ADE TO KOBO PROBLEM

Hi...i have downloaded adobe digital editions and can access books from my public library...
HOWEVER THE DIGITAL EDITIONS WILL NOT ACCESS MY kobo...THE kobo IS CONNECTED TO MY COMPUTER WHERE THE ade IS INSTALLED..
i HAVE TRIED RELOADING THE ADE SEVERAL TIME AND WITH DIFFERENT BROWSERS...NOTHING WORKS ...i HAVE UNINSTALLED THE ADE SEVERAL TIMES NOTHING FIXES THE PROBLEM...I CANNOT TRANSFER BOOKS FROM THE COMPUTER TO THE KOBO

If it worked before, and doesn't work now, AND you haven't changed anything
on your computer (including updating your Windows/MAC software and updating
ADE), then you should contact KOBO and see if there's anything new on their
end. My guess is that something in the operating system has changed.
If KOBO has an update to its software, try it and see if that fixes the
problem. If there's nothing new, instead of messing around with ADE
reinstalls (which may not do anything to help), try deauthorizing the KOBO
ereader (check the Adobe HELP section for how to do this, and the proper
key combinations). Close ADE, so the settings will take effect the next
time you open ADE, and shut off your computer (so its settings will be
changed also). Then, power up and attach the KOBO, so the operating system
shows it knows that it's there. Then, start ADE, and see if it recognizes
the KOBO ereader. ADE may ask you to authorize it, and when you do, things
should be back to 'normal'.....

Ade 4.02 Problem with PageUp/PageDown

Using ADE 4.02 on Windows 7. When viewing an ePub book the PageUp/PageDown functions advance the page number at the bottom of the display, but do not update the text. If I switch to Library view and then go back to the book, the page text updates to correspond with the page that I advanced to. This makes it impossible to read a book on the PC. Everything works fine on my Kobo reader when the book is downloaded to it, but I'd also like to be able to read on the PC.

What shell are you using?
Can you pastebin the contents of your ~/.inputrc in case it's bash, or the output of `bindkey' in case it's zsh?

Ade and kobo connections

I am trying to reconnect my kobo reader to my adobe digital editions program to read borrowed library books and when i try to authorize my computer to connect it keeps telling me "You can only only authorize this computer with an adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again". What should i do?

Deactivate the program on one of the other devices. Most Adobe products allow for only 2 installations for use by the owner.

ADE - Loan expire problem (change local machine datetime)

first , i set DeviceType of content to standalnone /on and off-line/. Then loan process is successfully, but i can read ever. because i change my local machine datetime when the content is expired. i hope Digital editions is can detect when user change local mechine datetime. but i can't how i do configure this.
second, i set DeviceType of content to public /always online /. Digital Editions throw information "Document is not licensed for this machine" when i loan the content.
What i do now?

Can't register (or see) a KOBO in ADE using Ubuntu

Greetings and thanks in advance for any help. I am running ADE through Wine in Ubuntu, and ADE works fine on my PC. I have downloaded a DRM book that I bought and can see that fine on the PC. When I connect my KOBO, however, the KOBO is not recognised or identified in any way as a library or bookshelf. I used the Adobe tech support chat line and they helpfully suggested that I use the installation assistant, which is not activated for some reason, and when that didn't work, they referred me to the forums. Hmmmm.
I have already tried deleting the contents of .adobe-digital-editions as is suggested in the Nook posts wthout success (there was only one file in that folder anyway). And I have successfully copied files from my PC to the KOBO for reading by merely copying the files over directly, though this isn't possible for DRM books which require the use of ADE.
Anyway, I could re-install ADE in windows (my machine is dual boot), or it could be some kind of compatibility problem with my KOBO. The KOBO was automatically registered with Whitcoull's site when it was first connected (the bookseller in these parts). I am not really sure where the problem is: Ubuntu relying on Wine, with the ADE install, some form of required connection to the seller of the KOBO's website, or a compatibility problem between ADE and KOBO. With that range of potential problems, does someone have any ideas where to start?

There are quite a few people who are having this problem, me being one of them. I tried to email Apple tech support about it earlier today and I received a "try again later, circuits are busy" answer.
I haven't had a problem downloading either, but it is annoying to get the "register your ipod" screen every time that you connect to your computer. I'm surprised that Apple hasn't done anything about this yet.
Keep me posted if you finally figure it out.

