Adobe Flash Player - Uninstall problem
I have a new HP Pavilion f0010 laptop. Was having problems with videos being "green". Did some online researching and somehow accidentally uninstalled Adobe Flash Player from control panel. How do I reinstall this to original installation? Thanks.
Just run the installer for the latest version of the Flash Player
For future reference, Flash-related questions should be directed to a forum for the Flash Player

ADOBE FLASH PLAYER UNINSTALL ISSUE- FEB 2015
POSTED FEB 2 2015
hello fellow mac users - I have an adobe flash player question...
I am sure everyone is aware of the adobe flash player vulnerability that came out late January 2015. Initially when I saw that, I promptly removed flash player on my machine and installed the new version 16.0.0.287. A day later when I started my machine, I saw a Flash Player message indicating I have to download again. I googled and found out Adobe actually only partially fixed the vulnerability.
Exasperated, I decided to say bye-bye to Adobe Flash for good by uninstalling Flash Player. After uninstalling, I went to Youtube and played a video - it shows that its using HTML5 codec to play the video - so far, so good.
The issue I am having is that since I uninstalled the Flash Player, whenever I start up my machine I am getting this "Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller" pop up window.
The first time I saw it, I clicked on UNINSTALL button and it will say "Adobe Flash Player was removed". But every day when I start up my machine, it still shows this pop up message and its driving me bonkers.
is there a way to remove or prevent this pop-up from showing up? BTW I checked my machine's preferences and Adobe Flash Player is no longer listed.
BTW I have a iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011), Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Thanks for your input in advance.RESOLVED - Feb 3 2015
I believe I have found the issue and resolution on that pesky Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller - thought i'd share in case this would help someone.
Since that f***ing Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller pops up each time I start up the machine, I thought I should check the "startup" items in my Mac machine. So I did my research and I did the following steps:
1. Click on Mac > System Preferences
2. Select Users and Groups
3. User and Groups window pops up - On the right pane you'll see "Password" and "Login Items" items - click on "Login Items".
On the Login items - I did see 'Adobe Flash Player Installer' - apparently this triggers the Uninstaller instead of Installer - but whatever - I have banned Flash Player from my Mac so I highlight this item on the Login Items list, and click on the minus sign button - it removed the Adobe Flash Player Installer from the Login Items list. Then I restarted my machine - and voila - NO MORE PESKY Adobe Flash Player uninstaller pop-ups!!!! Hurrah!!!
Again this might help specifically for those who want to BAN Adobe Flash Player from their machines and are seeing the Adobe Flash Player Installer / Uninstaller every time they start up their machine. Apparently this is not a widespread problem but it still does happen. Good luck y'all and say goodbye to Adobe Flash Player (sorry Adobe, but I do still love your core products like Lightroom and Photoshop). Adobe should not have bought Macromedia (who originally developed Flash and Shockwave) years back but who would have known Flash would be such a headache (no thanks to cybercriminals)... -
Adobe Flash Player Install problem
I have been trying to install Adope Flash player on my
computer. It seems to be installed but flash programs will not
open. When I look in the currently installed programs list the
Adobe Flash Player has a red X on it. What could be the possible
problem? I am using Windows XP home edition.
Thanks,Hi regztfen,
If you’re having difficulties with the ActiveX
installer on IE these steps will typically resolve the issue:
Try this first: Instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling
the Flash Player:
1. First download the uninstaller to your desktop from here
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
2. Before running this uninstaller be sure to read the
instruction and close all running programs.
3. Open the following folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
4. Run the uninstaller
5. What files are left in this folder?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
6. If there are files left, delete the Flash folder.
7. Install the Flash Player from here:
http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
8. Test the Flash Player here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
Also check your Internet Explorer ActiveX settings
Browser security settings should be chosen by you or by your
system administrator. For single users who do not have an
administrator, the Medium: Default Level allows you to view Flash
content. For any Custom Level, ensure that both the "Download
Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins"
options are set to "Prompt".
To change your security level:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Select Custom Level.
5. Find the section "ActiveX controls and plug-ins".
6. Set ' Download Signed ActiveX Controls' to Prompt.
7. Set 'Run ActiveX Controls And Plug-ins' to Prompt.
If you are having trouble, make sure that your Internet
Explorer security level is not set to High or to a custom level
that does not allow viewing of ActiveX controls.
Finally, it may be that you have incorrect permissions in the
system registry:
To fix these Windows system registry permission conflicts you
can use Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Please download Microsoft’s tool to your desktop.
http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip
1. Login as the User that has the incorrect permissions in
the system registry
2. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the
“subinacl.exe” to the desktop
*** Make sure both files are on the desktop
3. Close out all applications
4. Run the “reset.cmd” file
5. It will open a DOS like terminal and start running through
registry keys
6. When it is finished it will say “press any key to
continue”
7. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player
from here:
http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Test the Flash Player here:

