Any documents can be sent across at [email protected]
Many Thanks.

Hi
Other then the previous reply,In simplest word we can say --now we have two way to admin the content in the landscape.
1.If we want to do it off-line the we can do form Visual admin( works well because after modification we start the server for changes takes place)
2. Form NWA we can do all administration with indicative navigation (quite frustrating in visual tool ) and no need to start /restart the surver

  • Advantages of using BO over tools provided in BEx

    Hi,
I am wanting to know if there is any documentation enlisting the advantages of using BO over the tools provided in BEx.
Also, what is the advantage of using BO analysing data from cubes in BI 7.0 than accessing data from SAP R/3 directly.
    Thank you.

    Hi
Advantages of BO (as well as other Query/Reporting) are that they provide robust end users interfaces
in terms of designing queries, reports and also run on a standalone desktop client. Their user interface is
easy to use and much easier environment to design manus, drop-down boxes/lists and buttons and also provide wizards to help users guide. These tools can also work against several heterogenous data sources.
There are several factors one needs to keep in mind when selecting 3rd Party tools for SAP BW. A few are listed below:
BO uses OLEDB for OLAP API via BEX query. This causes extra overhead because here you have BEX resources and then you add up BO resources to manage infrmation to/from BEX query over the OLEDB interface. Some vendors, like arcplan, use OLAP BAPI to access BW data. This API has somewhat lower overhead because it bypasses the OLEDB for OLAP layer.
As you know that BEX is MSExcel based. It is not easy to build sophisticatecd user interfaces without doing extensive VBA or Macro programming.

  • Advantages of using activities over outlook

    Hello, All
Can any one explain me the advantages of using activities over outlook? In Outlook you can schedule the activities for the whole day, see if the period of an activity clashes with another activity so you can reschedule it etc.
In short, can anyone explain why would anyone prefer using Activity Management over Outlook?
If any documentation is available please mail me at [email protected]

  • What is the advantage of using RMI over socket connection

plz tell me guys what is the advantage of using RMI over socket connection bcoz inherently RMI also uses socket connection.so what is the exact difference in between thm and what is the advantage of using RMI over socket connection.

    i knew tht bt i http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#writewell
How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    Eric Steven Raymond
    Rick Moen
Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal — in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

  • Is there any advantage in using Vault over Time Machine?

    Hi all,
Yesterday I imported around 6000+ pictures from iPhoto and consolidated them into my Aperture library. After much re-organisation into projects, folders etc. I decided to update my backup Vault to preserve all my hard work. The Vault is located on a connected external drive with plenty of spare storage. I had previously backed up successfully to the vault when there was only a few dozen pictures in my library.
After initiating the Vault update process I then left it to get on it (and to have dinner and then watch the football...) and after several hours was dismayed to find that the process appeared to be stuck at just over 50% completion. It was obvious that no further progress was being made.
I was also concerned that there appeared to be no mechanism to cancel the process and the only course of action I could take was to apply a Force Quit against Aperture - not something that I care to do, if I can possibly avoid it.
After a rudimentary search of this community I saw that several others had experienced the same problem - although some suggested that a fix had been applied in recent versions (although I am running the latest version).
Given this, I'm reluctant to use the Vault again - particularly as there appears to be no means of cancelling a stuck job. I do however use Time Machine, so my questions are:
    1) Do I really need to use Vault if I have Time Machine making regular backups of my Aperture library to an external drive?
    2) Does using Vault give any advantages over Time Machine?
    3) Is anyone else experiencing this problem with the current version of Aperture (v3.3)?
    4) Is there anyway of cancelling a stuck Vault update other than the sledgehammer approach of Force Quit?
    Thanks in anticipation,
    Simon.

    SImon,
Vault and Time Machine address different needs. Probably you will want to have both.
The advantage of Time Machine: incremental backups of previous versions, very compact storage. And you can integrate it into your regular backup of the whole system and include the regular masters as well. But the disadvantage: Time Machine decides for you, what will be deleted, if the backup drives get full. You do not have control over what will be saved and what not from the previous versions.
The advantage of vaults: You can make full backups of your library for well defined moments in time - snapshots of important states. I'd create a vault, whenever I make a major upgrade of the system at least.
Is there anyway of cancelling a stuck Vault update other than the sledgehammer approach of Force Quit?
If the graphical user interface is unresponsive, like when updating a vault, you can use the Terminal to send the "termination signal" to Aperture: Sometimes this will succeed, even if the "Quit" button does not work:
Look for the Process ID of Aperture in the Activity Monitor (launch Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor" and click the CPU heading. This will bring Aperture close to the top of the list. Make a note of the PID number in the first column, in this case 66550.
Launch a Terminal window and enter the following command:
kill -TERM 66550           (insert Aperture's PID instead of 66550)
This will send the "Software Termination Signal - TERM to Aperture, the same as pressing the "Quit" button should do, but send it directly, and not from the GUI that is unresponsive. This way I always succeded in cancelling a vaul update without force quitting. Not all processes can be terminated this way, however. The Terminal.app is also in the Applications > Utilities folder.

