You are definitely in the wrong forum for Bridge CS6 and Adobe Camera Raw. You have posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing focus).
You probably want to be posting in the Photoshop Forum.
http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop
My preliminary findings suggest possible workaround
a. Open camera raw in Photoshop 5 or 5.5 and then open edited raw image in Bridge CS6
or
b. There is a preferences route to check out.
Not being a Photoshop user, this is a quick suggestion where you might start looking. This is apparently a known issue.
The Photoshop users should be able to give you all the details and options you have for workarounds for now.

When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw which shipped with Photoshop - in other words you reverted to an older version of Camera Raw which does not support the D5100.

  • No matter what I try, Camera Raw will not update from 8.3 to 8.4.1 in PS CC

I've tried completely uninstalling Bridge and Photoshop CC and reinstalling and I'm still on Camera Raw 8.3.
    It just will not update.
I also tried the link to manually install and it just says the patch is not applicable.
Any ideas why even after completely removing and reinstalling both Bridge and Photoshop my Camera Raw will not update?
    Thanks

When I replied to your post, I was replying to an original post that came in via my e-mail today at 2:30 and was the most recent thing in the ACR forum and had remained unanswered for 1.5 hours, so I decided to reply.  Had your post been put in a forum I subscribed to and happen to notice days ago, then I might have seen it, then, but didn't see it until this afternoon, and the e-mail version of your post only had the scant initial information, not the subsequent question and answer about your OS that you'd replied to on the other forum.  So as you say, I had not read the thread, because it was on a forum I didn't subscribe to.  So be shocked and perhaps awed as is necessary.  My treat.
Second, I did make a typo when I said Win8/8/8.1 and it should have been Win7/8/8.1, which might have been deduced by the repeated 8, so you could have asked for clarification.
Seeing as you're on Windows 7 which ACR 8.4 should be compatible with, one minor detail is that I see in the compatible Lightroom 5.4 requirements that it needs Windows 7 Service Pack 1, which would mean you'd want to be caught up on your Windows Updates, which I would assume you'd be.
There are direct links to ACR 8.4(.1) on Jeff Tranberry's blog that are distinct for PS-CS6 and PS-CC so maybe that is what isn't right?
    Keeping Photoshop Up-To-Date
You might check what version of PS-CC you have.  14.2.1 is the most current, and maybe that is prerequisite to ACR 8.4.1, I don't know.
If worse comes to worse, uninstall everything Adobe, then run the CS Cleaner then re-install CC Desktop and see what happens as you install PS-CC and it's updates.  It may need to be run several times.
Once you're ready to retry your installs, you also might try to Quit CC Desktop and run it As Administrator in case there is a permissions issue.
The CS Cleaner can be found, here:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

New Nikon Df camera RAW files not recognized in Bridge and Photoshop.  Is there a fix?  Surely Adobe make a mistake and not keep up with Nikon.

I looked at the current list http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html and did not see the Nikon DF listed.

I have to force quit the software and try again. I have deleted and downloaded the software several times to no avail. I need some help.

Appreciate your help Ian and others.   I have since uninstalled FCS and reinstalled FCXP only to get the same thing. Loading FCXP stalls at "Looking for Compressor Support".  When I first downloaded FCXP from the App store I didn't notice that FCS was being placed in it's own folder.  It's not something I did manually.  Although moved into it's own folder with FCXP on the same drive.  I was not able to open FCS apps. They would load and then "quit unexpectantly".  They opened just fine before I downloaded FCXP.  Do I need to purchase Compressor so that FCXP recognizes it? It seems this is where it stalls. It doesn't explain however why my computer "FREEZES" while doing this.  I am in the process of re-installing Lion to see if this helps, otherwise I am at a complete loss.

  • Adobe Camera Raw changes not reflecting in Premiere Pro

I was super excited to try out the new CNDG support in Premiere Pro CC 2014, but I have to be honest - I am a bit disappointed...
I am using 16bit Cinema DNG files and the source settings sliders really aren't doing it for me (notice the pink highlights)
That's alright though, I would much rather use Adobe Camera Raw!
    Right click > Edit Original
There we go, that looks nice - no pink highlights, nicely recovered details in the shadows and highlights.
    PERFECT, click DONE!
Nothing...For whatever reason, changes are not reflecting.
Adobe - please allow us to use Adobe Camera Raw, there are so many folks out there that want to incorporate it into their workflow.  I have tried SpeedGrade and various other color correcting tools and I have found Adobe Camera Raw to work the best IMHO
    Thank you for your time.

