Adobe Reader 9.0 - Disable Forms Highlight color show border hover color for fields for all user a

Hello.
I am installing Adobe Reader 9.0 onto a new windows xp corporate build for my company. We would like to have the Forms Preference "Highlight Color" Show border Hover Color for Fields checkbox unchecked by default for any user that logs onto the workstation. (All new WinXP profiles, and if possible, any existing profiles) Is there a registry entry that can be changed to ensure that this option is unchecked by default on our WinXP build?
Thank you.

bumping thread...
I have downloaded the Adobe Reader 9.0 Custom Wizard install creator tool, but it still appears that I will need to know what registry key to change/import into the installer for this preference to be disabled by default for all users of the workstation that Adobe Reader 9.x is installed onto.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

  • Creating an Adobe Reader 6.0 compatible form in Designer 7.0

    I imported a PDF into Designer 7.0, updated the form to allow user input, and saved it as an Adobe Reader 6.0 compatible form. This form works fine in Adobe Reader 6.0 but whenever a user initially opens the form, a message pops up prompting the user to upgrade to 7.0 or else the form will not work. Clicking "Cancel" gets rid of the message and allows the user to input into the fully functional form, but the message still pops up every time the form is opened. Over half of our users are running Adobe Reader 6.0, so any help on preventing this message would be very appreciated.
    Thank you,

  • Adobe Reader won't save forms under Mavericks.

    After installing Mavericks on a Mac, discovered that Adobe Reader won't save forms or e-mail them with the filled-in information. DOes anyone know a fix? Does anyone know if this is also true for Acrobat?

    The reason is Adobe has not updated there software yet to play well with Mavericks. The fault is of course with the Adobe Software. I suggest you go to there web site and see if they have a fix yet for there software, If not all you can do is continue to check back with them or get on there fourms and see what others have to say about this same issue.

  • To the Adobe MUSE team....Have you considered adding an "Upload File" field for the contact forms?

    To the Adobe MUSE team....Have you considered adding an "Upload File" field for the contact forms?

    But seriously...
    Is there any development being done for this?  I have a careers section on our website that I have been asked to "make easier for applicants" (right now, there is a link that just opens an email).  I'm going to make a full version of an application, but I would really like a way to upload resumes and CV's.
    I'm going to have to look into some kind of service if this isnt something on the Muse radar.  A reply of some kind would be fantastic!

  • Content type for Adobe Reader from a LiveCycle form

    This seems to affect Adobe Reader 9 for Mac OS X.
    I have a PDF form made in LiveCycle. It has an HTTP Submit button. The data gets tranferred to the server without a problem (the data is getting saved by our php script), but when the script (on the server) returns the "Thank You" page, we get the following error:
    "An error occurred during the submit process. Cannot process content of type text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1."
    This works fine in Acrobat Reader (and Pro) on Windows and Acrobat Pro on the Mac; the only place we've encountered this problem is with Adobe Reader on the Mac.
    I have tried changing the content-encoding coming out of the server to us-ascii and utf-8, but we get basically the same error, so I don't think it really has anything to do with the content-encoding, it's something with the Reader itself, or I'm just doing something completely wrong.
    Can anyone point me to any documentation on why this isn't working?
    Thanks!

    THanks Rehman. Can you send it to [email protected]
    I have given some points and will close it when I see your document

  • Adobe Reader XI - dynamic PDF Form and the E-Mail Dialog

    Hi Community,
    I have a dynamic PDF Form and we use the E-Mail function to save the XML-Data to local harddrive. That works until Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2. But with the Adobe Reader XI (11.0.4) the E-Mail Dialog has changed so I am One is forced to send the XML file with Outlook or the internal mailer and has no option to save the file locally.
    Does anyone know a workaround or something similar. The Live Cycle server with PDF extension is too expensive for our small project.
    E-Mail Dialog (10.1.2)
    If you choose Internet-E-Mail you get a Save-As File Dialog
    E-Mail Dialog (11.0.4)
    There is no way to save the XML-Data to local Harddrive.

    Hi Pat,
    Are you using Adobe Reader XI? And not Acrobat. It does not ask me to save the form if there are unsaved changes.
    I have used previous versions of reader for saving this form data and it did allow me to save it with ctrl+s. And those versions did prompt me to save the changes before closing.
    I guess I should not have updated the reader.

