Adobe form issue in ESS

Hi Expert,
I encounter an error when showing the payslip through ESS, it seems that it is related to the adobe licensing. Could anyone let me know how to solve this?

Adobe form: Issue with BACK, CANCEL and EXIT buttons

I am new to Adobe forms. I created a simple demo Adobe form and was able to print it successfully except a strange problem.
Whenever I opt for print preview it shows me a blank page. On pressing enter it shows me the form, But now none of the BACK, EXIT, CANCEL buttons work. On pressing any of them I keep getting the print form.
So the only way I can come out of it is /n.
Can anyone please help with the reason for such an issue and how to get rid of it.

Adobe forms issue with signature pads

Hi everyone,
I am new to and just joined this forum as I never had to until this point. I am having some strange issue with adobe forms and using signature pad.
I have a form built using adobe X. I am using Topaz signature pad to have a digital signature in my form. My application (which was built on Progress 4GL) opens up this form using rich text editor. Most of my clients remote login to use the application. Every now and then my clients complain that whenever they click on the signature field on the form to open up the signature pad window, it kicks them out of the whole application. This happens so randomly that they can't predict when it occurs. I logged each and every lines on my code to see if there's any issue with the codes but they all execute fine. And I can't log after the form is open as adobe takes the control and they handle the communication with signaute pad. So far I have checked if there's any memory leakage that would kick me out and it's fine. And I think there's no driver issue as this happens randomly. A client who gets kicked out 1st time if tries the 2nd or 3 rd time following the same steps and same form, can successfully gets the job done.
Have any of you had faced similar issue. If you have any solutions or ideas that would be a great help to me.

Updates: Just found out that this issue rises only to the clients using Wyse terminals. Has anyone had any issue using Adobe forms and Wyse terminals?

Adobe form issue

hi all,
i have a issue:
in CS03 we give a print list of materials which is called painting list. its printed thru a script actually it is a copy of standard copy of adobe form. which was copied from adobe form to script and done development, now the issue is its printing only 1 page. its not printing rest of the pages. here the process of printing is kind of trickey,
from sapscript only data is passed using some control characters, and in the adobe layout it prints form correctly, after giving the print option from co03 if i go to sp01 and see the preview the format is as follows:

and when i print this form i get print out in nice format as it should come. now the problem is if i have more than 1 page im unable to print rest of the pages.

Adobe form issue in quality

Hi,
I have made few changes in HCM forms and processes mainly in the Adobe form script and in fieldname display (say changed from Emp Name to Employee Name in the form) but when I move the changes to quality to test it in portal, no changes are reflected.
The changes are available in quality system. I am able to view the script and form changes in HRASR_DT forms in quality (backend SFP/ through HRASR_DT). But when I open the form in portal using Start Process it does not show the new changes whereas it is still showing some old form.
I am not sure whether this is due to any buffer issue or not. When I import a new Transport Request to quality, it throws an ADS error when I try to open the form through "Start Process" in portal and the next time it opens form without new changes.
Please help me !!!

Hi Christopher... Thank you so much for your reply. First of all thanks for all the blogs you have posted on HCM Processes and Forms...that's saving me till today and learnt a lot from your posts.
1. Yes I too felt that it should have been caching issue and I have raised it to the basis team, but yet to get a reply.
2. First thing is, I changed the script. I kept few pop up messages to test the script and then I removed it and transported again to quality, But still the pop up message were there even though there is no script. I checked in the xml source too and there is no script for pop up message.
Then to make sure, whether this is any script issue or not, I changed field label and even that did not reflect in quality.
Yes, I know this is pretty funny, we don't have test data in development, so we always do the changes in DEV and move to QA for testing.

Adobe form Issue in transaction PR05

Hi,
We have a requirement to change the standard Adobe form "PTRV_EXPENSE_FORM" of transacation PR05. We need to hide the text 'Simulation' from the output. I could change the setting of 'Simulation' subform. But after activation the same appears again. Please suggest what is to be done.

Offline Adobe Form Issue

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to add few fields in my offline adobe form (ZCI Layout) which is getting called from webdynpro abap (via UI element "FileDownload").
The new fields has been added in the context node of WebDynpro and the population logic is all written in the appropriate method. Now the same needs to be added in the Adobe form as well.
So can you please help me with how to update the XML interface for the Adobe form.
I have already refreshed DataView but its not working.

Please specify when the error occurs. According to my experience, the problem can be that the transformation (XML data --> ABAP variable) has found some unexpected character. If my guess is right you need to debug this trasnformation and remove the unwanted character before the transformation starts.

Adobe form issues

I am trying to input information in an adobe form that is supposed to be enabled but even though it shows a purple bar for each input section it will not allow me to type anything. The only additional option Adobe gives me is to open it in Adobe Vista. When I do this it allows some input but it is all over the place. If the form is in a different version of Adobe than I have installed do I need to install the older version in order to get it to work? Any info is appreciated.