Ich habe folgendes Problem: Ich habe einen neuen eReader um genau zu sein den Kobo Glo. Ich habe schon alles Mögliche versucht, von Pc neustarten ADE neu installieren, PC DEauthorisieren, anderes USB Kabel/Port etc. (...)
Es hilft alles nichts, ADE erkennt den Reader einfach nicht, dementsprechend ist es mir auch nicht möglich das Gerät manuell mit ADE zu verbinden. Am Kobo kann es eigentlich nicht liegen, denn der Pc erkennt ihn schon. Ich kann mir höchstens noch vorstellen, dass es irgendwie mit meinem Betriebssystem zusammenhängt, ich nutze Windows 8.1 32bit. Ich habe mich durch sämtliche Supportforen und Foren mit ähnlichen Themen durchgelesen, allerdings hat mir nichts davon geholfen. Inzwischen bin ich ziemlich verzweifelt, ich hoffe mir kann irgendwer helfen.

Zwei Möglichkeiten.

Ja, es war sehr frustrierend , alle Bücher aus der Bibliothek nach dem Upgrade auf Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 lesen.
Schließlich stellte sich heraus , dass der Prozess müssen Sie unter Einstellungen auf dem Gerät Kobo aus dem Kobo -Gerät -Konto anmelden .
Was wir taten, war, alle Bücher aus der Bibliothek aus dem Kobo -Gerät und von der Adobe Digital Edition entfernen
Weiter war es, wie auch aus dem Kobo- Geräte unterzeichnen die Kobo Desktop auf dem PC sowie dem Austritt aus Adobe Digital Edition.
Weiter war zu starten Kobo Desktop und melden Sie sich
Weiter war es, den Kobo Gerät an den USB -Port anschließen.
Dies führte zu dem Kobo- Gerät aufgerüstet und mit dem Kobo Desktop synchronisierten . Warten Sie, bis die Synchronisierung abgeschlossen ist
Trennen Sie das Gerät aus dem Kobo- USB-Anschluss
Weiter war die Adobe Digital Edition neu starten und mit STRG -SHIFT -D , um den Computer zu deaktivieren und wählen Sie Löschen Autorisierung.
Weiter war es, zurück zu Adobe Digital Edition gehen , Hilfe und Autorisieren von Computer-
Weiter war es, den Kobo Gerät an den USB -Anschluß anschließen
Weiter war es, das Gerät in der Kobo Adobe Digial Ausgabe auswählen und das Gerät autorisieren
Weiter war es, ein Buch in der Bibliothek Adobe Digital Edition zu bekommen und dann ist es auf dem Kobo- Geräte hinzufügen
Alles scheint von nun an arbeiten.

Es gibt viele Fehler in ADE2.0 ( und 2.0.1 ) . Ersetzen Sie ADE2.0 mit dem älteren , aber zuverlässiger v1.7.2 .
( Sie können sie beide auf einmal installiert, wenn Sie möchten. )
Version 1.7.2 , ist es ein wenig schwierig zu finden , auf der Adobe -Website für Windows und für Mac.

Es scheint ( nicht 100% sicher ) , dass wenn man als ADE2.0 installieren eine neue Installation (nicht als Upgrade ) , die Ihren 1.7.2 läuft weiter .
Wahrscheinlich am besten , nein zu sagen , wenn 2.0.x Installation gefragt, ob Sie Ihre Bibliothek migrieren möchten.

Yes it was extremely frustrating process to read any library books after the upgrade to Adobe Digital Editions 2.0.
Eventually it turned out that the process must have you sign out of the Kobo device Account under settings on the Kobo Device.
What we did was to remove all library books from the Kobo device and from the Adobe Digital Edition
Next was to sign out of the Kobo Device as well as the Kobo Desktop on the PC as well as exiting from Adobe Digital Edition.
Next was to start up Kobo Desktop and sign in.
Next was to connect the Kobo device to the USB port.
This resulted in the Kobo device being upgraded and Sync'd to the Kobo Desktop. Wait until the Sync is complete
Disconnect the Kobo device from the USB port
Next was to restart Adobe Digital Edition and using CTRL-SHIFT-D to deauthorize the computer and select Erase Authorization.
Next was to go back to Adobe Digital Edition, Help and Authorize Computer
Next was to reconnect the Kobo device to the USB port
Next was to select the Kobo device in the Adobe Digial Edition and Authorize the device
Next was to get a library book in the Adobe Digital Edition and then add it to the Kobo Device
Everything seems to be working from then on.

