Adobe Premiere elements 10 has lost HDV camera in device manager..help

Our Sony V1E camera was recognised in Adobe Premiere Elements and we could capture footage fine.. suddenly the device manager can't see the camera..but ..strangely..it can play and rewind the camera etc etc.. just cannot capture?? waht has gone wrong?? It's connected with firewire.
Help?

All our configs are for Pal HDV 1080i mode in camera and Adobe element project preset is Pal HDV HDV 1080i 25 to match camera.
The elements device manager can shuttle the tape in the camera forward/back etc but cannot capture in the HDV capture mode
If we put the device manager into DV mode it will capture the footage even though the camera is in HDV mode?
Previously the device manager captured the HD footage and recognised the camera itself in the window and suddenly it doesnt recognise the camera in that window and can only capture HDV footage if we go to capture mode for DV camera where it only recognises a Micorsoft DV camera VC generic setting??
That tells me that the port and cable are working perfectly.
Could a setting in Premiere elements be wrong??    DV/HDV device control is selected in preferences. HD anomorphic is also selected.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 8 keeps crashing...need IMMEDIATE help?

I have re-installed multiple times, had our companies IT department re-install the video card and do multiple clean installs to no avail. Any and all help woild be much appreciated.

    All,
Computer specs are as follows: Intel(R) Core(TM) i72960XM CPU @ 2.70GHz    2.70 GHz, Installed memory (RAM) 16.0 GB, 64-bit Operation System, OS - WIndows 7
Windows Updates and Drivers are automatically downloaded to all employees here at my company. The latest nVidia graphics card update was installed yesterday.
Adobe Premiere Elements 8 has been working up until yesterday morning. I was working on a project and the applicaion crashed and has not recovered.
I had all video files loaded to the project, and was about 90% done with the edit. I have been using APE 8 for years now without a hiccup.
Camera specs: Canon HD Vixia HG20, the APE8 project setting are: NTSC-DV- Standard 48kHz. I downloaded the APE8 8.0.1 update that was listed on the opening splash screen.
I can launch the application, it's when I load any project, it starts to lag, then crashes. I wish i could make heads or tails of this crash report I downloaded, then I might be able to fully understand what is happening.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working

I have had APE 9 for about a year and recently bought a new computer.  I re-downloaded it, using the original serial numbers and everything was fine.  I loaded up a video successfully and everything seemed fine.  I have a Sony HDR CX115 camera and use APE to edit the videos.  The new computer runs Windows 7, the older one was XP.  During the editing process, which normally takes a couple of hours, the machine crashed about 30 times and the message above was displayed.  I resorted to saving everying minute or so, and eventually got the job done.  Anyone any ideas?  Have I got one of the settings wrong.  Assume there's no problem about re-using the original software?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0-HDV 1080i-project

Do I get an improvement of a non-HDV-inputfilm if I open it as a HDV 1080i-project and finish it as an HDV 1080i-project compared with the case where I open it as a non-HDV-project?

I have recently completed 9 Export to Tape and Blu-ray Discs using Premiere Elements 4 (using the H.264 and HDV/mpeg-2 codecs) all were broadcast quality as seen on a split screen Sony 1920  x 1080 46 ". Even the non tape based Canon 5D mark II H.264 mov clips incorporated were perhaps slightly better than the Canon HDV Camcorder only because of the superior nature of the 35mm EF IS Lens used. Incidentally I use Premiere Pro to edit and go to Pro Tape but use the mt2 file generated by PP to go to blu-ray disc, it is a simpler process.there appears to be no loss of quality .

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 4-lost transitions and titles

I have been editing a Adobe Pre 4-projects and saved it a couple of times during the last 14 days. Yesterday I moved the whole project file to another disk (external), unfortunately I did not copy and save; I moved it.
Now when I open the project from the external disk, all the transitions and titles are gone. Where have all the transitions and titles gone?

