  • Re: Windows message on Adobe Media Player.Ink

Please forgive if this is the wrong Forum but I am having a difficulty accessing a correct one!!
Although using Adobe Reader, etc I am getting a popup window stating "The drive or Network connection that the shortcut 'Adobe Media Player.Ink ' refers to is unavailable.Make sure the disk is properly inserted or the network server is available.'
I have no such disk.No shortcut and I cannot delete the message on screen.
    What is the solution ?
Also, I searched my files. There are 100+ ADOBE file/folders including some referring to foreign countries (Korea, etc.) Do i need to keep these in my Folder record ?
I would appreciate your help. Ed Culley

IMHO, Adobe Media Player is one app that nobody in adobe responds to and at the moment is pretty useless. Whenever I install my adobe apps, I just uncheck Adobe Media Player. It's as useful and a mosquito.

  • How can I change the port for Adobe Media Player?

After instaling Adobe Media Player I lost my IIS. AMP has hijacked my port 80. Now how could I alter configuration so that AMP will use a different port.
I have many programs configured for Port 80 and I dont want to go and change all of the hardcoded ports in Javascript and CSS files.

These tools you are talking about, did you configure the tnsnames for them?
If you plan to change the default listening port, you need to modify the listener.ora file under $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
After 9i, Oracle has service registration
A feature by which the PMON process automatically registers information with a listener. Because this information is registered with the listener, the listener.ora file does not need to be configured with this static information.
You can try to run one listener, see if both instances can register themselves in even they are different versions.

  • Adobe Media Player does not show day 5

On my computer, the Adobe Media Player does not show day 5. Shows days 1 through 4.
Also on Day 4, trying to view the video "Create States and How to bind them"
I get a "corrupt file" error when trying to watch using the Adobe Media Player...
Also will someone please give a clear statement how to do a download of the files so
we can watch them off line.  This still isn't clear to me.
I don't know what Craig is talking about below: How does that relate to downloading the
    files.
The new instructions and feed links are now live on the Flex in a Week video training home page:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/videotraining/
    Please try them out!

  • Adobe Media Player bug, 2 years on.

I note on the Adobe Develop site for Flex tutorials, the company states:
Want to view Flex in a Week videos in offline mode? Follow these steps:
    Install Adobe Media Player.
Click the My Favorites menu at the top.
Click Add RSS Feed at the bottom.
Copy and paste this URL: http://sessions.adobe.com/FlexInAWeek/feed.xml
I complete the above steps, then download a selection of the videos to view offline.
I go have a coffee and come back.  The videos have disappeared.
I repeat the download process, after 30 minutes the videos disappear.
I repeat the download process, after 1 hour, all but two of the videos disappear. The last two disappear 30 minutes later.
I repeat the download process but this time do a copy of the cache folder in
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Media Player\Local Store\cache
When the application has deleted the files, I can open my copy of the cache folder and double click to watch the original flv.
I now realise that this problem has been reported since 2007 but Adobe continues to re-issue versions of this player with the same stupid behaviour and they do not comment on this behaviour. They also  continue to offer the player for viewing their published videos offline despite the fact that half way through viewing one video the next episodes may disappear in the interim?
    Why?
I now use a third party product to download and save the above videos for VIEWING OFFLINE as Adobe state. Howeve I cannot use the Adobe Media Player to view ANY of their own content, while this issue remains.

IMHO, Adobe Media Player is one app that nobody in adobe responds to and at the moment is pretty useless. Whenever I install my adobe apps, I just uncheck Adobe Media Player. It's as useful and a mosquito.

  • Adobe Media Player Corrupted? Won't uninstall or update.

Windows XP, Adobe Media Player 1.1. I try to uninstall through the control panel and get a dialog box with unreadable characters, then an error message pops up. After clicking OK the uninstaller backs out and closes.(http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/5913/adb1.jpg).
I try to replace and uninstall through Adobe Media Player website (http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/). Both Replace and Uninstall fail and results in an error (http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2964/adb2.jpg).
Uninstall and Replace result in: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author." (http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1862/adb3.jpg)

I have the exact same issue - but the funny thing is that it is only on my iMac - my MacBook Pro is fine and they both have 10.7.2 and the same latest Flash Player, so I think it might be a hardware problem to be honest.
Ever since upgrading to Lion my iMac has been that way - my MacBook Pro had the problem with the first update from Adobe but after the second update of the Flash Player everything is fine on the MacBook Pro.
How old is you MacBook Pro?

  • How to make Adobe Media Player work online?

    Hello,
I have Adobe Media Player. When I launched before, I was able to see the content. Nowadays, it showing just blank screen saying "You must be online to view this content" Although JavaScripts already enabled on my safari web browser and my personal firewall is On.
p.s firewall was always On When I was able to see adobe media player content!
I would like to know if anyone tell me how to make it online?
    Thank you.

The flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use.

  • Adobe media player does not have content after install.

I just got into school for web development and they sent the cs5 master suite, adobe media player came with it. After installing it and logging in, I went to the adobe tv site and seen a slew of tutorials that I would love to use with adobe media player. Everything I do will not add the videos, adding the rss feed only says its not available and there is nothing in it at all. I am very disappointed in this. Hopefully I am doing something wrong.
    Please advise

  • Uninstalling Adobe Media Player

I just loaded Adobe Media Player, believing it was an update or enhanced video flash player for web browsers for sites such as Youtube. Anyway, it appears to be just a collection of shows - more distractions and advertising - who needs that? Anyway, the program behaves very badly in that it loads itself on system start-up without authority. And then, there is no apparent way to uninstall it. Shame on you!! How do I get this piece of Adobe sh*t off of my computer?

