Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crashes on Launch
I have been a Creative Cloud subscriber since July 2012. I have been using Premiere Pro CS6 since I subscribed. Today I tried downloading the recent Premiere Pro CC. Unfortunately, after numerous attempts on my part, it continues to crash on startup. Here is what I have tried so far after researching the issue online and on your support page:
I found the most recent Premiere Pro update and installed that.
I tried updating my NVIDIA graphics card.
I tried disabling my NVIDIA graphics card.
I tried uninstalling Adobe Premiere CC and reinstalling.
I tried logging out of Creative Cloud and re signed in.
I continue to have the same problem with crashing. Below is the error report I receive.

Thank you for your response. I tried what you suggested below (Compatibility Mode Change), and it still crashes as before. I also tried changing it to “Run As Administrator”, and I got the same results.

Adobe premiere pro CS6 crashes whenever I move the timeline
Hi there, my Adobe Premiere pro CS6 crashes when moving the timeline or importing new clips. I have tried several things, I opened up a earlier project to try that and it was fine for a while, but after about 5-10mins of use it hit the same problem and would then always crash whenever I openend it and moved the timeline marker or added a new clip.
Another problem that may or may not be related, is that some clips are broken up into about 6 glitchy squares instead of the actual clip.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.>an AMD 6670 GPU
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
-If Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

Premiere Pro CC crashes on Launch
I just installed (and reinstalled) Premiere Pro CC. When I try to launch, I get to "Loading ImporterQuickTime.prm" and it crashes.
I'm running on a Win 7 Professional SP-1, with an Intel i7 processor and an Nvidia GTX 660 (Driver version: 320.49). The Intel onboard graphics have been disabled in the BIOS. I have 8GB RAM.
To try to fix the problem I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere Pro and Quicktime.
Uninstalling QT and installing older versions
I installed the newest Nvidia driver.
Turning on the Intel driver, updating it, and turning off the Nvidia driver in the BIOS.
Running PP as administrator
Removing the plug-in causing the problem. This led to discovering that the ExportQuickTimeHost.prm and the PlayerMediaCore.prm plug-ins also cause a crash.
Resetting the compatibility of PP to Vista and Win 7 (hoped to trick it)
Deleting the preferences
Signing out of the CC and signing back in by launching Premiere
Nothing has worked.
This is what the Event Viewer kicks at me:

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crash on Splash Screen
My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 is crashing on the splash screen. My Adobe Premiere Pro CC was not crashing until 2014. I am very angry and frustrated this subpar update was forced on us.
I have tried:
Uninstalling and re-installing SEVERAL TIMES
I have tried changing the compatibility issues to windows 7
I have tried running in administration mode
I have started my computer several times
I have tried updating my video drivers
My computer specs:
ASUS G75V gaming laptop
1tb SSD
12g ram
3gb video memory
I have deadlines for clients and this is VERY frustrating!!!!Hey everyone. I'm having the exact same issues. I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it. Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC. Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves. Still no luck. -

Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 crashes on load with project
When I try to load my CS4 projects the application crashes with the error:
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have my hard drive partitioned: C drive for my OS; D drive for my data; and I also have an external hard drive which is H. I installed Adobe Premiere on my D drive and saved all the my project files and data on my external drive H. A couple weeks ago I got a virus and I wiped out my C drive. So, I reinstalled Windows XP. After reinstalling XP and getting my machine back up and running I removed Premiere Pro CS4 from my D drive and installed it on my C:drive. I connected my external drive to my computer and Windows assigned the drive letter F to my external. I launched my project file and it said it could not find my data and it crashed with the above message. I opened my project file in a text editor and I saw that file path was H:\... for all my data so I reassigned the drive back to H hoping that was the reason for the crash. Much to my chagrin it was not as I try opening the project file now and it finds all the files but it still crashes. I'm all out of ideas at this point. Is there a log file that I can look at to try to troubleshoot this any further? Has anyone seen this happen before? Should I reinstall Adobe Premiere Pro? I am under a time crunch here as I need to open this project and make some edits.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
-JeffJeff,
The Page File is MS Windows' "virtual memory." It gets activity, when physical RAM is not available. Especially with video editing, this happens a lot. It can be set via Control>Panel>System. Windows can either dynamically create and size the file, as is necessary, or it can be set to provide the necessary size statically - always the same, and is *usually* set to ~ 2.5x the physical RAM.
With one physical HDD, that is partitioned, you have about 4-5 operations going on at the same time, and your I/O system is basically telling the heads of your HDD to be in different places/platters at this same time. Unfortunately, this is impossible, and one gets system hangs, sluggish performance, crashes or worse.
There are several good threads on suggested HDD setups for NLE work on this forum. I'd step back a level, so you get all Premiere forums, and search for some of these articles. There are a lot of worthwhile suggestions for number, type, connection and configuration of HDD's.
Good luck,
Hunt -

