Adjust image

have a new macbook pro early 2011 and am working in iweb 3.03. I can't seem to get adjust image to work. I can "edit in iphoto" but no in iweb adjust.
When I click on the image and then "adjust image" the menu comes up but is blank, no buttons can be activated. clicking on an image on the page, including right clicking option clicking etc, yields no results. clicking in the media/photos bar and selecting a photo-- nothing. No right click or option click options. Is my install corrupt? searched around on this group and other sites didn't really find any hints.
Anyone else?

HI Old Toad,
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I've done it twice, both times rebooting to no avail. To be clear, I am click on an image in the page and then going to "adjust". I've also tried clicking on an image in the media tab. Double clicking the image, and so on. Nothing.
OK, btw, I've been playing with iweb a little. You can edit photos on every page except for those included in a photo page. Whats up with that?!! I guess your supposed to use iphoto to prepare all the photos and then drop them in.
cheers,
mr

  • How do I save a photo after I have zoomed in on it?  I want to save the zoom-in as a new photo and can't work out why this doesn't work the same way saving a cropped image, or adjusted image does.  Thank you.

How do I save an image after I have zoomed in on it?  I can't work out why I can't save a zoom-in the same way
I can save a cropped image or an adjusted image. Thanks, Lily A.

Hi Matt, thanks for your reply.  Have realised that Zoom in Iphoto is just  a viewing tool and not an editing tool.
Was creating beautiful abstractions by zooming in and wanted to create a new image of the result.   Have since discovered that cropping after zooming takes me a little way to where I want to go but it isn't the same effect.  Will perhaps have to try to create it when actually shooting.  Am doing a photoshop course in February and maybe will learn a bit more then, too.  Am pretty much an amateur just finding my way.
    Thanks again,
    Best, Lily

  • How to batch change multiple adjusted images by a fixed amount?

Anyone know of a way to change the adjustment values of multiple previously adjusted images by a fixed amount? For example, if, after adjusting exposure of multiple images by various amounts, I want to lighten them all by 0.5, is there a way to do this? If I lift an exposure adjustment value of 0.5 from one image and stamp it on others that have non-zero values of x, even with the stamp option set to "add" rather than "replace", they all end up with exposure 0.5 rather than x + 0.5.

Nope - no way. but... you can add a different adjustment that does the same thing. For instance if you adjusted the exposure individually and you want to lighten them by a fix amount on top of that you could just add a levels or curves that does the exact same thing.

  • "Adjust Image" resets to incorrect image values

    Greetings all,
I have been using Pages for developing image-rich documents over the last several years and have found it a very helpful tool for my work.
I normally use the "Enhance" button found in the "Adjust Image" dialog to quickly improve the appearance of images in my documents.  If the enhancement is not helpful, I use the "Reset Image" button to revert to the original version of the image.  None of the slider controls in the dialog box are modified as part of these operations.
A couple of days ago I noticed that when I reset images now the slider for "Sharpness" moves to 75 (greatly affecting the sharpness of the image, and decreasing its quality).
I am unable to find a place where I can control the default state for this setting, which I would like to remain at 0 when I reset images.  I have for the last couple of days done this manually after each reset - which is less efficient and diminishes some of the utility of this program.
I have found this issue also present with Keynote.  Earlier today I erased and reinstalled iWork, including support and plist files found at:
    HD/Library/Application Support/iWork '09,
    HD/Library/Preferences (com.apple.iWork09.Installer.plist and com.apple.iWork09.plist),
    ~/Application Support/iWork
    ~/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Keynote.LSSharedFileList.plist
    ~/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
    ~/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.LSSharedFileList.plist
    ~/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
The problem still persists.  I would appreciate it if you could share answers to these questions:
    - Is there a setting to control the behavior of the Reset button in "Adjust Image" so that Sharpness remains at 0,
    - Are there additional files I should remove for a complete reinstall of iWork,
    - Is "Adjust Image" part of another program outside of iWork (Preview, iPhoto, etc) where I could set its default behavior?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Antonio

