Adobe CS3 installation problem in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I cannot install Adobe CS3 Production Premium in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (fresh clean install). I have tried everything, including turning off the anti-virus software. It just pops up asking if I want to allow the installer to make changes to Windows, etc and when I click yes it just closes and does nothing... Has anyone been able to get CS3 installed in Windows 7?
The only reason I have a fresh install is because my Ultra CS3 that I had loaded in addition to CS4 package timed out after 30 days and I really need to get access to Ultra CS3 to finish this project. I was planning installing just one app (maybe Photoshop CS3) from the CS3 install so that I can enter my CS3 Production Premium reg info in the system so tat Ultra CS3 will work. I can just start over and do another 30 days with the Ultra in DEMO mode (it does not tell you it's running in demo mode by the way!) and finish this project, but I was looking for a more permanent solution. Once I put CS4 back on, the CS3 package installed over it...
Does anyone knw what to do in this situation? i.e. Could I install it into a Windows XP Pro 32-bit edition and perform and UPGRADE to Windows 7?
Has anyone else ran into this inability to install CS3 in Windows 7? I am running the CS3 install from the Adobe folder on the desktop that it maes when you run the files downloaded from Adobe.com - I get nothing. The task manager shows something open for a split second and then closes right away?! This is very frustrating.  I have even run the CS3 clean script just in case. Any help would be appreciated!

i had issues installing cs4 products, my reponse to others with cs4 issues may help you:
i see 216 others have posted questions on this issue on this forum from searching "setup.exe", including myself, so i'm just responding to the recent ones.
i recently downloaded trails of flash cs4 and web premium package cs4 (took a day to download at high speed starbuck's internet). couldnt get the setup.exe to work or the uninstaller to work. surfing tech support over next couple weeks to try various agents was useless and expensive until i finally reached someone with useful info. all the agents had foriegn accents and read from scripts and web support pages until yesterday, when i reached a guy who told me two things i'll report to various forums addressing this same issue:
1. download the "windows install clean up" program from window's website (google: windows install cleanup) to uninstall everything adobe. then go through your folders to erase any adobe remnants. this program is different from the uninstaller that doesnt work in the programs and features area of the control panel when you try to uninstall adobe products from there.
2. windows explorer 8, the newest version, DOES NOT download adobe software properly and leaves things out, causing all sorts of issues including the setup.exe program not working. download firefox browser from mozella (google: firefox) and use it for all adobe downloads. apparently the old windows explorer 7 will work, but if you already have explorer 8 installed its easiest to just use firefox.
i'm spending the next couple days downloading the 4.14 G web premium trail with firefox and will report if this works.

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.

  • CS3 Master collection installation problem on Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi Guys
    Please can you advise
I am encountering problems with the installation of CS3 Master Collection on Windows 7 64 bit, initially my hard drive crashed and performed a dump.
Subsequent attempts to install CS 3 has resulted in failure to install 12 components, essentially the individual software products including photoshop, encore, illustrator etc.
I have re-performed the installation several times with the same installation error.
I believe CS3 to be compatible with Windows 7 64 bit
Any thoughts, guidance on how to rectify the problem and achieve successful installation.
I do have Adobe Reader X and Flash player X already installed. I assume these should not cause an issue with the CS3 installation
    Thxs in anticipation

Na, you have it all backwards. CS3 is neithe officially tested nor endorsed, certified or supported on W7. Many users still use it succsfully, but there ae no guarantees whatsoever. Furthermore using Acrobat X ma exactly be the problem due to certain PDF components being shared acoss apps and newer versions not being compatible with the old installer. Therefore removing those parts and reinstlling them later is advisable. Beyond hee's a procedure that should work:
    - use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool
    - install CS3
    - uninstall CS3 via the Add or Remove Programs system control panel
    - install CS3 again
This convoluted procedure is necessary due to bugs in the installer which otherwise prevent things from working.

  • Flash player 11.0.1.152 installation problem with Windows Vista 64-Bit

    Hello,
I just can't get Flash Player to install on my computer with Windows Vista 64-Bit - doesnt matter if I try with Firefox, Opera or IE (I usually use Firefox).
The download isn't a problem, but when I start the downloaded .exe, this file just disappears from my download folder and nothing happens - besides starting a process called install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih_3.exe, which does nothing. The usual installation popup never appears. After that I can't try starting the installation again, until disabling the process via task manager ("Only a single instance of this application may run"). Doesn't matter if I try the download and installation with or without "McAffe Security Plus" btw - same result.
I never had such a problem before - Flash Player 10.3 was and is no problem to install and use.
I have tried all the measures suggested in the troubleshooting section on the official site, including the advanced troubleshooting measures (uninstall old version, run as administrator, disabling software firewalls, disabling virus scanner etc.). Nothing helps.
I don't got those problems with my laptop running Windows 7 - just my desktop computer with Vista 64-Bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try using the installers from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550

  • CS3 reinstall problems on Windows 7 64-bit

I had cs3 installed on my desktop running windows 7 64-bit for months. Then I got a licensing error message, and reinstall message. I uninstalled everything Adobe, ran the cleanscript app. Tried reinstalling again, and Adobe Acrobat installs but all other components fail to install. Tried lots of things from other threads such as moving adobepdf.dll_64 to desktop, then renaming it. Nothing has worked. Would really appreciate some good advice. Thanks!

