After consolidate of image can't find it...

I just consolidated the image form a referenced location, but even though it is there in my aperture library, I cannot use "show in finder" (greyed out) and locate referenced files says it's not referenced. I see the file in my library and it no longer has any badges. However when I go in the finder to the original location (original referenced location) it is still there. When I have consolidated before it moved the files to the aperture library. This time it didn't see to. I've tried relaunching Aperture and it's the same thing. Recommendations? I can still see the image and edit/print it. Weird.

Show in Finder does not work for managed original image files in Aperture. It is only available for referenced original files. Your originals have been safely copied to the library, if you can edit the originals or export them with "File > Export".
When you consolidate your original files, Aperture will let the originals in their place and copy them to the library by default. Change the option to "Move", if you rather want the files to be moved.
If you selected "Move files", but Aperture did copy and not move, you may no write permissions on the drive with the references files.
If you need to be able to reveal managed files in the Finder, open your Aperture library in iPhoto, if you have a compatible iPhoto version. In iPhoto you can reveal managed originals in the Finder. But be very careful, when opening the library package and don't move or modify files.

Encrypted Disk Image - Can't find it

I just created a 1GB encrypted disk image using the Disk Utility program on my macbook (Macintosh HD). After I created it, I put some files in it. Then I "ejected" it, logged off, and then logged back on. It is no longer on my desktop. I tried doing a search and still can't find it.
So...how did I find it and how do I create a short cut so I don't run into this again?

To expand a little on Steve Sherriff1's answer: when you created the encrypted disk image in Disk Utility, it created a file with a .dmg extension, saving it wherever you specified (if you open Disk Utility and again select 'New -> Blank Disk Image' from the File menu, it should still be pointing to the last location you save to). That .dmg (disk image) file is opened as a virtual disk on the desktop when first created. When you eject it, it won't automatically reappear on the desktop; you need to find the .dmg file (using Steve's tip) and double-click the .dmg to mount the disk image. For easier mounting, you can put an alias to the .dmg file on the Desktop, in the Dock, or in the lower-left pane of your Home folder.

I can't find my audio book after purchasing using iOS 7. I understand with old iOS it was located in music app under More. Have tried buying again but no joy. Can't see it in my purchased section either........

Same problem.After 30 min figured it out.
For me:
hooked up iphone 5 to imac
Updated ios7
updated itunes
downloaded audible.com app and signed in/registered
went to books tab on iphone while still plugged in
manual dowload selected audiobooks on syn audiobooks.
sync and dowload onto iphone
turned off iphone
restarted
audiobooks were under more in music icon on iphone.
Rather long and silly-but worked.Just had to now redownload all my music as it erased music.
Seems you can not manually sync music,and audio books-its one or the other.When you click on,the other goes off.Just had to do it sequentially.What made apple a great company seems to be slowly eroding.

After renaming clips, where can I find the original name?

Sorry, I asked this before but got an answer more about custom naming. So...
After importing my dslr clips with their uninformative date and time names, I often rename them so I can tell what's on them. But sometimes I want to know the original name which doesn't seem to be in the 'Info' panel anymore since I renamed it. I can 'Reveal in Finder' which will show the original clip but you'd think FCPX, since it keeps track of the clip, must have the name squirreled away somwhars. Anybody know?

I don't get where you mean. I see where to apply a custom name, I'm saying, after I've changed the name either in the Browser or Info panel, I don't see where the original name is and I'm asking where I can still find the original name in FCPX.
I know I can "reveal in Finder' to see the original clip with its name but there must be another way in FCPX itself.

IMac 2007 freezes after sleep and then can't find hard drive after reboot.

I'm having a problem where my mid 2007 iMac (2.4 GHz core duo w/ 6 Gb of ram) freezes after sleep. It seems to happen only when an application was open at the time of sleep. The freeze manifests as the cursor turns into the spinning wheel, but the computer can't do anything. Command-option escape doesn't work. Most of the time after I reboot, the iMac can't find the hard drive. If I leave the computer off for 15 minutes then it will reboot ok. Is my hard drive going out or do I have another problem? I'm running Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I've repaired permissions, verified the hard drive and reset the NVram but I still have the problem.

In iMovie, all my files are empty after upgrade. How can I find them?

