Adobe form - browser not closing

We've developed an Adobe Interactive form (thru Netweaver Developer Studio NW04 SP 11 - i.e. Web Dynpro).
This form will be accessed by external users for printing.
They have Adobe Reader 7.0.8.
Our problem is that the external users are not ready to install xACF framework.
Because they do not have xACF framework, the Adobe forms though shows up, the browser can not be closed by clicking "X" on top right corner, or clicking File -> Close.
They have to go to Task Manager to kill the browser.
Any suggestions what should I do to close the browser?

Hi Vimukta,
There're 2 (similar) options.
Or the user must install (the correct version of) xACF, which is standalone software and can be downloaded as part of some SAP note. Your end-users usually can't access this, so you have to redistribute it, e.g. offer it as a download to your users.
The second option is to use the AdobeControls ActiveX control; if your users access the form in their (IE only) browser, they're automatically asked to install an ActiveX control. But they do need local Administrator privileges, or the installation of the ActiveX control is not even asked.
I agree, these limitations (including no proper Reader 8.0 support) are not exactly very user-friendly, but the only alternative is to use ZCI forms, which is only available on NW04s.

I have developed an adobe form using webdynpro application. While testing, the output(pdf) does not occupy the entire page/screen from end-user side. But when I test the same from my side, the output appears fine . Could anyone suggest me on this?

Did you check the resolution at end user side? Is it different from your resolution?
To overcome this check what is the height and width you have specified for InteractiveFormUI element in your Web Dynpro application. Have you specified in pixels like 300px? You need to enter it as 100% for both.

Interactive Adobe form is not interactive in ABAP WD

Hello,
I've created an Adobe form with interactive UI elements (text input fields). When simulating these in the Adobe designer, they are all working fine. However, when executing the form embedded in an ABAP WD, the input fields are not active.
When I check the 'enable' check box of the form, a runtime error occurs.
Any assistance on that is highly appreciated.

seems as if your system is on a low support package...
If you go on to SP10 which should be there shortly, then you can also use ZCI in addition to ACF...

Adobe form data not being retrieved by Web Dynpro application

Hi,
I have created an online interactive Adobe form embedded in a Web Dynpro ABAP application. The Web Dynpro application calls a function module to update data in SAP. My problem is that the ABAP code that was generated to retrieve the data from the Adobe form and call the function module does not retrieve the data if it has been typed into any of the input fields. Oddly enough, it does work if the data is entered by using the value helps that have been placed on the form.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Use messageboxes on various events to find out when your value dissapeears.
If you´re not sure about the binding, you can always drag/drop from data view tab onto the layout and check the binding which the system generates for you. Just to make sure.

One section data of adobe form is not read by web dynpro code

Hi,
I am facing problem in adobe form integrated with web dynpro. Form is having Java script. There is a section in the form related to settlement rule of wbs. It can be added in the form by pressing add record button.
When I use this form offline and press add record and one section is added. I fill the data in those two section and upload on the portal to process online data in the second section is not reaby the code whereas in the first section is present there.
But if the same activity is performed online data is properly read by the code.
Could you please assist if there is any issue of saving data in the form offline and how it is handled in offline form.

Try this.
I think you have corresponding context node is in the WDP. using 'APPEND INITIAL LINE TO' just add some blank data to the context. .
Inside the form, create a table for the context node. so at run time all the empty entry will be displayed. Make this Table as hidden.
Create another Table that will display all the non empty row from the above hidden table. When ever we add / delete rows, the corresponding entry will update the hidden table. or else you can update the hidden table on the click event of SUBMIT .

Adobe Form is not opening after saved the form locally

Hi Experts,
I have implemented the adobe form using webdynpro java using ACF. The scenario is initially the form is loading with input fieIds and dropdown boxes after that the form data has to be submitted into backend.
I have encountered the problem that if i save the submitted form into locally and trying to open the form its not opening.
The server and other details are:
NetWeaver - 7.00(2004s) SPS3
Adobe reader - 9.0
ADS vesion - 7.01

1). If i will convert the forms from ACF to ZCI capability. Suppose if I want to fall back from ZCI to ACF forms then what is the solution for that?
Well you won't need to go back to ACF as such but if you want to then may be you can keep take backup of all forms.
2).After conversion of the forms to ZCI capability then what are the necessary steps i need to follow like abode form ui elements can be changed to webdynpro native ui elements type like that.
The Report generally mentions all the items in yellow/red for things to work on but yes if you have used ACF Controls you just need to update it by Native controls. From Web Dynpro form properties change the displayType property to native as well.

Dropdown box for SAP provided Adobe Form is not populating

Hi experts,
I am new to Adobe Interactive Forms. Right now we are using Standard Adobe form for the (PCR) Special Payment. But the drop down box for 'Reason for spl. Payment' is not getting populated. We have defined Reason for special payments in IMG. Also the form 'ISR_FORM_SPSP' has been converted to 'ZCI' format.
Can you please let me know is there anything else I have to configure?

Thank you for the reply. As I said I am using the Standard Adobe form provided by SAP (Special Payment) 'ISR_FORM_SPSP'. On another note ..I am also using the form for Changing working time 'ISR_FORM_SPWT' where the dropdown box for the 'new working time' is getting populated properly. I am new to Interactive Adobe Form so I really don't know where I can find the backend code for this form.
When I go to trasaction 'SFP' I could only see form and the interface being used. Is there a specific BADI that I need to look in? Where can I find the script for the Dropdown UI element.

