Adobe Media Encoder Does Not Get out of wait state

Processor: Intel Core(TM)2 Quad CPU queue 6600 At 2.40 GH Z
Memory:  8.00 GB
System Type:     64 – bit Operating System
Operating System:      Microsoft System 7 Ultra
When transferring a 1 min. 11 second video from Adobe Premier Pro 5.5 to Adobe Media Encoder 5.5, the file sits in the Media Encoder for hours in the wait state and never completes.
All my Adobe software is up-to-date. How can I remedy this problem?

The status "Waiting" indicates that the job is ready to be encoded. As of CS5.5, AME by default does not start processing the Queue automatically. Instead, it waits for you to start encoding by clicking the Start Queue button in the upper right corner of the window--it looks like the Play button on a media player or editing app. Watch folders are an exception to this rule: jobs that come in via watched folders start automatically by default.
You have the option of having AME start encoding automatically. To enable this, check the "Start queue automatically when idle for <n.n> minutes" and set the desired wait period.

  • Adobe Media Encoder does not encode

The only way I can get Media Encoder to work with Premiere is to export directly in Premiere first to a file, and then take that file into Media Encoder. When exporting from Premiere, Media Encoder acts like it is working, but never encodes anything. It shows elapsed time that continues to count up, but never shows any remaining time and never shows any video in the output preview. It doesn't seem to matter what the encode codec is. (What I'm trying to encode to is MP4).
    Please advise.

  • Adobe Media Encoder does not start queue

I work with premiere 6  version 6.0.5, windows xp, always worked since this week, AME :doesn.t start the queue. after 2 minutes working you can hear the sheep sound and the report says: unknown error, unable to locate or read original file. I updated everything was available, reinstalled the suite (premiere and encore 6), it's still not working.
Do you have any idea about the problem?
    thank you

  • Adobe Media Encoder is not installed, but it is

So I just bought Creative Cloud and have just started to try to figure out how to use After Effects today.
I have imported a movie and added some text animations, and I am trying to export the video to the Media Encoder but I keep getting the following error.
AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLInkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.apps . ( 5027 :: 12 )
After I click "OK" I get the next message:
AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder. ( 5027 :: 12 )
So I really don't know what do because I have just started using After Effects but I would like some input on how to fix it because I would be able to like to export a video at some point.
The Render Engine is installed but whenever I try to open it nothing happens but After Effects opens again. At one point I had four After Effects open at once and didn't realize it.
If it matters, I did install the CUDA plugin.
So if anyone could give me some information or support on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Simply go to your Creative Cloud app and install the Media Encoder.

  • CS6: Premiere exports MXF Op1a (mpeg based) but Media Encoder does not.

As a company we use several local machines with a full installation of CS6.
Premiere Pro exports in our broadcast format (MXF Op1a - mpeg based - Long GOP - 50Mb - Top Field First - etc...) still Media Encoder does not.
They we both installed in the same procedure, full installation of CS6. MXF presets are present on both directories (Premiere and Media Encoder).
ME simply doesn't recognize "any know exporters" even if I force a preset, when it comes to MXF.
We have to import every single video into Premiere to export as MXF. It's difficult to create an effective workflow this way.
Any thoughts on why is this happening?
    NOTE:
    - Updated twice all machines - first to 6.0.3, now to 6.0.5 = no result
    - Copied presets from a working trial installation = no result
    - Microsoft based OS core i7 with 12Gb RAM, 3Tb HD and Nvidia Quadro 4000
    Regards, RicardoM

I've read a lot of suggestions towards similar issues. None worked.
    - installed codec packs incluiding different mpeg variations = no result
    - copied /common preset files from premiere to AME = no result
    - copied and replaced the full directory of AME from another working AME (with MXF exporter) = no result
    - re-installed CS6 = no result
    - updated CS6 twice = no result
    - added MXF Preset zip file available in the official Adobe support (although it refers to mac presets) = no matter... no result
I really don't know what else to do.
It's difficult to accept suggestions like "format c and start over" cause of the impact on the production room, so I really need more options other than the extreme ones...
    Any ideia Jim Simon?
    Thanks in advance!
BTW: Must add that in all processes above, MXF exporting was allways possible in Premiere, just not in AME.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5 not encoding

  • Adobe Media Encoder can´t render out AE Ray-Trace Composition

    Hey,
AME can´t render out my composition (or sequence if i include the comp in a PP sequence) which includes some 3D stuff.
I am able to render it out in AE in a few minutes, preview it easily in AE and even in PP but i´m not able to render it out in AME or PP.
AME says it would take like 10+ Hours to render it and doesn´t come to an end.
I tried multiple encoding settings but nothing worked.
Also i checked, that cuda rendering is enabled in all my Adobe programs, but nothing helped...

