Adobe Updates "Supressed By the Administrator" - Digital Publishing Suite / InDesign, Enabling Root

I read: Adobe Updates "Supressed By the Administrator" - Digital Publishing Suite / InDesign (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1152766), but enabling root is not working either. I´m running Maverick and InDesign CC. Update tab is dimmed and tried doing everything that is posted on the forums. Can someone help please?

Then the next step would be to remove all currently installed Adobe software using the available uninstallers.  I would then utilize the CC Cleaner tool available at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html to insure complete removal.
You should be able to then install InDesign successfully and apply the updates.
If you continue to face difficulties then please uninstall all Adobe software and rename the /Library/Application Support/Adobe folder.

  • Is there a problem with updating Indesign v.9 Digital Publishing Suite InDesign CC

    Hi
I've recently updated Indesign CC and I want to update my DPS tools. It's telling me an update is required through the help menu but it's greyed out suggesting it's already up to date.
I've re-installed CC but I get the same problem. I've also downloaded AdobeDigitalPublishingPatch-CC-27.0.0 but that won't install.
Can anyone help? I'm running a Mac on OS 10.8.3
    Thanks
    Roy

In the Folio Builder panel I get the message:
    DPS
A software update is required to use Digital Publishing Suite. Please go to the Help menu and select Updates to get the required software.
However when I go to the help menu (Help > updates) as requested, updates is greyed out.
I downloaded the AdobeDigitalPublishingPatch-CC-27.0.0 patch and tried to install and update as I used to in CS5.5 and 6 but this throws up an update failed dialogue box saying update supressed by administrator. I am an administrator for my machine so I'm not sure what and where the problem is.
    Thanks
    Roy

  • Scrolling/Panning Object-Digital Publishing Suite (InDesign CC)

So I'm trying to develop an app for my portfolio using the DPS tools found in InDesign CC.
I want an interactive, scrollable, series of objects that behave similar to the Table of Contents that is used in each issue of INSPIRE.
I've tried a number of existing tools, but I'm probably just not setting the objects up correctly.
Attached is how I currently have it set up.
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Adobe Inspire uses a scrollable frame to create the table of contents. The content frame of the scrollable frame includes buttons that link to the different articles. To see examples of scrollable frames, take a look at the free DPS Tips app.

  • Digital Publishing Suite: many are confused by the term

Call me pedantic but I know that many people are confused by the term Digital Publishing Suite. This name describes an extension to InDesign CS5.5/CS5 that provides a set of authoring tools but it also identifies a completely separate subscription service that Adobe runs to hosts Apps. A distinction should be made between these two.
Also in this forum it would be useful to flag items that only pertain to subscribers. Bob’s announcement today that Viewer Builder 1.5 is available stated For DPS Subscribers Only which is useful, but often in threads it is not clear whether comments refer to those with a subscription or those without.
Also I urge Adobe to include a Feature Requests section on this Forum (like the prerelease) in order for Adobe to keep in touch with the needs of “real” users.

    Hi Graham,
The DPS name covers the full range of applications and services as they are all intrinsically linked. The InDesign Folio Builder and overlay creator tools, are used to produce folios to be uploaded to Acrobat.com. The Folio Editor tools available through digitalpublishing.acrobat.com allow the user to reorganise these same folios, add and edit the metadata and, if they are a subscriber, publish these folios to the fulfillment server so that they can be download to the iPad/Android tablet/Playbook. The viewer builder exists for subscribers to create the iOS or Android apps their customers will use to download the folios from the fulfillment server.
I agree with you and Bob on the other points however, there does seem to be a lot of confusion about which elements are available with a standard Adobe ID and which require a subscription.
While we don't have a requests forum, we do have the [email protected] alias, which users can email to make us aware of issues, requests and obviously feedback.
    Regards,
    Alex

  • Digital Publishing Suite problem

When trying to use DPS I get the message "A software update is required to use Digital Publishing Suite. Please go to the Help menu and select Updates to get the required software." then no updates are available. I've downloaded a couple of patches etc that people have suggested but I get a message saying I need  "updates could not be applied. Please contact your administrator if you wish to apply updates to your machine." Any suggestions?

