  • Cannot install Adobe Reader XI font pack

Hi, all, need ur kind help.
We used to use Adobe Reader X with japanese font pack and it's working fine. After recent upgrade to Reader XI, when we started to install XI font pack, we got the following msg. We've found that user has Japanese font pack for Reader 9, Adobe Acrobat X Standard - Japanese as well as Adobe Reader XI (11.0.04) on the machine. Have tried to remove Reader XI and install Reader X, then XI, then the XI font pack. Still the same error. Please advise what's the problem and how to complete font pack installation. Thanks.

I tried font pack for Reader 11 without installing Reader 11 on machine and I got below message as
Which says, Adobe Reader XI is required but your message shows Reader X.
I will suggest you to please check once again if you are running correct installer.

When opening a pdf document in Adobe Reader the font of the original document is changed....It becomes a mix of the original font and a new different font. How can i fix this

This issue occurs with most of the PDFs that I open up. I am using the latest version of adobe reader on my windows based machine and it is a general PDF. I saw a similar post online stating that if you look at the fonts used in the document and it doesn't say (Embedded) next to it, then Adobe Reader will try to pull the font(s) from your computer and if it doesn't find that font then it will replace it which makes it look funny.

I have designed a report using IReport tool with some text as BOLD, which generates report in PDF format. when i open the file with Adobe Reader IX it opens perfectly.
but the problem is when i open the same file in mozilla add-on "Adobe Reader 11.0.3.37" and in previous versions it does not displaying the bold fonts.

Is there a non-confidential example of this PDF that we could view?

  • Adobe Reader X font size change.

We are using Adobe Reader X. After a recent update, the toolbar has somehow increased in font size so that we can no longer use the navigation buttons. How do I change the font size of the program? It seems as though the entire program has increased in font size or has been zoomed in. I have already checked the resolution size on my monitor and nothing changed here would modify what was being seen in Adobe Reader X in order to return the tool/menu bars.

Nevermind. It looks like it was just a resolution issue on the monitor. They had the text font set to Large.

  • Adobe Reader X Font issue

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize if this has been discussed already!  I recently downloaded the newest Reader (X) and have encountered an odd problem.  Files that I had saved and viewed with the older version now look "wrong".  By that, I mean that the font appears jagged and uneven, as if I'm looking at a printed copy from a crappy printer.  Indeed, when I print the files off (like something from an online journal like Nature) the resolution of it is unacceptable.  I first thought my printer was on the brink, but when I looked at the file on my computer, it looked bad.  The same files had looked fine and printed great with the old version.  I'm guessing there is some setting that I messed up somehow.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks so much!

Thanks for the info. Maybe that would be nice to build into the Reader and/or Acrobat a function to check any existing installed Adobe versions on the PC and warn the user if there would be any incompatibility issue during the installation of a new Adobe product. Many no-name programs can do that............ The great Adobe no would be able to do that???????

  • [Bug] Adobe Reader: weird fonts on Android 2.3.3

    Hi,
each time I open a PDF on Android 2.3.3 (Sony Ericsson: Xperia Arc), the reader displays weird fonts throughout the document.
Here is a screenshot (a manual one, sorry):
The usual font is the one on the bottom (I'd say Times New Roman); however the reader displays another font on top of the image, one that doesn't appear when I read the file on a PC: on a PC the bottom font is used instead. This weird font's appearance seems to be quite random: as you can see it even happens within a paragraph.
How could I solve this problem? Thanks.

    Hi again,
i'm not sure the PDF in itself will be able to help you, since the Reader does this on all the PDFs I have on my phone, and doesn't on a computer.
    Anyway, here it is:

    Hope this'll help you.

  • Using Japanese version of Adobe Reader (9 or 10) on English Windows XP?

Our users have Windows XP SP3 English with the Windows XP Japanese MUI installed. Up until now we have been using the English Adobe Reader 8 with the Japanese Font pack. I am just curious if there would be any problems with using the Japanese version of Adobe Reader 9 or 10 (still deliberating which version to upgrade users to). on the English language client OS (which has the Japanese XP MUI installed). This would save us having to deploy the Adobe Reader Japanese font pack and manage it.
I have tried installing it as such and it appears to work but I wonder if any issues may appear long term. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

    Here is the Recommended Path
    Reader 9.5.0 -> 9.5.1 (Quarterly)-> 9.5.2 (Quarterly)
Please slso consider the article mentioned below for Reader Deployment

  • Adobe Reader ... Support for Chinese Simplified

Recently, I received my customer e-mail with PDF file attached. But everytime I open the PDF, it always said: It can be opened unless Chinese Simplified character was Supported.
Would you mind to show me where can I download it? And how to install it?
    Thank you

Assuming that you are looking for font packs for Windows:

Macintosh font packs can be found at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Macintosh

  • Reader wants to install font pack, but it's allready installed

As in summary. I'm not able to open the file.

Thank you.  Interestingly I can see the document at the files.acrobat.com preview.  But when I download the document and try to open with Adobe Reader, I get the same as you
I try to open it with Acrobat, and it tells me that it requires the Chinese Traditional font, which it installs automatically.  I can then see the document.
Under Properties I can see that it uses the MingLiU and PMingLiU fonts.
However, I do not understand why Adobe Reader refuses to open it when the Reader 11 font pack is installed.

  • PDF Fonts change when viewed in Adobe Reader

I'm producing a PDF which will be viewed online. It's being creating in Pages 09 and I export it to PDF.
In Preview the PDF is fine - no problems. But when I view it in Adobe Reader the fonts have changed. I've tried all the fonts listed in the Font collection "PDF" and most recommended for Web.
Just to give you a couple of examples Times becomes blurry in Reader, while Helvetica looks more like Verdana.
I didn't have this problem prior to upgrading to Snow Leopard. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help with this. Thanks.

Peter, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner than this, I've been away from my Mac since I posted this.
Thank you for your very kind offer to look at the files for me. In between time a friend has been over and apparently altered some settings on my iMac and the problem seems to have been resolved. (I hope!)
Thanks again - I daresay I'll be back with more questions before long...
