Adobe Reader 9 Auto Complete

I have a document that I am trying to fill out. There is a problem with only certain tables. I type something into the line item and it duplicates that info on all other lines in the table. While other tables on the same page are working fine. Any suggestions?
I have already gone into the auto-complete options and removed everything but it keeps doing it.

Without seeing the PDF it's hard to be sure but my first guess would be that whomever created the form named all of those fields with the same name. All fields with the same name will automatically be filled with the same information.
This happens when, instead of creating new fields for each position, someone creates the first field and copy/pastes it into the additional positions.

  • Adobe reader has completely stopped working

    Win7 Professional 64bit, Core i7, 4GB, Reader 10.1.4.
I have been using reader for more years than I can remember. I use it
all day, every day - there is almost never a time when Reader is
    absent from my desktop.
BUT... Today Adobe Reader completely stopped working.  I was using it
quite happily this morning, on a PDF which I have opened dozens or
even hundreds of times.  I needed to switch to another document - when
I tried to open it, (or one of about 100 others I have also opened
many times), I saw nothing appear on the screen, the cursor switched
to pointer/busy, and then cleared after about 5 seconds.  The only
indication that anything happened was a blind ACRORD32.exe process in
the task list.    I rebooted - same result. I uninstalled Reader and
reinstalled it from the Adobe download site.  Same result.  Reader is
simply no longer functioning in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. This now happens
    EVERY time.

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Can my ibooks or adobe reader auto refresh?

We are using Dropbox to push several files to multiple remote iPads. The file types vary, but are typically PDF. We use either a pdf reader, or iBooks to view these files...however, when we use these apps, they save the file to the local iPad. I would like to know if there is a way to change that default, or set the iPad to refresh these apps automatically, and remotely. Any thoughts?

That was my first thought, but that doesn't give us the flexibility we want with the PDF's for viewing them, and when using/sharing documents, we use Pages to modify, and transfer information. The amouth of similar documents may likely get confusing quickley.
    Any other thoughts?

  • When printing PDF Adobe reader auto selects the last used printer

    Hi
I have an issue on most of my PC's that when I Print a PDF document the Windows default printer (Printer A) is selected.
If I choose to print to (Printer B) then the next time I open a PDF document (not the same document than before) it automatically selects (Printer B) even though my Windows default printer is still (Printer A)
So basically it remembers what printer was used last and automatically prints to this printer.
This is a big issue as we are printing documents to a plotter. When I then print a normal A4 page it default to the plotter as this was the last used printer. This is wasting so much paper as users just assume it always selects the default printer rather than the last used printer.
    Thanks

How about changing the printer and printing something, then close Firefox and then restart your operating system? See if that helps ....
I am curious why you need two separate versions of the same printer installed. Is one used on a USB connection and the other part of a network configuration or wireless? If both are network or wireless, are they using a different IP address on the network they are on?
The only time I have seen a similar problem with Firefox not wanting to default to the "last used" printer was with a USB inkjet and a network connected laserjet (Brother) - the laserjet would go to "sleep" (energy saving mode) and Firefox would switch to the inkjet every time the laserjet was asleep. That problem was eventually solved when the USB inkjet was replaced by a "network" connected inkjet - still can't understand why that made the difference, though.

  • Cannot complete form using Adobe Reader - Mac OS X 10.6.8

I have been using Adobe Reader to complete forms for my Bank for more than 9 months without any problems.  I'm using Adobe Reader 10.1.1 for Mac.  I recently upgraded my OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 and this is the first time I've tried to use Adobe Reader since the upgrade. Today when I opened my form using Adobe Reader I cannot select and type in any of the text fields.  Trying to click inside a text box simply seems to 'select' the entire page.
I checked online but could not find any compatibility issues.  I'm hoping that I've overlooked something very simple that I should have done but have no idea what that could be.
I would be very grateful if someone could advise me what my problem might be.
    Cheers

Thanks for responding Ankit.  No, I saved the form to a folder on my desktop and I open it using the Adobe Reader app.  It has always worked without a problem before.  I checked my husband's iMac (which has the same saved form on his Desktop).  He is also running OS X 10.6.8.  On his machine it opened without a hitch so I used his computer to fill in the form and print it out.  Obviously, if it works on his computer and he's also using 10.6.8 it's not related to the upgrade.
I trashed my copy of Adobe Reader and have re-downloaded the app.  Will install it and see whether it now works or if the problem persists.  Will post back the results.'
    Cheers

if I try to open FF4 and go to a pdf file Adobe Reader 10 will open then freeze FF4... I then went to Plugin check.. says Adobe Acrobat needs an Update.. I d/l it 3x.. still comes up as needing an upadate after restarting FF4... it just won't take it as a plugin..
I can't open pdf files anymore.. either FF4 is the culprit --I d/l it last month.. or the Adobe 10 update is...

    Thank you for the video.
The video shows the App Store app that is trying to download and install Adobe Reader for iOS.  Adobe Reader for iOS is not even launched at the point.  Once we (the Adobe Reader Mobile team) upload a new version of Adobe Reader to the App Store, Apple takes care of the installation & updates of the app (and all other iOS apps) for users.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.6.3 on my iPad running iOS 8.1 but could not reproduce the problem.  I suspect that your iPad is in inconsistent state with regard to app updates.
Here are a couple of things that you could try.
Go to the iOS Settings > General > Usage > Managed Storage.
If you see Adobe Reader, tap to go to the next screen.  This is to ensure that Adobe Reader is completely uninstalled from your iPad.  If you do not see Adobe Reader in the list, skip the rest of the steps.
Tap Delete App to uninstall it.
Go back to the App Store to download and install Adobe Reader again.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
Since this is an Apple App Store problem, you would have a better chance of getting answers by asking the question in the Apple support forum.