    Hi thanks for the response,
So I had adobe PrE 4.0 and downloaded the free trial version of adobe PrE 10 from the adobe site. I opened my PrE 4.0 project file in the trial version to see how it would look and it looked fine but for some reason PrE 10 is extremley slow on my computer and I have an ok computer, and I am not talking about the playback video was choppy, which it was, the editing process on the timeline was so slow and choppy that it was hard to edit properly. The did not move any files and PrE 10 didn't ask me any questions, I just go on it and opened the project file up from the PrE 4.0 file location. So I got rid of the trial version and went back to PrE 4.0 to get back to work on the same project and when I got there the transitions and titles would not work for that project file, however if I started a new file it would work fine (but I do not wish to start all over), when the video got to the titles in the playback video a red screen with the words media offline in several languages would come up and than go away once the title was supposed to be gone. I have the bad/messed up project file on my flashdrive now too. If we can't get this to fix on 4.0 than maybe you could tell me how to fix the PrE 10 because I got that too just in case, maybe you could tell me how to speed it up because it is unbelievably slow, and I have windows 7 64 bit operating system.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements crashes on export

    Hello,
I am working on a video project in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. My computer is a Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Dell XPS M1530 laptop with the following hardware:
    Toshiba MK3263GSX Disk Drive
    285 GB, 149 GB used
    burst transfer rate: 3 MBps
    5400 RPM
    8 MB cache
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8300
    2.40 GHz
    4.00 GB of RAM
Whenever I try to export my project (which is less than 3 minutes long and contains no more than 2.25 GB of 720p 30fps video), the program crashes. Usually, the progress bar will go about half way before an Adobe message tells me that Premiere is running low on system memory. Not long after that, a Windows message appears telling me that "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" and it crashes to the desktop. This has occured without fail perhaps 50 times in all my tries to get this to save.
As this project has progressed and become larger and larger, it has become more and more difficult to export. At first, there were no problems. Then, I had to start restarting the program or my computer immediately before exporting. After making a few more changes and additions, I have been entirely unable to export succesfully.
I have set my export settings at far lower levels than would be acceptable for this project, but the program still crashes. I was most recently trying to save the file as an .mpg with the NSTC Widescreen DVD settings. Trying to save in other file formats and at other settings has not been succesful.
I do realize that this is probably a commonly asked question, so I apoligize for bringing it up again. I have searched for information on this topic and have tried several suggestions, including changing the virtual memory and cleaning up my hard drive.
Is my computer just too weak to export this project? Would a more recent program fix my problem? Are there any techniques or suggestions I should try?
Thank you very much for your help.

  • I have adobe premiere elements 10 and I am having some problems with it please help

So here are the problems I'm having with Adobe Premiere Elements 10:
    1. Transitions will not load. The word loading pops up and it won't come up.
    2. The videos won't play smoothly. When I press play it skipps in a way it won't play smooth which makes it really hard to edit.
    3. Keeps closing out on me. It will have a thing that pops up that says "Adobe premiere elements has stopped working and closes out of the program. It does it constantly.
Please help me I don't know what is wrong with it.

The first two issues sound like a video driver problem.
What is the make/model of your video card/chip?
What is the installed video driver number and date?
For the last issue, it could be many things, including the video driver. I'd look over this ARTICLE, and if there is nothing in the first part, then move on to tuning up the OS an computer in the second part. That would probably be a good time to post the full specs. of your computer, and also both your Project and Source footage. Finally, part three covers many troubleshooting tips, and furnishes many links.
    Good luck,

  • How to remove a timestamp with adobe premiere elements 8

How do I remove a time and date stamp on a video with adobe premiere elements 8.