Please review your install logs to determine where the installation is failing.  You can find details on how to review the install logs at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • Adobe Prof 7 problems with Windows 7 - 64 bit

My laptop crashed and I just purchased a new comptuer with Windows 7 - 64 bit.  Now have 2 problems with Adobe:
#1 When I right click on a web site to save as PDF, it won't work. There is no error, no response.  Just doesn't do anything
#2 If I go to a web site requireing Adobe Flash Player Installer and I click to install it... nothing happens.
    Please help!
    Thanks Mary

Adobe Acrobat 7 surely isn't supported in Windows 7. Heck the newest version probably isn't either (I haven't checked).
That being said, right-clicking to save a file doesn't involve Acrobat and neither does installing Flash Player.

Did you mean that the way to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 7 SP1? Firstly, if you need to upgrade IE 8 to IE9, 10, 11, you do need to upgrade Windows 7 to SP1.
To upgrade system, you can adapt to check Windows update, then download and install the SP package.
You can also choose to install the SP 1 package manually. Please access to the link below to downlaod Windows 7 Sp 1 package:

I am trying to install my Scanjet 4370 Scanner to tw o different computers, both use Windows 7 OS, with one using 32 bit the other using 64 bit.  Icannot get the scanner to fuinction.  Currently I am trying to use it on a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit.  According to instructions online,  I may have to uninstall certain HP drivers/software first then reinstall it.  But I'm not sure which software to uninstall.  It took me many hours to get my HP Photosmart D7560 function, and I don't want to accidently uninstall software for this printer as part the process,  after spending so many hours to get the printer working.  I need help to get my scanner installed and functioning.  The scanner is well out of warranty, so HP is useless.

I have an original version of Photoshop CS3.  I run Windows 7 32 bit.  After an update of the operating system by MS, my Photoshop refused to work, whereas before the MS update, the software worked perfectly.  Please help.  Ernst

    Dear Sir,
I have an original version of Photoshop CS3. I run Windows 7 (32 bit) on my PC.  After a recent (±2 months ago) update/upgrade by Microsoft of Windows 7 (32 bit) on my PC, I lost all functionality of the Photoshop software despite the fact that I have been running Photoshop CS3 on Windows 7 for the past 2 years without any problems. I uninstalled the software from my PC and tried to re-install it again.  It would not re-install.  After I press the software “setup” function to install the software, a window appears and a blue band runs across it, but then everything disappears from the screen again without leaving any message as to why the software would not install.
I have been informed by Adobe Helpdesk that Photoshop CS3 does not run on the Windows 7 OS.  Due to previous experience that Photoshop CS3 had in fact run on my PC on Windows 7, I find it totally strange that I could not install the software again.
In fact the, same version of Photoshop CS3 is currently running without any problems on my laptop under Windows 7 (64 bit).
    Please help if you can.
    Kind regards,
    Ernst Odendaal

  • Does CS3 play well under Windows 7 (64 bit)

I have just built an i7 machine using 64 bit Windows 7 RC for the OS.  I then installed my CS3 package (and updated via network).
Premier capture of HDV/DV fails with the likes of Debug event with "TextPopup.cpp-273" and "HotTimecodeControl.cpp-387".
I don't want to waste debug time if there is a basic incompatibilty between CS3 and the OS or 64 bit version.
My package of CS3 has been working well on my old XP machine for years (but I wanted to improve the speed).
Does CS3 play well under Windows 7 (64 bit)?  What should I be aware of moving forward?  Advise?

My problem with capture seems to have been corrected by an update to the motherboard device drivers.
However, I did first try the "XP Mode" suggestion.  XP Mode runs as using "Virtual PC".  This two step approach requires that you first install the Virtual PC application on Windows 7 and then install "Windows-XP-Mode" as the OS on a Virtual PC.  Before that, the motherboard must have "Virtualization Technology" turned on.  This seemed a little cumbersome for a long term solution so I stopped before installing CS3 on the "Virtual XP Machine".  I did a little more shotgun experimentation including driver updates and found that capture had begun to work.
To be sure of the solution, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 (overwriting previous disk contents), motherboard driver updates, and CS3 install (with updates).  Capture is working for both DV and HDV modes.  However, do note that my motherboard does now have Virtualization Technology enabled.  This may or may not be a factor.
I have also noted that there is also an "XP Compatibility Mode" option available for applications (that is different from Windows-XP-Mode).  Windows 7 presents this option by right clicking on the shortcut and selecting Properties/Compatibility.
Hope this helps the next person to stumble down my path.
