Adobe CC Premiere Pro Exporting Excruciatingly Slow... Please Help?

Hi guys, school project due in a few hours, and I've been fighting with premiere pro for close to 15 hours on a 15 minute video. It's pretty basic, a little bit of footage and a few pictures in 1920x1080, but for the life of me this thing will not export. It starts off very quick but slows to a crawl and then curls up and stops. My system doesn't pull any punches: i7 3770k, 16 gb 1600 mhz ram, 2x 780 ti. Any suggestions??? I'm dying here.

Thank you for the help!

Please post a screen shot of the export setting panel, that is often very helpful with export issues

  • Premiere Pro - Insufficient Media Error - Please help!

    Hi, everyone!
I'm working in Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3), taking 3 thirty second video clips, and putting them together, along with an audio track, to make a 1:30 video background with music.
I'm trying to apply a short cross dissolve to each of the video clips. When I do, I get an error message that there is insufficient media and some frames will be repeated.
This is a mystery to me, because each of the thirty second clips is clearly longer than the cross dissolve transition.
The transitions seem to play fine in Premiere, but do not appear to show up in any render so far (I've tried .avi, .mov, and .wmv)
Any idea why I might be getting this error, and how I can correct the problem?

Telling him to go study video editing is not helpful at all.
That depends.  If he does actually go off and study video and can then perform the task better, then it really was helpful.
I've used a number of other pro video editing programs and I've never had to do this in order to make a cross dissolve work
Yes, you have.  Any proper transition needs handles.  This is a universal concept, and applies to all editors, all media, and all software programs.  Some programs, Premiere included, may try and 'cheat' the transition by repeating frames or with some other method, but that is not then a proper transition.
Heck even older versions of Premiere didn't require this step.
Yes, they have.  All NLEs always have, and always will.
telling someone to go read the manual or go learn video editing is not what these forums are for
I would argue that Premiere Pro, and hence these forums, are for those who have already learned video editing.
First lean, then do.  This applies to any activity.  Those who try and skip step one and show up here looking for help do often meet with some backlash.

I brought cs4 education suite, and recieved a serial code but the problem is my computer is really old and I can't buy a new one yet and it can't hold all the programs on the disc. - you need AT LEAST 2 drives for video editing, 3 is better
    - some HD formats work better with (require) RAID
Also... you need about 50-to-60 Gig free on your boot drive for temp files

  • Why is PP CS 3 worse than Premiere Pro 1.0?  Please help

I have just bought the CS3 Master Collection. With PP 1.0 I could add a transition beetween two clips, apply the proc amp filter for color correction and even add a title with motion. In highest quality RT mode it would look very good on the NTSC monitor. It actually looked as good as it would fully rendered. Now if I apply any color correction filter I get pixilated artifacts when there is movement (a person waving there hands). Even if I add a simple title the video below the title looks awful. RT previews used to look very clean in the NTSC monitor. Could the CS3 bundles have a serious bug in them? I have thought of everything and can not get PP CS3 to work half as good as version 1.0. What gives? Any info would help.

I agree that the The Pentium D was the actual name but Pentium D CPUs are based of the P 4 netburst achitecture. That was stated even by Intel and many magazines. In other words they are not P2, P3 or even a Core 2 architecture. So yes I can call a Pentium D a Dual Core Pentium 4. That is infact what it is. I can not call it Dual Core Pentium 3. There is no dual core P3.
    [edit] Presler
The last generation of Pentium D branded processors was the Presler identified by the product code 80553, and made of two 65 nm-process cores found also in Pentium 4 branded Cedar Mill CPUs. The Presler single package also comprised two single-core dies next to each other increasing its processing capability over single-core CPUs branded Pentium 4. The Presler was supported by the same chipsets as the Smithfield. It was produced using 65 nm technology similar to the Yonah. The Presler communicated with the system using an 800 MT/s FSB, and its two cores communicated also using the FSB, just as in the Smithfield. The Presler also included VT (Virtualization Technology, aka Vanderpool, although limited to the 9x0 models, and not in the 9x5 models), Intel 64, XD bit and EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology)[*]. The Presler was released in the first quarter of 2006 with a 2x2 MiB Level 2 cache. Its models included

  • Adobe Premiere Pro becoming Extremely Slow

I was just editing a vacation video and all of a sudden premiere pro became so slow that it would not even play the video back - I restarted it and my computer multiple times - I ran virus checks and cleanups over and over again and nothing worked. I am completely stumped.....
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated - THANKS!

    Ok:
    Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.22
I am currently installing the latest update
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    Stuff in the Project:
MPEG-4 format with AVC video codec and AAC LC audio codec
MPEG-PS format with MPEG-2 Video video codec and MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 audio codec
MPEG-4 format with AVC video codec and AAC LC audio codec
MPEG Audio format with MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 audio codec
A Title made in Premiere Pro
    No error messages
I was trying to playback the video when the problem occurred
    This has never happened before
I am also running After Effects and Photoshop
I have no third-party effects or codecs installed
    Computer Hardware:
      Intel i7 4770 CPU @ 3.4GHZ overclock to 4.0GHZ
      16 GB RAM
      AMD RADEON 7870
I am not using Mercury GPU Acceleration
This problem only effects the preview window
I will try to playback the video in the preview window and it will either go black or will lag a lot - then I will try to exit and shutdown adobe and it will stop responding - so I have to do a force close
This does not happen with any of my other projects - only this new one
I simply don't understand why this is happening - I deleted everything and got it down to only the GoPro videos and the music and it still does it - but I have done MANY videos with GoPro footage since that is my main camera and this does not happen - I can paste the entire project in another finished video and it works fine - but if I try to create a new project with Mercury GPU acceleration OFF and paste it in there it still freaks out
I have tried to export the section that is different from what I normally edit(the after effects animation) but nothing from the project will export or render - if I try Premiere Pro fails and has to be shutdown - I tried converting the animation to MP4 - which is what I normally edit and the project still freaks out
Here is a link to a video of the problem
    THANKS!