  • Adobe Reader crashes on importing form XML data larger than 500KB

    I'm trying to import XML data into a PDF form using Adobe Reader. When the file size of the XML is smaller than 500 kilobytes, the PDF form loads the data fine. However, any larger than this leads to Adobe Reader crashing without a warning or error message.
    I've tried this with Aodbe Reader versions 7.0.5, v9 and even the latest Adobe Reader X: same result. So the latest version does not have any patches for this issue so far.
    To be more specific, the form is an IPC-1752-2 v1.0 Material Composition Declaration form. The XML data is generated by a software. Some of the XML files worked fine but others caused Reader to crash. Experimenting with a repeating data node, I tried different file sizes and came to the conclusion that Reader crashes past around 500KB.
    Any patches or quick workarounds will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Firstly I woudl not use the submit by email button (it is too restrictive). You could create or build an email submit button. Just drop a regular button on the form (change the caption to something more meaningful). Now make it a submit button. A submit tab becaomes active. Click on that. In the Submit to URL field enter in the command:
    mailto:[email protected], youremail [email protected]?subject="This is a subject"&cc="ccaddress if req"&body="This is the body if required"
    You can control all parts of the message this way. Do a google search for mailto to see all of the different options.
    Now you need to set what you are going to send. In the Submit As dropdown, choose PDF. Now a PDF will be sent. To be able to allow all users to send PDF you will have to Reader Extend the form. You can do this in Acrobat. Once all of this is done, open the form in Acrobat and under the Advanced menu choose Extend Features in Adobe Reader. Now follow the wizard and save your form. Distribute the saved form.

  • Using the Adobe reader iPad app with forms

    I want to use the app at work to allow clients to fill out forms. I uploaded my forms and it works well typing in the boxes and writing signatures. Is there then a way to make copies of a document in the app so that I can have a blank template. Also, can you change the name of a document or form once it is opened in the app?

    Hello gawks08,
    Adobe Reader on iOS currently does not allow you to create copies of a document, or to rename a document.  We have taken down these requests for consideration in a future update.
    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Reducing form load in Adobe Reader / Optimizing Interactive Dynamic Forms

    I have a four page form that is taking approximately a minute to minute and a half on my T61P with 3 Gigs and Intel Pentium CoreDuo T7500 @ 2.2GHz. Everything loads up fine so it is only this pdf that is the problem.
    Can someone help me or point me to a resource that shows how to tune this form to reduce the load time in Reader. BTW I am on LC ES 8.2 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. I am using Acrobat 9.0 Reader exclusively for a Reader.

    I checked your forms, tried following on my end and it seems to be working as expected with this one little change......
    You housed section 12 in a subform named "Subform2" and set Min Count 1 under Object>>Binding tab......Now I also set "Initial Count" as "0" which seems to have fixed issue but not the good practice to follow. Try it out on your end and see if that is the case....
    However I suspect this issue is primarily caused by the way you have your layout designed....I noticed you have your form designed with few subforms as well as few open items not wrapped under subform which may be causing this issue.

  • I installed Adobe Reader to my Mac OSX 10.8... website I need it for says no.

    I installed Adobe Reader to my Mac osx 10.8. It installed, I clicked "FINISHED".  When I go back to the education website that I needed it for it tells me I need to agree to the Adobe licsencing agreement and reopen the browser. How do I agree to the licsensing agreement?? It never came up for me to do that. I tried to re-install but it just tells me I already have it installed.
    Thanks
    Dawn

    You need to open Adobe Reader by itself (not in the browser), then accept the EULA.

    On a quick look, I think it's a css specifity problem.
    If you take the background color style out of the table and
    create a style in the head of the doc
    (like you did for the body), the color does show up.
    You need to give the outer table an ID and create the
    following style and add it just below the body
    style
    .maintable { background-color: #993300; }
    So the top of your document looks like this:
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body {
    background-color: #000000;
    #maintable { background-color: #993300; }
    -->
    </style>
    This is what the outertable line should look like:
    <table id="maintable" width="700" border="0"
    cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
    PS: There also appears to be a syntax error with the flash
    script, which may cause some issues, but
    I can't help you with that sorry :-)