    "DITTO".
JUST ABOUT EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH ADOBE MEDIA PLAYER (AMP) AND OTHER RELATED PRODUCTS!
    INSTALLATION ERRORS!
    UNINSTALL ERRORS!
SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY GONE AMUCK AND GOOFY WITH THIS OUTFIT.
IT IS JUST THE LOUSIEST AND SHABBIEST WAY THE ADOBE MAKES ITS SHAMEFULLY LOW QUALITY (SOFTWARE???) PRODUCTS.
MOST EVERYTHING, ALMOST NEVER WORK RIGHT.
JUST A TERRIBLE WASTE OF EVERYONE'S TIME AND EFFORTS.
ADOBE SEEMS TO HAVE BECOME JUST ANOTHER VENUE PUSHER FOR INTERNET SPAM AD-PUSHERS.
    SAD.
    VERY SAD.
I AM GOING TO DE-INSTALL EVERY DAMNED ADOBE SHABBY SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
    TOO MUCH HASSEL.
TOO MUCH WASTE OF EVERYONE'S TIME AND EFFORTS.
    ** NOTE **
FIND OTHER RELIABLE SOFTWARE FIRMS THAT HAVE DEVELOPED *.FLV FILE PLAYERS -- FOR THE TIME BEING -- UNTIL ALL *.FLV FILES HAVE BEEN CONVERTED TO *.MWV OR SOMETHING THAT WORKS FLAWLESSLY.
THE *.FLV FILES SHOULD BE BANNED FROM ALL OF THE INTERNET WEBSITES AS UNSTABLE AND SHABBY.
AND SAY GOODBYE TO ALL SHABBY, LOUSY, ROTTEN ADOBE PRODUCTS.
IT IS QUITE EVIDENT THAT LAZY, DEAF, DUMB, BLIND FOLKS (WITH PANTS AROUND THE ANKLES) AT THIS SHABBY OUTFIT ARE NOT GOING TO WORK HARD ENOUGH TO EVER PRODUCE QUALITY PRODUCTS.
SO, SAY GOODBYE TO IT AND ITS SHABBY PRODUCTS AND FIND ALTERNATE RELIABLE, QUALITY SOURCES THAT MEET OUR, THE CUSTOMERS, NEEDS.
IF YOU READ THIS OUTFIT'S GOOFY LICENSING TEXT, IT CLEARLY STATES THAT: ". . . IT DOES NOT WARRANTY THE OPERABILITY, OR MERCHANTABILITY, FOR ANY INTENDED PURPOSES . . .".
MEANING, EVEN THIS OUTFIT ITSELF DOESN'T BELIEVE IN THE QUALITY OR PERFORMANCE OF ITS OWN SHABBEY PRODUCTS.
    IMAGINE THAT, FOLKS.
WHAT OTHER PROOF ANYONE NEEDS THAT THIS OUTFIT MAKES THINGS THAT YOU THINK WOULD WORK.
    WHAT A JOKE.
    ACTIONS:
    WEB SEARCH FOR:
    *.FLV PLAYERS, OTHER THAN ADOBE.
    *.FLV FILE CONVERTERS.
    WHAT A GOOFUS.

  • ...insidious ADOBE Media Player !

Tell me I dont need the insidious ADOBE Media Player on my NLE system...before I uninstall it. (Hopefully I actually can un-install it without breaking anything?)
Only reason I can imagine keeping it is to play Flash Files - but surely I can get a standalone player for that.

    Craig,
There are a couple of options for local FLV playback. (As an aside, I think AMP is a very good FLV/F4V player, but agree that it's not the best thing to have on a professional workstation).
    One option is
Media Player Classic. It will play back FLVs, as well as a lot of other formats. The best part about it is that you don't actually "install" it--it simply is an executable with all the decoding libraries built in. It's lightweight, fast, and very customizable.
    Another option is the
FLV Player that KL linked to above. This used to be my go-to FLV playback app, but I've had issues with it playing back "stuttered"... videos seem to drop a lot of frames, no matter what computer I'm playing back on. This doesn't happen in other FLV players. It could just be my configuration or something, though.
My new, current favorite player is the
JW Desktop Player. It's from the same guy/group that releases the JW FLV Player for online playback; this is a lightweight AIR app that lets you play back FLV, MP4, as well as the "new" F4V container format on the desktop.
All of them are free, and all load and playback MUCH quicker than AMP, without the TV watching component of the player.

  • Adobe Media Player, discontinued?!

When I enter the players homepage at http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/ I see the following statement:
"Effective September 16, 2010, Adobe® Media Player software will no  longer be available for download from the Adobe TV website.  In  addition, as of November 25, 2010, Adobe Media Player will no longer be  available for download from Adobe.com.  Thank you to both our viewers  and our content partners for your support of this product."
Does anyone with insight have a comment on that message.

  • Adobe Media Player disappeared

    Hi
I have recently transferred my files to a new Windows XP computer and uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Air and Adobe Media Player. I recently also downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 3. My computer shows that AMP is installed but when I click on it to play a file nothing happens. It does not open. Any ideas why I can launch it?

  • Adobe Media Player failure solved

Hi. I got this problem a few days ago. And today I´ve discovered why was the problem being caused. I had installed DivX on my laptop and that was causing a trouble betwenn Adobe Media Player and DivX Reproductor Video. That was a kind of conflict between. I hope this can help some of you. May be another aplication that you have installed recently it's causing this problem on your laptops and PC's. Just uninstalled that aplications and that's solved.