importing and exporting from cc premiere pro is very slow, the system has i7 processor and memory is 64 gb and has internal raid storage. what could be the issue.

If you would like to test the tuning and setup of your Premiere installation go to our Premiere Pro BenchMark PPBM, the Instructions page has the download file.  This single download can test Premiere 6, 7 or 8 with the identical benchmark.  We maybe able to tell you why you are having problems.

I downloaded Premiere Pro CC last night and imported a few hours worth of footage but it is running very slowly. The video can't seem to catch up with the audio and images freeze so frequently I cannot view sequences.

    Hi rebeccajaynemartin,
Please provide more details such as:
    Source of the media?
    Format?
Is it located on an external drive?
What is the video renderer used? (You can check that in File -> Project Settings -> General -> Video Renderer and Playback)
Also, your computer is not powerful enough to run Premiere with optimum performance. Please check this link:

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 slows when dealing with larger video files

I'm having issues with Premiere Pro 2.0 slowing to a crawl and taking 60-90 seconds to come back to life when dealing with larger .avi's (8+ mins). When I try to play a clip on the timeline, drag the slider over said clip, or play from a title into said clip on the timeline, Premiere hangs. The clips on question are all rendered, and the peak file has been generated for each different clip has well. This is a new problem; the last time I was working with a larger clip (45+ mins, captured from a Hi-8 cam), I had no problems. Now, I experience this slow down with all longer clips, although I've only dealt with footage captured from a Hi-8 cam and also a mini-DV cam. This problem has made Premiere nearly unusable. I'm desperate at this point.
    System:
    CPU: P4 HT 2.4ghz
    Ram: 2x 1gb DDR
    Video: ATI Radeon 9000 Series
Scratch Disk: 250gb WD My Book - USB 2.0 (I suspect this might be part of the problem)
    OS: XP Pro SP2
I'm not on my machine right now, and I can definitely provide more information if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

Aside from some other issues, I found that USB was just not suited for editing to/from, and on a much faster machine, that you list.
FW-400 was only slightly better. It took FW-800, before I could actually use the externals for anything more than storage, i.e. no editing, just archiving.
    eSATA would be even better/faster.
Please see Harm's ARTICLES on hardware, before you begin investing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] Oops, I see that Harm DID link to his articles. Missed that. Still, it is worth mentioning again.
Also, as an aside, PrPro 2.0 has no problem on my workstation when working with several 2 hour DV-AVI's, even when these are edited to/from FW-800 externals.

  • I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it continuously crashes!

I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it keeps crashing.  I've tried creating a new project, opening an existing project -- nothing works.  I can start a new project and get as far as to import clips into the project window but the moment I try to play a clip or create a sequence from it, it crashes.  I'm running off a brand new laptop (Lenovo X1 carbon 3rd gen)  8Gb Ram, i5 processor, best of anything I could get on this specific machine.  Any thoughts??
The files I'm opening with a new project are MP4 files from a gopro camera.  The existing project was a CS5.5 file that it attempted to update to CC -- it actually located all of the files fine and as soon as it gets to the workspace with everything laid out, it crashes.  Let me know if I can supply any more information.

I just posted Im having the same issue.
    Premiere Pro 2014.2 is crashing
I love PPRO 2014 very much but, wrote an nasty gram to Adobe because each update seems to have issues.
I have set my autosave to 5 min saves and each time I see it say AUTO SAVING I use it as a reminder to do a real save.
I have a super system and it didn't use to crash like this every hour.
Why not try it out for a year and do a major update vs little updates that have issues the last 3 times.
I can't render either with the hardware setting, which did work for a year then, the latest update screwed that up.
The Adobe Tech blamed it on Apple but, hey - it worked for a year until Adobes update.

  • Adobe Premier Elements 9 stopped working randomly, Please help!

Just recently when I try to open my Adobe Premier Elements 9 and an error message keeps popping up that says "We have detected an incompatible display driver, please update. HD Graphics 4400 3.0.0 - Build 10.18.10.3977." I went and updated the driver but every time I try to open Premier the pop up keeps popping up and when Premier does open, the video tracks on my timeline will not show on the play back screen so it makes editing impossible.
I have had this same Adobe Premier Elements 9 since 2011 and had no problems until about a few days ago.

If you are on Windows, it is VERY likely that a Windows update has changed something

    Ernest,
This is how I do it: With all the video & still's in the time line, I click on each (even if I have to use the command key and click on each file). When each file is active I go under SHARE- go to EXPORT MEDIA- I use the Apple Pro Res codec 4:2:2. If you do not click on each file in the time line it will not be exported out.
    Hope this helps.
