Adobe AIR download issue
Hello,
I'm trying to download the newest version of Adobe AIR and, upon launching the installer, I keep getting a pop-up message telling me that "this application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Please download the lastest version of the runtime from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair, or contact the application author for an updated version."
I've read through the online troubleshooting, and either I'm not tech saavy enough to figure it out or my issue wasn't listed.
Please help.
I'm on my MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.2

I know your case well. It comes with the Antec SL350, which has enough power for your system.
I would try different RAM just to see if you have a bad stick.

Adobe AIR installation issue - hangs at "Installing..."
Hello everyone!
I know questions similar to this have been asked many times before, but I did not manage to find the solution to my problem after a few hours of reading and trying the various 'solutions' around the net and this forum. I apologise if I missed it.
I cannot seem to install Adobe AIR. I run a freshly downloaded installation executable, but it hangs at "Installing..." and 0% progress for a very, very, very long time, if I let it. This last try has been going for 45 minutes as I write. The only way to get out of the installer is through Task Manager and killing the service, as hitting 'Cancel' just makes the installer attempt to cancel endlessly.
I tried installing it in safe mode but there it gives an error saying I may not have administrative permissions (which I do have);
I created a new user account;
I "run as Administrator" and am using an account with administrative rights;
I tried it through the command line with putting the file in c:\ and running "AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -silent" without quotes from c:\;
I have shut off all my antivirus software;
I tried downloading it with a different browser;
I tried using the MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall, and took Adobe AIR off the list;
I tried uninstalling all Adobe products and then reinstalling them, with Adobe AIR last
... and some more things, but none of this has helped. Here's what the installation log generates when it hangs:

So before we continue, we really need to figure out what the exact error is. Can you, on at least 2 systems, generate the MSI logs we'll need? Here's a document that explains how to enable logging and where to find the logs once they've been created:

Once you've enabled logging, try installing again. Grab the newly created msi logs and either post here or email me at [email protected] I'll examine the logs and see if we can find a common issue between the systems.

Another Adobe Air installation issue

Microsoft has just released a new utility that can help resolve installation problems. Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you? When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system. Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.

EDIT: I have figured out a workaround to this. I created a 2nd administrator account, and installed air from there, and it went away without a single issue.
Trying to install adobe air, and it continues to fail everytime. Here are the logs I've been able to gather.
Running Win 7 x64, intel quad core, 6gb ram have no previous installations of AIR. I've also tried installing it in a few different compatibitability modes and get roughly the same errors.

When I attempt to download Adobe Air, it states "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." I am the administator for my home PC... I have successfully downloaded Adobe Flash Player, but this wont even try to be downloaded.

I logged in under my wifes account and was able to download it... sort of. It downloaded; however, I am getting a generic error meesage afterwards saying contact the administrator (Me). I went to uninstall, to re-install and see if that helped (I have Windows 7 SP 1). When it showed Adobe Air, there was no file size attached to it, like all the other programs listed and it said I was unable to uninstall. That said when I did a search of my hard drive, that showed that the full data had downloaded.
Also, I went through the Adobe Aor troubleshoot guide, which while informative, didn't cover my situation.
Is there a specific program or type of program that could cause a conflict OR could I have inadvertantly turned off or removed a program or windows function, that is assumed to be working normally, which could have casued this as well? -
Since we have developed our own application distribution channels for our Android tablets which our target audience are kids aged 2-13 years old, we have enabled parental control and do not install Google Play in our tablets. However, some apps didnt work on our tablets because they needed parents to download "Adobe Air". May I know if there is anyway, I can get the Adobe Air SDK and distributed it on our own Android app market?

VishalOk, I understand. So before we continue, we really need to figure out what the exact error is. Can you, on at least 2 systems, generate the MSI logs we'll need? Here's a document that explains how to enable logging and where to find the logs once they've been created:

Once you've enabled logging, try installing again. Grab the newly created msi logs and either post here or email me at [email protected] I'll examine the logs and see if we can find a common issue between the systems.

I have a subscription to Adobe Story Plus. I have been attempting to download the desktop version for over a week with no luck. I've read every forum I can find and attempted every suggested solution with no luck.
Things I have done:
- downloaded adobe air directly from website.
- refreshed adobe story after air download and retried story download.
- restarted computer
- attempted download on multiple internet browsers.
***One thing that I have noticed is that I cannot actually find the adobe air application on my pc. The installer is present and every time I try to open it I am told that air is already installed and updated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm no computer expert, but I am capable enough to usually troubleshoot my own problems. This one has gotten away from me though and I'm out of ideas.

- Double click on the downloaded file and install it.
- After installation, download the Adobe Story installer directory from https://story.adobe.com/AIR/AdobeStory.air

Please consider an upgrade to the last version of Air (1.5.1).

It appears that your log looks ok. Could you try uninstalling your application, verifying that the folder was removed from Program Files, then reinstalling?

Hello everyone,
I've got a problem with Adobe Air program. Once I've installed any older version or latest version, I try to run a developed program which runs specifically with Adobe Air, but then it doesn't work.
I have uninstalled very many times both programs and tried with other versions but after I install Adobe Air again, when the other program is run, the Adobe contract license comes up. So I accept it and that's all, the program does not display.
My OS is Windows Vista. The point is that I followed the same steps in my brother's PC, who has Windows Vista as well, and both programs are executed properly when I install them.
Please I will appreciate any suggestions or comments you may have. Thanks a lot.

The Creative Cloud preferences also has a language option @ Apps tab ( with adobe icon ).
This is not the one to change is it? I've set that to English already with no effect of further installs. (Btw, im on Windows 7) -