I received show from client with placeholders and most (but not all) images sharpened to 75.
I didn't reinstall iWorks since I didn't want to take any chance right before large live show.
All images were tied to a master slide but changing the master placeholder had no effect on Adjustments.  I manually changed the Sharpness to "0" on over 200 images so that they looked better and Magic Move transition worked.  I don't ever want to go through that again.
After show I did more research and tests and still don't know cause of problem but here is a fix if something happens in future.  This method should work for changing other "Adjustments":
    1.  Duplicate Keynote file for safety and save as different name (e.g. Unsharpen.key)
    2.  Change file extension .key to .zip & unzip the file.  It becomes "Unsharpen" folder.
    3.  Find "index.apxl" in folder and open with an Xml editor or TextEdit.app (worked better)
    4.  Within text "Find" this text string (with quotes):  <sf:kSFRSharpnessProperty><sf:number sfa:number="75"
    5.  Replace with:  <sf:kSFRSharpnessProperty><sf:number sfa:number="0"
    6.  Then Replace All
    7.  Save text file and quit editor
    Here's the tricky part...
    8.  Rename the text file to "index.apxl.gz" (without quotes)
    9.  Right Click "Unsharpen" folder name and Get Info
    10.  Add .key to end of name in Get Info and hit Enter.  Confirm adding .key
    11.  You should now be able to open file with Keynote and all Sharpness settings are at 0 and all photos are using the original image file name (without "filtered" tag).
    12.  Run show to confirm all is happy and save.
Let me know if any solution is found to original issue.

  • Adjust Image in photo grid or album?

How do I do this? I need to make image adjustments to photos I have in a photo page. I click on the image in the grid, but the Adjust Image window goes grey and I can't make any adjustments. What gives?

Those adjustments would have to be made prior to importing them.
Photo's in regular pages can be adjusted.
    From the help menu:
NOTE: You can’t use the Adjust Image window to modify photos in a photo grid (on a Photos or My Albums template).

  • Adjust Image window disappeared

I have a Macbook - it looks like the Adjust Image Window for Keynote is to the left or right of the screen beyond view. How do I get it back?
    cp

My inspector window was completely hidden with the additional monitor in full resolution, just like You describe it- funnily enough not even restarting the program/computer helped getting the window back in range
I found the ultimate help: with a second monitor (I use a laptop, so one is always in the go):
    - switch the display settings to "synchronize" and "attach" the additional monitor on the edge the inspector is hiding at (detectable by a little stripe that disappears when You push the inspector button- it should appear again so You can move it to where it belongs... thanks Fatih!

  • Adjusting Images in Smart Build

I have a series of images set in a Smart Build, and I want to adjust all these images (contrast, saturation, etc.). When I open Adjust Image - I can't make any changes to the smart build images. Does Smart Build enable this feature? I could just adjust them all in Photoshop, save the jpgs again, and drop them back in...but I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that.
Please let me know as soon as you can - I would appreciate it so much!
    Thanks!

Have a look here. Only workaround I have found is to re-do the build. Send feedback to Apple via the Keynote Menu.

  • Adjusting images for yellow stock

We have to adjust images to print on a yellowish stock that has a LAB reading of 94,-1,8 (CMYK=4,3,9,0). Should I just build a curve that pulls the cmyk down by those amounts? Or should I have our press actually run an IT8 chart on that stock, read it with a spectrolino and build a new ICC with GretagMcbeth?
The colors are really swatches in Illustrator, so each global color swatch would need to be tweeked. It would be much simple just to convert the documents color space from say US Sheetfed Uncoated to "Special Yellow stock.icc".
    Any thoughts?

