Adobe Captivate 6 course not returning to start

Hello people,
I need your help in discovering something. When I post my course to our LMS and go in and take the course I can complete it. But when I go back into the course it comes right back to the page that I left it. If it's at the quiz end; it pops back up at the quiz end.
I cann't get it to refresh each time and I need to know if this is an issue in Captivate I can turn on or if it's something in our LMS.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Officially it should do the same job by re-setting when the user has completed successfully. Never send resume data, is used to trap when a user has left before completion. But you have to remember, not all LMS's interpret all SCORM variables the same way. We have seen problems so set both switches.

  • Adobe Captivate Help | Slide notes

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/slide-notes.html

    Hi there,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums!
1.You can download Neo Speech voices from here:
    Windows 32-bit: http://www.adobe.com/go/captivate6_voices_installer
    Windows 64-bit: http://www.adobe.com/go/captivate_voices_installer_win64
    2. After the Downloading is completed, you have to extract that .zip file to the same location. That will have one payloads folder and AdobePatchinstaller.exe, Double click on AdobePatchinstaller.exe to start the installation.
    3. While installing it will start the Adobe Application Manager to Update Captivate.
    Please reply if that helps.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 - Flash Not Installed Error

We are using Adobe Captivate 4 on Windows 7.  Since the Microsoft Windows Updates around January 8, we are unable to open Adobe Captivate 4.  We get the message that the Flash Player is to be installed and the application shuts down after the message that an Internet connection is required.  I have followed the steps on the Adobe Help page:  Error: "Adobe Flash Player is not currently installed" when you start Adobe Captivate with no success.  I have even uninstalled Adobe Captivate 4, reinstalled it and followed the instructions on the aforementioned Help page.  No luck.  I am running Firefox and Internet Explorer and IE is the default browser.  Adobe Captivate 4 acts as though it cannot connect to the Adobe Flash website, but I already have the most current Flash Player installed.  We use Adobe Captivate 4 primarily for Quizzes since we can effectively e-mail the results to trainers. We do have Adobe Captivate 7 and the Quiz Results e-mail feature does not send the results; only a blank e-mail shell.  Is there any solution to this Captivate 4 problem?

Unfortunately, that is not an option.   I work for a state government and the computers are locked down for security reasons.  Updates are handled by an IT group and pushed out to all state computers.  We were running Flash Player 10 and everything worked fine until the Flash Player Update was pushed out as a Microsoft Update on January 8th.  There have been subsequent "Security Updates" to the Flash Player pushed out via Microsoft and none have corrected the problem.  Even if I could uninstall the current Flash Player and install an older version, it would just be updated to the current Flash Player tonight.

  • Adobe Captivate 5.5 not updating scores ...

I published a SCORM 1.2 course using adobe captivate 5.5 and uploaded the course to LMS but its not updating the progress(Score) of the Course to LMS. Can you please explain how can i get the progress of the course while Im unloading the page..
    Thanks in advance,
    Rahul_R.

I don't have a quiz in my course, but I was able to get mine working by setting the last "next" button on the slide before the last as a quizable object set to give 1 point in the properties panel for that button. Then, in the publishing preferences, I use:
This works for me, but some LMS's are more picky. I had to play around with the settings in these panels until I got it to work with my LMS.
    Hope that helps!

  • Are Adobe Captivate swf files not compatible with IE8 or IE9 when inserted into RoboHelp projects?

    Hi,
I've published Adobe Captivate swf files and then inserted them into my RoboHelp project. I then synced my RoboHelp project with our website and the videos within online help are not functioning in IE8 or IE9. They are only working in IE11.
    Thanks,
    Jaimie

    Hi there
When a SWF plays in IE, it uses the Flash Player ActiveX control. I'm not 100% sure that different versions of IE would share the install. So if you have one version of IE on your machine, perhaps it either doesn't even have the control added in or it's the wrong version.
One thing I would check in the browsers where the content seems to be missing is to right-click the blank area and see if you coax a Flash pop similar to below:
    Then note the version number.
You may find that all that you (or others) need to do is ensure you have at least a specific version of the player/add-in installed.

  • Adobe Captivate 3 does not load

After installing Captivate 3 and using it successfully for a
week. All of a sudden the program will not open. It gets stuck at
the "Copying First Run Files" then the splash screen disappears.
How can I solve this? I am completely lost and out of ideas.
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

    Welcome to our community, Eric
You might need to reset the Captivate Settings file. (I call
this "Whacking Captivate upside the head").
    To reset the settings file:
    Ensure Captivate is closed.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following location:
    ?:\Documents and Settings\????\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe
    Captivate
Note that ? represents the drive letter you are using and
???? represents your logged in user name.
Rename or delete the file named
    captivate_v30.dat
Restart Captivate and hopefully things will be improved.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Adobe Reader 11 will not return to last page read, but version 10 did

    Hi,
I have just installed Adobe Reader version 11. When I start reading a pdf, it will not begin on the page where I last left off.
I had version 10 and it would begin on the page where I last left off (in the previous session).
Is there a way to get version 11 to do what my version 10 would do?
For example, if I studied from my Excel book and left off at page 70, closed Adobe Reader, then resumed later, Adobe Reader would automatically start at page 70 (for that Excel book that I am studying from).
However, now with Adobe Reader version 11, it will only start at the front of the pdf book.
Is there a way to get version 11 to remember the page that it is at when I close the pdf book?
    Thank you very much

  • Adobe Captivate Help | Learner Notes interaction

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/learner-notes-interaction.html

Is there any way to swap out the 'Widget Note' icon? It bad artwork.
I have a cool custom button that I wanted to bring up the Note widget. Also, if I put the Note Widget on top of my custom button, it blocks the button's glow for the mouse over state.
    Any ideas?

