ADSL network username and password required

Help, I've got someone trying to sort my home wireless but he's asking for my BT ADSL Network Logon Username & Password - I cant seem to find anywhere or have any record.  Does anyone out there know?

If it is the Router login you require it is [email protected]  also known as  broadband user name, with no password needed.

  • Could not complete backup; network username and password wrong....help!

I've been using the Time Capsule just fine for my automated Time Machine backups, until recently when they stopped working. I finally checked into it today, and it tries for about 10 seconds, then says "Time Machine could not complete backup. The network backup disk could not be accessed because there was a problem with the network username and password." I hadn't changed any of the settings, so I don't know why it would do this. So I totally erased the Time Capsule, set it to factory settings, gave it all new passwords and what not, created a whole new wireless network, etc... and still it's doing the same thing. Take a look at the screenshot to see what I mean.
Any help here would be appreciated.
    Thank You.

    Ok
Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access. Look for an item named the same as your Time Capsule, and it will say 'Base Station Password" (or something like that), and delete it (just select it, and press delete on your keyboard)
Now when you try to connect to your Time Capsule for a backup, it will prompt for the password. Enter the password that you set just before.
Let me know if you have any more trouble.

  • Username and Password Required for Wifi Connection, Not Being Asked for Username

I just updated my iphone 4s to ios 8 and attempted to join my school's wireless network, which requires both a username and a password. i am being asked for a password but not a username.
my question here is how to have the username be requested as well.
thank you in advance for answering.

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this?  I see your post is old, but the exact same thing has happened to me and I can't figure out what the generic username and password would be.  Any insight you have would be most helpful. Thanks!

  • OS X not remembering network username and password

I have had this problem since starting at my current office. (Over 16 months.)  I inherited a computer from a previous staff person.  Each of my computers have been Macs. (3 different computers in 16 months.)  We are mostly a Mac computer office but our Active Directory and File Server are both Window PC's. BOOO!
Whenever I try to log in to the file server I get the request for the my network user name and password.  The window already has a user name but it's not mine.  It is the user name of a previous user of my original computer (From 16 months ago.).  I say original computer because I now have my thrid computer which I migrated from the first and second one.  I'm sure whatever the problem it is has come along with each migration.
I have looked in my Keychain Access and found the network password item for the file server.  When I opened it my username and password are correct.
So... where do I go from here?  Thanks for your help.

Try deleting it from KeyChain. Also look for any other passwords for other users in the past for this and delete them.
When you log back into the server, password fields should be blank. Put your's in and save it.

  • Using a guest wi-fi network with changing username and password

I am trying to access a "guest user" wi-fi network at my office. For security purposes, the guest network username and password are changed periodically. The connection worked fine until the username and password changed. Is there any way to access the setup of a specific wi-fi network on the iPhone and update the user name and password? I would like to be able to do it without resetting ALL the networks used?
I tried to use "Forget Network" and then restored the connection, but it appears the iPhone retains the old username and password in memory.
    Thanks!
    liv3itup

Well, I tried to duplicate what you talked about. I have my wireless here at home, and I chose, "Forget this network" and when I went to rejoin, it asked for a password. Many public networks take their username and password through the browser. Have you tried to open Safari to see if it will default to the username/password screen? I've used mine at hotels that change their access every 24 hours and if I try to log back on after the time, it defaults back to the login screen. That is the only solution that I can think of. And yes, if you go to settings and reset network settings, it will clear all of them.

  • Retrieve username and password from Portal in external appl.

    Hi All,
I have deployed an web application containing jsp into OC4J. I have registered this application as an external application in the portal. I need to capture the username and password required for the external application in the jsp (deployed as web application) after the external application has been authenticated by SSO server.
Can i get it from the request or is ther any other way to capture the user credentials in the jsp of the external application?
    Thanks & Regards,
    SY

Actually if the JSP is registered as an external Application then it is the JSP itself that is doing the
authentication not the SSO server. The credentials are sent to the External Application either as HTTP
header entries or on the URL depending on the type of method chosen to submit the request. In an external
application the SSO server is effectively building the URL that would have come from the Login Page of the
    application.
So in this case, if the application is being called as an external application, then they already have the
username/password. Else it would not be an external application.

  • Firefox does not automatically load nor find the login page for a public network (i.e. username and password)

To log in on a public network without a password-key (not secured), a user login is required.
After connecting to the network, the browser, upon opening it, normally automatically loads the login page, in order to enter a username and password and connect to the internet.
Firefox doesn't find the login page automatically, so I need to switch to google Chrome just to log in to the network.
Does this have anything to do with user settings in the options of firefox?
    Any ideas?
    thx!

    Hi,
You can try setting the login page as the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page Home page] and choose to '''Show my home page''' beside '''When Firefox starts:'''.
Alternatively, and/or to preserve your current settings you could also pin it as an always present one-click away [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-are-app-tabs App tab].

