Administrator login in vs Apple ID
I want to download and it's asking for administrator login and password... It won't accept Apple ID/Password
It should not be asking for a password on download. What is the web address? It may ask you what you want to do, select save.
Once downloaded, the mac may ask for a password to install software.

Two weeks ago I installed a new Xserve running Mac OS X Leopard server 10.5.2. This machine runs FileMaker Pro Server v9 and MYOB File Connect. No file sharing users or any other services.
The problem: the Administrator login from on the Xserve no longer allows login. I have checked and rechecked that the correct password is being used. No luck logging into the Xserve. FileMaker Pro Server, and MYOB File Connect are running file and users are able to access these services without problems.
My question is what happened? Why can't I login to the Xserve and how do I resolve this without screwing things up and requiring and rebuild of the server?
Apple is certainly challenging my faith with Leopard Server.

BryanI had a similar problem shortly after the initial 10.5.1 install on a brand new Xserve quad core. Hadn't set up any services yet, just ran software update (including 10.5.2 update), after the restart I couldn't log in. Baffled the heck out of me. Yes, it was the correct password. Had to do a brand new install all over again.

I was not going to download Maverick because I had heard many less than favorable reviews. However, I started running into issues yesterday and now am stuck. I went to upload some images to a FB album and received a message telling me that I would need to download Adobe Flash Player or otherwise i could only upload one image at a time. Then I went to view a friend's video and received the same message. I chatted with a few fellow mac users who suggested I download OSXMaverick. I started to and received a message telling me I needed an administrator login and pw. I used my Mac Id...no go. I am the sole user of this device and always have been. I have no recollection of running into any such issue when downloading OSXMountain Lion. Why gives?
You are not the filesystem owner outside of your login directory. By assigning administrator privileges, you are now authorized to install software (with a challenge for your login password, not your Apple ID) where you otherwise would not be permitted.

HT204268; I have purchases on an aol login pre 2008 and all recent stuff under an apple id. I currently see and use everything when i login with the apple id. After March 31st will my apple id account still show and contain all?
I understand the instructions to create a new account id (apple id) from the old aol account. However, does this mean my purchases will be split into 2 accounts; or does the fact that I currently see everything under my apple id (regardless of the purchased by username) mean this will all still appear in my current account as it does now?You see them where when you login your non-AOL account ?
If you currently have two accounts (the AOL username account and an email address account) then you will continue to have two accounts, and nothing should change when you update the AOL account to be an email address (apart from how you access that account).
You will just be renaming the account to have an email address for accessing it, not creating a new account. -

SimonFirst question that I am not clear on your answer about: Is the Apple ID itself a valid email address, and the same one that you have as your Primary email address on your account? If the actual Apple ID is not an email address, then that is why you are not able to sign on to iCloud or to verify it....it must be an email address.
If it is an email address then:
Update your OS to the latest version - 10.8.5
Once you have updated, reboot the Mac and then go to Preferences>iCloud and try to sign on with your Apple ID again.
Check Manage your Apple ID to make sure that your Apple ID/Primary email address is verified.
If the problem persists, contact iCloud Support to see if they can provide you with an explanation of the meaning of the message. If the Apple ID has already been verified, then I'm not sure why you would be getting this messge:

Now I must CHANGE Ships TO adress, because I forgot apartment number in adress.

icloud wont let me login with my apple id. it says that my apple id is valid but not an icloud account
To use iCloud, you must first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion.
On an iOS 5 device go to Settings>iCloud and sign in using your Apple ID. -

By loggin in with my Apple-ID in iTunes it failes and says that i can't connect with iTunes. My internet works and my sis is able to login with here Apple-ID on the same pc...
I reinstalled iTunes, but this didn't help.

I hope you understand my bad english. I'm not from England and so on...Here is how I got around this iTunes bug...
What happens: You make a purchase in iTunes then listen to it, and go back to the store afterwards to make another purchase, iTunes will keep asking for your password, over and over and over and over, never stopping.
Workaround: You have to close out iTunes, open it back up, then make the purchase, it will work fine. -
I have a iphone 5 and I can login with my apple id to purchase music. However, when I try to login into icloud using the very same username and password that I use in the apple store it does not work to enter icloud, so what what gives???
I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.

When i try to login with my apple id i keep on getting error saying "We could not complete your itunes store request. An unknown error occured(-50)." I get this error everytime i try logging into my account. But still i can access to the iTunes store. I had recently downloaded this iTunes software into my new windows 8.1 laptop so i think it is up to date. I have earlier used this apple ID into another iTunes conneted to my older PC(I haven't logged out from it yet.Could that be the problem?).

I have an Apple ID which I had registered years back.I wanted to use the same Apple ID to download apps on my ipod touch - but whenever I try to login with that Apple ID, it tells me "This ID hasn't been used with Itunes", and proceeds to let me "Review" it. In the last step, I'm asked to furnish credit card information, which I don't want to, since all I want to do is to be able to download free apps !!
Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.

If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud on each device, yes. However, you can use the same Apple ID for iTunes content on each device, but different Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc., on each device. That way, you can have whatever iTunes content you want on each phone, but keep all of the other data separate. You can create another Apple ID here:
