Adobe Photoshop Album starter edition crashes every time I sync. It worked fine the first time, but now it crashes and has to close. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?
This phone is about one month old.
Have you ever had all 7 of them synced before? Are these ringtones you made yourself? Is there a chance they could exceed 30 seconds in length? Is there a chance you have moved the original file location on the computer? May need the answers to a couple more questions to try and determine an answer.

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 error c0000005
When I try to get pictures from my iphone via Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, it has to close with error C0000005.
I'm disappointed that I have to use 3rd party software to get photos on and off my iphone. I thought Apple made products that were easy to use. Just seems like the same crap from a different manufacturer (can you tell I'm frustrated?). Not to mention all the limitations with the iphone if you actually want to use it for business ....You don't need to use 3rd party software - iPhoto will do it automatically once you set it up.
Connected your iPhone to your computer. iTunes then opens up. Select your iPhone under Devices, in the left column. Then click the Photos tab in the main window. Check the box that says, "Sync photos from:" Then, iPhoto will open every time you sync. You'll have the option to import the Photos from your phone and you'll be able to chose if the original stays on your phone or is deleted. -
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition vs. Picasa?

I have just installed Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 and I'm wondering about a few things. Bear with me here...
1. I use Piccasa strictly as a picture-viewer program. I'm not 100% happy with it, could anybody pursuade me and my curious friend, why I should switch to Album Starter? I would like that.
2. What I DO like about Piccasa is that it just view my pictures and do not copy them into a special piccasa-format. I have several file-formats in my picture-folder and I would like Album Starter to view all of them without changing the original location of the file, nor copy it, taking up a lot of disk-space.
3. Another thing I like about Picasa is that if I have changed, added or removed a picture in the original file-location it updates those changes when I launch the program.
4. I understand that there are several ways to view your photos. But can you also view and navigate your pictures through folders while you are in Album Starter? Because thats one thing I hate about Picasa, it just place all my folders on the side of the page, meaning it takes them out of their original folder and destroys the dept-folder-system I have made.
5. Does Album Starter have a nice search function?
If anyone could take the time to answer these very bad formulated questions, I would be very grateful.
- C.C.1) PSA SE has better organizing tools [tags/collections] than Picassa. There is also a clear growth path if you want something more powerful [Photoshop Elements Organizer is compatible].
2) With PSA SE you keep your image files anywhere you want.
3) PSA SE has limitations in this area. You are encouraged to move files about from within the program.
4) I'm not sure that you'd prefer PSA SE in this respect. You are really encouraged not to think in terms of folders, as that is not a way to organize a large collection of images [say much more than 100].
5) It has various ways to search - what are you after? Using tagging intelligently means you very rarely need to search. [I have use this technology for 3 years and only used Search a handful of time.] -
Tried to use adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0 today and tell me to register
It tells me to register and i will get an email with a 'unlock' code shortly.
I open the email, it says' adobe photoshop album starter edition is no longer avaiable and that i should go to their website and find something else appropriate! It is a common misconception that Starter Edition 'stores', or copies, your files into it. But the program does not move or copy files at all, rather it scans your system's My Pictures directory, and generates miniature versions of your pictures (called thumbnails) so that you can browse a 'flat' list of thumbnails of your photos, overcoming the inconvenience of having to go into separate folders in Windows Explorer to have to find files.The thumbnails, as well as any tags, and Albums that you create in Starter Edition are all stored in the Photoshop Album catalog file, separate from your pictures, and your pictures remain where you originally copied them to your computer.
If you use Photoshop Album to subsequently download files from a digital camera or scanner, the default location where the program will create those files would be in the My Pictures>Digital Camera Photos folder. But if you do NOT use Photoshop Album Starter edition to download files from your camera, then you will find that folder empty.
The thumbnails in the Starter Edition catalog will exist, even if you decide to move or delete the original photos that were added to the program. This will cause files in the Photoshop Album catalog to become 'disconnected' from the original photos. To reconnect the files, you can use the File>Reconnect Missing files command to see if the program can locate the original files in a new location, and once again re-link the catalog thumbnails to the files they once referenced.
Since Photoshop Album has been discontinued, I recommend that folks find an alternative solution. One alternative that will preserve most of what you've created in Starter Edition is the Photoshop Elements 8 trial. Install that, and it will automatically convert the Photoshop Album catalog to a current format, and the program will not time out, as Starter Edition did. If you want to purchase more Editing power, you can also choose to purchase the full program, but it's not required.
If you are like many who have come to this forum wondering how you can get to your photos, now that the program has become locked or expired, don't worry; your photos have never been moved by Photoshop Album; they remain wherever you intially put them, on your hard drive. To get to them, you can navigate your file system using Windows Explorer. They are typically in your My Documents>My Pictures folder. Two days ago I introduced photos of my baby into my PC and automatically went into the programm Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Then they were deleted of my photo camera. Then I wanted to access to the photos in the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 but I read that since the end of Juny we need a decodification code and that now it is not availabel. How to transfer metadata (tags etc) from Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 to A P Elements 8
I have just bought the Adobe Elements 8. I was told that this product was the upgrade product from the trial version of Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Can't find a clear solution in this forum of how to transfer the metadata to the Adobe Elements 8 and continue the indexing with the latest product. Hopefully somebody can help.