I was able to transfer my library books by downloading and then transferring them to my kobo through ADE. Now when I open my ADE my Kobo doesn't show up but the kobo is connected to my computer and I can see it in my control panel.

Does anyone know how to authourise ADE on a Kobo Touch?

I have downloaded and authourised my laptop. But I need to transfer books onto my Kobo but its not authourised with ADE.

You should be able to authorize it by
plugging Kobo into computer using USB
making sure Kobo is turned on
run ADE
check Kobo is showing as connected to ADE (left pane)
use menu/Help/Authorize Device to authorize (Library/Authorize Device if you are on older more relaible ADE v1.7.2)

Unable to open library books on Kobo Touch

I am unable to open library books which are DRM protected on my Kobo Touch. This is a new problem in the last few months. The message on my Kobo is "This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again." At Kobo's suggestion I have done a factory reset of the Kobo Touch. I have also deauthorized both the computer and Kobo, and authorized them again. Still no luck. Please help! I have wasted ALOT of time on this.

There seem to be lots of people have Kobo problems at the moment.
I haven't got one so I am not sure if this will help, but read around the post below and see it it matches.

Images look blurry in small, medium and large view in ADE

Hi,
I am working on creating an ePub compatible on ADE, iPad, Kobo and Mobi. I have fixed the issue of image overlapping in ADE view by keeping the width as 100%, but the image looks very blurry on ADE.
Does anybody advise?

It may sound counter-intuitive, but could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved?

Problem with authorising a device that was previously recognised.

Ok,I upgraded to windows 8,bought nano th geneeration,everything worked great with iTunes.Computer crashed,had to restore to factory settings and back to windows 7,downloaded all my programmes again including i tunes,now my nano is showing as it should on i tunes,it is saying that it is syncing but it is not.I check devices and it says that only my computer is authorised,how do I get i tunes to recognise my nano to allow syncing.Also,it says that I have authorised 4 computers but know that I have only authorised two,my notebook and my laptop-should I de-authorise them all and start again,advice appreciated,thanks in advance.

1 - try to deauthorize the Kobo, ctrl-shift-E (cmd-shift-E on mac) to ADE with kobo plugged in, then reautrhorize
2 - try factory reset of Kobo and reauthorize from ADE

Authorization problems

I opned my book with adobe without authorizing my computer. I had to reinstall adobe now I cant authorize my computer or read the book. When i try authorizing it replies the vendor account you entered is not associated with the item you are trying to open.

I am having a similiar problem after having to re-install my operating system and ADE. I installed ADE with no problems but it will not accept my Adobe ID so I authorized my computer without one. Now, when I try download my ebooks from the library I get an error message.

Kobo e reader help

my kobo e reader will not open a library book transferred from Adobe digital editions. Message indicates that document is not authorized for use with my adobe ID which I have activated

Can you please make sure, both your ADE and KOBO is activated with the same account?
Also please share the ADE version you are using?

ADE error - Check Activation

I've been using ADE for downloading library books for some time but recently had work done on my computer. Now ADE gives me a message "error - check activation" every time I try to download. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ADE but the problem persists. I am able to open ADE but not download. The program indicates my computer is authorized. I'm running Windows XP. Any suggestions?

Thanks to previous discussions I was able to solve my problem by deauthorizing my ADE with (ctrl-shift-D) and then re-authorizing my ADE. Thanks everyone for their input.

Try de-authorizing and then re-authorize the computer.
Please make sure that you remember the user-id/password correctly.

I can't see my Kobo to download books in 4.0

Hello,
I have a Kobo e-reader. I downloaded 4.0 from Adobe and ordered a book from my library. I can see the book is there but Adobe cannot see my Kobo. I uninstalled and tried again, re-booted my computer, and still no luck

Connect your KOBO to your computer using a Micro USB cable.
Tap Connect on your KOBO .
Launch ADE.
Kobo eReader will appear in bookshelf (listed on the left side under Devices).