  • ADOBE reader for ipad won't install

I had adobe reader on my ipad for at least a year. Have a subscription to the pdf to word doc conversion. Adobe pushed an update on Oct 9. I tried to install it a lot of times, but it always hanged. So today I have figured I will just delete the app and install it again. Well, that hasn't solved it either. The install also hangs. Is this a bug? I have an ipad 4, rocking iOS 8.1.

    Thank you for the video.

  • Adobe Reader 8.1 plugin error

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader 8.1 and have even run the patch for 8.1.2 and yet ever time I try to either open Adobe reader or a pdf file, I get an error message saying "Invalid plugin detected, Adobe reader needs to close" and I am unable to read any files at all.
I have Windows Vista and have recently installed Vista Service Pack 1, but the problem occurred both before and after Vista Service Pack 1 was installed. I've searched the forums and knowledgebase and have tried all the possible solutions that have been offered, but so-far nothing has worked.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do in order to resolve the problem? At this point Adobe Reader is completely unusable.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    -Ron

I have the exact same problem running Vista. Has anyone offered a solution?
I uninstalled 8.1 and installed 7.1. It works fine, but I got a message warning of known Vista compatility issues

  • Does Adobe Reader clean up PDFs while displaying?

    Hi ,
I have a PDF which I opened in Adode viewer and KPDF in linux. When opened in Adobe the PDF appeared much cleaner, bleed-through has been removed. In KPDF I am still seeing bleed-through and some other noise in the same PDF. Can someone please tell me whether Adobe reader auto-cleans the PDF while displaying and if yes, is there a way to disable it? Thanks in advance.
    -Sham

Thank you. I tried that but still it is not disabling the clean-up. The PDF when opened in Adobe is still cleaned up compared to when the file is opened in KPDF.
    Thanks,
    Sham

  • Auto-Complete bugs in Adobe Reader X / Acrobat X

When I open a PDF that has fillable forms, and auto-complete is enabled, it does a terrible job of managing it's suggestions and how it handles my desire to 'type through' the suggestions that it's offering.
To test this, you'll need a PDF with multiple fillable form fields.  it seems to have the hardest time with numerical data.  Spend a couple minutes entering in a lot of numerical data into the fields.  Delete some of it, put in different numbers, and eventually you'll see what I'm talking about.  I suggest that, because in some cases I'm able to reproduce it immediately, and in others it takes a few tries or a few different PDFs.  If you have typed in an address, say '1234 main', then in a later field, type in a zip code of '12345', then in yet another field start typing 12345 then hit the spacebar, it autofills "12345main".  Note how 12345main does not match anything I previously entered, but the auto-complete database thinks that it does.  The 'ain' part of "12345main" stays highlighted, like that's what it's now suggesting.  If you backspace back so that it shows "12345" again, and then hit space, it will auto-fill to '12345main' again.  I can't simply 'Type through' thie suggestion, because it leaves the 'm' there.
What's odd, is that for the sake of this demonstration, you type in multiple items that begin with 1234, then enter '1234 ' (note the space) on another field, it actually won't suggest to you the items you previously entered that begin with 1234 .  Example:  in 3 fields, type in  1234 Main St,  1234 Downtown Rd., and then in the 3rd field start type 1234 followed by space. You'd think you'd be offered suggestions by Auto-complete that contain both 1234 Main St. and 1234 Downtown Rd, but you don't.  If you type something like '12345' now, you'll be back to the problem i outlined above where it automatically selects an item from the list and grabs an unwanted letter from the first word after the space.  Interestingly enough, if you keep typing '1234 Ma' for example, you still don't see the Auto-complete suggestions unless you start hitting the 'Backspace' key, at which point the proper suggestions are displayed.
For our users that send out a lot of correspondence to clients, this is a huge inconvenience.  The only workaround is to completely disable the Auto-complete option under 'Forms'.  If they do not, then they can end up with incorrect information going out to cilents, and some of them have sent printed forms to cilents containing characters that didn't make sense or numerical data that was not correct because it had picked up unwanted characters from auto-complete.
    Additional information:
I'm able to duplicate this problem on multiple workstations.
    OS: Windows 7 32-bit Enterprise SP1, Windows XP 32-bit Professional SP3
I'm able to duplicate the problem  with Adobe Reader X and Adobe Acrobat X
The problem also occurs whether I select either 'Advanced' or 'Basic' for the Auto-Complete setting

  • Auto Complete fucntion in Adobe Reader 9.x

    Hi,
In Reader version 7.0, there is an option to have the auto-complete data cache to local disk option.  In Reader 9.x (or even earlier version), this option has been taken off and when user exit out a PDF form from a browser, the entry lists is cleared.  Is that desgin by default?  In other words, the auto complete functions does not remember anything once you exit out from the form.
    Any help is appreciated.

    We are using 9.1.1.
We notice that this option is no loger available in this version.  The below option will keep the form data available even if you exist out from the sessions.
Keep Forms Data Temporarily Available On Disk
Retains forms data in the Internet browser if you briefly go to
another web page and then click Back to return to the PDF form.
