64-bit version for windows not working
ive installed the 64-bit version for windows, i connect my 5s and it tells me to uninstall itunes and reinstall the 64-bit because the itunes isnt the right version
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Does Firefox 7.o have a supported 64-bit version for Windows 7?
On the system requirements page for Firefox 7.0, I found the following statement: "Please note that while the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be used to run Firefox 6, only 32-bit builds of Firefox 6 are supported. at this time."
I do not understand why Firefox 6 is mentioned on the Firefox 7 system requirements page. I have Windows 7, 64 bit version.
Does Firefox 7.0 have a supported 64 bit version that runs on Windows 7--64 bit version? Not yet. The web page text is incorrect.

when trying to download ipod reset utility for windows i get a message that the installer is intended for 32-bit version of windows. what can i do?
I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.

Staroffice 64 bit version for Windows
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. Is it out there? Will it be out there? I think I see that there is a version for solaris.

Many drivers and software for T530 are still 32-bit, despite being offered for 64-bit operating systems.

Which drivers are you looking for?
I took a quick look through the T530 page, and didn't see any that were 32-bit only.

64 BIT VERSION FOR WINDOWS. What's the holdup?
Windows XP 64 bit has been out for quite some time. Vista 64 has been out close to a year.
Some versions of ITUNES work, but later upgrades don't.
When is the expected timeline of releasing a version that works with 64 bit windows?
I had to use a friends pc to activate my I-phone, but it would be nice if I could do such a thing at home for the price I paid.I agree whole-heartedly! This is such a simple fix to simply package the 64-bit Gear Software driver.
I really dislike being so dependant on companies like Apple and Microsoft's free media players because it kills the market such that no one else makes a really good third-party alternative. -

Hi All,

The early 2008 24" iMac 8,1 has a 2.8 ghz E8235 Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a data width of 64-bits.
I am straining badly to understand why Apple is only providing drivers for the 32-bit version of Windows 7 for the 64-bit hardware that I want to install it on.The 64 bit drivers are there, but there have been some installation
issues depending on Windows OS and Apple hardware. You may
want to post on the Bootcamp forum to get more direct response to
your issue.
FWIW, at one point, I forget when, I found I needed to manually
open the 64 bit versions of the drivers to install them that were created
on the bootcamp driver install disk (image). As I recall the was a
64 bit .msi "global" installer but even at that there was an individual
one that needed to be manually installed.
Its been a while since I last did this since I have been doing everything
in Windows virtual machines with Parallels. -
Has anyone not been able to get the iTunes installer to load properly and get a message like this: This iTunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows. Please download and install 64 bit iTunes installer instead. I have tried repeatedly to get this to load, I have uninstalled iTunes completely and reinstalled and still get the same message. I have windows XP and a brand new ipod touch which I am trying to load.
Yes, it's come up a number of times. If you look to the right under "more like this", you'll find threads that may offer useful suggestions.

While installing latest version of iTunes error "This iTunes installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows. Please download and install the 64-bit iTunes installer instead" how to deal with it ?
Doublechecking. What's the filename of the installer you've been downloading? (The 32-bit installer is called iTunesSetup.exe, and the 64-bit installer is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)

I get this error message when installing the itunes64Setup.
Installer is indented for a 32-bit version of windows. Please obtain a 64 bit installer from www.apple.com/support.
Originally ,I copied my old 32bit files from Vista to a new windows 7 machine and then I tried to reinstall iTunes and got the error message.
In addition, i tried to uninstall iTunes and it will not uninstall. Then I tried to clean it off manually and reinstall it. I still get the same message Installer is indented for a 32-bit version.
Any suggestions.64bit architecture is a bit tricky, particularly when it comes to hardware. While I'm fairly sure Apple (like a lot of other companies) will work to support this in the future, the fact is that folks running 64bit right now are in a huge minority (less than 1/10 of a percent) and it's impossible to support everybody.
There are probably about 10 times the number of folks running some version of Linux on their PCs (we're not talking Macs here right now) and yet they can't use the iPhone or a whole lot of other things. It's just the way of thw world -- pick something that isn't mainstream and you pay for being on the bleeding edge.
It will catch up to you -- patience is indeed the key. -
When I try to intall itunes it comes up saying 'This Itunes installer is for 32-bit versions of windows. Please download the 64-bit ITunes instead.' How do I download and install the 64 bit version instead?

ITunes 7.6 and Windows XP Pro x64 ---- 64 bit version of Windows XP Pro
My wife was given an iPod nano, so I downloaded the current version of iTunesSetup.exe from www.apple.com and tried to run the executable. It told me that it wasn't designed to install iTunes on my 64 bit version of Windows XP Pro, and that I should go back to www.apple.com and download the 64 bit installer. I went back to www.apple.com and searched for the 64 bit installer in vain. There is only one main link to the current installer and the website determines which version of the installer you're given. After a few google searches I managed to aquire iTunes64setup.exe from the Apple site. I ran the executable and it told me "This iTunes installer requires that your computer is running Windows Vista 64-bit" and then it gave me the option to exit. I ended up installing iTunes from the executable I had originally downloaded. I have iTunes 7.6.2.9 installed now but it doesn't detect, or can't operate my DVD burner, so I can't rip music with iTunes for use on my wife's nano. I get this error report when I run the Diagnostic test built into iTunes.
"Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 3790)

Failed loading CD / DVD drives, error -43. Try doing a repair install on iTunes from the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel."
And there was no change in the diagnostic when I first tried to repair the install and then tried to reinstall iTunes. I'm sure the burner is working because I can play music, watch movies and all the normal stuff a DVD burner can do using Nero.
I'm guessing I need an iTunes version of 64 bit optical drive driver.
Any help would be appreciated!

<Edited by Moderator>I got the iTunes 7 to work on XP Pro 64bit. What I did was this:
1. Downloaded DriverInstaller_AMD64EM64T.exe
2. Installed it.
3. Created this file tree: C:\Windows\Sysnative\drivers (Easier terminology, I went into the Windows folder and created a folder named "sysnative", opened that folder and created another folder called "drivers".
4. Then I located the folder where I installed DriverInstaller_AMD64EM64T.exe ..
5. I took the file called GEARAspiWDM and COPIED IT. I DID NOT MOVE THIS FILE!!!
6. I pasted a COPY of this file into sysnative\drivers. The folder I just made.
7. I installed iTunes 7, not 7.6. 7.6 and this method won't solve the burning issue. That would require more programs and more patients.
Note, you will have to manipulate iTunes when you want to burn. The best way to do this, I found, was to simply make a playlist and right click the playlist on the left column and select burn to disk. It should act normally.

With an early 2008 Mac Pro I'm about to add a second internal drive (1 TByte SATA) and initially install OSX Lion onto the new drive. Then to partition this new HDD via Boot camp. But my question is whether I am best advised to purchase the 64 bit version of Windows 7 (Home Premium) or the 32 bit version of Windows 7 (Home Premium) for the Windows sector of the disk What are the differences, and will I notice a difference in performance?
In chart from wiki, (scroll down to "Comparison chart") check the maximum CPUs supported.
You don't see this on MSoft's 1st searched for chart hit. This is one reason you will regret not paying for Professional+ if you get Home Premium 64 as I did for Mac Pro early 2008.
Home Prem Task Mgr sees 4 processors vs. the 8 that are seen by Pro+.
Costs more than a Mac upgrade to Lion if you make that mistake.