    Thanks for helping,

It raises another question: what settings do I need to encode the comp in 720p resolution without taking up lots of space?
Well, it depends on whether you need a production master (something for broadcast, for example, or to use as a source for other encoding tasks) or if you want a version for distribution. If it's the former, there's nothing wrong with "lots of space" - A Quicktime file with PNG or Animation codec is a good idea, but it will take a lot of space. If it's the latter, H264 is perfect but there's no built-in preset to take 720 material to the web.
    You could do this:
    * Pick the generic H264 template. You'll see that it will give an error if you attempt to render, because the default setting uses an H264 profile/level which doesn't let you use HD resolutions.
    * In the H264 video options, set the "Profile" menu to "Main" and "Level" to 4.0. That will keep it compatible to Quicktime and Flash player, while allowing larger frame sizes and higher bit rates.
    * Set Target Bitrate to 5-8 Mbps and Maximum Bitrate to 9-10 Mbps if you're targetting web delivery. That's a bit over what Apple uses for 720p content on the Apple TV, for example.
The H264 original preset will instruct you in the comment field to stretch to 640x480 in Output Module. There's no need, since you are using a profile/level combination which allows higher frame sizes.

  • Media Encoder does NOT deinterlace properly

If you export a DV-based sequence (29.97 LFF) with graphics and text in it, the video does not deinterlace properly.
This applies to AT LEAST WMV v9 and FLV VP6.
With WMV, it deinterlaces with TFF order, resulting in a very blurry, but smooth image. This is NOT what CS3 did. It deinterlaced properly.
With FLV, it treats the video as progressive and creates stairstepped lines, even though the rendered previews in DV format look pristine and razor sharp.
The only solution for a web-based export that looks nice is to use F4V (the new flash video) and set the H.264 to process "Lower" field priority. My problem is our company systems for employees can't handle F4V yet. (If you set F4V to "Upper, it processes and looks like WMV, and setting to "Progressive" looks like the FLV above)
Any suggestions or work-arounds that don't require exporting a DV video, opening Virtualdub to flip field order and then using Media Encoder?

Jeff, you've got a point. CS3 didn't do GREAT. I tended to use the old 2003 Microsoft WMV encoder as well. But, the Media Encoder in CS3 at least allowed me the turn on or off the "deinterlace" feature when I was converting from DV to WMV. The option to turn it on or off was on the left, not in the codec settings. It was next to the crop controls. If I turned it on, then when I wanted to turn a 720X480 DV AVI into a 640X480 WMV, the fields got blended, but at least I kept all the detail of eyes, letters, etc. and only the motion got blended. If I left the deinterlace turned off, then the fields stayed and you got a 640X480 WMV that looked like it had jagged edges because both fields got encoded "as is" with no loss or dopping."
The new one does give me the option of turning "interlacing" on or off, but off blurs everything vertically, even when I'm not resizing height. So eyes become blurs and sharp serif fonts become these blurred rounded things. The processing shouold follow the F4V/H.264 model where field order determines deinterlacing order.
I prefer not to use AviSynth or Virtualdub, except when absolutely necessary. I'm trying to have a workflow that other media employees (who only know Adobe) can follow without asking me every 5 minutes. there are 4 of us who do video, but I'm the only one who has a serious knowledge base. The others are cameramen or Flash developers who cross trained.

  • Media Encoder does not use updated After Effects files

    Hi,
I am working on a project using the new After Effects CC and Media Encoder. In previous versions (CS6) if I updated a file in After Effects, saved it and brought it back into Media Encoder the new rendered file would be fine.
Now it seems that I have to quit Media Encoder in order to get the refreshed composition from After Effects into the render queue, otherwise it just re-renders whatever the last version was.
    Any thoughts?

Nothing to fix because nothing is broken. The programs wil ltake what they need and not beyond that or more to the point, what their internal infrastructure allows them to use. Many encoding tasks require strict linear processing as do many effects in AE, which severely limits the ability to use multiple cores/ processors no matter what. Furthermore things like linear file access in clip based formats would furtehr compound the issue. And finally, naturally it matters a lot what's going on in your projects. If your footage loads slowly, move it to a faster disk. if it's compressed, uncompress/ convert it. If you use slow effects, substitute them with faster commercial third-party plug-ins. if you render to clips, redner to image sequences. The list for potential optimization could go on and on, but suffice it to say that none of this involves just pushing a magic button or checking a specific option. you need to learn these things and tweak them based on experience.