    Thomas,
There are probably many different answers to this question depending on what you want the outcome to be. Normally, people select a warm, yellowish stock because they WANT the warmth of the stock to show, otherwise they would select a more neutral stock. This is true of jobs printed on an inkjet or press. I like a slightly warm paper for many of my prints, so I select a warm paper. Others look better on a cool white paper.
The color of the paper stock will always affect the quarter tones and highlights much more than the midtones and shadows, since much less ink hits the paper to cover up the substrate color. If you actually want your highlights to be more neutral, you will end up using some cool inks, such as cyan, to help neutralized the yellow of your paper. This will decrease the dynamic range of your print, since you are laying down ink in highlight areas. It doesn't always look natural, in my opinion (this is akin to using Absolute colorimetric rendering, which is fine for simulations, but I don't use it for printing a real job).
Gretag's ProfileMaker allows you to build profiles with a "neutral" or "paper gray" gray axis. It ONLY affects Perceptual rendering, not Relative Colorimetric. In paper gray rendering, the color of your paper base will affect the neutrality of the image all the way from highlights to shadows. It is like using the exact same press plates on two different paper runs, one on neutral white paper, and the other on warm, yellowish paper. The paper color will affect the entire tonal scale.
The "neutral" axis profiles will print highlights and quarter tones like the paper gray profile, allowing the color of the paper base to show through and skew the gray axis, but it adjusts the midtones and shadows so they are more neutral (more like absolute colorimetric in the mids and shadows).
I guess you could also attempt to edit the profile with a profile editor, but that might be a difficult proposition. I'm not sure you would like the results.
I'm not 100% sure what you wish to accomplish. Hope this helps some.

  • 3.5 now moving an adjusted image to front of event folder. Have forgotten how to not have that happen. Any ideas? Thanks.

3.5 moves adjusted image to front of event folder; how to stop that? Thanks.

When exactly does this happen?  Are you seeing adjusted images move in the filmstrip after editing? Where are you editing from - are you browsing a project, an album, a smart album, a folder? Sorry -"Event folder" is not clear.
If you are referring to the film strip in the browser, how have you set the "Sorting" pop-up menu?

  • Can't adjust images

Whenever I select an image and show the "adjust image" panel, pages will not allow me to actually change any of these settings. The sliders just won't move and the "Enhance" and "Reset Image" buttons are grayed out. I've been using Pages for nearly a month and have yet to figure this out-- all images in all of my documents have been un-editable. Am I missing something obvious here?

I believe they were originally imported from an Adobe Illustrator file. Is it the permissions on the image itself?
The principle of the thing is that while a colour photograph in TIFF or JPEG format is one and only one object in one and only one file, a colour photograph in PDF Portable Document Format is one object in a file format that can contain indefinitely many objects, and the objects can independently of one another by in one or more colourant components and in one or more colour management models (or left not colour managed). While it is clear what to colour correct in TIFF or JPEG, it is not clear what to colour correct in PDF, so colour correction is not implemented for this file format. If you want to colour correct a PDF in Apple system software, open the PDF in Apple Preview, save to disk as TIFF, open the TIFF in Apple Preview, and apply your colour corrections. Check the resolution of your TIFF in Preview > Tools > Get Info > Summary > Image DPI (Dots Per Inch). By default this will produce 150 DPI which is sufficient for a desktop printer, but for a digital press you need 300 DPI. If you are aiming for a digital press, convert from PDF to TIFF in another application that lets you control the resolution.

  • Adjust Image Problem - Image Changes when Mouse Click is Released.

I love the fact that images can be adjusted after insertion into a page (Things like brightness, contrast etc). The problem I have which is very frustrating is that while any control on the Adjust Image panel is selected and being edited (click and hold mouse button to move a slider), the images' contrast and brightness change (perhaps as if to indicate selection?). This is inherently a problem since it's these very characteristics you're trying to edit. So you adjust the image to your liking but when you release the mouse button, then image then suddenly changes and is no longer the way you want it. Anyone else seen this problem and have any helpful suggestions?

I have been trying to replicate your issue using  different format images..but I did not succeed.
If its not images and types that cause the  problem,  then the inference is that it the application.
The usual advice... unless you  want to contact tech support and present your problem to them - is to uninstall iBA with Appdelete or similar rather than dragged to the trash, and then do a reinstall.
This presupposes you saved everything/copies etc,.
BTW, I seldom use the various sliders, with practice using the LEVELS can be more effective, have you tried  this option?
