Adobe 6 Standard with Reader 9

I upgraded to  Adobe 9 Pro.  The challenge- we have 4 computers and it will only install on 2.  On the 2 it won't install on, we re-installed Adobe Acrobat 6 and also have on those 2 systems Adobe Reader 9.  Challenge- when we try to view anything in a browser, we get the message "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.  Adobe Acrobat/Reader 8 or 9 is required.  Please exit and try again."
Does anyone know if Adobe 6 Standard can be used with Reader 9 and be able to have Reader 9 be used to view PD files in a web browser? Thanks, Jeff

Macs store applications all nice and tidy in their own folders (with the exception of a few small files). The applications do not share resources like they do on Windows. They are handled like two completely seperate applications (like they shoiuld be).
Windows shares these resources between "some" applications. Acrobat and Reader are two of them.

  • Camera profile say Adobe Standard with DMC-LX3 files

Am I doing something wrong here.
I import raw files from Panasonic DMC-LX3. It is stated as supported in Lightroom 2.3, but under Camera Calibration I only see Adobe Standard?
Does this have something to do with the exception in DNG file handling for the camera (see, http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html?camerarawnav )
    All the Best

It might but I don't think Camera Matching Profiles have been issued for other than Canon and Nikon at this point.

  • Adobe Reader does not recognize file name (filename10.5.11.pdf) but does in Adobe Standard 9.  Why?

I post documents to our Intranet site and found out recently that Adobe Reader does not recognize certain file names in PDF files.  For instance,  when trying to open a PDF file with the name
filename10.5.11.pdf  in Adobe Reader, the web browser will not open the PDF and the display is blank.   When I'm using another computer with Adobe Standard 9, I do not have a problem opening the file.
I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar issue and why Reader will not recognize the file name and Standard does.

The version is Adobe Reader 10.1.0    I will request the latest version
and let you know if that fixes the problem
Actually I had changed the name of the file so our associates could access
the file (changed the  .  to a hyphen)  It still made me wonder why Reader
wouldn't open it at that time.
Thanks again for you assistance and I will let you know if this resolves
    the  issue.

  • PDF file from Outlook folder created with Standard X not opened with Reader XI _ Flash issue ?

    Dear Community,
I tried to fix this issue but i have to admit i'm stuck right now :
Computer on windows 7 SP1 with Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Standard X installed.
On Outlook 2010, I convert a folder to a PDF file so i can navigate offline and share the mails with colleagues.
At the end of the conversion, Adobe Standard X opens and all the tree architecture of the PDf is available, browse in all files, open attached documents...
But as soon as, on my computer or on other computer only with Reader XI, the PDF file (whatever it's size and number of mails inside) is to be opened with Reader, there's a message saying that flash player compatible with Adobe Reader and Acrobat as to be installed.
There's no precision regarding the flash version to use, and clicking on the link to open web browser, no page is opened (no internet issue).
After 1 minute, Reader finnally opens but only displaying the first file of the PDF (in my case the first mail of the outlook folder).
i have the latest flash player version installed
Can anybody tell me if this problem is known ? or if someone knows how to fix it so the pdf file can be fully used in Reader ??
    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi Kiro ,
Did you try opening that file in any other browser ?If not ,please try doing that once and see if that  works for you.
Try Repairing Acrobat once and see if  that helps.

  • Why does Adobe Reader 9.5.0 open pdf created by Excel, but not with Reader X.

We have a number of pdf's that open 100% with Adobe Reader 9.5.0, but not with Reader X.
On Reader X, the message “A Number is out of range” is shown and the image is corrupted.
The image was created using “File SaveAs PDF” from Excel (Office 2007), with “Standard” optimization.
For interest, if the same “File SaveAs PDF”  from Excel (Office 2007) is used, but with “Minimum Size” optimization set, then the resulting pdf opens perfectly with both Reader 9 & X.
Distressing that a new version does not work where previous version did.

    HI
Sorry, my first time posting and I don’t seem to be able to attach the problem pdf to my posting.
Example of problem file attached. Opens in 9.5.0 but not X

  • Adobe Standard 8.1.1 with Multiple PDF's Open Reverts Focus

Currently running Adobe Standard 8.1.1 on a full patched WinXP SP2 computer. When opening multiple PDF's (the source of the documents do not seem to matter - ex. via Outlook attachment, on a local disk, on a network share, etc), the focus will automatically shift to the first opened document.
For example, I open Document1.pdf, and Adobe opens and displays everything properly. I switch back to Windows Explorer and open Document2.pdf, this document will show for a second or two, then Adobe will switch back to showing Document1.pdf in the foreground. Attempting to open Document3.pdf (while 1 & 2 are still open), Adobe will show Document3.pdf for a second, then it will throw Document1.pdf into the front focus.
This seems to happen regardless of the documents (have tried with several random PDF's, and they all generate the same behavior).
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have any suggestions to narrow down why this is occurring?
    Thanks.