I went into iMovie today to look at some old videos and notice mostly all my files are empty. I'm not sure how long its been this way, but it seems like it happened over the summer sometime. I only have files from June to the present. Where can I find them?
I tried to read up on others with similar problems and tried some of the suggestions, but no luck.

I bought an app long time ago but after an upgrade i can't find it

Long time ago I bought an app on my iphone (typedrawing), last week accidentally i made an upgrade but no a security copy, now I can't find this app, what sould I do???
any know where I can find, or if there is any record of purchased apps? at the downloaded apps section is not, and I really don't want to buy the application again

The app is typedrawing and first i downloaded the free version, then i bought it, but after the upgrade i lost all my apps, pics, videos, etc. I reinstalled all that i could but this app was no there, i know was my fault no make a security copy but i mean it would be possible have a record that i bought this app, oder?

This seems ridiculous. I generated an executable with the installer (2009) and installed it on a pc and everything worked great. I now tried to install on a 2nd pc and although the N.I. Run Time folders are apparent, I can't find the button to push to get the Run Time running. Is there a main file that I should be clicking?

Your statement makes little sense, maybe you can clarify it for us. (What are "N.I Run Time folders"? What is the meaning of "apparent"?, etc.)
The run-time engine is not something that needs to be started by pressing a button. All you do is run the executable applications, and it will silently and automatically find and use the correct run time engine. Could you show us a screenshot on what you are looking for?
(Also, built LabVIEW applications should not show the toolbar with the run button of the development system, because they should run when openend and close when done.)

My History became cleared after a power-cut - can I find it in Time Machine ?

Normally, after a forced quit, Firefox restores all open websites. After a power-cut, this did NOT happen ... when I looked in History I found it completely empty (although I did not clear it).
I have Time Machine on my Mac ... but where do I look to restore the History ?

How have you searched in Time Machine?
If you can't recover them from there, the you'll need a file recovery application like File Salvage
Note that you won't be able to recover the Library the best you can hope is to recover the photos. The can by the file recovery software may find many files with the same name. In all cases choose to recover the largest file.

Naming the swap image - Can't find it in the tag inspector.

Hello,
I followed an online description of how to do swap images
(mouse rollover) for a hyperlink. The article said that swap images
work best if the images are "named" which is a different attribute
than the image file name. I was able to name the first image, but I
never got a window that lets me name the swap image. The rollover
effect is working fine, but I want to follow best practices if the
swap image should also be named.
Where do I get the menu to name the swap image?

You only have to name the trigger image. Select the trigger,
apply the
behavior, browse to and select the incoming image (by
filename!), and click
OK.

After Effects Crashes and Can't Find My OpenGL Card?

I have After Effects CS5 (latest version) and it crashes whenever I try to add the "Knoll Light Factory" effect into my composition. Sometimes it will let me add the effect only to crash after I move or mask the layer. It tells me: , , and
when it crashes. This didn't happen about a month ago. Anyways, after looking at some websites online, I tried to disable/enable OpenGL in the preferences window. When I clicked on "OpenGL info", it tells me that I don't have a compatible OpenGL video card. I know this isn't true because I remember turning off OpenGL a month or 2 ago. Does anyone know what I can do? Please help.

Make sure that you have the most recent version of Knoll Light Fatory.
If this plug-in is causing After Effects to crash, then contact Red Giant Support for help with their problematic software.
Regarding OpenGL, go through the troubleshooting steps here:

But note that you aren't missing musch if you don't use OpenGL in After Effects.

Satellite L300 - After XP installation it can't find the WiFi router

After insatlling XP SP1 and insatlling many drivers all except for WLAN works. I did install the drivers and i did install Atheros for managing my connections, but It seems not to even find the wifi router.
I'm using toshiba satellite l300 pslbce.
PS! I had the laptop running on Ubuntu berfore, worked fine.

Yes, installing SP2 is very important on newer laptops since so much changed from SP1 to SP2

Going from SP2 to SP3 is not a big step, but since SP3 is basically a compilation of hotfixes since SP2, you should install SP3 as well for security reasons.

Itunes unable to locate original file for music after update. How can I find it

I am not able to play any of my music since the last update to itnes.It gives me a message that the original file canot be located but when I say locate it comes back with nothing. Any suggestions?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
