AE CC 2014.1 - layer selection and bounding box issue.

Upgraded to AE CC 2014.1 yesterday and now the Bounding Box around layers does not appear when hovering the mouse down the layers in the timeline.
When dealing with many overlapping layers, a quick way of finding elements was to hover the mouse down the layers in the timeline which then showed a bounding box around that layer in the composition window.
Am I missing something? Has this been omitted... or is there a preference I can't see... or is this a bug?

I will say only this, and then nothing further on this thread, on the discussion of the new user interface design in After Effects CC 2014.1. (I dislike thread hijacking.)
We are looking at all of the feedback being provided. We want to you to voice your opinion. Please be specific as to what problems you are having with the new user interface design.
I also want to note here that the blue color alone is not what is generating feedback. "Blue" is being used as a collective term for the changes, but I fear that such generalization is creating a false impression that simply changing the color will resolve the complaints. There have been many, many small changes of which the highlight color is only one. We need to hear specifically from you which of the changes you dislike, whether it's the blue color specifically, or the brightness/contrast of the blue, or the brightness or design of other parts of the user interface, and in which contexts it causes a problem.
So please let us know what you think, here on the forums in a new thread or one of the existing threads, or send us your feedback privately: adobe.ly/feature_request
You haven't seen many replies from us on the other threads because we want to receive your honest feedback. The new user interface design has been available to you for all of one week as of today, and now is the time for us to listen to you.

Bounding box issue - In design CS6

I keep having problems with page content disappearing and then the "unable to set bounding box" alert popping up when I try to remedy.
This is a 600+ page user manual with 100s of screenshots. I have a fair amount of page breaks in the doc, and the issue seems to be related to this (although I am not sure). Can anyone please give me some advice on this? Thank you!

When i click on a <option> corresponding the other two text boxes must be loaded with data!

well there are many ways of doing this.
1).Render all the data corresponding to each employee at a time.By making a javascript arrays and try to get back the data from there.
2).Save the ArrayList of DTO beans in the scope of session.Use AJAX call a CGI(Servlet/JSP action) fetch the values from the session render the response as XML now parse the XML data using javascript DOM and then update the consecutive textboxes.
Just as an example checkout my answer in the below post.It was an example given for a dependent drop downs.however, we can definately use the same concept to update textboxes too.

CC 2014 Adobe suite and iCloud connection issue

Ever since I bought the new iCloud and Abobe Creative suite, I've had issues. The apps were working up until now, but the iCloud connection never worked. It kept scrolling. I noticed that when I would shut down my computer and relaunch, it would launch all the programs I had open and create a scrolling issue. Mind you, I still use the old CS5 programs and I am mainly using the CC for Dreamweaver right now. I've been have to force quit things in start-up. So, I don't know if this has to do with the iCloud issue or not.
The main thing that has happened today, is that my apps don't work now. It's telling that I need to change my firewall settings. Why now? Anyway, I'm frustrated for two reasons. I subject to working on things based on internet connection. This is why I keep my old apps. But, now I'm frustrated because of what is happening on start up and the fact that I can't my Dreamweaver app.
I'm in the middle of a project. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I should not have to "expand" a rectangle before resetting its bounding box

When you create a rectangle and rotate it, the Reset Bounding Box command is available to you, but selecting it does nothing. To get it to work, you have to "expand" the rectangle first, and then select Reset Bounding Box. This is idiotic. If I've explicitly told the program I want to reset the bounding box of said rectangle, and for whatever arcane reason it can only reset the bounding box of "expanded" rectangles, then it should "expand" the dang rectangle for me and reset the bounding box like I asked.

As it is a Live rectangle and not a Real rectangle it has not been 'really' rotated.
In the same way when you round its corners they are not 'really' rounded until the thing has been expanded.
I am still in the same mindset for this.
Rounded Rectangles should have been changed to live rectangles.
And the Real Rectangle tool should have left alone.
We now have a High End Vector Drawing Program without a simple rectangle tool
I can't work out what the hell they were thinking.
I'm worried about what the next tool to be broken will be.

Thanks for the response, I tried that dialogbox, but the bounding box option does not appear there. There is of course the option to turn off ALL the layer controls but this new bounding box feature seems to be ever present. It just irks me to have things flash up on the screen as I work on it, distracting me from the composition itself. And frankly never had an issue of distinguishing my layers in the past. Photoshop and Illustrator have similar "auto guide" features, but they both have the OFF option.
On another note, has anybody been bothered by the inconsistent behavior of the "Shift" flowchart shortcut? The idea is to press shift and the left arrow to move back out Ovenesta composition, but in practice pressing shift does not always bring up the flowchart immediately, you often have to press shift twice or navigate to your comp window-- defeating the purpose of a consistent useful shortcut.