  • OS X says  D-Link DSM g-600 network drive needs a username and password.

Can connect my macbook to my wireless network, surf the net and detect network printer and shared files on my XP Home Desktop. The LAN portion consistists of a network printer, Linksys router, XPHome desktop and 500 GB external storage device. The storage device is a D-Link dsm g-600. The files therein were put there by the desktop and a now-defunct XP Home laptop over the course of 2 years. The laptop never had any trouble detecting, connecting to and reading files on the DSM-G600.
The Macbook detects it under "Finder", but fails to connect. Trying to connect elicits and demand for username and password. Connecting to the DSM from the XP computers never required a password and conecting to the device as an admin just requires the username "admin" and no password. D-Link says its an OSX problem and Apple says its a D-Link firmware problem. Before buying a ticket to India to find the phone techs that told me this, I'm wondering if anyone else had any thoughts.

    Basics - Server 2008 R2 - SP1, WDS,  MDT 2013
Well all, I've done this at least 20 times today and the deployment share info is still wrong...
Someone else built and messed with this thing so i'm trying to fix it.  We have 2 MDT servers and 1 WDS that is on the Production MDT.  I've turned the test MDT off.
It was working fine, until I updated the deployment share ... after adding some drivers for the surface pro 3 for the pxe boot

It continues to show up on the client as ||mdt901w8|deploymentshare$  (test server) (pipes for \ since it makes it a link and i'm new)
I've deleted all the .wim and associated files from all locations from the deployment share\boot folder and from the wds remote install\boot\x64\images folder where they are instead of the remote install\boot\images folder that everyone refers to.
I really can't figure this one out... I know it's something simple I'm over looking but I can't see it..

  • Hp printer requires a username and password

My HP Deskjet F4583 wireless printer worked wonders with my Windows XP.
Now we've all upgraded to Windows 7 (very grumpy - everything worked just fine on XP)
Tried printing through wireless office network (that "I" set up), and suddenly get this:
"The server 10.0.0.3:80 requires a username and password.
THe server says: HP Printer Networking@."
             followed by the appropriate fields.
    So now what?
Since when was a username/ password option available - believe me I would have tried to omit it when creating the network - we don't have time to "play" with our gadgets; we just expect them to work with minimum fuss.
    Please help...

The exact network was shown in my question - it is an 802.11 WiFi network configured for WPA2 authentication.
It is not an open network with no encryption or authentication.
It is not a walled garden network with no 802.11 encryption but using a web browser for authentication.
It is not a WPA2-PSK network with a shared key for 802.11 encryption.
It is a WPA2 network with 802.11 encryption and EAP authentication to a RADIUS server.  It needs the printer supplicant to supply a username and a password.  I own neither the AP nor the RADIUS server for this network, they are owned by the college my child attends.
There you go.  Need to ask your IT department how to connect because the printer will never connect with a browser authentication.    Also not supported on a Radius server.

Printers do not work with networks that require a username and password to communicate on the network.  Sorry.
The only way you will be able to use the printer wirelessly is through an ad-hoc connection.  This means the computer will not an Internet connection while it is connected to the printer's ad-hoc network unless the computer has two network connections available (2 wireless or 1 wireless and 1 wired).
The top of page 138 of the manual details how to connect to the printer's ad-hoc network.
    Let me know what happens.

I need to use it over my university's wifi. theres no option to enter username and password. how to connect the apple tv to such enterprise network?

Contact the University's IT dept, they may be able to set something up on the network to allow the ATV to connect without the need for a user name/password.

  • How do I connect to an SMTP server that requires a username and password?

    Hi,
I am currently working on a project for university which requires me to send and receive email. I was until this week able to send mail no problem, but now the SMTP server has been upgraded so that each time a mail is sent it requires the username and password.
Ideally the connection should be made using TLS/SSL, and not use the Authenticator method. I want to pass the username and password directly if possible.
I've been trying to use the following but have been getting handshake, and other exceptions:
    SMTPSSLTransport smtpSSLtransport = new SMTPSSLTransport(session,
                        new URLName("smtp", smtpHost, port, null-File,
                        "USERNAME", "PASSWORD"));
            smtpSSLtransport.setStartTLS(true);
            smtpSSLtransport.connect(new Socket(smtpHost, port));
            smtpSSLtransport.sendMessage(smtpMessage,                                                     message.getAllRecipients());
smtpSSLtransport.close();Can anyone correct this piece of code for me or point me in the right direction of what classes and methods I should be using?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Gordon

I always wonder what misleads people to do things this way.
Was there some example you saw that suggested that instantiating
an SMTPSSLTransport was the correct approach? I hope not.
See the smtpsend.java demo program for how to use SMTP
authentication. If you need to use SSL, see the SSLNOTES.txt
file for hints on using the "smtps" protocol. smtpsend.java also
illustrates use of SSL, but you'll need to fix a bug in it to use the
    correct property names ("mail.smtps.auth", etc.).