  • Adobe Captivate 8 will not open (subscription)

i purchased the subscription for Adobe Captivate. I installed the 32-bit and 64-bit versions and neither works. I'm just getting the start screen and Loading message but nothing happens. I've tried an uninstall and redownloaded the software still nothing happens.

    Hi There,
It seems to be the fonts issue in your system. Try the below steps and see if it works for you:
    1. Close Captivate.
    2. Go to : C:\Windows\Fonts
    3. Copt the whole Fonts folder and paste it on your desktop (this is for backup of your fonts folder).
    4. Once you have take the backup of your Fonts folder then go back to C:\Windows\Fonts.
    5. Delete all the fonts you can.
    6. Once you have deleted the fonts then try to launch Captivate 8.
    7. If it launched correctly then try to copy back the fonts (say 50 fonts at a time) from the backup folder on your desktop and try to launch Captivate and see which fonts are causing the issue.
Let me know if it works for you.

  • Captivate Resume Course - not at last slide

    Hi
When a user exits our course in captivate and then resumes at a later time it asks if they want to continue where the left off however it always begins again at the start of the chapter in which they were in.  For example, if they were on slide 5 of chapter 4 it would start them again at slide 1 of chapter 4.
Is this a setting that I need to change?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums,
Captivate should do this by default, unless you check the 'Never Send Resume Data' option chceked in the Quiz preferences section.
However, if it does not, that is likely because your LMS is expecting the lesson to set the cmi.exit value to 'suspend'. Such a setting tells the LMS to send the last-session's data back to the CP lesson the next time it's launched so it can resume.
You can also Go to Project > Skin Editor and tick the box there for Self-Paced Learning.
That will enable local bookmarking that should work if the user is just playing the course modules from a local drive.  However, be aware that this setting may conflict with the Resume Data bookmarking that is sometimes activated (by leaving the Never Send Resume Data checkbox unticked) so as to use bookmarking with SCORM-compliant courses served from an LMS.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Answers not appearing on quiz slide

I have quiz slides in my project with single answer multiple choice questions.
Sometimes on my slides as they are playing the letters for the choices appear but the answers do not.
I hit the right button on my mouse and refresh the page and they appear.
Please let me know if there is something I can do to assure the answers appear all the time.
    Thank you,
    David Gambal

As far as I am aware, deleting or replacing the Question Title or Question Text captions in quiz questions in any version of Captivate will cause issues.  So don't do it.
You do not need to always choose Optional as your Preferences > Quiz Settings > Required setting.  But if you choose one of the other more restrictive options this drop down offers (Required, Pass Required, Answer All) then you may run into strange issues where your quiz seems to stall for no apparent reason, especially in situations where you try to Retake Quiz or move back and forth from quiz questions to content slides.  I recommend you start with Optional, and then once you have everything working perfectly, try the other settings if you really feel the need.  Personally, I never seem to use them.

  • GetHeaderFields Not Returning Cookies Starting with _

    Hi,
I have been trying to write a program that can interact with various web pages, and have up till now been using Apache's HttpClient. After encountering some random problems, I realized that the HttpClient wasn't registering cookies starting with an underscore. I have started to write my own "HttpClient", but I can't seem to get the information of any cookies that start with an underscore.
I am currently using getHeaderFields().toString() and a regex (and I know my regex isn't the problem, it has been tested) to separate the cookies from the rest of the headers.
    Any ideas?
On second thought, after checking out the data being sent to java with Ethereal, I think firefox may be making cookies up, or is getting different info from the server. Still, any ideas?

Since JNI works in 1.6 and your code (not JNI) doesn't then the immediate conclusion would be that you have a problem somewhere in your code (nothing to do with JNI.)
The fact that C/C++ code runs one place really means nothing if it fails to run in another except that the first place never experienced the bug which the second place demonstrates that it does exist.

  • Adobe Captivate 7 Trial Not Working

    Hi,
Tried to install the trial of Captivate 7. Crashes the installer application. Tried with both the standard and 64-bit versions. Gives me the following error:
Exception EOIeSysError in module Captivate_7_LS21.exe at 0078181. The system cannot find the file specified.
Both installer files are in the same directory.
    Please help.

    Hi there,
Can you try to run the .exe file as administrator (Right click on .exe file and run as admin).
If that does not fix this, then try downloading the installation set up once again and install it from a different user account.
    Thanks.
