Address Book - Create multiple contacts at one company?

I am using Address Book v 4.0.4 and I want to be able to create multiple contacts at one company without having to reenter the Company, Tel. and Address information each time.
Is there a way to duplicate an address, say the basic company address, to make the process of entering multiple people at one company any faster?

I talked to Apple today and here is how you create multiple contacts at one address, company etc. without having to reenter everything.
1) In Address Book, highlight a contact in the name list
2) Go to the Edit Menu & COPY
3) Go back to the Edit Menu & PASTE
4) Make changes to the new 'duplicated' contact
Seems easy if you know how to do it.

Multiple contacts in one company?

Hi all, a quick question on something that's always bugged me. If I enter contact info for multiple employees at the same company, I can never see who those employees are when scrolling through my contact list.
For instance, I if enter the contact info for 4 people at a company called "Floserve", when scrolling through my contacts later on, all I see is 4 duplicate entrees called "Floserve". I have to select them all individually to get the iPhone to scroll to the next field where I can see each employee's name. This is a real pain with 20+ people I need to contact at one company. Is there anyway I can flag people as working at the same company, but have my contacts sorted by their names, and not the duplicated company name?

The way I handle this issue is as one poster already suggested, plus groups. First, the "company" checkbox is for companies, not really people, so it should only be used for the company's entry, not the people associated with it. You can still put the company info in each of the contacts, right where it says "company" when you edit the contact, but don't check the company checkbox.
Next, create a group for each company that has several people, and that you want to have such a group. Drag those contacts into that group. (I use smart groups to collect them: just set a condition whereby the "company" is the company's name, then drag the resulting smart groups contacts into the real group you named after the company). Now when you sync, if you're showing "All Contacts", the people will appear in their alphabetical place, and if you just want to see those who are at that company, just tap "Groups" in the upper left, and tap the group you created for that company. The list will then populate with only those who are in that company. So I have several groups like that, one for each company that has more than just a couple of names that I want to be able to get to by company.

Address Book creating multiple duplicates!!

My address book keeps creating multiple duplicates for the names in my address book. I have the wireless sync off and I also have no duplicates allowed setting off, but it still creates them.
What is going on with my blackberry?

Contacts - multiple contacts in one company

Hello, just wondering if it's possible to put multiple contacts at the one business. eg. if I have three contacts at DHL for instance, currently I see 3 occurrences of DHL in the list of contacts because I have ticked 'Company' in each of those contact cards. is there a way to have various people details but within the one card? (or should I be doing something completely different?)

I understand that I can add fields and call them what I want but I don't think I can control where those new fields go. their position seems predetermined. Also ideally I'd have those separator lines between each employee too. I can't see how I can achieve this unless i can create new templates and swap templates when I want. I see that one can edit the template but that seems to be the end the matter. and i can't control separators either i don't think.
You could look at editing the template, but first of all ensure that you have at least two backups of your present Contacts as it is.
It can be found by opening Contacts and in the menu bar, select Preferences and navigate to Templates
There you can add and remove to build your own template. But, a word of caution, I am not sure if that would then be the Template for all the contacts that you have. Be sure to have at least two independent backups before attempting this. Make sure that you know how to restore from that backups.

I am sending emails to a Smart Group created in my address book. The contact in my address book has multiple email addresses. Is there a way for the email to go to both addresses? (ex: work and home email address under one contact)

In my address book, I have contacts that have multiple email addresses. (ex: home and work) I have created a smart group off of the company name in the contact. When I send emails, I want it to go to both email address listed in the contact. Is there a way to make this happen? Or do I have to have a separate contact for each email address?

I will agree with you on this one. Version 31 and all the fixes so far are a mess. Since I have been here answering questions for a little more than a year now I have learned to wait to upgrade until all the dust settles. I see no end to the dust storm version 31 has caused. I am still on version 24.6 and plan on staying there for the duration. At least until the developers comes to their senses and put out a working product.

Create a Contact on an address book other than the default one

Hello everyone,
I am using a professional address book and calendar on exchange provided by my company. I am also using my iCloud account to manage my personal address book and calendar. I have set up my iphone 4S to display both address book and calendar, this works well, same for the sync mechanism.
When I create an event on my iPhone using the standard calendar app, I can simply indicate whether it is a personal or professional event.
When I create a contact using the standard contact app, there is no way to indicate wheter it's personnal or professional. The contact is created on the default address book that I setup in the settings. The only way I found is to hide all categories except the personal one and then create the contact. It is then created not on the default address book but on the only one displayed. It is rather awkward and that does not solve all problems : I have some contacts already created by mistake on my professional address book that I want to move to the personnal one. I found absolutely no way of doing that. The same thing for calendar events is straightforward: open the event for modification, simple toogle the appropriate field from Pro to Personal and you're done.
Does anyone have a hint for this ?