I have not found a resolution. This still occurs for me, even after upgrading to 8.1.2 (also on several computers)
    Anyone else have any insight?

  • Acrobat Standard XI - How to edit pdf created and signed with Adobe Standard 6.0 on another computer?

    Hi
Is this even possible? I cant edit PDF-documents because I cannot remove the signature. Can I transfer digital signature from Adobe Standard 6.0?
    Please help me out
    //Anders

Acrobat versions prior to 9 had a bug which allowed you to do what you did. In Acrobat 9 this bug was fixed. In order to do what you want you need to certify (apply special certification digital signature with your certificate -- it is "Certify (Visible/Invisible)" choice in the "Work with Certificates") your document first. In the process of certification you can specify which modification permissions you allow the users of your document to make after signing. Certification signature must be the first signature in the document.

  • Can Adobe Standard PDFs be opened in Adobe Reader?

I need to create a PDF where I can lock some areas of it and leave other areas open for others in our company to complete. What is the most basic Adobe that I can do this with - is it Standard?
Also if I have Adobe Standard can people with Adobe Reader open it? Can they edit it? (I am thinking not).
I can probably get the Standard software approved for myself as one person but thinking it would be too expensive for everyone else to get it as well.
Help! Is there an easy way to get my result???

What you seem to be describing is a "fillable" PDF that people can type on and fill in Adobe Reader - but not necessarily save, be sure you understand this limitation!!
"if I have Adobe Standard can people with Adobe Reader open it?" I have absolutely no idea what you mean by this, sorry.

same thing if i run manually the cleaner tool and go through the dialog.
I don't know what else I can do, I've already spent a couple of hours with this issue.
Any help / suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

hi, thanks for your answer, actually this is what I have to do:
I have to uninstall cs4 english to install it back in french. If I try reinstall with the french licence over the existing install, it starts in trial mode and ask for the licence.
So if I follow your advice I should reinstall, uninstall, then reinstall ( and I have to do that on 30 computers, through SCCM, not manually)
As you see it become quite complicated.
    An other suggestions?
    thanks

assuming you mean acrobat pro and standard, that may work, but it may not.

  • Terrible magenta "splotchiness" in Leica M9 files with Adobe Standard profile?

Anyone seen issues with the Adobe Standard profile and bad magenta casts in shadows with the M9?  Here's a shot (low light) with the Adobe profile and with the "embedded" profile, you can see on the bridge of the nose and around the side of the nose it's pretty bad.  Is the Adobe Standard profile supposed to be usable in these situations?

I have just found this post while in search of a solution for a similar problem. I have the M9 also. At the base 160 ISO I have the same effect visible in very specific mid-shadowed skin-toned areas on four frames in a row but cannot detect it at all in surrounding areas nor another 60 or so frames in same location and lighting. Previously I had only noted this rarely in a couple of shadowed areas and it appears to be limited to very specific planes in one area of the shots. I have eliminated the possibilities of evironmental reflection or actual discoluration of the subject (fingers). WB has been set from a Colorchecker and Whibal card in a frame at same time and location.
May I please send an original DNG to you for comment?

  • Install Adobe Standard and Pro for deployment with app-v

I'm currently trying to install adobe 8.2.3 pro and Standard with App-v. The only media I have is 8.0 so I have downloaded all updates from 8.10 through 8.2.3. There are also issues with 32 vs 64-bit systems. The latter requires updating your version in general. Generally the initial releases have not worked in the 54-bit environment. There are many driver issues with 64-bit systems and probably should look carefully if 64-bits are needed. The 64-bit system is useful if you are computationally focused, but may not be much of an advantage in standard office environments. Just be careful. If you are installing OFFICE 2010, then you need AAX for PDF Maker compatibility -- prior versions of Acrobat only allow printing from the OFFICE 2010 suite. Some folks have been successful with AA8 on 32-bit Win7 (I have only seen 1 post that would suggest success with 64-bit Win7). Prior versions of Acrobat can be made to work on 32-bit Win7 systems, but require work arounds (i.e., the AcroTray tool that automates the conversion to PDF process fails in Win7). The 64-bit system will probably fail for most of the earlier versions in such cases.
Realize that you may have to deal with Win8 shortly that has it's own issues.
