Adove Reader 8.1.2

I downloaded Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and when the download was finished is said "Setup was completed successfully." When I try to open Adobe Reader 8.1.2 I get a message that says "Adobe reader 8.1.2 has encountered a problem and needs to close." I am using WindowsXP and have installed SP3. I am using Internet Explorer, Version7. Any ideas what my problem is and how I can get Adobe Reader to work? Thanks

I would remove the installation. Use the Microsof Installer Cleanup tool
to remove all vestiges of the installation and try to re-install.

Issue with Adove Reader 8.1.0 when we are in DISPLAY Mode.

We are getting below dump in all the forms when we changed with Adobe Reader 7.0.1 to Adobe Reader 8.1.0 with higher version of ACF,
Forms have not issues we are able to submit the forms successfully.
But when we are opening the submitted forms and this form has any text box or dropdown EVENT and if we click any where in the form then this form start the rotation clock and below dump display immediately.
So do you have any idea how to correct this?

Hi Saurabh,
CR 8.5 never was side-by-side compatible with any other version of CR runtime.
And as of CR 9 you no longer are licensed to be able to use crpe32 as the reporting engine. R&D can change it at anytime so absolutely no support for it in that respect either. After CR 9 crpe32 was completely rewritten and a lot of parts were removed into their own dll's. The major parts were the DB drivers were renamed and the Parameter API's were also updated and old one's are no longer recognized, or may not work the same way.
So why not simply completely drop 8.5 since it is over 12 years old now... There is no reason you need to still be supporting it. We dropped support for it a long long time ago.

Adobe Reader 9.0 views but won't print a graphic that prints in version 7.0

I have several pdf files that were created from Adobe InDesign. The files contain a photo that has text and another graphic layered on top of the photo. When I export the InDesign file to Adobe PDF, I can see the entire image (photo, text, and graphic), but when I try to print the PDF from Adobe Reader 9.0, the graphic image does not print. When I try to print the same pdf file from a computer that has Adobe Reader 7.0 installed, the file prints fine. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? If not, is there any way I can get Adove Reader 7.0 reinstalled (I can't find it on the website). Thanks.

Try and print the PDF as an image.
Also when you send this to someone else are hey able to print without an issue?

Autofill fields in PDF Reader

I have a need to open a pdf file created with Adobe and automatically fill a couple of the fields that are in the PDF. Then allow the user to fill/modify any of the fields in the open PDF and then print the form. I can easily open the form and allow the user to fill it in. I want to pre-fill the name and address fields, since the user has already entered that information in the application I have written. I would just like to pass that data on to the Adove reader.

Create an FDF or XFDF with the desired fields filled, then open it in Reader.

Impossible to download Adobe Reader

As I could not read any more my pdf docs, I tried to re-install Adove Reader. Go a message saying that it was impossible to install this application in my exploitation system... What can I do ? Thanks for helping.

You may try running the Acrobat and Reader Cleanup Tool:

Then, if you want to reinstall Reader, download its full installer from

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Font not recognised by Adobe reader

When trying to open an Adobe document with Adove Reader I get an error message saying that the embedded font are not recognised and my not display or print correctly. When opening the document it only displays dots. How do I fix this?

You cannot fix it. Contact the person that created the pdf file.

Can't pdf save documents from Firefox 6.0.2

I have windows XP sp3 + all updates, Firefox 6.0.2 and Adobe Reader X (10.1.0).
When I download a document from the web and use the Adobe Reader options to save the document to disk I get the following error message.
"The Disk you were saving to or the Disk used for Temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk."
I have uninstalled and reinstalled but get same result. My other PC's have same setup and work okay.
If I open a document with Adove Reader and save as it works, so it seem to be associated with the Firefox plugin.

"Save as" from within the browser is ok. However it is not the most convenient method.
I've deinstalled Adobe Reader X and deleted all the remaining files from a previous version (8) which had obviously not been cleared correctly, and cleaned the hard disk including registry keys with CCleaner. Then I've reinstalled Adobe Reader X. The problem remains
I understand that there are several problems with Acrobat Reader X in all sorts of browsers. Saving is one of them, but also opening pdf-files from within a browser may cause problems (I had this from time to time). See also the following threads in this forum:

Thus I wonder whether Acrobat has planned the fixing of these problems (even for old Windows systems like XP) or whether we have to cope with the inconveniences. And I am surprised that there is no official answer by Acrobat to this obviously quite common problem.

How to load and show PDF on stage in Flash using AlivePDF or PurePDF external libraries?

I searched a lot on internet but didn't find a proper way to load and open/show PDF on stage in Flash. Following are my understandings about this topic.
I know Flash does not have the built-in functionality to load and show pdf document on stage.
I know you can do this in AIR application using HTMLLoader class but it required adove reader to be installed on your machine.
I have used AlivePDF/PurePDF and I know how to export/generate a PDF File using these libraries but I don't know how to use them to load and show PDF document on stage in Flash. According to my research, I think these libraries can accomplish my task but how, I don't know. That's because I am here for your help.
People suggest to first convert pdf into an image or swf file and then import it into Flash but I don't want this solution because my clients will be importing/uplading PDF file into my software.
Some people suggest to "Convert PDF renderer code written in C/C++ using Alchemy to flash library" and then use that library to my project. I don't have any idea how to do this. If anyone can help me to achieve required functionality this way, please guide me.