Data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts do not match.

The data in my iMac address book and iCloud contacts are different. How can I get my iCloud data to accruately reflect that of my iMac address book? It appears to be an initial synchronization issue. New entries synchronize fine. Appears that initial entries in my Address Book are not showing up in the iCloud Contacts list. Hense, My iPhone coantacts don't match those in my iMac.
Is there a way to clean out my iCloud contacts on reload/re-sychronize it with my iMac Address Book?

Nuts isn't it. This seems to have been an issue snce dAY 1. iT FROSTS ME THAT THERE IS NO SIMPLE QUICK WAY TO UPDATE OR CORRECT the data in both programs simultaneously.. Thats why i decided to just put everytning into the i cloud address brook, and let the one other sit and rot.
then i got smart and said, why don't I delete the outlookaddress book files. and save on confusion.
result - both addresses books and their contents became invisible to outlook.!!!!!! and I can find no way to correct this...to go back to the imperfect world that was.
I did get the outlook contact s back from an archive - but any thing from icloud has become inaccessible from outlook. (fortunately i can get the vcard infformation directly from icloud. but I can't access it from outlook mail.... means no replying, forwarding etc - and a time swallowing nuisance..

Sync Address Book with Google Contacts

Hi,
recently I am syncing the Mac Address Book and my iPhone with Google Contacts.
If I add a birthday to one of my contacts on my iPhone, the birthday also will be added on Google Contacts. If I sync my Mac Address Book with Google Contacts now, the birthday doesn't show up on my Mac Address Book.
So my birthday calendar in iCal always is empty...
Any solutions?

Hi,
Google uses Google Sync to synchronize your contacts with your iOS and OS X. But this, from Jan 30, 2013, is only available to the paid versions of Google Apps (read more on http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2716936).
You can continue to sync on both iOS and OS X using the CardDAV protocol, which, IMHO, is even better.
Follow the instructions in this post: http://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077?hl=en
Mountain Lion Contacts also supports CardDAV accounts. All you need to do is add the CardDAV account with your account credentials and it will synchronize again.

How to sync Address Book with google contacts (google apps)

With Leopard and Snow Leopard I could sync my Address Book with Google Contacts (in google apps). Now with Lion I can't find a way to sync those contacts. I have an iCloud acount for my personal contacst but our company uses Google Apps for sharing the contacts, and I would like to know how can fix that.

Address Book creating thousands "No Name" cards

Thought I had a MobileMe syncing problem, but have now narrowed it down to Address Book creating hundreds and thousands of Contact cards for "No Name" all by itself. I go in and delete them and they reappear seconds later. It's a loop: delete them, Empty trash, they come back.
Just installed Aperture 3 last night. Could this be the problem?

To repeat: deleted all "Address Book" plist files, launched Address Book, deleted 4000 "No Name" cards, waited a few moments, Quit and re-launched Address Book, waited a few moments, 4,000 + "No Name" cards add themselves back into Address Book.

Address Book and Google Contacts...?

What's the story with syncing Address Book with Google Contacts?
I set it up once, but since then it has not been able to syncronise changes made to either AB or GC (nb. even after clicking the sync button).
Is there a trick to maintaining syncronisation???

I ended up getting a new phone, straight through Apple. I called their technical support and went through all he basics again and they decided to replace it. Was a pretty quick process - after defaulting and resetting the whole phone (about 2 hours), I called them back to inform that there was no change, so they set up the order.
I had to give my CC# so they could hold a charge on it (in case I didn't send my old phone bach, which they sent me a pre-posted package to send it in anyway). Had a brand new iPhone 4S in my hands in 4 days, which was pretty decent. I had uploaded everything previously to iCloud, so setting up the new phone was a snap.
Only thing I really didn't like was they charged me almost 30 bucks for shipping or processing, or something. Not so sure that should have been my responsibility after spending so much on a brand new product, only to have to have it warrantied after, like, a month.

What kind of trouble should I look for when creating multiple JFrames in one application. These JFrames will talk to each other via drag and drop. Is this ok?

What kind of trouble would you like? I'm sure you can engineer all kinds. As long as you have a place to hold the frame references, you should be okay. If you need them.
You can do drag and drop between components in different frames, no problem. Better read up on drag and drop first though.