Adobe Flash Player 10 Problem.
Alright everyone, this issue has been bugging me for so damn LONG!!!!!
The problem is:
I'm trying to make my Adobe Flash Player 10 to work in my Mozilla Firefox because a certain website is asking for my flash player to get updated to 10. I've both installed from the adobe download manager and the direct link, I've also got the ActiveX installed and it's updated and I've unistalled the previous versions, only the flash player 10 is installed. I'm running on a Windows XP and I have no idea how to fix this situation... it won't load whatsoever!
Please would anyone help me.Hi, "finally replying"? LOL, maybe I'm in a different time zone? Just to clarify, contrary to what some may think, I am not an Employee of Adobe nor Microsoft. I am just an end user as yourself, taking my time to help those that are having problems.
Since you stated that Adobe Flash Player is not working for you in either Internet Explorer or Firefox, then I am going to suggest to you a thread that has the latest instructions by a very knowledgeable person. He has helped many users on this forum.

I have Adobe Flash Player 9 (Version 9,0,45,0) installed on
my computer but I keep getting the following error: A script in
this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it
continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want
to abort the script?
Anybody else had this problem and what did you do to get rid
of it?I am having the same exact problem and I can't seem
to find any information on why it's happening. I can't do anything
that involves the flash player without getting that same error
message. I found a page that says to push the no button 3 times
within 15 second of when it appears but the error box takes so long
to even come up that 15 seconds goes by pretty easily. If anyone
has an idea of how to solve this problem I would really appreciate
the advice. -
Adobe Flash Player Settings Problem
Hi I'm having problems selecting things inside of "Adobe
Flash Player Settings."
When ever i right click on a flash instance, say a youtube
video and select settings, I get no response from box that appears
no matter where I click. Even when I click close I get no response.
I have a Mac Book Pro running os 10.4.11
I have the newest version of Flash Player 10
I have Java 5
I have tried this in both Firefox and Safari
When I created a new account on my computer and opened
youtube i was able to change settings inside of panel.
Any help would be wonderful I have googled and searched these
forums a million times looking for help and have found nothing
helpfulTWEAK DISCOVERED for Flash Player 10 to save local settings!!
I was digging around in:
~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/fpupdatepl/
and I discovered:
Adobe Flash Player.pkg
If you Right Click (or Control + Click) the Package and then select 'Show Package Contents' this will open a new window.
Then navigate to:
Contents/Resources/
There you will find a file:
Adobe Flash Player.info
Open this file with text edit (or your app of choice)
On about the fourth line from the bottom look for:
OverwritePermissions NO
Change this to:
OverwritePermissions YES
A NOTE OF CAUTION
I have not fully tested this change, but did find that after I modified the local settings for the Flash Player, then restarted Safari that the settings remained the same.
Good Luck!

Safari 6.0.2 and adobe flash player update problem
I am having problems installing the current version of adobe flash player. Whenever I try and view a video from a site that requires it (eg. youtube, etc.), it says I need to update adobe flash player and sends me to a link to do so. I've installed flash player "successfully" several times, deinstalled it and reinstalled it, re-downloaded it, but I'm always getting the message to update flash player. Can anyone help with some suggestions to get this working corectly?
I am running osx 10.8.2 and safari 6.0.2.
Thanks very much. RonIf you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
3. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
4. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane. -

I am operating Windows Home (64 bit). I use NORTON Security software. When I open a website that requires Adobe Flash Player 11, I try to download the required file. I have done this about a dozen times. What am I missing????

Adobe flash player security problem
Hello bodies
I have problems with ExternalInterface and navigateToURL,
How can I avoid flash player to show this box?
when I've already enabled this setting
Also I've checked some flash banners and disabled options above for test and they worked fine anyway
I want to make my script work even if users has disabled those options above.
I don't want when using ExternalInterface flash player to throw these alerts also
Please HelpFor you to override that securioty alert you need to add the location to that second interface you showed. So you could add the "C:\Documents and Settings\George\Desktop" to that lcurrently empty list.
That security applies to local file usage. So if you have this file deployed on the internet, people should not have the issue you are having. -