Just to throw in a $0.02, I looked at those libraries myself quite a while ago and all they had the ability to do was give you information and assets from the PDF. At that point you literally had to read each page in the PDF (whatever the library could extract), use the information it extracted (position, type size, images, etc) and create a layout engine that could "reconstruct" the page piece by piece.
I hope it's better these days but that's what I took from those libraries quite a while ago and it may still be true. That would explain "Convert PDF renderer code written in c/c++ using Alchemy to flash library". Someone may already have written a quality layout engine. Otherwise there was no "load pdf, run this ShowPDF() function to add to display list" functionality at all.

LaserJet Pro 400 Legal pages printing

I have a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dw and use it with Adove Reader 11.0.07 and MAC OSX 10.9 ( Mavericks)
to print legal papers that have both Letter and Legal pages. The Adove Reader picks the size based on the size sent via a PDF. The problem is that when it prints Legal size it prints the first page correctly and then prints the following legal pages off set by 3 inches. It prints Letter pages correctly. This used to work correctly and now has this problem. I have installed the latest HP software and Adobe Reader. It used to work fine but now does not. My workaround is to print on and old PC whick works properly.

Dynamic table data isn't transfered to the context, with webdynpro for java

Hi,
I'm using LifeCycle designer 7.1 and Adobe reader 7.0.5.
I'm trying to make a dynamic table in a PDF form, that will be related to a table in the context.
I've designed the context like it says here: Dynamic Table - same data repeating in all rows
I made a dynamic table and related the cells on the row to the context, by dragging the variables from the DataView into them.
The table is related to TableList, the row to TableWrapper[], and the cells are related like this: TableData[].ItemName
And there's a button which adds a row to the table.
And for some reason, that's not working; When hitting the Submit to SAP button, it doesn't appear as though the data was transferred to the WebDynpro context.
Can anyone help me with it please..?
By the way - I tried using the SAP standard subform controls, the 'Insert Remove Move' control.
When trying it through the PDF preview, it doesn't work - whatever I click displays an error message, and when it runs from the browser - It automatically searches for an update for Adove Reader (I use 7.0.5).
Is it supposed to work only with version 8 of the Adobe Reader?

Well, I reinstalled ACF, and now the Submit button works, and the Insert Remove Move buttons work as well.
But the table context still doesn't work.
I had put some values in the context, in DoInit, and they appeared in the table in the form, but when I changed them in the form it didn't affect the context at all.
There's a simple attribute value related to a text field, which IS affected when changed in the form, and the Submit button is clicked. Only the table doesn't work.
How can I make it work?

We run a large Citrix Xenapp estate based on Citrix XenApp 4.5 x64 technology in a 80 server farm with Windows Server 2003 x64 O/S.
We have recently experienced issues with thin client users using having their Adobe Reader version 9.5.0 crash whilst trying to print.
We un-install and re-install Adove Reader and the problem goes away for a little while but comes back soon with over 45 users using each Citrix server.
This is the Microsoft error code which is not very helpful
Faulting application AcroRd32.exe, version 9.5.0.270, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x000528ef.

The only trigger appears to be the Microsoft Patch Tuesday roundup from December.
However rolling back these patches does not resolve the problem?
Has anyone had a similar problem?

Hi,
The ADMPlugin is used by Acrobat or Reader to create dialog boxes. The reason for crash could be that the ADMPlugin file is either corrupt or their is some problem with the permissions of the file.
To resolve this issue you can fully repair Reader installation. Steps to do the same are mentioned below.
Close any running reader process.
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0
Delete Reader folder.
Now try repairing the reader installtion from Control Panel->Add or remove Programs.
This should resovle the issue.
If crash occours even after repair then please share the MD5 and permissions of the ADMPlugin.apl file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\SPPlugins.

Installation and copying problem

Whether I want to update my Adobe Reader 8 or try to download a ne Adove Reader 9 it fails when installing it. I receive the following message:
Error 1402 Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run\Optional\Components\MSFS
Veryfy that you have sufficient acces to that key.
What am I supposed to do?
My second questions is that I sometimes copy a few words from a sertain PDF-document and then paste them on a Word document. For some reason it does not work any more - copying works but when I paste the word on Word it is transformed to some block letters meaning nothing. What is wrong?

Sorry, a serious error has occured... can't read Premiere 2.0 archived project

I am in the process of upgrading from Premiere Elements 2.0 to Premiere Elements 7, and also from Windows XP to Windows 7. I have XP on one hard drive, and Windows 7 on another. I've installed Premiere Elements 7 on the Windows 7 disk.
When I create a new project on PE 7, everything works OK. When I try to read anything that I created in PE 2, I get the following...
"Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adove Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
In PE 2, I archived a project onto the hard drive Windows 7 hard drive, in 'my videos' folder, but even that causes me to get the above error.
Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try?

You could export to DV-AVI and then read it in to PRE7 (but this will embed any transitions or effects into the import file).

How to make fields read only in acrobat 9?

hi folks
I have created a form in Adove livecycle 9. Some fields should be read only from the start. So i have set the property .access 'open'. In versions of Adobe 8 this works, but in version 9 it won't so i think it should be done via another solution. Does anybody know how?
