Adobe acrobat 8 language issue

Hi there
by mistake i have installed the acrobat 8 in english to my user and she want to have it in french
i try to uninstall it and reboot but when i start the install again i got no choice of changing the language to french is there a way to change to french or did i do a mistake after uninstalling maybe a reg cleanup

Portege R600-11B - Cannot install Adobe Acrobat 9 - ActiveX issue

I have recently purchased a Portege R600-11B and have been trying to install Adobe Acrobat 9 on it by downloading from the Adobe site.
I have spent several unsuccessful hours talking to Adobe to try and resolve this issue.
They have concluded that my laptop is not compatible with the software.
This is not the case as this laptop exceed the systems specification required in all aspects.
The problem appears to be that it will not run ActiveX even after all firewalls and virus software in disabled - I don't really know what to do - does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thats simply nonsense
The Adobe Acrobat Reader is a small application and can be installed on nearly all computers and systems So thats definitely not a reason why you are not able to install this software.
If this issue is related to the ActiveX then you could change this in your internet browser settings.
For example using the IE7 you could change this here:
Tools->Internet Options->Zones->{zone}->ActiveX controls and plug-ins->Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt
You could also try to clean the OS and the registry because the issue could be related to the faulty registry entries.
For this I would recommend using the CCleaner free tool.
Last but not least its always advisable to check the support homepage of the software manufacturers. Here you can find some docs about installation issues with the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Adobe Acrobat 6-Compatibility Issues Message

Does anyone know why when I try opening Adobe Acrobat 6 that I get "This program has known compatibility issues" message? That is as far as I can get opening acrobat. When I press run program, the adobe reader opens instead. Thanks for your help.

I have no clue what you are talking about. What is your OS? If it is VISTA, that is the issue. AA6 and a Reader are not recommended to both be installed. To keep Reader from starting, be sure it is not the default for PDF files and also be sure that it is not running in the background (the norm for the program).

Adobe Acrobat X Scanning Issue?

I just purchased Adobe Acrobat X. I have Windows 7 64bit OS. I want to be able to scan directly into pdf as I did with my previous version of Acrobat. I click create pdf, then select scanner and drill down and select my scanner. Abobe Acrobat X crashes every time. My scanner works perfectly with 2 other scanner programs using the twain driver!
Any thoughts?

I have created an action which convert tmp files into pdf in adobe acrobat X pro .Now I want to run that .sequ (action) daily by creating a batch file.
Is there any way how i can use it through asp.net C# (any version).

is your harddrive 1tb or larger? if so, you'll need to partition that drive to use acrobat x on it.
otherwise:
uninstall acrobat X
run the cleaner, http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
restart your computer
if you're using windows, right click the installation file and click "run as administrator"

Adobe Acrobat 11 IE issue

We have a customer running windows 8 with internet explorer 10, whenever they try and open a pdf in internet explorer they receive the error 'adobe acrobat does not support internet explorer's 64bit mode, please update to the latest version of acrobat'. We have looked online and checked enhanced protected mode is disabled, We have updated to the latest version 11.0.0.9. Since then we have updated to windows 8.1 With IE11 and it is still happening. We are able to open PDF's in other browsers

As a web designer - IMHO, Internet Exploder is absolute garbage disguised as software. This (and thousands of other threads in this and many other forums throughout the web) is just more proof of that. I've used Firefox since 2002 when it was still called Mozilla. It does about a million things IE can't and won't, and does them better, faster, and more sensibly.
Microsoft KNOWS that most corporate workstations have Windows and most I/T departments forbid installation of unapporved software, including browsers, so (by a very slim margin) IE is still the most used browser in the world, but... that doesn't by any means make it the best choice. Because they know so many people are literally FORCED to use it at work, they will not make it more functional than they absolutely have to, because they don't care if people like it or not, when they have no other choice.
On a home computer, it's different, and that's why Firefox is just a fraction of a percentage point behind IE in worldwide use, and thanks to iPhones, Safari is rapidly climbing the numbers too.
Rather than trying to work around something that even Microsoft won't bother to fix, abandon their junk and go with Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari. It won't be long till you're glad you did.

Adobe Acrobat Automatic Update Issues

When I let Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard Automatic Updater install update 8.1.4, it crashes my operating system, Windows Vista Home Premium, and I have to recover it using latest known good configuration. What can I do to solve this problem? I am using 8.1.3.

Adobe Acrobat 8 Language problem with Cyrillic text

I scanned a Russian-language document--however, when I copy the text to a machine translation text box it fails to come up in Cyrillic (Russian). To rectify the situation, I went to Help and Uploaded the Language Update (the doc does not have an embedded font). THis did not help. Any ideas?

You need program for scanner to encode texts, not adobe

Adobe Acrobat XI ProTrial Issue

Installed the Trial, had issues getting it to open after install. I uninstalled all Adobe products, used the cleaner, then reinstalled the trial.
The trial now opens, however, once in the software, after about 10 seconds of being open, the trial software closes, and a pop up box comes up asking me if I want to use my trial or register the product. When I select use trial, the box closes but nothing else happens. This is repeatable every time I open the software. I just downloaded the trial today, and It does show that I have 30 days left. I am running the program in administrator mode.

sounds like your trial is restarting (or trying to restart). make sure your video drivers are up-to-date and try suspending your antivirus/antimalware.

When you click ‘select’ on the adobe pdf toolbar, a red dotted line is supposed to appear around parts of the web page as you move the cursor
In my case, that’s not happening
Similarly, when you click on a part of the page, the part is supposed to be highlighted in blue

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

Adobe Acrobat Standard/Pro freezing when opening large PDF documents

Ok, I have a tough one. Adobe Acrobat X Standard/Pro keeps freezing when opening large documents that exceed approx. 50 pages. These PDF documents contain large images and graphs for mining purposes, but no links. The issue impacts multiple users on multiple laptops/desktops. We have tried the following:
- Uninstalling/re-installing Adobe Acrobat
- Disabling Enhanced Security in Acrobat Preferences
- Resetting local user profiles
- Changing Reading Preferences to view current visible pages only
- Installing Adobe Acrobat XI
This issue has only occurred after upgrading users to a Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit Operating System.
The only possible solution I have managed to find is changing a registry key that permanently disables the Enhanced Security options in Acrobat. This solution however, only worked on brand new user profiles. Resetting user profiles throughout our entire company is not something we are even going to consider.
If anyone would like more information that I have missed, please feel free to ask.

Another possibility to check is the free space in the TEMP folder. I believe Acrobat uses the TEMP folder for temporary storage. You might even consider increasing the size of the TEMP folder. At least this is something else to check.
