Adobe flash player no longer working after upgrade

i am using adobe flash version 11.1.102.55. my issue started with version ".52 download. videos no longer display properly. I followed all the troubleshooting steps. i uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted etc. i also doube checked scripts are enabled and active X filtering is turned off. i am using windows 7 and ie9. i have been using flash for years with never a single issue until the recent upgrade. i upgraded today to .55 and followed all the same troubleshooting with no luck. any ideas?

cant see the animation.
when a page loads with a video, it shows up as all back. if i click the screen the audio will start. i can hear it but there is no video, just a black box. if i scroll on the page, i see a quick one frame gimpse and then it goes to black.
on the hardware acceleration, i followed the instructions, but when it asks me to right click on the image from the link, my image allows me to select settings but then the screen is black.
device drivers are up to date.
any other ideas?
i appreciate your help.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11 NOT working after several attempts to download, uninstall, & reinstall

I have problems with Adobe Flash Player 11 NOT working after several attempts to download, then uninstall, & re-install.
I uninstalled the previous versions of Adobe Flash Player from my computer PRIOR to attempting to install the new 11 version, so now I'm unable to view videos, etc.,
I'm using Windows Vista 32 bit, Internet Explorer 9.0 (which I closed when I got error messages during Adobe Flash Player 11 Installation.  I've  disabled my AVG -Virus also during the installation of Flash Player 11.
FYI, I'm not computer savvy so the YouTube video by Adobe Tech was too complicated to follow AND I'm unable to view  (DUH!) it since I have no Flash Player program installed (doesn't make sense!) .
Thanks for keeping it simple (KISS for me).

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling some 30 times now ..rebooting, you name it.
I haven't been able to use flash since Adobe kindly shoved that latest update down my computer's throat.
Right after getting the 'successful' installation message I restart IE9 ..go to my channel on youtube and immediately get the message:
The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback.
    Get the latest Flash Player
I tried Chrome and on two or three it worked but then even after closing out of them ..Chrome slowed down to a crawl and finally informed me that Flash had stopped working.
This has entirely wasted 3 nights of my time. It is 2:30 am and I should have had at least 2hours sleep already to rise at 6:30 but no, thanks this I'm still up and no doubt millions of other computer users are having just as much fun.. Everyone I know that allowed the updates to install ..is having the same problem ..Chrome/IE9/Firefox ...you can truly call it Adobe's Universal Cluster ...
I live with Adobe. At work we have 6 fully Adobied LR4/CS5 & 6/InDesign workstations. I'm a photographer using nothing but Adobe products and quite frankly I feel this is the worst treatment you have ever given your customers.
Please stop the CYA and just fix the damm thing! I realize you didn't write it Chris but surely you can get Adobe management to address this instead of just trying to get their users to try and debug it for the airheads that released it. Has anyone stopped to consider the financial damage being done due to videos not playing the ads that support the sites and no doubt stream revenue to Adobe? These guys have rolled the online experience back 5 years minimum and Adobe will probably pay the price for it. Re-issue a working version and go back to the drawing board!

  • Since recent update, Adobe Flash Player no longer works.

Help please.  Recently I received notification of updated version, latest version of Adobe Flash Player for my MacBook Pro with OS X version 10.6.8.
Flash Player was working and active prior to this update.  Since downloading the update, anything requiring Flash Player just puts up a blank screen.
    What to do.
So far I have uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled, but this has made no difference.

I guess your machine is Windows 7.
Could you please try the solution provided in the following link? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/987370

  • Flash Player doesn't work after upgrade

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and I'm using IE 11.  I have tried uninstalling/installing, deleting all files mentioned in multiple posts, used Firefox in attempt to install--all leave me at step 1.  At best, the files appears to download and install correctly, but when I try to use it on multiple sites (Facebook games, YouTube, etc.), they all state that I need to install the latest version of Flash Player, which I just did.  I tried the usual restart/shutdown/etc., all at periods as noted in posts.  I have tried to download older versions of Flash Player, and I'm having the same issues.  All Windows items are updated.  I do not have any virus software running, and I have never had any problems with the updates in the past.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Download this file: deepclean.zip
    Unzip it.
Double click the deepclean_set.bat file. A command prompt window will open, and when the Disk Cleanup opens, check EVERY box in the list and click OK.
Double click the deepclean_run.bat file. The command prompt will open again and the Disk Cleanup will run, cleaning system cache files and other unnecessary items that may be responsible for your issue.
It may take a while to fully clean up your Hard drive.
DON'T close the command prompt window. It'll close when the cleanup finishes.
Afterward, download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller and installers directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "save Link as" (Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER, then the ActiveX installer, and lastly the (other browsers) installer.

macbook air adobe flash player doesn't work after installation

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 7. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or reboot before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
If the warning persists, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 6
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 7
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 8
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

What does the Adobe test page say?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Flash Player No Longer Working

My Adobe flash player has stopped working on Internet pages. (I can no longer view flash videos.)  I have a 64-bit PC using Windows 7 and am running Internet Explorer 11. I've made sure I have the latest version of Flash Player installed, but still no go. I've gone through some of the help pages on the Adobe website, but they have been of no help.

  • Adobe Flash Player does not work

Suddenly all web sites using Flash Player no longer work showing the error message that I will have to install the latest Flash Player. I followed instructions in help and I used the uninstaller and resinstalled but it still doesn't work on any web site. It is version 12.0.0.77 for Mac using Safari. Strangely, when following Adobe help, at one point a box is displayed that says
Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled.
    Please go to step 2.
Step 2 was to install which I did. But the error message still appears. For some reason applications cannot detect the presence and version of Flash Player.

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked

    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled
              When visiting other websites
From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select

    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
              Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.

if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.

  • Flash Player No Longer Works on Macintosh or Windows

I have installed, reinstalled, done the permissions thing,
tried everything - but Flash Player no longer works.
Many of my friends have the same problem.
I wish Adobe had never bought Macromedia. Macromedia was
pretty perfect. I never EVER had a problem with flash before Adobe
    got involved.
I have to install the flash player every single time I want
to open up a browser now.
I have a brand new MacBook Pro Intel, 15 inch - new OS,
    etc,....
I've read lots of grief from windows users in these forums
who are experiencing the same problem.
Has anyone else had this problem on a Macintosh? Have you
    found any solutions?
Any response would be greatly appreciated.
    much thanks

It definitely appears to be a flash related issue, more then the browser, as i've tried different versions of firefox and chrome and they all have the same problem with the newer versions of flash

iPad app no long works after upgrading to iOS 7.1.1

Did you try deleting then reinstalling the app?  Sometimes developers will need to update their apps for compatibility.  If it still doesn't work after reinstalling, wait a few days to see if an app update becomes available.