I use windows 7 processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 cp @3.40 GHz Ram: 8 Gb of RAM 64bit Using The onboard Intel Graphics Card>ImageRenderer.dll
That would seem to indicate a problem with your graphic adapter
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Dual video problems - Do you have dual graphics adapters?
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crashes on startup after upgrading to new computer monitors
Hey everybody, I am tech-savvy so go ahead and throw detailed answers at me. I recently updated to Windows 8.1 because Premiere Pro CC (version 7.2.1) crashed on startup in Windows 8. After the update to Win8.1, it worked fine with my old 19in. VGA full-screen monitors. However, after I installed new HD wide-screen monitors yesterday, I opened Premiere Pro and it started up just fine and is stable until it processes a video file. If I'm fast enough, it will successfully import a file from the media browser, but as soon as it "processes" the video in the media browser or the video in the timeline, Windows gives me the error "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has encountered an error and must be shut down". I tried every trick in the book- including changing the monitor refresh rate down from 144Hz to 60Hz, tried using an HDMI cable instead of DVI-D, and tried reinstalling Premiere Pro (restarting the computer at the proper points in the process), and tried setting it to render using no GPU acceleration (Mercury software only). Nothing seems to work. Below are the specs on my computer:
CPU: AMD FX-8120, GPU: Dual AMD HD Radeon 6670's 1GB GDDR3 each outputting to its own monitor via DVI-D Dual Link, Monitors are ASUS VG248QE 24" running 1920x1080p resolution @ 144Hz, 7200RPM Western Digital HDD.I had this same problem on my HP laptop that has two video cards. I had to dissable the Intel 4000 in order to get Premiere CC to function. However, once this one done, it was no longer possible to use the external monitor (even when I closed the lid, it simply would not recognize the external monitor). Thus, each time I'm using Premiere CC then I have to disconnect the monitor and use device managre in Win8.1 to dissable Intel. It's really a huge pain in the arse. Also, I do not have an option to choose to choose a second monitor in Win8 once the Intel is dissabled. I've updated both drivers - so, I guess that's the only solution there is for my laptop. I'd suggest not using this software with a HP laptop that has two graphics cards.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Crashing
I've seen some discussions on this but not on the exact problem I've been having, which is my Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 always crashes when I'm layering either two videos or two audio tracks on top of each other. If I stack two files and then scrub, then it immediately crashes every single time. I've never had a problem with CS5.5 when doing such an operation.
Help!
Canon 7D Footage
1080P 24fps
ESata Externanl HDD
Windows 7 Ultimate
Core i7
12 GB ramI am having a similar issue that I have nailed down to two specific audio tracks. When I play audio on these particular tracks, which have Compressor and Denoise plugins on the track mixer, I get the crash error. Understand, the Compressor and Denoise effects are not on the audio itself. When I move the audio up to the adjacent tracks above, there is no crash or error, but of course, I don't get the effects that I desire.
I solved the problem by right clicking and "Remove Audio Effects..." of which I had a 6 db boost in "Volume". I made up the gain on the Compressor plugin on the track.
FWIW I also get the "Audio filters missing" pop-up when I open the project. This stems from me creating audio presets, applying them to files, and then the preset effects are unable to be recalled when I re-open the project.
I am in Premiere cs6 on a 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i5 iMac running OSX 10.8.2 w/ 4 GB of RAM.
Hope this helps... -
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when making edits
I everyone. I migrated to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (I need to finish a couple of project before I can update the computer to CC and Mac OS 10.8.) and it's been crashing right from the begining. It's a random crash but my impression that it becomes more probable as the projects grow.
It happens whenever I'm editing and I press the shortcut for "overwrite" or "insert". (It also happens when I press the icon or move the clip to the timeline)
The screen message I get is this one:
The log message that I get afterwards goes as follows:
On previous days, I've been able to keep working just by deleting the Media database preview files from Premiere but it's not working anymore.
I'm working with XMF files shot with a Canon C300 synced using premiere to sound files (.wav). It only happens when I try to edit but it doesn't matter if I try to edit sound, sound and image or just image.
What it doesn't make sense is that it says something about "dynamic lynk" and, as far as I know, I'm not using dynamic link at all.
Thanks in advance for your time and wisdom
Jaime From SpainNow, a few updates after a very long night (just in case it might help somebody)
Up until last night, I was saving my Premiere Projects in a Dropbox Folder inside my computer. It was a quick safe way of having a backup copy. Well, it seems that the crash is somehow related. Don't ask me why but once I moved the project file to a regular hard drive (actually a RAID0 where I keep my heavier files) the crashes have stopped.
This morning I went back to the dropbox idea with a new project and -Voilá!- after three hours of work, it crashed again. I moved the file to the RAID disk and no more crashes. My guess is that it is somehow related to the auto-save files that premiere keeps saving. Once it reaches a certain amount (around 20 in my experience) dropbox and Premiere start to do something weird and they crash the software... (It might be related to the software dropbox uses to keep your folders updated and keep backup versions of everything)
I'll run a few tests next week trying to keep the Auto-save files out of dropbox and just the regular files there to see what happens.
Best regards