Hello! I too am having this same problem. I used Camera Raw (both in Bridge and Photoshop to make sure) to adjust and correct the Cinema DNG files I shot with my BMPCC; however, the video sequence in Premiere does not reflect any of the changes made. Why would Adobe not support Camera Raw settings in Premiere?
Sorry, but Premiere Pro does not have a camera raw importer. You adjust the settings in the Source Settings dialog box instead (for RED, ARRI Raw, BMCC and BM Pocket Camera DNG files). You do have access to some controls for these formats, but in some cases, Camera Raw has more controls.

Camera Raw is an amazing tool for refining an image and gives me the best results compared to SG and Davinci. I was so excited to be able to use it once Premiere supported CinemaDNGs but now I'm confused as to why it's not supported.
Cinema DNG from the Blackmagic Cameras are supported, you just adjust settings in Source Settings, as I mentioned. Have you tried that? The reasoning behind this is that Cinema DNG video coming from camera raw is too difficult to playback and edit with.
That said, some users bring Cinema DNG footage to After Effects, adjust the video there, then render out files that are suitable to edit with.

I thought the point of using Adobe was that all their products worked together seamlessly? I really hope they fix this.
You can always make a request here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request, however, I don't see a camera raw importer going into Premiere Pro any time soon (if ever) because of the reasons I previously mentioned (editing with camera raw would be too cumbersome). I think the more realistic feature request would be to add more controls in Source Settings.

  • Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) Stops Responding

I am currently using Photoshop CS5 with Camera Raw 6, installed on a Window 7 x64 machine with 8 GB of RAM.
I have no problem opening my raw files, but ACR repeatedly stops responding after a few minutes as I am selecting and making adjustments to raw images. Sometimes this will happen very quickly, but is usually after ten minutes or more of editing. Selecting an image whilst the yellow warning triangle is still showing in the main image seems to be a major factor, but I don't want to spend all day waiting!
Once ACR has stopped responding, the only option is to close Photoshop via Task Manager, but I then loose everything (including deletions) that I have been working on for the past x minutes. It doesn't seem to matter whether the raw files are located on a local or network drive, but the problem seems to be more frequent across the network.
The only solution seems to be to click 'Done' every five minutes, and to re-load the images, but this is a chore when I have 100 or more images to sort through. I have created a 10 GB scratch file for Photoshop, so it should have plenty of space.
Is this a known issue, and has it been resolved in CS5.5? I did not have this problem in CS, CS2, CS3, or CS4.
I have tried to download the CS5.5 update, but Photoshop reports that everything is up to date.
Any advice on this problem would be very welcome.
    NN

Does CS 5.5 do anything that CS 5.0 doesn't do
Nothing, apart from supporting some enhanced functionality added to other CS products that allows developers to make better use of touch interfaces and so on (or something along those lines). I checked this with Adobe when it came out, and they informed me that I would gain zero from moving from CS5 to CS5.5: they are essentially exactly the same thing, just a bit of re-branding to keep up with the other Suite products. I think Adobe confused a lot of users with this move.
I see there is a promotion running at the moment whereby CS 5.5 purchasers can upgrade to CS 6.0 free of charge when it becomes available.
That promotion's for new users who might drop some cash on PS during the grace period where we're 'inbetween' versions (e.g. you'd be annoyed if you spent £650 on Photoshop CS5.5 and then two weeks later they released CS6 and you had to spend a further £190 to upgrade).
If you want to upgrade from CS5 to CS6, then you get no benefit from upgrading to CS5.5. first: it would cost you exactly the same, and would simply add an extra uncessary step to the process. Nor would it help you overcome the issue you've reported with ACR.
Hope this helps, and if I'm wrong on any points then I'm sure someone will correct me!