I have Copy Standard Adobe Form and used it with the logo and minor adjustment . when i see it in preview it doesn't show any fields , but when i call it and data come on the page it shows all the field properly.
How can i set fields invisible with out data in adobe forms in design mode

it is not possible to work on Adobe forms on u r local PC..u need to install Adobe LifeCycle designer which is licensed software.u can download from some portals,but u cant work properly.

Adobe form -- Issue in Displaying Dynamic text along with Static text

I am having an issue when i am displaying a dynamic text along with static text in adobeforms.
The dynamic text is slightly coming down and not aligned with the static text. i can see half row it is coming down.
how to align both texts to be printed in same format.

Hi,
Select both dynamic and static text in the layout. Goto Object palette -> Layout. Give values to X,Y coordinates and Height & Width. Anchor properly and specify margins as well.
Select both dynamic and static text in the layout. Right click on it and goto palettes -> Paragraph. It gives you the text alignment options. Align the text and give similar font and size.

How to avoid overlapping of Table on another table in Adobe Form

Hi Experts ,
Can anyone tell me how to do this scenario,When I am inserting 3 flowable tables in Adobe form ,issue is one form is overlapping over another, All the internal tables has 10 records minimum. Requirement is after one table is printed Next table should be start printing without overlapping on next further table... Please let me know How to avoid overlapping of table on another table.Advance thanks.

Put your table in subform. (one for each)
And than add one more subform and include all 3 table's subforms in single subforms.
All subforms should be flowed.

Issue with Adobe forms in HCM P&F

Hi Friends,
We are using HCM Processes and Forms with Workflow. When the Manager starts the processes from MSS by opening the Adobe form we are getting 3 scroll bars. For this we applied the note 1143512. Even After applying this note the Manager gets 3 scroll bars but when the HR Administrator starts any process he can see only 2 scroll bars. What could be the issue. Is there anywhere we need to pass the Initiator?
Also after applying that note the size of the Adobe form became small. we tried changing the HRAS_PROCESS iView Height Type to FULL_PAGE. Still its not working. Please advice if there is any note available for this.

This has been answered in this forum many times and I believe someone (Brian?) posted a blog about it. PLEASE SEARCH.
As for what you are seeing....for MSS/ESS, the "form app" is actually running INSIDE another "window"....that's why it is smaller than when an HR Admin runs it.
Also, for the Adobe size fix, make sure you user params are set correctly.
Please search and find the blog about the 3 scrollbars....that will help you.

ADOBE Form(Corporate Code of Conduct) Performance Issue

BP_ERP5MSS: 1.0 SP10
We are trying to use the ESS service Corporate Code of Conduct. This service fetches an Adobe interactive form(SECC). On trying to execute the service, the said adobe form opens after a very long time..close to 45 seconds and after that the system also hangs up.
Could you please share some inputs on rectifying this issue.

Performance issue with Adobe forms

Dear SAP Experts,
We have the following issue/requirement from our client. The client is on SAP ECC 6.0 - production environment.
The client is highlighting performance issue while accessing the adobe forms for HR and FI business process ( both static and interactive ).
                Examples are
    FI – Invoice Approvals
                HR – Job Salary Change
The client is asking us to provide best practices surrounding:
1.       How to improve the performance of the adobe forms while accessing in SAP.
2.       Is there any other technology which we can use in SAP to replace the adobe forms which has better performance factor.
3.       Are there solutions such as webdynpro floor plan manager, UI Fiori which can be alternately used?

Hello Priya,
     Adobe forms are easy to develop and much more comfortable than SAP Scripts and Smartforms. Initially they are a bit difficult but once you have your hands on, they are the most simplest things in ABAP.
Performance in Adobe forms is a mix of both fine tuning the Layout as well as back end coding.
Performance in Adobe forms cannot be done overnight. A lot of care has to be taken during the initial stage of development.
As far as my experience is concerned, please consider the below points while developing SAP Adobe forms.
1) Avoid Scripting (Javascript/Formcalc) as much as possible inside the form. It drastically reduces the performance and makes the form to execute slower. If you still want to use scripting(which cannot be avoided for some requirements), use Formcalc since it is comparatively faster than JavaScript.
2) Try to avoid the coding inside the Form Interface. You can always handle the maximum coding in the Driver program and pass it to the form.
3) Use Form Caching.
For forms that have fixed layout, its a good way to increase the performance of form rendering. In the layout, go to Form Properties. Then Click on Defaults tab and select Allow Form Rendering To Be Cached On Server. Then Click OK.
For forms that have flowable or dynamic layout, render the forms on the client side because it improves performance.
Last but not the least, please go through the below post by Otto Gold which is worth a read at least once.

Issue with displaying ADOBE forms using ABAP dynpro

Hi all,
We are trying to display the adobe form in the portal using ABAP dynpro. but as i test the application in R/3 it throws the dump in ST22. if i see that dump it says Uncaught exception in ADS, forms are not interactive, data can be provided on interactive forms only. But if we try the same aplication using Java dynpro it runs successfully.
What can be the issue, is there any problem with ADS configuration.
Its urgent. Please provide some inputs.
