. Select General Data. Select control and double click. Industry key is found here. Change the option to 'Optional Entry'.
Check OSS 5599. You may have to update view V_T078D also.
    E D I / IDOC
Q:1 We created an EDI Vendor and created all required output conditions. However no IDOC is generated when PO is printed. Why?
A: Go to Header->output for the PO. The output type shall be '6'. The status shall be '1'. If the status is '0' check the timing. If the status is '2' , go to 'GOTO->Processing Log' and the explanation for non-generation of IDOC can be seen.
Q: How can we create / upload IDOC's from legacy system to SAP?
A: Third party tool Mercator may be used to convert Legacy files to Idoc format. Mercator provides an IDOC tree import facility, SAP provides the export facility. You can transfer the Idoc layouts from SAP to Mercator automatically and then map.
Q: We want to receive an outbound EDI 855 IDOC only if E2EDP20 -scheduling confirmation segment is present. Else get an "error" status preventing triggering the EDI subsystem.
A: User exit logic has to be added in function IDOC_INPUT_ORDRSP.
Set up a test flag and set it off when the IDOC header is read.
Turn the flag ON when the EDP20 segment is read.
Interrogate this flag when the next segment after EDP20 in the same IDOC comes in. If it is on ,you have an EDP20 coming in.
Issue an error status 51 with suitable message for whichever condition you don't want the IDOC to be processed, This will stop the IDOC from posting.
Q: Where ever PO is sent to the vendor via EDI, we want an acknowledgement of the PO by vendor. Which fields are updated and what should be my procedure?
    A: Execute Program: IDOC_INPUT_ORDRSP
    Process code: ORDR
    Message type: ORDRSP
    IDOC: ORDERS01
The confirmation process allows the supplier to return an acknowledgment. Only Dates and quantities can be changed The information is stored in the PO and can be viewed via Item->Confirmation->Overview. The PO can be flagged as 'confirmation required' so that Pos without acknowledgement receipt can be monitored. Control keys and tolerances (days and quantities) have to be customized.
    Outbound:
Step 1. Application document is created when transaction is saved.
    2. Message control is invoked.
    3. Messages are processed by system.
    4. Messages are Edited (if desired).
    5. Output (ALE / EDI) is checked
    6. Validate against Message control record from Partner Profile
    7. Application Document is saved.
    8. Entry NAST table is created for every selected output program
    along with Medium & Timing.
    9. Check for Process Immediately .
    If (yes)
Determine Processing Program from TNAPR Table.
    ELSE
    Execute RSNASTED Program.
    10. Read Partner Profile to determine Process Code.
    11. Process Code points to the Function Module & Invoked.
    12. IDoc is generated.
    13. Check for ALE Request.
    if (Yes)
Perform Filters, Conversions, Version Changes etc.
    Else.
    IDoc is stored in DATABASE.
    INBOUND:
Step 1. EDI Subsystem creates an IDoc file from EDI Messages
    2. Subsystem calls Functional Module EDI_DATA_INCOMING from startRFC program.
    3. Data in Control Record is validate against the Partner Profile.
    4. IDoc is generated in Database and syntax check is carried out.
    5. IDoc file is deleted once file read.
    6. Event PROCESSSTATE REACHED is triggered in Idoc Object Workflow.
    7. Check for Process Immediately.
    If NO
    Execute RBDAPP01 Program
    Else
Read Process Code from Partner Profile
Process Code Points to Function Module
    Application Document Posted.