  • Camera RAW changes not staying in Bridge/Photoshop

    Hi all,
I've started having trouble with changes in Camera RAW not sticking once they're closed. I've got the XMP files, and Bridge shows the little icon to show it's been changed, but the changes aren't staying. I've tried clearing the cache, restarting the program and rebooting to no avail. To answer the preferred questions:
    Photoshop CC, 14.2.1 64x
    Totally updated
    Windows 8.1 Pro
    Nikon d800 RAW (NEF) files
    No error messages
Making adjustments in Camera RAW (Photoshop) and then clicking 'done' when complete. This has always in the past saved the changes made until I make more, reset them, or delete the XMP file.
    Always worked previously
Chrome, anti-virus. Never been an issue previously. Bridge usually runs at the same time.
Using a Microsoft Surface Pro, 4GB RAM, over 50GB free on the drive. No changes made to the system, since I let it run as-is. No updates to hardware, no brushes, no plugins.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply, Trevor! I've been on this internets for a long while now, and the first thing i notice in forums are that people never seem to follow the posting guidelines and never seem to provide info that's needed to help them (see: many photog forums where people ask for lens/camera recs and never tell us budget, needs, current equipment, or what they actually WANT to photograph!), so I find it's expedient to actually provide necessary information! Gettng gold stars for well-thought out, thorough explanations: what a novel concept!
Incidentally, I think I just worked it out. I added my external drive to my desktop PC to see if there was a difference, then noticed the same issue occurring. I had a sudden thought that the preview thumbnail wasn't showing up, and realised that the option to choose preview settings ('generate 100% previews' or 'prefer embedded') will make the edits disappear if you also have the cache purged.
    Cheers anyway!

  • Nikon camera RAW will not open in PS CS3 on Win 8

I have photoshop CS3 extended ver 10 and Elements 6.  I installed both on a new PC with windows 8.  PS will not open my RAW files taken with my Nikon D40X although Elements will.  PS opens tiff and jpeg.  I went to Adobe updates and tried to install ACR 4.6 (Camera raw 8bi.)  The Error message for bothe the opening RAW files and installing the update is, "Could not complete your request because it is not the right type of document." I uninstalled PS and Elements and reinstalled just PS.  Same problems. I transfer the RAW files from my camera to computer by copying them through a card reader.
    Thanks for any help.

PS and PSE each have a different place to put the  .8bi file, so manually do the updated according to the instructions for each product on this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4040
Re-installing PS or PSE will revert the ACR plug-in for that software back to the oldest version that originally came with that version of software so you’ll need to update using the contents of the ZIP file, again.
You can do a Help / About Plug-in… / Camera Raw… in PSE and PS to see what version you have installed in each.  Plug-ins are scanned at startup, so you’ll want to restart each product after doing the manual install.

  • Camera Raw will not update to latest version

Help, Can someone please help me.  Have been trying for about 4 hours to update my version of Photoshop CS6 and keep getting response that
"The update server is not responding. The server might be offline
temporarily, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."
I have tried shutting off my Norton firewall temporarily and then tried to run the updates, no luck.  Tried downloading the updates from the Adobe website,
then rebooted and it's still the same old version.  Need to update my Camera Raw as well and again, can't get any updates to work.  Can someone please help?
Very frustrated that there is no number to call for assistance.

Found the problem.  After a couple of very frustrating hours, and trying everything I could possibly think of with firewall and internet settings, I decided to just just try plugging in to my modem directly instead of working over WiFi.  Adobe Updates from within the program ran perfectly, first time. The issue, as bizarre and crazy as it seems, is that you can't run updates when you're working on WiFi.  To prove it, after my updates were downloaded and installed, I tried to run the updater again and received the same error message.  So my problem is solved.  No WiFi when trying to run updates!!!

  • Camera Raw will not open my Canon 7D MarkII raw files

Hello! I recently got a Canon 7D Mark II for Christmas and took my first photo today. When I try to open my RAW file in photoshop it says it cannot open that file type, check to make sure  your updates are current. I did this and it says they are for both Bridge and Photoshop. I checked to make sure my camera is on the list for compatibility and it is. Do not know what else to do. I have a PC and Adobe Photoshop CS6. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