This issue has been going on for several weeks.
The Move Tool is not functioning properly when selecting and TARGETING a layer or multiple layers, as the Layer Properties box pops up requiring me to close it and try again.
How to reset or is there an update and fix for this issue.
Using Win 8, Elements 12, and Intuos 4 Pen and Tablet.

To reset the tool I suggest click on it once and then look for something like this in the bottom half of your window:
In the above picture I have marked one section in red box. You need to click on it to get the option to either reset the only tool you have clicked or to reset all the tools in the editor window. Of course you have to be in Expert Mode to get this to work.

Bounding box and selection tool problems (CS5.5 Illustrator OSX)

When I select objects by dragging arrow tool (i.e. logos, headlines, etc.) I often have a problem that other objects are also selected (images, things that are not visible or not actually there) and I can't unselect them easily to get just my selection of objects and be able to resize them by dragging corners. It's like you have to scale everything including the weird extra invisible items across the page somewhere. Sometimes if it's an image that gets selected in addition I can click on and off it to get just my selected objects. And then sometimes the bounding box does not work at all and I can't resize my selected objects by dragging the corners (scale tool works though). Showing and hiding bounding box from drop down menu does nothing. This seems random but happens all the time. It also happened in CS5 on a different Mac computer. Anybody run into this? I know other designers in the office have experienced this. Is there a weird selection preference I need to set? Should I try resetting preferences? Could it be Ram issues? (Sometimes have Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign open all at once)
I've just been dealing with it up to this point but I am really ready for a fix for this issue. It seems buggy.

I am afraid you have come across the Live Rectangle bug which is limited to the MAC versions starting with 10.7 and 10.8, but not 10.9 (Mavericks), see this thread linked to below.

So a switch to Mavericks with a reinstallation might be the way to solve it here and now.
To get round it in each case, it is possible to Expand the Live Rectangles to get normal old fashioned rectangles, or to Pathfinder>Unite, or to use the Scale Tool.
A more permanent way round that is to create normal old fashioned rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

I'm in the middle of a text animation design treatment and unless my memory is completely failing I thought this was an option.
An example would be selecting all layers and being able to see all bounding boxes and animation paths while moving along the timeline.
Of course this could be quite a mess if you couldn't selectively chose which layers, its just with this current project it would be so helpful if
I could see the text beyond the canvas to aid in my animations.

I do understand shift + v " to "Show Full View Area" and shift + z to fill screen, etc.
and command + & - for zooming
what I'd like to do is selectively view, say, the text outside of the canvas as you can see the bounding box
which contains the text or object when selecting one or all layers in the layers column
I haven't used this feature in a while though I do recall using it in the past.
Any help would greatly appreciated

Where the bounding box and handles gone?

Today I had updated Illustrator 2014 to .1 and I did realized that bounding box are gone...
It works fine where two or more objects are selected but for one object it just disappeared...
How to get it back?

It applies to plain rectangle tool, it looks like they just made changes to it and for now it doesn't behave as it was in version 18.0
When I do select two plain rectangle using a shift key then, bounding box is back again, ready to sue..

Transform/Bounding Box Bug Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0

Hi Guys,
I did a little screencast here, anyway the bug is a simple one to explain. For some reason the transform/bounding box disappears on single objects, but behaves normally on multiples and groups.
Such a small thing but very annoying.

All those alternatives certainly match up to the testing I'd done, probably the fastest/cleanest is to just hit "unite" in the pathfinder palette.
For the benefit of other users, coming only recently from CS5 this is an interesting new option, MENU = OBJECT > SHAPE > EXPAND RECTANGLE (snapshot below) once you have "Expanded" the rectangle it will behave as expected where toggling back to the black Selection Tool (V) will show the transform handles.
I'll be heading over to Yosemite in the next week if I get some downtime to make it happen! (crosses fingers - back up - back up - back up...)

When my wife first logs in, this is the screen that comes up:

It doesn't matter what we select here; the next screen is always the following:
And here is where it dead ends. There's no place to enter an alternate name under 40 characters, there's nothing to click on. And this has been happening every time my wife has tried to log in.

Bounding box for point and radius

I am using google maps and WGS 84 (4326).
I am trying to get the bounding box that contains a circle of a given radius in miles starting at a given lat/lon.
I saw SDO_GEOM.SDO_MBR, but I wasn't sure how to do the circle (or at the least get points m miles north, south, east, and west of a given point)

I tried using the feature request page but got an error after typing all this and thankfully I copied all of the text I entered just before hitting submit just in case the website decided to act stupid like it did (would have to retype all of the following and many sites fail at keeping that info or even bringing back the page you were on.. Very bad for users)

Standardizing features like this across your Adobe apps (photoshop, illustrator) would make it more consistent since I was really looking hard to find a way to do this similar to the other apps I mentioned but InDesign failed to do this. It's very distracting trying to apply effects such as a drop shadow and not being able to see the result properly because of the bounding box. I hope this gets implemented ASAP.

After trying this again, it seemed to go through this time. Hopefully they get this implemented soon.