downloading PSE5 from here:

PSE5 should be able to find your catalog and you can convert it into PSE5.

adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0 keeps shutting down when I try to import photos from my iphone 4 - it works fine with my wife's iphone 3! Any suggestions?

AOL 10 as default email client

When setting pref for email client within Adobe PSE, AOL is not listed as an email option. I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, and unlocked, reinstalled AOL 10 (desktop) and reset it as the default email client. The default is working, as mailto: links in browsers open up AOL Desktop, and the email app listed at the top of the <START> button is AOL. How can I set it as an email client in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2? Is there some registry hack? Re 3.2 Photoshop. After I had some repair done to my computer, the photos in my album have the restricted little red square at the bottom of each photo. When I try to open the photo to fix or print a message box comes on that nothing can be done because of overide problem. In fact it closes the photoshop immediately because of this error. Is there anything I can do? - if I search the Browse button I get absolutely no connection or a march. This is most frustrating. I tried calling tech assistance, they could not help me infact hung up on me. What sort of helpfull assistance is that? Should there be any helpfull suggestions, other than uninstalling (Have done that) and reinstalling (done that) nothing seems to work. I cannot even copy those photos to a disk, the photoshop closes down immediately. Help. Donna -

I just purchased a SIREN 7" digital picture frame. The pictures have to be 620 X. 300 pixels to fill the full 7" frame. Convert catalog from Adobe Photoshop Album starter edition 3.0 to 3.2

I am using Adobe Photoshop Album starter edition 3.0 for years.
1.- I have upgraded to 3.2 now, but I don't know how to convert the catalog from the old version to the new version. Where is this documented?
2.- By default Adobe installs the catalog file on c:\documents and settings\all users\... - I have now installed adobe on another drive, D. But still the catalog is by default saved under c:\documents and settings\all users\... I need to have it on another location. How can I change the catalog file location?

I still work with the old fashioned adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0. I have had a virgin.net e-mail address for years but have recently changed to hotmail.co.uk.
However when I try and share a photograph from my adobe album it automatically reverts to outlook express. I can't send from there as my hotmail account isnt configured to outlook express therefore how do I send photos using my hotmail account?
Can anyone help please, I am not technically minded

Since this forum is the Photoshop forum and has nothing to do with Photoshop Album Starter Edition, and since both Photoshop Album Starter Edition and Outlook Express are discontinued programs, you will have to be very lucky to find someone who can help you here.
For 1) you might try asking in the Photoshop Album Starter Edition forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/ps_album_starter?view=discussions. There isn't much traffic there, but you may be lucky.
For 2) you might try searching the Internet for instructions on how to use Outlook Express with Hotmail. I did a simple search on "Outlook Express Hotmail" and found lots of information.