Interactive adobe forms are not accessible in Mobiles

Hi,
We have a requirement to use password protected adobe forms generated from SAP ADS. We have developed such adobe forms using java scripts.
Now the issue is that we are not able to open this XFA forms in mobiles. Could you kindly provide information on this. We need to know that the whether the interactive Adobe forms created from SAP ADS are accesable in mobiles.

Adobe Reader/Acrobat DC mobile products do not support XFA forms.

Interactive Adobe Form Attachments - not possible??

Hi All,
I'm trying to extract attachments from interactive adobe form.
I bound the pdfsource to the form and tried to extract the attachments using pdfclasses.
The attachments are not captured in the pdfsource. SAP Note 1260750 says
"There is no support for attachments to interactive forms up to SAP NetWeaver 70 EhP2."
However I tried the same using offline upload (interactive form) and I could extract the attachments on SAP Netweaver 7.0 Ehp1.
I would like to know -
1) If there is some work around to do the same for Online form too.
2) Is Ehp2 released?

Since i had queries regarding the same requirement that I think you have just achieved, so I could not help but to reply to the same thread and hoping to get some help.
I have developed an offline Interactive form which after getting filled is submitted by mail to save the information at the backend in the SAP system. This is working fine.
But now i need to enhance this form by providing an attachment functionality to the form where the user would be allowed to fill in the form and also attach some documents. I have been able to implement the same absolutely fine but while submitting the form through email, where my form gets attached with the mail in an xml format, I am not able find a way to send the attachment in the attached xml and thus not reaching backend.
Please help me out to find a way to send the attached document by Submitting though mail and thus make it reach the backend system for further processing.

Adobe form is not posting data

Dear Experts
I am facing problem in vendor creation using adobe form .
i developed a remote function module to create vendor and used Batch Data Communication to update T Code XK01 when i execute it runs fine . when we see that vendor using T code XK03 it is seen in the vendor list. but when i create vendor through the form vendor is not created.
but when i applied the same procedure to update a z table through a function module it works. Please help what to do.

The versions look ok and this should not have happened. Did you upgrade your ECC application from which you are calling Adobe Interactive forms, if so let me know ECC upgrade details.
Are you using adobe interactive forms for ESS and MSS.
Did you check the default trace, you can also activate the adobe logs from visual admin
Go to Visual Administrator for your J2EE engine.
Server -> services -> Log Configurator.
Then select 'To Advanced mode' and 'Locations' tab.
Root Location -> com -> sap -> engine -> services -> webservices -> server -> runtime -> com -> adobe_adobeDocumentServices -> AdobeDocumentServices
Please change this node to 'ALL' and save configuration.
All ADS trace will be written in DefaultTrace of server node.
After you finished your test, don't forget to change log level to 'default'
If you cannot find any useful information in default trace, please forward it to me.

Modified adobe form is not updating in to the spool

Now i am working for the adobe forms work, i need to change the header and need to maintain header for all the pages.
i updated successfully for the header but when i am checking in spool it is not showing updated form(it is showing previous form).
the updated adobe form is showing in Preview PDF tab(layout tab) but not into the spool
Please guide me on this issue.

i have did the same thing, so many times i tried to execute a transaction but it is not giving right form.still it is showing old form
Intially the form created me and that is not moved to quality, so my functional collegue asked to change the header information and it should be display for all the pages.
my previous design as below mentioned.

table data will be displayed in to this place.
changes for the requirement are new header for the second page like Only date, pageno, logo and inspection lot.
i did the changes in master page and after that remaining data put into design page.
before it is working good and now we changed on that time onwards it is not showing updated form.
still it is showing the previous form.
please guide us this issue.

On submit button clicked , adf form is not closing but going to next task.

In my application when In a adf form when I am clicking on the Submit button task is moving to next task but that adf form is not automatially closing .I need to close the adf form by closing the window on clicking X button.
I have tried with closing or commenting the line from task flow.xml...
 but still it is not working.
Please suggest me how we can achieve this.
Any suggestion,ideas are welcome.

Adobe form MICR not printing transit, amount chars

Hi,
I am using MICR Std font in the adobe form and the form is also loaded on printer which has device type TROY MICR.
I can see the numbers in MICR font but I am not able to print special chars. I tried to do that using 'A' 'B' 'C' 'D' as we do in sap-script. Then I tried it with '[or]' '#' '$' and '-' but it just print those chars not special chars.
I hope someone can help me on this.

Just to document the solution, we had the same problem where we wanted to print the Transit synmbol or Branch Bank Id number,
1. Goto MS word
2. Type the numerals 2446 which is the unicode number for transit symbol, press Alt X on the keyboard it will transform the numbers into the symbol
3. Now create a text field in your Adobe designer and set the font to MICR Std, you would see a [] in the field but on print preview it would come out correctly.

i created adobe form after click on test button it will ask for output device.
i checked with all output device options but i did not see the output.
any configuration required for seeing the adobe forms output?

Hi,
First question is do you have Adobe Document Services (ADS) in your system landscape? This is essential to generate output from adobe forms.
If your ADS is set up you can call function module FP_GET_LAST_ADS_ERRSTR after you call the generated form function module you will get the last error message from the ADS.

Script to open an pdf attachment in the adobe form is not working.

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement where i should open pdf attachment from the attachment tab of adobe form.
For this i have written below java script in the click event of a button ->
I have an attachment pdf with name attach.pdf in the attachment tab of adobe form.

oObj.openDataObject();
->When i click on the button it is giving the error -> TypeError: Invalid Argument type.
Parameter cName.
Can any one help me how can i use openDataObject method to open an attachment from the attachment tab of adobe form.