    Try using a different browser

  • Digital Publishing Suite

I work for a school district and we want to experiment with self publishing 21st century digital textbooks.  The combination of InDesign and the Digital Publishing suite looks ideal.  However we do not want to be locked into the Apple ecosystem.  The goal of the project is openness and a proprietary system like Apple is the opposite ofopenness.
So for $40/month we can get the Creative Cloud and get everything we need EXCEPT we are locked in to the Apple system for tablets and smartphones or we can spend an additional $500 a month for the professional Digital Publish Suite.
That seems odd to spend $500 a month to publish to an open platform.  Am I missing something or is there another way to go?
BTW we looked at eBooks but support for video is spotty at best on Android devices (are you listening Adobe Digital Editions?).

If you are only experimenting with digital publishing, you can build Android folios and view them through the Adobe Content Viewer without paying for distribution to the Google Play store.
Once you have built something that you actually want to distribute via the store, you will have to consider your licensing options, but until that live distribution is needed, there is nothing stopping you from experiementing with Android publishing.

  • Digital Publishing: Managing Updates | Learn Digital Publishing Suite | Adobe TV

Adobe updates the components of the Digital Publishing Suite about every six weeks. Some users have been confused about which updates to install and when to do this. Adobe Digital Publishing Evangelist Colin Fleming helps clear up this confusion. The two major components are the Folio Builder and Folio Producer Tools downloads. This video discusses these and other components, when one should install these updates, and when one should wait to install them.
    http://adobe.ly/HZlv9M

In Scenario 2. When updating DPS APP. Am I correct in understanding that you use the VIEWER BUILDER to build a new APP and submit for approval and THEN load the new Folio Producer Tools. What I am confused over is how can you build your app if the content has not been structured using the new toolset yet? Are the App markets simply approving the architecture of the document/viewer versioning and NOT the content per se?

  • Error: Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite

A few days ago I ordered Creative Cloud account. Since that when I try to log in into Folio Producer I receive this message:
Sorry, your account cannot access the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. Please contact Customer Support for help.
At the same time I do can log in into Folio Builder in my InDesign CS6 and even add folios. Might be this error by someway linked to that I had in the past DPS Pro account?
    Thank you in advance.

This issue does not have solution. I came up to DPS developing team, anyone does not want to fix manually each account and they do not have an automatic solution.

  • Is there a way of using remoteupdatemanager to install the Digital Publishing suite to Adobe inDesign?

Is there a way of using remoteupdatemanager to install the Digital Publishing suite to Adobe inDesign, if not how do I install it to Macs running Adobe CC 2014? I need to do this remotely and silently using ARD to over 100 Macs.

It's alo what mine looks like as well because I've not added anything At first I didn't know and no one would tell me. Then I just go used Tools menu. It far more complex to learn if you go to it Cold Turkey from using Menu bars which are vastly easier. It’s a shock to your system. But you learn to use tools menu evn though it takes far more time. You waste time clicking heading to find sub topics and sometimes items that should be grouped together are spread all over.  But, Hey Change is supposed to be good whether we want it or not.

  • I would like to learn more about using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.

I would like to learn more about using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. I really don't know much about it nor do I know anyone who uses it yet. Is it specifically for creating apps for tablets? What about smart phones? We sometimes produce PDF publications that are posted to our website. Can DPS be used to produce more interactive online publications? What is a .folio application? What platforms are .folio apps used on?

DPS currently supports iPads, iPhones, and Large and XLarge Android devices. You can start here to get basic information and watch a few videos:

Oakley, a designer of sunglasses, ski goggles and other innovative sports accessories, uses Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to create a merchandising app with inspiring editorial about sponsored athletes. Check out the app of the week video to see some creative applications of DPS overlays. Scroll through the editorial that seemingly appears from behind a mountain. Instead of an ad of the week video, the DPS team has created a mashup of many great ads built using Digital Publishing Suite. Interactive ads built in Digital Publishing Suite allow readers to play, learn, and shop, deepening brand engagement and purchase intention.

These are awesome examples. But aren't they all created using HTML5? I didn't catch any that are native DPS.