  • Advantages of using PCK over normal XI adapters

    Hi Gurus,
We are in a situation where in we need to choose either implementing PCK or a complete XI . We are a medium sized manufacturing company who need to talk to customers and vendors who already have XI.
Please let me know what are the advantages and disadvantages of implementing a PCK over a full blown XI .
Should we implement XI itself or a PCK would suffice our needs.

  • Advantages of using RDF  over JSP

    Hi
    1. What are the advantages if i save the reports in .rdf or .rep or as .jsp for a paper layout reports.
    2. To run the batch is it necessary to save the report as .rdf or .rep.
    3. Can we schedule these reports in Job scheduler(OEM).
    Regards
    Ranganath

    Hello Ranganath,
    1. You can save your reports either as RDF or JSP to run them to paper. Both report formats store the paper layout information. REP files are run-only report definitions, in that they are pre-compiled and cannot be edited/opened in Reports Builder.
    2. Both RDF and JSP reports can be run in batch mode.
    3. Similarly, reports in both these formats can be scheduled.
One difference between the two formats is that JSPs are pure text files and can be opened and edited in any text editor. On the other hand, RDFs and REPs are binary format files. Further, only JSPs can be deployed on the web using the JSP engine.
    Thanks,
    The Oracle Reports Team.

  • What is the advantage of using Yosemite on my iMac over 10.9.5

What is the advantage of using Yosemite over Lion on my iMac?  Is it any faster, slower or what?

Before upgrading to a new operating system, here are a couple considerations:
    1.  If you are having problems with your current system, full version upgrades
will make them worse.  Fix all issues before making the upgrade.
    2.  Make sure that any third party hardware is compatible with the new operating
system, i.e. drivers available to support the OS.
    3.  The hidden cost item of needing to upgrade apps to work on the new OS.
If your any of your favorite or mission critical applications are not compatible,
expect the possibility of needing to purchase upgrades of those apps so that
they will work on the new OS.
    4.  If you rely on your computer for your livelihood,  be absolutely sure that you
have a backup strategy and plan to quickly recover should there be any issues.
There has been many a complaint on this forum that new OS upgrades have
have ruined their business and had no recovery strategy in place.  Besides,
anyone relying on a computer for their livelihood is REQUIRED to have such
a strategy in place regardless of OS upgrades as anything can happen at
         any time.
    5.  If everything is working fine and dandy for you currently, you need to ask if
any of the new features of an OS of any use to you.  If not, then perhaps
a "don't fix it if it ain't broke" philosophy is what you should follow.

  • Advantages of using grub2

What are the advantages of using grub2 over just grub? Why would I want to upgrade?

The coolest thing about Grub2, as far as I'm concerned, is that it supports booting off of software raid natively (and LVM volumes as well, I think), the downside is that there's really not that much detailed documentation available on how to do that(at least at the time I tried it) ... or on Grub2 configuration in general (again, at the time I tried it), I tried to use it when I got some extra hard-drives and began running on Software Raid, but in the end I gave up and went back to Grub, because I already knew how to use it and the work-around's to make Grub boot software raid are really not that bad.  (you just need a separate non-raid or raid 1/boot partition).
I think sometime in the not too distant future (perheps next Sunday, AD) Debian/Ubuntu are switching to Grub2.  I imagine the documentation situation will get better if that happens, and I might try and switch again.  For now, Grub gets the job done for me.

  • Advantages of using Taskflow

What are the advantages of using TaskFlow over traditional J2EE apps?
    All answers are welcome

ADF task flows provide a modular approach for defining control flow in an application. Instead of representing an application as a single large JSF page flow, you can break it up >into a collection of reusable task flows. Each task flow contains a portion of the application's navigational graph.Read this blogpost for more details:

  • Advantages of using a Data Template over an RDF

    Hi All,
Can anyone help me to understand what are the advantages of using a Data Template over an RDF while developing an XML Publisher Report ?
    Regards,
    Shruti

    Hi Sruthi,
you can merge n number of SQL Quries in a singe Data Template.
suppose you have column say Partner Name in which u have made Prompt. now lets say based on the partner name prompt, fileds need to change in the reoprt ie; (different sql Quries) in this case we can use data template.
