Adobe Acrobat 8 will not convert a pdf to a jpeg

Adobe Acrobat 8 will not convert a pdf to a jpeg. It just gives an error message and shuts down every time I to save it as jpeg. Any advice why this conversion will not work?  I use a PC and run Windows 7.

The Acrobat 8 product family passed into End of Support years ago.
Acrobat 8 is not compatible with today's OSs.

after reloading adobe creative suite cs3 on my mac 10.4.11 acrobat will not open any pdfs it previously opened. help!

hello.   hey, thanks very much for writing back.  i got some good info with a search or two.  (info about what regedit is and what corresponds to it in OS X -- regedit allows you to edit "preference" keys for individual programs,  OSX's equivalent for these keys are the .plists in User & System: Preferences and Application Support)
what i ended up doing was uninstalling Premiere Pro (not the suite, just PPro).   Then i deleted a few preference files:
    from User /Preferences/Adobe:
    com.adobe.AdobePremierePro.plist
    com.Adobe.Premiere Pro.5.0.plist
    and from System Preferences:
the file:  Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs
    and..
    /.../Premiere Pro/5.0/...
AMEPrefs.xml     (i noticed that there's also a preference file in Media Encoder's own folder so i didn't sweat this one)
    Debug Database.txt
    Placeholder Preset.epr
    PostEncodeCmds.pref
    PresetCache.xml
    Trace Database.txt
    NOTE:
of course i don't know if deleting any files beyond the 2 .plist files in User Prefs was necessary, but...  it seems to have worked.
I then reinstalled Premiere Pro CS5, and fired up an old project and i've got playback of HD and DV files, and snappy editing and rendering,  so hopefully i'm good to go.   I'm just going to stick with v5.0.0 because i actually don't remember ever having any trouble with it, and i don't remember v5.0.4 adding anything i was 'missing' or 'needed'
hopefully, this thread will be useful for any future folks that run into trouble - and it's got a solution for both Windows and OS X
    happy editing,
    peace

  • What to do when file will not convert a PDF to Word "properly"?

Is there anything I can do when a file will not convert from PDF to Word (for editing purposes)?
It converted some of it fine, but most of it is converted into symbols and letters of some text has been changed.

    Hi Michelle ,
You can simply edit that file in Acrobat itself .
Or if you could brief us little more about your requirements ,we would be able to assist you intelligently .

  • Adobe Reader will not open embedded PDFs in Safari with Yosemite

Adobe Reader will not open embedded PDFs in Safari with Yosemite installed

That looks like a perfectly good PDF, but since it's trying to open in Microsoft Word, that means your file association for .pdf files is incorrect.  You should change it to point to Adobe Reader instead of Word.

  • Adobe Reader will not email my .pdf files.  Message: "Email has not been set up on this device."

Adobe Reader will not email my .pdf files.  Message: "Email has not been set up on this device."  I have 4 email accounts that have been set up.  When trying to email from Adobe, the email screen does come up, but does not allow me to enter any recipients in the field, and when I try, the email page's fields simply goes blank and disappears, taking me back to the document I am trying to send.  After trying repeatedly, I get the message about needing to set up my email.  My mother and I have also noticed that when  we try to open documents sent in A.R., they may open, or just go blank.  Any suggestions or fixes?

Setting up your email is a bit out of the scope of this forum. I'd suggest asking for help in the Apple forums devoted to the iPad. Good luck.

  • Adobe Reader Will Not Display Large PDFs

When using the Adobe Reader app on PlayBook it will not display some PDFs. It seems that it will not display PDFs that are too large.
Some files that might be too large do not display while smaller files do display in the app. The too large range could be in the 12 MB region where the good range could be 6 MB or less.
I tried to submit feedback to BlackBerry on this issue but it returned my email saying it could not process my request. I am hoping that they read it here.
Here is a link to a page with both readable and unreadable files:
    http://www.bossus.com/backstage/product_manuals/?group=2
A readable PDF is the owner's manual for the RV-3. A unreadable PDF is the owner's manual for the RC-3.

How do i restore Preview as my default viewer.
Seems adobe has hi-jacked Safari and and opens using abobe not preview.
Have uninstalled adobe but safari then will not display any pdf files.
Preview still works fine to view existing downloaded files.

    Niac --
What kind of files?  PDFs?  or Others as well?
If you want Preview to open all PDFs, then find a PDF on your HD.
Highlight it, and then press the Apple/Comand key along with th letter " i " key.
When the window comes up, look down to the "Open with" line, and change it from Adobe to Preview.
Then look slightly below, and select "Change All."
Now, all PDFs should open with Preview.

  • Terminal Server 2012 - Adobe Acrobat will not stay as the Default PDF Application

    Hello,
This worked flawlessly in the past and not sure what happened and now even thought the default app for handling pdf is Adobe Acrobat, when you double click on a document it opens on Adobe Reader. not all my users use Adobe Acrobat so i have to keep adobe reader on the server as well (for licensing ). simply right clicking on the file to "open with" is not an option, users need to be able to open the file from our accountancy software. I have already tried switching the default app and switching it back with no luck. any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Pretty sure that this was never tested but that being said... What was the order of installation?

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 not printing to PDF

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. It is no longer printing to PDF. It was working for about 4 months and suddenly stopped. I have tried all the updates that they recommend on the website but they are not working. Can anyone help?

    Good day astryian,
Acrobat 9's development was completed while IE8 was still in beta.  The PDFMaker Add-in from Acrobat 9 was never designed for use with IE9.  You may want to try printing to the Adobe PDF printer from IE9 instead.  If the results you receive contain either missing or garbled text, please refer to the following knowledgebase document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/896/cpsid_89623.html

  • Adobe Acrobat will not open

I installed CS6 a few weeks ago and it worked fine. All of a sudden I can't open the Adobe Acrobat program any longer. How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Since you have tried with crofix update but the file does not open.
You might need to try out solutions 2 or 3 for the same from the link mentioned below:
Doesn't launch after 30 days | Installed as part of a CS6 suite
Please let me know if that worked for you. If no, then do tell me if there is any specific error.

  • Will not convert a PDF file to Word

Since Wednesday, 12/10, I have not been able to convert a PDF file to Word.  We have a paid subscription to do that and it looks like our account is active and in good standing.  This is very frustrating.  Who do I contact for technical support.

Sorry, not sure what that means.  Do you mean to convert on the website?  If that is so, it won't convert there either - as I tried this morning.
If mean something else, please forward the website address.
    Thank you, Kathy

  • Adobe Acrobat will not install

When I try to install a Trial Version of Adobe Acrobat XI my Creative Cloud Account goes into a "Waiting" mode.

Sounds like a CC question to me. I am an Acrobat user and have no clue, but you might get a useful answer in the CC forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud.