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when importing HDV Video
For some reason I keep getting crashes when importing HDV (720p60) video into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This has happened on two different machines, with similar specs.
Per the suggested guidelines, here are the specifics:
Version of Premiere Pro: CS6, Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC:264587))
All updates have been installed.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Source footage: HDV 720p60 video in .MOV container.
Full text of error message: "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
Link to full crash report: http://goo.gl/Gn8Bzn
Crash occurs when trying to import HDV .MOV file.
This is a consistent problem when importing .MOV files of this type.
Complete Adobe Creative Suite is installed. Also using Episode Pro encoding software from Telestream to prepare HDV video. No other external video hardware or codecs installed.
Yes, I am using the Mecury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this one out. Thanks Mark. Here is the Media-Info Data of one of the clips:

Adobe Premiere pro cs6 Crashing on Laucher. No error message
OHHH my head hurts, Adobe Premiere pro cs6 no longer works. I was working on a project and i accidentally shut off my computer, upon rebooting i found myself unable to turn on Adobe Premiere. It brings up the laucher, it does not load any codecs, fonts, etc. you know what i mean the really fast list that goes by. My gpu is supported, i have did the cuda core trick, i have deleted my properites, and reinstalled, nothing. I even cleaned my entire computer of adobe folders and the what not, used the cleaner tool to uninstall everything to do with adobe, and reinstalled it all. Still no luck. I installed the trial of photoshop to see if it worked and it worked perfectly fine. Adobe encore, and encoder also do not work. I have checked my graphics drivers, they are fine and not on a beta driver. I also did not make any changes to my system before trying to open it. I have system restored back before it happened by and day, still no luck. I have opened it about 50 times to make sure that it didnt need to black list or anything. I have even ran the license repair tool, I REALLY need help, i was working on a large project with a deadline. Please for the love of everything holy throw whatever suggestion you got at me besides a system reformat, which is my last option and i want to make sure i have tried everything before i do that
>accidentally shut off my computer
1st, very basic question... Windows or Mac?
-See the Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840 for what you need to say when you ask a question
2nd question... HOW did you shut off your computer?
For Windows (I don't do Mac) there is generally a "graceful" shut down when you push the power button, since the power button on modern computers is not DIRECTLY connected to the power supply, it goes through a motherboard control circuit that tells the power supply to shut down only AFTER all open programs are closed
If you hit some kine of external power switch (rocker switch on a surge protector, for instance) so power was ABRUPTLY cut off... you very likely have a corrupted Windows System Registry... and that would require a complete hard drive formatting and reinstall of everything to fix the problem