If the camera burns in the date/time stamp, then there is not much that can be done.
If you need to eliminate that, then the best would be to apply the Effect>Motion>Scale, to enlarge the footage, until the date/time stamp is effectively cropped off by the Frame Size. You might want to look into Effect>Motion>Position, to "move" the date/time stamp closer to an edge.
The other method is tedious, and requires ideally Adobe AfterEffects. There, you could use the Clone Tool, to "paint out" the date/time stamp, if there is enough clean background to do so.
A variation on that method would be to Export/Share as a Filmstrip and Import that into Photoshop (if one had Photoshop Extended, there are other formats, that would work too), and then Frame by Frame, use the Clone Tool to remove that image.
Though not a way to remove it, you can also replace it with a Title, that occupies the area of the date/time stamp, and just cover it up.
If the camera allows you to turn that "feature" OFF, you would want to do so for newer footage.
Good luck, and sorry for the bad news.

  • Adobe premiere elements 13 can not open avi on my Mac. What can I do?

I just bought adobe premiere elements 13. I hoped that it would help to open an avi on my brand new Mac, which iMovie of course did not open. (That's why I spend the money on premiere!) I got the file from a disc, and I don't know what kind of camera took the pictures. Premiere 13 should open AVI's. What is wrong?

    franks
Premiere Elements 13 Mac should be an .avi import only. But, avi is just a file extension (container/wrapper format), which wraps the video and audio compressions of the file.
Although the program might support a particular video compression and a particular file extension (container/wrapper format), it may not support the combination of a particular combination of video compression with file extension for a file.
What are the properties (video compression et al) of your video file with the file extension of .avi?

videos to Premiere Elements with smooth editing.
Q: VOB files will not make sound on Adobe Premiere Elements

audio track. So, how to deal with VOB video in Adobe Premiere Elements?
Although Adobe claimed that Premiere Elements(7/8/9/10/11/12) offer
native VOB support, there are still some video, audio codec problems
while importing/editing VOB clips in Premiere Elements like the above

    MPEG-2.

My guess is that these are 'Named User' licenses and not Concurrent licenses. That just means that every license has a single user and that users is expected to register. Did they just give you one DVD with the program and then 30 license keys? If so there is probably no way you will get around the registration process.

  • Serial # for Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0?

Hi! I have a T61p and currently I'm trying to reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 that came with the system after a fresh recovery of the harddrive. But the problem I'm having right now is that it asks for the serial number which I cannot find. Could you please let me know where I can find this serial number? Thanks!

You may be able to convert the files using Quicktime Pro ($29 from Apple) -- but that depends on what you want to convert them to!
Is your ultimate plan to burn a BluRay disk or are you ultimately planning to output a standard DVD?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements Help

I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 with Windows 7.  It's worked before, but now every time I try to work on my project a window pops up that says "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" and the programs closes.  Occasionally, a different window pops up that says "Adobe Premiere Elements is low on system memory.  Please save your project and proceed with caution."  Help!

    ajn333
I think that we need to look at those low memory messages. And, we need more details.
    1. Given you have Premiere Elements 4 on Windows 7? Is that 32 bit or 64 bit. Premiere Elements 4 will be a 32 bit application either way with max. supported installed RAM = 4 GB of which 3 GB of RAM or less are available. So, first, how much RAM do you have installed and how much of that is available?
    2. What is your project preset and what are the properties of your source media? Photos, pixel dimensions and how many photos; video, properties for video and audio....total duration of the Timeline. Those video and audio compressions as well as the file extension are important. Are you working with any DV AVI Type 1 video on that Timeline?
    3. How long ago did it work before? And for how long were you working with Premiere Elements 4 without issues?
    4. Have you optimized your computer? Besides the RAM situation, how much free hard drive space do you have? Do you do routine computer maintenance to get rid of pile ups of preview files, conformed audio, and conformed video?
    5. Since the time when things were working until now, any additional programs, codecs, plug-ins, and the like?
    6. What specifically are you doing in the project when you get these low memory messages and/or program and project shut downs?
Are you just opening the project, in the middle of some heavy editing, or other?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
The answers will be in the details.
    Thanks.
